  • cannot load JSTL taglib within embedded Jetty server

    I am writing a web application that runs within an embedded Jetty instance.   • How to expose service contract interfaces with multiple inheritance in WCF service on single endpoin

    I have only simple data types in method signature of service (such as int, string). My service class implements single ServiceContract interface say IMathService, and this interface in turn inherits from some other base interface say IAdderService. I want to expose the MathService using interface contract IAdderService as a service on a single endpoint. However if server exposes IAdderService then the typecast fails. Is there any solution to this? or am I doing it in a wrong way.

  • Ajax call to wcf windows service over ssl (https)

    I have a windows service which exposes an endpoint over http. Again this is a windows service (not a web service hosted in iis). I then call methods from this endpoint, using javascript/ajax. Everything works perfectly, and this the code I'm using in my windows service to create the endpoint: //Create host object WebServiceHost webServiceHost = new WebServiceHost(svcHost.obj, new Uri("http://192.168.0.100:1213")); //Add Https Endpoint WebHttpBinding binding = new WebHttpBinding(); webServiceHost.AddServiceEndpoint(svcHost.serviceContract, binding, string.Empty); //Add MEX Behaivor and EndPoint ServiceMetadataBehavior metadataBehavior = new ServiceMetadataBehavior(); metadataBehavior.HttpGetEnabled = true; webServiceHost.Description.Behaviors.Add(metadataBehavior); webServiceHost.AddServiceEndpoint(ServiceMetadataBehavior.MexContractName, MetadataExchangeBindings.CreateMexHttpBinding(), "mex"); webServiceHost.Open(); Now, my goal is to get this same model working over SSL (https not http). So, I have followed the guidance of several msdn pages, like the following: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms733791(VS.100).aspx I have used makecert.exe to create a test cert called "bpCertTest". I have then used netsh.exe to configure my port (1213) with the test cert I created, all with no problem. Then, I've modified the endpoint code in my windows service to be able to work over https as follows: //Create host object WebServiceHost webServiceHost = new WebServiceHost(svcHost.obj, new Uri("https://192.168.0.100:1213")); //Add Https Endpoint WebHttpBinding binding = new WebHttpBinding(); binding.Security.Mode = WebHttpSecurityMode.Transport; binding.Security.Transport.ClientCredentialType = HttpClientCredentialType.Certificate; webServiceHost.AddServiceEndpoint(svcHost.serviceContract, binding, string.Empty); webServiceHost.Credentials.ServiceCertificate.SetCertificate("CN=bpCertTest", StoreLocation.LocalMachine, StoreName.My); //Add MEX Behaivor and EndPoint ServiceMetadataBehavior metadataBehavior = new ServiceMetadataBehavior(); metadataBehavior.HttpsGetEnabled = true; webServiceHost.Description.Behaviors.Add(metadataBehavior); webServiceHost.AddServiceEndpoint(ServiceMetadataBehavior.MexContractName, MetadataExchangeBindings.CreateMexHttpsBinding(), "mex"); webServiceHost.Open(); The service creates the endpoint successfully, recognizes my cert in the SetCertificate() call, and the service starts up and running with success. Now, the problem is my javascript/ajax call cannot communicate with the service over https. I simply get some generic commication error (12031). So, as a test, I changed the port I was calling in the javascript to some other random port, and I get the same error - which tells me that I'm obviously not even reaching my service over https. I'm at a complete loss at this point, I feel like everything is in place, and I just can't see what the problem is. If anyone has experience in this scenario, please provide your insight and/or solution! Thanks!

  • ADO Entity Framework 4 to WPF Datagrid. DatagridComboBox nightmare.

    The WPF datagrid -seems- like it's going to work, but the combobox implementation does not work straight from the designer. So I'm left wandering around in the XAML randomly changing things trying to get it to work. The problems are numerous. I want to display a foreign key relationship (with drop down) instead of a bunch of numbers for a selection. It seems like it shouldn't be this hard. I can get the right values to show up (their description instead of an ID), but the table freaks out thinking that all the values have been modified. If I select a drop down, it refuses to allow me to edit anything else. I want to chalk this up as a .NET bug, but since I'm new to WPF datagrids, it's probably just me.   • In WPF, how do I get a command in a Control Template to bind to a property in a parent?

    I am relatively new to WPF and sometimes it makes my head explode. However, I do like the power behind it, especially when used with the MVVM model. I have a control template that contains a button. I use that control template inside of a custom control. I want to add a property on the custom control that will bind to the command property of the button inside the control template. Basically, it is a combo box with a button to the right of it to allow a user to pop up a search dialog. Since this control could appear on a usercontrol multiple times, I need to be able to potentially bind each control to a different command (Searh products, search customers, etc).     I have a TextBox and a Button in my view. Selecting an item shows the RowDetailsTemplate which is where my problem lies - why does the RowDetailsTemplate expand beyond the width of the containing DataGrid (thus forcing a horizontal scrollbar), and more importantly, how do I stop it doing this?     I have generated a wsdl file with Visual Studio which is here; http://reboltutorial.com/webservices/discordian.wsdl Implementation is a cgi instead of a .net framework program but that should not matter as it is the purposes of webservices.   • Cannot connect to one of my WCF services, not even with telnet

