    Hello! Do you know any method to optimize this HTML Code to IE6 or 7 (or 8) without adding any HTML elements, or the IE is skipping all the HTML5 elements?   • Android fragments problems different layouts

    I have two layouts: one for portait with one container and another for landscape with two containers.   • Regex: Use start of line/end of line signs (^ or $) in different context

    While doing some small regex task I came upon this problem. I have a string that is a list of tags that looks e.g like this: foo,bar,qux,garp,wobble,thud What I needed to do was to check if a certain tag, e.g. 'garp' was in this list. (What it finally matches is not really important, just if there is a match or not.) My first and a bit stupid try at this was to use the following regex: [^,]garp[,$] My idea was that before 'garp' there should either be the start of the line/string or a comma, after 'garp' there should be either a comma or the end of the line/string. Now, it is instantly obvious that this regex is wrong: Both ^ and $ change their behaviour in the context of the character class [ ]. What I finally came up with is the following: ^garp$|^garp,|,garp,|,garp$ This regex just handles the 4 cases one by one. (Tag at beginning of list, in the center, at the end, or as the only element of the list.) The last regex is somehow a bit ugly in my eyes and just for funs sake I'd like to make it a bit more elegant. Is there a way how the start of line/end of line characters (^ and $) can be used in the context of character classes?

  • CSS - Class hierarchies???

    Hi, I have a site with a customer front end, which has a catalogue, homepage, contact page, about us page and so on. There is also an administration front end. I would like to implement a kind of hierarchy where any elements within an element with class "admin" will inherit properties set in the admin stylesheet and anything else inherits from the customer stylesheet. The purpose of this is so that admin can login on the admin front end, where they have access to lots of advanced stuff, but they can also navigate to the customer front end where they can execute basic tasks (such as hiding catalogue items, running a debug script if a customer reports an issue and so on). I would like all the admin tools on the customer front end to have properties taken from the admin stylesheet instead of the customer one - this will change the background colour and stuff. Is there any easy way to set up like namespaces to make things simpler, for example: .admin { .list { .list-subtitle { } .list-item { } } a { } } .customer { .list { .list-subtitle { } .list-item { } } a { } } I know it can be like: .admin .list {} .admin .list .list-item {} .admin a I just dont want to have to keep putting .admin all the time. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could do this? I suppose I could write a .net class which sets this up and writes a stylesheet according to whats put into it, but then I would not be able to read the styles so easily add there would be all sorts of like Classes.Add(blah) and so on.   • IE8 developer tools missing some styles

    Hi, I'm having some problems with some CSS properties in IE8. I've tested my site in IE7, Chrome and Firefox and they work fine but IE8 is having some layout issues. I inspect the developer tool option on ie8 and I've noticed that some of the properties I set in CSS are being ignored by ie8. For example: #header { position: relative; padding: 20px; height: 100px; background:url(header.png); } In this header IE8 ignored the height property: If I inspect the element in developer tools it is missing that property and it's crushed into another line: background:url;HEIGHT: 100PX The same thing happens for floats too: #logon { float: left; text-align:right; width:20%; height: 40px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right:7px; border:0; margin:0; background: url(navgradient.gif); } This ignores the float value: background: url(navgradient.gif); FLOAT:left; What is happening here and how can I fix it?

  • FasterCSV Parsing issue?

    G'day guys, I'm currently using fastercsv to construct ActiveRecord elements and I can't for the life of me see this bug (tired), but for some reason when it creates, if in the rake file i output the column I want to save as the element value, it puts out correctly, as either a Trade or a Quote but when I try to save it into the activerecord, it won't work. FasterCSV.foreach("input.csv", :headers => true) do |row| d = DateTime.parse(row[1]+" "+row[2]) offset = Rational(row[3].to_i,24) o = d.new_offset(offset) t = Trade.create( :name => row[0], :type => row[4], :time => o, :price => row[6].to_f, :volume => row[7].to_i, :bidprice => row[10].to_f, :bidsize => row[11].to_i, :askprice => row[14].to_f, :asksize => row[15].to_i ) end Ideas? Name and Type are both strings, every other value works except for type. Have I missed something really simple?

