  • Efficient list compacting

    - by Patrik
    Suppose you have a list of unsigned ints. Suppose some elements are equal to 0 and you want to push them back. Currently I use this code (list is a pointer to a list of unsigned ints of size n for (i = 0; i < n; ++i) { if (list[i]) continue; int j; for (j = i + 1; j < n && !list[j]; ++j); int z; for (z = j + 1; z < n && list[z]; ++z); if (j == n) break; memmove(&(list[i]), &(list[j]), sizeof(unsigned int) * (z - j))); int s = z - j + i; for(j = s; j < z; ++j) list[j] = 0; i = s - 1; } Can you think of a more efficient way to perform this task? The snippet is purely theoretical, in the production code, each element of list is a 64 bytes struct EDIT: I'll post my solution. Many thanks to Jonathan Leffler. void RemoveDeadParticles(int * list, int * n) { int i, j = *n - 1; for (; j >= 0 && list[j] == 0; --j); for (i = 0; i < j; ++i) { if (list[i]) continue; memcpy(&(list[i]), &(list[j]), sizeof(int)); list[j] = 0; for (; j >= 0 && list[j] == 0; --j); if (i == j) break; } *n = i + 1; }

  • Translate C# code into AST?

    - by Erik Forbes
    Is it currently possible to translate C# code into an Abstract Syntax Tree? Edit: some clarification; I don't necessarily expect the compiler to generate the AST for me - a parser would be fine, although I'd like to use something "official." Lambda expressions are unfortunately not going to be sufficient given they don't allow me to use statement bodies, which is what I'm looking for.

  • add assembly reference dialog

    - by codymanix
    Is there a way to use visual studio's "add assembly reference dialog" (or something similar) in my own application? I need it for dynamic code generation and compilation. This is not simply an OpenFileDialog, since it additionally looks into the GAC and so on, so it will be very complicated to do it on my own, I think. If this is not possible, how can I get a list of all assemblies from the GAC?

  • Can this jQuery code snippet be shortened?

    - by David Vidmar
    I have just stared using jQuery and although following code gets the job done, I have a feeling that it can be shortened. var accountAddress = $(document.createElement("input")).addClass("readOnly").attr("contentEditable", "false").attr("id", "d_accountAddress"); $("#customerid_c").next().next().next().append(accountAddress); If it is not clear - what I'm doing is creating new input tag, assigning class and making it readonly, then positioning new input two TD's to the right of some known text.

  • Execute process conditionally in Windows PowerShell (e.g. the && and || operators in Bash)

    - by Dustin
    I'm wondering if anybody knows of a way to conditionally execute a program depending on the exit success/failure of the previous program. Is there any way for me to execute a program2 immediately after program1 if program1 exits successfully without testing the LASTEXITCODE variable? I tried the -band and -and operators to no avail, though I had a feeling they wouldn't work anyway, and the best substitute is a combination of a semicolon and an if statement. I mean, when it comes to building a package somewhat automatically from source on Linux, the && operator can't be beaten: # Configure a package, compile it and install it ./configure && make && sudo make install PowerShell would require me to do the following, assuming I could actually use the same build system in PowerShell: # Configure a package, compile it and install it .\configure ; if ($LASTEXITCODE -eq 0) { make ; if ($LASTEXITCODE -eq 0) { sudo make install } } Sure, I could use multiple lines, save it in a file and execute the script, but the idea is for it to be concise (save keystrokes). Perhaps it's just a difference between PowerShell and Bash (and even the built-in Windows command prompt which supports the && operator) I'll need to adjust to, but if there's a cleaner way to do it, I'd love to know.

  • Is this ruby code thread safe?

    - by Ben K.
    Is this code threadsafe? It seems like it should be, because @myvar will never be assigned from multiple threads (assuming block completes in < 1s). But do I need to be worried about a situation where the second block is trying to read @myvar as it's being written? require 'rubygems' require 'eventmachine' @myvar = Time.now.to_i EventMachine.run do EventMachine.add_periodic_timer(1) do EventMachine.defer do @myvar = Time.now.to_i # some calculation and reassign end end EventMachine.add_periodic_timer(0.5) do puts @myvar end end

    I'm looking for the best idea for what to do while code is compiling or tests are running. Typically around 5 minutes of thumb twiddling. Only so many cups of coffee can be made and drunk in a day, and I don't want to be seen always in the kitchen or bothering other people.

