• IntelliSense based snippet handling with Visual Studio 2010 SDK MEF Based text editor

  Using the new Visual Studio 2010 SDK developing against the MEF based editor structure there's a question: How can I use the MEF editor interfaces to handle snippet behavior in IntelliSense? The ICompletionSession itself is not a problem (e.g. get the available snippets) rather filling the snippet, handling the subsequently expected actions like tab, enter behavior, text replacement, etc. Is there any way to do that without a language service? Checking the built-in behavior in Visual Studio base editor implementation they built the MEF interfaces on top of a set of language service based objects.

• VS2008: File creation fails randomly in unit testing?

  I'm working on implementing a reasonably simple XML serializer/deserializer (log file parser) application in C# .NET with VS 2008. I have about 50 unit tests right now for various parts of the code (mostly for the various serialization operations), and some of them seem to be failing mostly at random when they deal with file I/O. The way the tests are structured is that in the test setup method, I create a new empty file at a certain predetermined location, and close the stream I get back. Then I run some basic tests on the file (varying by what exactly is under test). In the cleanup method, I delete the file again. A large portion (usually 30 or more, though the number varies run to run) of my unit tests will fail at the initialize method, claiming they can't access the file I'm trying to create. I can't pin down the exact reason, since a test that will work one run fails the next; they all succeed when run individually. What's the problem here? Why can't I access this file across multiple unit tests?   A html page has paging links, 1 set at the top of the page and another on the bottom of the page. Using HtmlUnit, I am currently getting the HtmlAnchor on the page using getByAnchorText("1"); There is a problem in some of the links on the top, so I want to reference the bottom links using XPath. nextPageAnchor = (HtmlAnchor) page.getByXPath(""); How can I reference the 2nd link on the page, with using xpath? I need to reference the link using the AnchorText, so a link like: <a href="....">33</a> The href has random text, and is a javascript function so I have no idea what it will be. Is this possible with xpath?

• VS 2008 SP1 text editor flickering over remote desktop connection

  I am connecting from a Windows 7 x64 machine to my dev machine running Windows XP SP3 using the built in remote desktop client. For most apps it works fine with no problems, for Visual Studio whenever I am typing the entire text editor keeps redrawing. I stumbled across this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/873849/vs-2008-sp1-over-remote-desktop-constant-repainting and I have tried all of the suggestions in it to no effect, including resetting all VS settings back to default then disabling the suggested settings. Has anyone found a reliable solution to this? I feel like I'm going insane with the screen constantly refreshing when I'm working from home. Some additional information: Remote Desktop is set to run at 1680x1050, 15bit color, Low-speed broadband for the experience setting with all but Visual styles and Persistent bitmap caching unchecked. Visual Studio 2008 Team System is running on the dev machine with Service Pack 1 and Power Commands installed.

  I've been reading the wordpress codex and it seems that if I want to add some text just before the footer shows up I should use code like this in my functions.php add_action('wp_footer', 'your_function'); function your_function() { $content = 'This is inserted at the bottom'; echo $content; } It is my understanding that the $content should show up just before the footer, but it does not show up at all. Is there another way to show up my code just before the footer ? I am with WP 2.8 but this should not matter

I need a way to make an alert show at the momment the FileUpload choosed in browser. Help!!!!

It should be solution in overriding OnPaint method, but it doesn't.   I am developing a database-like application that stores a a structure containing: struct Dictionary { char *key; char *value; struct Dictionary *next; }; As you can see, I am using a linked list to store information. But the problem begins when the user exits out of the program. I want the information to be stored somewhere. So I was thinking of storing the linked list in a permanent or temporary file using fopen, then, when the user starts the program, retrieve the linked list. How should I format the file (like I was thinking of just having the key first, then the value, then a newline character)?

• python: simple example for a python egg with a one-file source file?

  I'm not quite sure how to build a really simple one-file source module. Is there a sample module out there one the web somewhere which can be built as a python .egg? From the setuptools page it looks pretty simple, you just have your setup.py file and then at least one other .py file somewhere, and I can build an .egg file OK, and even install it using easy_install, but I can't seem to import the file from within python. (note: using 2.6.4)

I've read a couple pages that referenced refreshing the DOM after the javascript runs, but I haven't been able to successfully do it (I know enough about javascript to hack things around and get stuff working, but not enough to create whole new things). It is worth noting that Silverlight doesn't work with Internet Explorer 8 or Safari (not sure if it's my code, mejs, or the browsers).   I am trying to automatically verify certain conventions, such as label/table column header text (Sentence Case, use of colons, etc). It would be nice if there was a way in FlexUnit, or other means, to Iterate over all views in the app Get all titles, labels, column headers Run some pattern checks and fail where needed. Does anyone have a suggestion on what the best way would be to achieve that? I suppose I could do this on a code level on the MXML files, but it would be nicer if it could be integrated into the overall unit test suits. Thanks for any suggestions

  hi there, I need to read a text file when I start my program. I'm using eclipse and started a new java project. In my project folder I got the "src" folder and the standard "JRE System Library"... I just don't know where to put the text file. I cannot use a "hard coded" path because the text file needs to be included with my app... I also tried to create a new folder like "Files" and use the pathe "Files/staedteliste.txt".. doesn't work too... • Multiple lines of text to a single map

  I've been trying to use Hadoop to send N amount of lines to a single mapping. I don't require for the lines to be split already. I've tried to use NLineInputFormat, however that sends N lines of text from the data to each mapper one line at a time [giving up after the Nth line]. I have tried to set the option and it only takes N lines of input sending it at 1 line at a time to each map: job.setInt("mapred.line.input.format.linespermap", 10); I've found a mailing list recommending me to override LineRecordReader::next, however that is not that simple, as that the internal data members are all private. I've just checked the source for NLineInputFormat and it hard codes LineReader, so overriding will not help. Also, btw I'm using Hadoop 0.18 for compatibility with the Amazon EC2 MapReduce.

• PHP upload filename

  I'd like to have my PHP script upload a file with a certain filename in a directory of my choosing. However, the catch is that I need it to exist there immediately upon upload so I can moniter it on my server. I don't want to use a PHP extension or something - this should be very easy to transfer to any PHP setup. So basically: Is there a way to guarantee that, from the very beginning of the file upload process, the file has a certain name and location on the server?