  • .net MVC RenderPartial renders information that is not in the model

    Hi, I have a usercontrol that is rendering a list of items. Each row contains a unique id in a hidden field, a text and a delete button. When clicking on the delete button I use jquery ajax to call the controller method DeleteCA (seen below). DeleteCA returns a new list of items that replaces the old list. [HttpPost] public PartialViewResult DeleteCA(CAsViewModel CAs, Guid CAIdToDelete) { int indexToRemove = CAs.CAList.IndexOf(CAs.CAList.Single(m => m.Id == CAIdToDelete)); CAs.CAList.RemoveAt(indexToRemove); return PartialView("EditorTemplates/CAs", CAs); } I have checked that DeleteCA is really removing the correct item. The modified list of CAs passed to PartialView no longer contains the deleted item. Something weird happens when the partial view is rendered. The number of items in the list is reduced but it is always the last element that is removed from the list. The rendered items does not correspond to the items in the list/model sent to PartialView. In the usercontrol file (ascx) I'm using both Model.CAList and lambda expression m = m.CAList. How is it possible for the usercontrol to render stuff that is not in the model sent to PartialView?   • Can't send client certificate via SslStream

    I am doing an SSL3 handshake using an SslStream, but, in spite of my best efforts, the SslStream never sends a client certificate on my behalf. Here is the code: SSLConnection = new System.Net.Security.SslStream(SSLInOutStream, false, new System.Net.Security.RemoteCertificateValidationCallback(AlwaysValidRemoteCertificate), new System.Net.Security.LocalCertificateSelectionCallback(ChooseLocalCertificate)); X509CertificateCollection CC = new X509CertificateCollection(); CC.Add(Org.BouncyCastle.Security.DotNetUtilities.ToX509Certificate(MyLocalCertificate)); SSLConnection.AuthenticateAsClient("test", CC, System.Security.Authentication.SslProtocols.Ssl3, false); and then I have AlwaysValidRemoteCertificate just returning true, and ChooseLocalCertificate returning the zeroth element of the array. The code probably looks a little weird because the project is a little weird, but I think that is beside the point here. The SSL handshake completes. The issue is that instead of sending a certificate message on my behalf (in the handshake process), with the ASN.1 encoded certificate (MyLocalCertificate), the SslStream sends an SSL alert number 41 (no certificate) and then carries on. I know this from packet sniffing. After the handshake is completed, the SslStream marks IsAuthenticated as true, IsMutuallyAuthenticated as false, and its LocalCertificate member is null. I feel like I'm probably missing something pretty obvious here, so any ideas would be appreciated. I am a novice with SSL, and this project is off the beaten path, so I am kind of at a loss. P.S. 1: My ChooseLocalCertificate routine is called twice during the handshake, and returns a valid (as far as I can tell), non-null certificate both times. P.S. 2: SSLInOutStream is my own class, not a NetworkStream. Like I said, though, the handshake proceeds mostly normally, so I doubt this is the culprit... but who knows?

  • Load external script dynamic, and access it, so I can trigger its domready function

    I am trying to load the Zopim chat client. Normally it is included with a document write action. This causes it to be loaded before the domReady function is triggered, as it needs this to start itself. I want to load it later, and this works by using prototype (framework determined by Magento) to create a new script element and attaching it to the head. The script is loaded perfectly, but the domReady doesn't fire, so the script is never started. The script is a nameless class, by this I mean that all its functions are encapsulated in {} UPDATE: Sorry, I got it wrong, it is as self invoking function, the same syntax as the first answer suggest. (function C(){ })(); This function call when run sets up listening events for the domReady event under various browsers and then waits. When the domready event fires, it calls a function (that is within the self-invoked function) that starts everything. What I need, is a way to access this function somehow. END UPDATE Within that is a function named C. How can I call this function directly? Or put another way, how can I start an external javascript file that depends on domready going off, when that event doesn't happen? Can I load an external javascript file into a variable, so I can name the class? Can I access the nameless class {} somehow maybe via the script tag? Is there a way to alter the external file/javascript so I can have it look for another event, one that I can trigger? About the only solution I can think of at the moment is to create a iframe and load the script in that.

  • XMLBeans - xsi:type stripped using Axis2 and Tomcat?