  • How can I programmatically drop a SQL Server database from .NET code

    - by Craig Shearer
    I'm trying to drop a SQL Server database from .NET code. I've tried using the SMO classes but get an exception saying the database is in use. Then I tried executing a query (opening a SqlConnection, executing a SqlCommand), along the lines of: ALTER DATABASE foo SET SINGLE_USER WITH ROLLBACK IMMEDIATE (pause) DROP DATABASE foo But still I get an exception saying the database is in use. How do I do this? (Or, how does SQL Server Management Studio implement the Drop database and close existing connections?)

  • Problem adding Viewport2DVisual3D from Code

    I'm trying to add a Viewport2DVisual3D to a Viewport3D in code, but the visual isn't showing up. Any help understanding why not would be appreciated. The following is the code for the main window. Is it sufficient to just add the Viewport2DVisual3D to the children of the Viewport3D in order for it to be rendered? public partial class Window1 : System.Windows.Window { public Window1() { InitializeComponent(); this.Loaded += new RoutedEventHandler(temp); } public void temp(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { Viewport2DVisual3D test = new Viewport2DVisual3D(); MeshGeometry3D testGeometry = new MeshGeometry3D(); Vector3D CameraLookDirection = Main_Target_CameraOR20.LookDirection; // Calculate the Positions based on the Camera Point3DCollection myPoint3DCollection = new Point3DCollection(); myPoint3DCollection.Add(new Point3D(-1, 1, 0)); myPoint3DCollection.Add(new Point3D(-1, -1, 0)); myPoint3DCollection.Add(new Point3D(1, -1, 0)); myPoint3DCollection.Add(new Point3D(1, 1, 0)); testGeometry.Positions = myPoint3DCollection; PointCollection myPointCollection = new PointCollection(); myPointCollection.Add(new Point(0, 0)); myPointCollection.Add(new Point(0, 1)); myPointCollection.Add(new Point(1, 1)); myPointCollection.Add(new Point(1, 0)); testGeometry.TextureCoordinates = myPointCollection; Int32Collection triangleIndicesCollection = new Int32Collection(); triangleIndicesCollection.Add(0); triangleIndicesCollection.Add(1); triangleIndicesCollection.Add(2); triangleIndicesCollection.Add(2); triangleIndicesCollection.Add(3); triangleIndicesCollection.Add(0); testGeometry.TriangleIndices = triangleIndicesCollection; DiffuseMaterial myDiffuseMaterial = new DiffuseMaterial(Brushes.White); Viewport2DVisual3D.SetIsVisualHostMaterial(myDiffuseMaterial, true); Transform3DGroup myTransform3DGroup = new Transform3DGroup(); ScaleTransform3D myScaleTransform3D = new ScaleTransform3D(); myScaleTransform3D.ScaleX = 2; myScaleTransform3D.ScaleY = 2; myScaleTransform3D.ScaleZ = 2; TranslateTransform3D myTranslateTransform3D = new TranslateTransform3D(); myTranslateTransform3D.OffsetX = -27; myTranslateTransform3D.OffsetY = 13; myTranslateTransform3D.OffsetZ = 6; RotateTransform3D rotateTransform = new RotateTransform3D() { Rotation = new AxisAngleRotation3D { Angle = -50, Axis = new Vector3D(0, 1, 0) } }; myTransform3DGroup.Children.Add(myTranslateTransform3D); myTransform3DGroup.Children.Add(myScaleTransform3D); myTransform3DGroup.Children.Add(rotateTransform); test.Transform = myTransform3DGroup; Button myButton = new Button(); myButton.Content = "Test Button"; test.Material = myDiffuseMaterial; test.Geometry = testGeometry; test.Visual = myButton; ZAM3DViewport3D.Children.Add(test); } }

But I don't want my theme to work like this. I just wanted to know if there are any guides/blog post/tutorials telling about writing PHP code which is mod_security friendly? I tried Google, but didn't find anything helpful.

  • Reflect and Load code at design time in Visual Studio

    - by Stacey
    I have an XML file that lists a series of items, and the items are often referenced by their name in code. Is there any way to use reflection within Visual Studio to make this list 'accessible' sort of like intellisence? I've seen it done before - and I'm pretty sure it's ridiculously difficult, but I figure it can't hurt to at least ask.

