  • PHP weirdness extending IMagick class

    This is a really weird one. I have some code that is happily working on version 2.1.1RC1 of the php5-imagick module. It's basically just a class I wrote that extends the Imagick class and manages images stored in a database. Since upgrading to version 3.0.0RC1 (thankfully only on my dev box) things have gone to hell. It seems that object members are writeable but are NOT readable. Take the following sample code: class db_image extends IMagick { private $data; function __construct( $id = null ){ parent::__construct(); $this->data = 'some plain text'; echo $this->data; } This will output absolutely NOTHING. My debugger indicates that the contents of $this-data are the correct string value, but I am unable to read the value back out of the member variable. Seriously. WTF? Does anyone know what is causing this or has seen it before? I don't even know how to replicate this behaviour in my own classes.

I want to split it so that each set of hash-started lines becomes a list: I can haz a listz0rs! <ul> <li>42</li> <li>126</li> </ul> I can haz another list plox? <ul> <li>Hello, world!</li> <li>Welcome!</li> </ul> If I run the input against the regex "/(?:(?:(?<=^# )(.*)$)+)/m", I get the following result: Array ( [0] => Array ( [0] => 42 ) [1] => Array ( [0] => 126 ) [2] => Array ( [0] => Hello, world! ) [3] => Array ( [0] => Welcome! ) ) This is fine and dandy, but it doesn't distinguish between the two different lists. I need a way to either make the quantifier return a concatenated string of all the occurrences, or, ideally, an array of all the occurrences. Ideally, this should be my output: Array ( [0] => Array ( [0] => 42 [1] => 126 ) [1] => Array ( [0] => Hello, world! [1] => Welcome! ) ) Is there any way of achieving this, and if not, is there a close alternative? Thanks in advance!

I want to create a query that returns results where any values in the ID fields overlap with any values in the array. For example: lastname: Smith firstname: John id: 101, 103 I have Array #1 with the values 101, 102, 103 I want the query to output all members who have the values 101 or 102 or 103 listed in their id field with multiple ids listed.     What im trying to do: Fetch X numbers of RSS Feeds from my Blogs and echo only new entries. My Problem is, how to know wich items are already parsed? Solution so far: Fetch the Feed every 5 hours, store all titles inside an Database table or flat file. Next run check if the title is already in database if not print it and save it inside the database. But iam not sure if this is best practise to do this? If someone knows a fast way, it would be great. Sorry for my poor english.

    When i upload a excel file, i have used COM() to open and automate converting it to xml. It works fine, But when i run it, it always shows the message from Microsoft Excel: A file named ''' already exists in this location. Do you want to replace it? I can choose between Yes No and Cancel. normally i would choose Yes. But i dont want users to click on Yes each time. Can i disable this? Please inform me if any relevant codes need to be posted. After diggin a bit more, I assembled this code that seems to be what I need, but doesn't work either: find( array('$and'=array( array( '$or' = array( array("something"=array('$gte'=$X)),array("something"="nll"))), array('$or' = array( array("someother"=array('$lte'=$X)),array("someother"="nll")))),"Z"=$z, "s"="1"); But this doesn't work as it returns zero results and I know for sure that there are more than 2 items that match on the db.     Maybe you guys can help: I have a variable called $bio with bio data. $bio = "Hello, I am John, I'm 25, I like fast cars and boats. I work as a blogger and I'm way cooler then the author of the question"; I search the $bio using a set of functions to search for a certain word, lets say "author" which adds a span class around that word, and I get: $bio = "Hello, I am John, I'm 25, I like fast cars and boats. I work as a blogger and I'm way cooler then the <span class=\"highlight\">author</span> of the question"; I use a function to limit the text to 85 chars: $bio = limit_text($bio,85); The problem is when there are more then 80 chars before the word "author" in $bio. When the limit_text() is applied, I won't see the highlighted word author. What I need is for the limit_text() function to work as normal, adding all the words that contain the span class highlight at the end. Something like this: *"This is the limited text to 85 chars, but there are no words with the span class highlight so I am putting to be continued ... **author**, **author2** (and all the other words that have a span class highlight around them separate by comma "* Hope you understood what I mean, if not, please comment and I'll try to explain better. My problem is, that for some reason not all variables are available in the session. here is a shortened version of my code for explaining this issue: session_start(); print_r($_SESSION); $_SESSION['lang'] = 'de'; $_SESSION['location_id'] = 11; $_SESSION['region_id'] = 1; $_SESSION['userid'] = 'eccbc87e4b5ce2fe28308fd9f2a7baf3'; $_SESSION['hash'] = 'dce57f1e3bc6fba32afab93b0c38b662'; print_r($_SESSION); first call prints something like this: Array ( ) Array ( [lang] => de [location_id] => 11 [region_id] => 1 [userid] => eccbc87e4b5ce2fe28308fd9f2a7baf3 [hash] => dce57f1e3bc6fba32afab93b0c38b662 ) the second call prints: Array ( [lang] => de [location_id] => 11 [region_id] => 1 ) Array ( [lang] => de [location_id] => 11 [region_id] => 1 [userid] => eccbc87e4b5ce2fe28308fd9f2a7baf3 [hash] => dce57f1e3bc6fba32afab93b0c38b662 ) As you can see, the important login information is not stored in the session.     Hello all, Both the MySQLi and MySQLi_STMT classes have an $insert_id property. If I am connected to my database using a MySQLi object (say $db), and then I perform an INSERT with a MySQLi_STMT object (say $stmt), to get the id of the last INSERT, should I use: $last_id = $db->insert_id; or $last_id = $stmt->insert_id; Or would they be the same, in which case it doesn't matter? I thought this might be a quick answer for someone, and save me the time of writing the test code to check it. Thanks in advance as always.