    I’m new to XMLBeans and have been trying to use it to create an XML document as part of an axis2 web service. When I run my code as a standard Java application or as a standard servlet, the XML is correctly generated: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <c:BroadsoftDocument protocol="OCI" xmlns:c="C"> <sessionId>000000001</sessionId> <command xsi:type="AuthenticationRequest" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <userId>admin</userId></command> </c:BroadsoftDocument> However, when the exact same code is run under Axis2 & Tomcat in a servlet I get: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <c:BroadsoftDocument protocol="OCI" xmlns:c="C"> <sessionId>000000001</sessionId> <command> <userId>admin</userId></command> </c:BroadsoftDocument> This of course isn’t valid – the xsi:type of the “command” element is stripped when the code is run under Tomcat. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I could be doing wrong that would cause this type of issue only when running under Axis2? At first I thought it was a Tomcat issue, but after creating a generic servlet and running the exact same code I don't have any issues. I've tried playing with the XMLOptions for XMLBeans, but couldn't seem to resolve the problem.   • Question - Setting dynamic HTML using Javascript to iFrames on Windows Mobile 6.1 - IE Mobile6

    Hi Experts, (excuse me if this is not the right forum to post - i couldn't find anything related to non-native programming and related to this topic) I Am trying to set a dynamic HTML into an iFrame on the webpage. I have tried a couple of things but none of them seem to work. I m able to read the innerHTML but can't seem to update it. // Able to read using document.getElementById('iFrameIdentifier').innerHTML; // On Desktop IE, this code works document.getElementById('iFrameId').contentWindow.document.open(); document.getElementById('iFrameId').contentWindow.document.write(dynamicHTML); document.getElementById('iFrameId').contentWindow.document.close(); Ideally the same function should work as how it works for div's but it says 'Object doesn't support this method or property". I have also tried document.getElementById('iFrameId').document.body.innerHTML. This apparently replaces the whole HTML of the page and not just the innerHTML. I have tried out a couple of things and they didn't work document.getElementById('iFrameId').body.innerHTML document.frames[0].document.body.innerHTML My purpose is to have a container element which can contain dynamic HTML that's set to it. I've been using it well till now when I observed that the setting innerHTML on a div is taking increasing amount of time because of the onClicks or other JS methods that are attached to the anchors and images in the dynamic HTML. Appears the JS methods or the HTML is some how not getting cleaned up properly (memory leak?)     Hello, I am trying to create a HeaderedItemsControl where the headers are frozen. In an attempt to accomplish this, I have been trying to build on the default control template generated by Blend. A JavaScript error bubbles up that says: Error: Unhandled Error in Silverlight Application Code: 2012 Category: ParserError Message: Unknown attribute Content on element ContentControl. File: Line: 6 Position: 107 Source File: http://localhost:2995/ Line: 60 I noticed that this error appears as long as either Content="{TemplateBinding Header}" or ContentTemplate="{TemplateBinding HeaderTemplate}" exist in the ControlTemplate. If I remove both of those, the items appear just fine (but no header). I tried with a simple header that was just a TextBlock and I still received the error. What am I doing wrong? How do I get the Header to display within the ControlTemplate?

  • Positioning SVG Elements

    In the course of toying with SVG for the first time (using the Raphael library), I've run into a problem positioning dynamic elements on the canvas in such a way that they're completely contained within the canvas. What I'm trying to do is randomly position n words/short phrases. Since the text is variable, its position needs to be variable as well so what I'm doing is: Initially creating the text at point 0,0 with no opacity. Checking the width of the drawn text element using text.getBBox().width. Setting a new x coordinate as Math.random() * (canvas_width - ( text_width/2 ) - pad). Altering the x coordinate of the text to the newly set value (text.attr( 'x', x ) ). Setting the opacity attribute of the text to 1. I'll be the first to admit that my math acumen is limited, but this seems pretty straightforward. Somehow, I still end up with text running off beyond the right edge of my canvas. For simplicity above, I removed the bit that also sets a minimum x value by adding it to the Math.random() result. It is there, though, and I see the same problem on the leading edge of the canvas. My understanding (such as it is), is that the Math.random() bits would generate a number between 0 and 1 which could then be multiplied by some number (in my case, the canvas width - half of the text width - some arbitrary padding) to get the outer bound. I'm dividing the width of the text in half because its position on the grid is set at its center. I hope I've just been staring at this for too long, but is my math that rusty or am I misunderstanding something about the behavior of Math.random(), SVG, text or anything else that's under the hood of this solution?