  • Python/Biomolecular Physics- Trying to code a simple stochastic simulation of a system exhibiting co

    - by user359597
    *edited 6/17/10 I'm trying to understand how to improve my code (make it more pythonic). Also, I'm interested in writing more intuitive 'conditionals' that would describe scenarios that are commonplace in biochemistry. The conditional criteria in the below program is explained in Answer #2, but I am not satisfied with it- it is correct, but isn't obvious and isn't easy to implement for more complicated conditional scenarios. Ideas welcome. Comments/criticisms welcome. First posting experience @ stackoverflow- please comment on etiquette if needed. The code generates a list of values that are the solution to the following exercise: "In a programming language of your choice, implement Gillespie’s First Reaction Algorithm to study the temporal behaviour of the reaction A---B in which the transition from A to B can only take place if another compound, C, is present, and where C dynamically interconverts with D, as modelled in the Petri-net below. Assume that there are 100 molecules of A, 1 of C, and no B or D present at the start of the reaction. Set kAB to 0.1 s-1 and both kCD and kDC to 1.0 s-1. Simulate the behaviour of the system over 100 s." def sim(): # Set the rate constants for all transitions kAB = 0.1 kCD = 1.0 kDC = 1.0 # Set up the initial state A = 100 B = 0 C = 1 D = 0 # Set the start and end times t = 0.0 tEnd = 100.0 print "Time\t", "Transition\t", "A\t", "B\t", "C\t", "D" # Compute the first interval transition, interval = transitionData(A, B, C, D, kAB, kCD, kDC) # Loop until the end time is exceded or no transition can fire any more while t <= tEnd and transition >= 0: print t, '\t', transition, '\t', A, '\t', B, '\t', C, '\t', D t += interval if transition == 0: A -= 1 B += 1 if transition == 1: C -= 1 D += 1 if transition == 2: C += 1 D -= 1 transition, interval = transitionData(A, B, C, D, kAB, kCD, kDC) def transitionData(A, B, C, D, kAB, kCD, kDC): """ Returns nTransition, the number of the firing transition (0: A->B, 1: C->D, 2: D->C), and interval, the interval between the time of the previous transition and that of the current one. • Endianness conversion and g++ warnings

    - by SuperBloup
    I've got the following C++ code : template <int isBigEndian, typename val> struct EndiannessConv { inline static val fromLittleEndianToHost( val v ) { union { val outVal __attribute__ ((used)); uint8_t bytes[ sizeof( val ) ] __attribute__ ((used)); } ; outVal = v; std::reverse( &bytes[0], &bytes[ sizeof(val) ] ); return outVal; } inline static void convertArray( val v[], uint32_t size ) { // TODO : find a way to map the array for (uint32_t i = 0; i < size; i++) for (uint32_t i = 0; i < size; i++) v[i] = fromLittleEndianToHost( v[i] ); } }; Which work and has been tested (without the used attributes). When compiling I obtain the following errors from g++ (version 4.4.1) || g++ -Wall -Wextra -O3 -o t t.cc || t.cc: In static member function 'static val EndiannessConv<isBigEndian, val>::fromLittleEndianToHost(val)': t.cc|98| warning: 'used' attribute ignored t.cc|99| warning: 'used' attribute ignored || t.cc: In static member function 'static val EndiannessConv<isBigEndian, val>::fromLittleEndianToHost(val) [with int isBigEndian = 1, val = double]': t.cc|148| instantiated from here t.cc|100| warning: unused variable 'outVal' t.cc|100| warning: unused variable 'bytes' I've tried to use the following code : template <int size, typename valType> struct EndianInverser { /* should not compile */ }; template <typename valType> struct EndianInverser<4, valType> { static inline valType reverseEndianness( const valType &val ) { uint32_t castedVal = *reinterpret_cast<const uint32_t*>( &val ); castedVal = (castedVal & 0x000000FF << (3 * 8)) | (castedVal & 0x0000FF00 << (1 * 8)) | (castedVal & 0x00FF0000 >> (1 * 8)) | (castedVal & 0xFF000000 >> (3 * 8)); return *reinterpret_cast<valType*>( &castedVal ); } }; but it break when enabling optimizations due to the type punning. So, why does my used attribute got ignored? Is there a workaround to convert endianness (I rely on the enum to avoid type punning) in templates?