    I have six wcf services that I'm hosting in a windows service. Everything works great on my machine (Windows 7) but when I try it in production (Windows Server 2003) I cannot connect to one of my six services, ReportsService. I figured I must have a typo, but everything looks right. I've even rewritten that section of the config file just to be sure. I've turned on WCF tracing, but it never shows the call to my service; nothing helpful in there. I tried connecting to the port (9005) with telnet, but it failed. I can connect to all other services (ports 9001-4 and 9006) just fine. I thought that maybe there was a problem with port 9005, so I changed it to 9007 and still couldn't connect. I had one of my working services host on 9005 and it actually worked fine. So I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with the port or any firewall settings. Whatever port I tell ReportsService to use fails. Now I'm out of ideas. It seems like it's not hosting that one service, but I cannot get any information about why or what's wrong. Any ideas on what I could try to get that information? Or what might be wrong? The unhandled System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException I get when running my client is: Could not connect to net.tcp://localhost:9005/ReportsService. The connection attempt lasted for a time span of 00:00:01.0937430. TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 172.0.0.1:9005. .     Might be a really easy problem to fix, but it the solution is eluding me! I'm using Fluent NHibernate 1.0 RTM (and using NHibernate bins that ships with it). I'm trying to map my entities and cannot use the WithTable() method. It's not available in Intelligence and VS doesn't suggest any namespaces to reference.   • Problem in Apache CXF (Simple Frontend): 'Already connected'

    I am using apache CXF for the first time. I am trying to establish a connection based on the CXF simple front end (Configuration notes) technology. I can't really see what I've done wrong, but I am getting a weird error (see below). I have also posted this question to [email protected], but I haven't received a response yet. Perhaps someone here can help. The service bean that is wrapped here is a Spring / JPA service that does not know anything about the web, I want to use simple frontend to publish it as a web service without having to annotate it with Jax-ws etc. (This works in theory).     I've been struggling to get the Browser Dbus Binding working for Webkit/GTK (http://gitorious.org/webkitgtk/stable) port. I have been able to successfully compile the Webkit/GTK port as well as the DBus binding library on my Ubuntu Lucid Beta. I also installed the DBus binding library at the standard location /usr/local/lib. But now when I launch the Webkit/GTK browser and try to run one of the sample html files that are provided with DBus binding source, I get "Browser D-Bus Bridge not available, cannot run tests." Basically, JavaScript cannot find window.dbus object. Can anyone tell me what needs to be done here?

I'm trying to get a reference to it into the converter by creating the intermediate GeometryConverterData object in the Resources section. This object exists solely to get around the problem of not being able to bind directly to the ConverterParameter property (as mentioned in the comments). Here is the code for the GeometryDataConverter class: class GeometryConverterData : FrameworkElement { public static readonly DependencyProperty PlaneProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("Plane", typeof(ViewPlane), typeof(GeometryConverterData), null, ValidValue); public static bool ValidValue(object o){ return true; } public ViewPlane Plane { get{ return GetValue(PlaneProperty) as ViewPlane; }set{ SetValue(PlaneProperty, value); } } } I added the ValidValue function for debugging, to see what this property was getting bound it. It only and always gets set to null. I know that the ViewPlaneSelector.SelectedItem isn't always null since the ItemsControl has items, and it's items are drawn from the same property on the same object... so what gives? How can I get a reference to this ComboBox into my ValueConverter. Or, alternately, why is what I'm doing silly and overly complicated. I'm as guilty as many of sometimes getting it into my head that something has to be done a certain way and then killing myself to make it happen when there's a much cleaner and simpler solution.

    I have a half dozen sites on my server and I would like to get some info from IIS7 to display in the footer of each page (as long as you are an admin of course). I am going through the ServerObject and found Sites but am not finding anything obvious for "this site". What should I do to get at the information for the exact site in IIS7 that the page is running on?     The contract name 'IMyService' could not be found in the list of contracts implemented by the service 'MyService'.. --- System.InvalidOperationException: The contract name 'IMyService' could not be found in the list of contracts implemented by the service 'MyService'. This is driving me crazy. I have a WCF web service that works on my dev machine, but when I copy it to a Virtual Machine that I am using for testing, I get the error that seems to indicate that I am not implementing the interface, but it does not make sense because the service does work on my windows xp IIS. the Virtual machine uses Windows Server 2003 IIS. Any ideas? One thing to note here is that I get this error on my VM even while just trying to access the service in a web browser as the client. Note: I am using principalPermissionMode="UseWindowsGroups", but that is not a problem on my local machine. I just add myself to the appropriate windows group. It is bound to a ViewModel that has one enum property State taking one of those 3 values. Code declaring 3 ellipses is very duplicative. Now I want to add animation so that each light fades in and out - styles will become even bigger and duplication will worsen.