  • YUI DataTable - Howto have just one paginator?

    Hello, I'm using the YUI DataTable in a Grails 1.1 project using the Grails UI plugin 1.0.2 (YUI being 2.6.1). By default, the DataTable displays 2 paginators: one above and another one below the table. Looking up the YUI API documentation, I could see that I can pass an array of YUI containers as a config parameter but - what are the names of these containers? I've tried loooking at the HTML of the page using Firebug. The ID of the divs containing the paginators are: yui-dt0-paginator0 (above) and yui-dt0-paginator1 (below). If I use them to configure the containers for the navigator, then the navigator is just not displayed at all.   • YUI: ensuring DOM elements and scripts are ready

    If I put my inline script after the DOM elements it interacts with, should I still use YUI 3's domready event? I haven't noticed any problems, and it seems like I can count on the browser loading the page sequentially. (I already use YUI().use('node', ... to make sure the YUI functions I need have been loaded since the YUI script is a separate file.) Is there a way to speed up the loading of widgets like YUI 2's calendar? I load the appropriate script in <head> element of my page. I use YUI().use('yui2-calendar', ... to make sure the Calendar widget is available. Unfortunately, this causes a short but noticeable delay when I load my page with the calendar. If I omit the YUI().use('yui2-calendar', ... code then it shows up without a noticeable delay - but I guess this could cause the Calendar to not show up at all if the YUI script doesn't load in time? With regards to #2, is it possible to reduce the visual artifact of the calendar not being present and then showing up? I've made it slightly better by specifying a height and width for the parent div so that at least the space is already allocated = minimal shifting around when it does load.

    I am using an ItemsControl where the ItemsPanel is set to Canvas (see this question for more background information). The ItemsControl is performing as I want, and it works like a charm when adding a child element manually by putting it into ItemsControl.Items: <ItemsControl> <ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsPanelTemplate> <Canvas IsItemsHost="True" /> </ItemsPanelTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsControl.Items> <Button Canvas.Left="500" Content="Button Text" /> </ItemsControl.Items> </ItemsControl> Note the Canvas.Left property on the Button. This works like a charm, and the Button is placed 500 pixels from the left of the ItemsControl left side. Great! However, When I am defining a ItemsSource binding to a List, the Canvas.left doesn't have any effect: <ItemsControl ItemsSource="{Binding Elements}"> <ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsPanelTemplate> <Canvas IsItemsHost="True" /> </ItemsPanelTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Button Canvas.Left="500" Content="Button Text" /> </DataTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> </ItemsControl> By inspecting the application during run time, I see one difference. The container ContentPresenter has been added between the Canvas and the button.. How can I set the Canvas.Left property on the ContentPresenter itself? Or is there another way to solve this problem?     I would like to generate JAXB Java classes using the Maven JAXB 2.x plugin http://static.highsource.org/mjiip/maven-jaxb2-plugin/generate-mojo.html To declare the custom JAXB plugins I would execute during the generate process, I used the "args" element like below: <plugin> <groupId>org.jvnet.jaxb2.maven2</groupId> <artifactId>maven-jaxb2-plugin</artifactId> <version>0.7.4</version> <executions> <execution> <goals> <goal>generate</goal> </goals> </execution> </executions> <configuration> <extension>true</extension> <args> <arg>-Xinheritance</arg> <arg>-XtoString</arg> </args> ... </configuration> ... </plugin> The issue is that the maven generate process is failing with the following error: Failed to execute goal org.jvnet.jaxb2.maven2:maven-jaxb2-plugin:0.7.4:generate (default) on project was: Error parsing the command line [[Ljava.lang.String;@1ad4a1ae] Any idea on how to specify the args values?   • How have you successfully implemented MessageBox.Show() functionality in MVVM?