  • Android NDK import-module / code reuse

    - by Graeme
    Morning! I've created a small NDK project which allows dynamic serialisation of objects between Java and C++ through JNI. The logic works like this: Bean - JavaCInterface.Java - JavaCInterface.cpp - JavaCInterface.java - Bean The problem is I want to use this functionality in other projects. I separated out the test code from the project and created a "Tester" project. The tester project sends a Java object through to C++ which then echo's it back to the Java layer. I thought linking would be pretty simple - ("Simple" in terms of NDK/JNI is usually a day of frustration) I added the JNIBridge project as a source project and including the following lines to Android.mk: NDK_MODULE_PATH=.../JNIBridge/jni/" JNIBridge/jni/JavaCInterface/Android.mk: ... include $(BUILD_STATIC_LIBRARY) JNITester/jni/Android.mk: ... include $(BUILD_SHARED_LIBRARY) $(call import-module, JavaCInterface) This all works fine. The C++ files which rely on headers from JavaCInterface module work fine. Also the Java classes can happily use interfaces from JNIBridge project. All the linking is happy. Unfortunately JavaCInterface.java which contains the native method calls cannot see the JNI method located in the static library. (Logically they are in the same project but both are imported into the project where you wish to use them through the above mechanism). My current solutions are are follows. I'm hoping someone can suggest something that will preserve the modular nature of what I'm trying to achieve: My current solution would be to include the JavaCInterface cpp files in the calling project like so: LOCAL_SRC_FILES := FunctionTable.cpp $(PATH_TO_SHARED_PROJECT)/JavaCInterface.cpp But I'd rather not do this as it would lead to me needing to update each depending project if I changed the JavaCInterface architecture. I could create a new set of JNI method signatures in each local project which then link to the imported modules. Again, this binds the implementations too tightly.

  • Can I get the original page source (vs current DOM) with phantomjs/casperjs?

    - by supercoco
    I am trying to get the original source for a particular web page. The page executes some scripts that modify the DOM as soon as it loads. I would like to get the source before any script or user changes any object in the document. With Chrome or Firefox (and probably most browsers) I can either look at the DOM (debug utility F12) or look at the original source (right-click, view source). The latter is what I want to accomplish. Is it possible to do this with phantomjs/casperjs? Before getting to the page I have to log in. This is working fine with casperjs. If I browse to the page and render the results I know I am on the right page. casper.thenOpen('http://'+customUrl, function(response) { this.page.render('example.png'); // *** Renders correct page (current DOM) *** console.log(this.page.content); // *** Gets current DOM *** casper.download('view-source:'+customUrl, 'b.html', 'GET'); // *** Blank page *** console.log(this.getHTML()); // *** Gets current DOM *** this.debugPage(); // *** Gets current DOM *** utils.dump(response); // *** No BODY *** casper.download('http://'+customUrl, 'a.html', 'GET'); // *** Not logged in ?! *** }); I've tried this.download(url, 'a.html') but it doesn't seem to share the same context since it returns HTML as if I was not logged in, even if I run with cookies casperjs test.casper.js --cookies-file=cookies.txt. I believe I should keep analyzing this option. I have also tried casper.open('view-source:url') instead of casper.open('http://url') but it seems it doesn't recognize the url since I just get a blank page. I have looked at the raw HTTP Response I get from the server with a utility I have and the body of this message (which is HTML) is what I need but when the page loads in the browser the DOM has already been modified. I tried: casper.thenOpen('http://'+url, function(response) { ... } But the response object only contains the headers and some other information but not the body. ¿Any ideas? Here is the full code: phantom.casperTest = true; phantom.cookiesEnabled = true; var utils = require('utils'); var casper = require('casper').create({ clientScripts: [], pageSettings: { loadImages: false, loadPlugins: false, javascriptEnabled: true, webSecurityEnabled: false }, logLevel: "error", verbose: true }); casper.userAgent('Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X)'); casper.start('http://www.xxxxxxx.xxx/login'); casper.waitForSelector('input#login', function() { this.evaluate(function(customLogin, customPassword) { document.getElementById("login").value = customLogin; document.getElementById("password").value = customPassword; document.getElementById("button").click(); }, { "customLogin": customLogin, "customPassword": customPassword }); }, function() { console.log('Can't login.'); }, 15000 ); casper.waitForSelector('div#home', function() { console.log('Login successfull.'); }, function() { console.log('Login failed.'); }, 15000 ); casper.thenOpen('http://'+customUrl, function(response) { this.page.render('example.png'); // *** Renders correct page (current DOM) *** console.log(this.page.content); // *** Gets current DOM *** casper.download('view-source:'+customUrl, 'b.html', 'GET'); // *** Blank page *** console.log(this.getHTML()); // *** Gets current DOM *** this.debugPage(); // *** Gets current DOM *** utils.dump(response); // *** No BODY *** casper.download('http://'+customUrl, 'a.html', 'GET'); // *** Not logged in ?! *** });