    I've got a WPF application which calls MessageBox.Show() way back in the ViewModel (to check if the user really wants to delete). This actually works, but goes against the grain of MVVM since the ViewModel should not explicitly determine what happens on the View. So now I am thinking how can I best implement the MessageBox.Show() functionality in my MVVM application, options: I could have a message with the text "Are you sure...?" along with two buttons Yes and No all in a Border in my XAML, and create a trigger on the template so that it is collapsed/visible based on a ViewModelProperty called AreYourSureDialogueBoxIsVisible, and then when I need this dialogue box, assign AreYourSureDialogueBoxIsVisible to "true", and also handle the two buttons via DelegateCommand back in my ViewModel. I could also somehow try to handle this with triggers in XAML so that the Delete button actually just makes some Border element appear with the message and buttons in it, and the Yes button did the actually deleting. Both solutions seem to be too complex for what used to be a couple lines of code with MessageBox.Show(). In what ways have you successfully implemented Dialogue Boxes in your MVVM applications?

I write code <xsl:value-of select="exsl:node-set($rtf)[position() = 3]"/> and get a response error. How to do it right?

  • Synchronize DataGrid and DataForm in Silverlight 3

    I've been banging my head against the wall for a couple of days on this and it's time to ask for help. I've got a DataGrid and DataForm on the same UserControl. I'm using an MVVM approach so there is a single ViewModel for the UserControl. That ViewModel has a couple of properties that are relevant to this discussion: public ObservableCollection<VehicleViewModel> Vehicles { get; private set; } public VehicleViewModel SelectedVehicle { get { return selectedVehicle; } private set { selectedVehicle = value; OnPropertyChanged( "SelectedVehicle" ); } } In the XAML I've got the DataGrid and DataForm defined as follows: <data:DataGrid SelectionMode="Single" ItemsSource="{Binding Vehicles}" SelectedItem="{Binding SelectedVehicle, Mode=TwoWay}" AutoGenerateColumns="False" IsReadOnly="True"> <dataFormToolkit:DataForm CurrentItem="{Binding SelectedVehicle}" /> So as the SelectedItem changes on the DataGrid it should push that change back to the ViewModel and when the ViewModel raises the OnPropertyChanged the DataForm should refresh itself with the information for the newly-selected VehicleViewModel. However, the setter for SelectedVehicle is never being called and in the Output window of VS I'm seeing the following error: System.Windows.Data Error: ConvertBack cannot convert value 'xxxx.ViewModel.VehicleViewModel' (type 'xxxx.ViewModel.VehicleViewModel'). BindingExpression: Path='SelectedVehicle' DataItem='xxxx.ViewModel.MainViewModel' (HashCode=31664161); target element is 'System.Windows.Controls.DataGrid' (Name=''); target property is 'SelectedItem' (type 'System.Object').. System.MethodAccessException: xxxx.ViewModel.MainViewModel.set_SelectedVehicle(xxxx.ViewModel.VehicleViewModel) It sounds like it's having a problem converting from a VehicleViewModel to an object (or back again), but I'm confused as to why that would be (or even if I'm on the right track with that assumption). Each row/item in the DataGrid should be a VehicleViewModel (because the ItemsSource is bound to an ObservableCollection of that type), so when the SelectedItem changes it should be dealing with an instance of VehicleViewModel. Any insight would be appreciated.

  • Using maven-release-plugin to tag and commit to non-origin

    When I do a release of my project, I want to share the source with a wider group of people than I normally do during development. The code is shared via a Git repository. To do this, I have used the following: remote public repository - released code is pushed here, every week or so (http://example.com/public) remote private repository - non-release code is pushed here, more than daily (http://example.com/private) In my local git repository, I have the following remotes defined: origin http://example.com/private public http://example.com/public I am currently trying to configure the maven-release-plugin to manage versioning of the builds, and to manage tagging and pushing of code to the public repository. In my pom.xml, I have listed the <scm/ as follows: <scm><connection>scm:git:http://example.com/public</connection></scm> (Removing this line will cause mvn release:prepare to fail) However, when calling mvn release:clean release:prepare release:perform Maven calls git push origin tagname rather than pushing to the URL specified in the POM. So the questions are: Best practice: Should I just be tagging and committing in my private repo (origin), and pushing to public manually? Can I make Maven push to the repository that I choose, rather than defaulting to origin? I felt this was implied by the requirement of the <connection/ element in <scm/.
