  • Iptables ignoring a rule in the config file

    I see lot of established connections to my apache server from the ip 188.241.114.22 which eventually causes apache to hang . After I restart the service everything works fine. I tried adding a rule in iptables -A INPUT -s 188.241.114.22 -j DROP but despite that I keep seeing connections from that IP.   • openVPN as a way to connect to a LAN by another client, different from server

    Setup: one LAN handled by a router without a publicly available IP address but without any outbound connection restrictions ("target LAN"); a separate server publicly reachable from the Internet ("gateway"). I am trying to set up openVPN so that a third client can connect to the "gateway" and access the "target LAN". As the router of "target LAN" is not reachable from the Internet directly, it connects to the gateway itself via openVPN as well. The problem is how to handle routing. The LAN router has two network interfaces (for the outside network and the LAN itself). In openVPN (the server on the gateway) I set client-to-client and push "route 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0" but I assume this would be horribly wrong (it actually messed up the routing on the LAN router until I killed openVPN). openVPN is not using bridging, is configured via tun. Other config details from the server server 10.8.0.0 255.255.255.0 client-config-dir ccd route 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0 And the client file in ccd is iroute 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0 What can be adjusted to ensure that a third client can connect through openVPN and access the LAN mentioned earlier?

  • Nginx Ubuntu Postfix Config - Can't connect to incoming IMAP server 'server not responding' but can send mail via outgoing using same details?

    I'm pretty to new server admin and especially nginx but seem to be getting ok fine apart from accessing my mail via my iPhone? I've changed my domain to 'domain.com' The thing is I can send mail via my outgoing IMAP server but can't connect to the incoming one? I recently moves servers and the host has set the primary domain on the service as new-domain.com so this may be the issue? Like I said, it works to connect to outgoing server, but incoming gets the not responding error? Any idea would be much appreciated!

In this situation, is there any advantage to using one or the other? Assume Windows 7 for the OS, disregarding backward-compatibility (prior to Vista, symlinks are not supported). Update I have found another difference. Symbolic Link - Link's permissions only affect delete/rename operations on the link itself, read/write access (to the target) is governed by the target's permissions Junction - Junction's permissions affect enumeration, revoking permissions on the junction will deny file listing through that junction, even if the target folder has more permissive ACLs The permissions make it interesting, as symlinks can allow legacy applications to access configuration files in UAC-restricted areas (such as %ProgramFiles%) without changing existing access permissions, by storing the files in a non-restricted location and creating symlinks in the restricted directory.

  • iptables blank after reboot

    We've started encountering an issue with iptables on our RHEL 6.3 systems in that after a reboot, when the service starts, the rules are not loaded. We get the empty ruleset: [msnyder@matt-test ~]$ sudo iptables -L Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination This is in spite of the fact that we have rules defined and the service is, indeed, running. That I know because when I run service iptables start it simply drops back to the prompt. If I run service iptables restart it actually stops and then restarts the service. And, of course, if I run service iptables stop it indicates that iptables is actually stopping. Knowing that I need to restart the service, I do so and the rules load up properly. They simply don't get loaded after a reboot. Unless they get loaded differently during a reboot I don't see how our rules would be wrong. If they were, they wouldn't even load during a service restart. Has anyone else ever encountered this? EDIT: The rules are already saved in /etc/sysconfig/iptables. They are not added on the fly from the command line so service iptables save is unnecessary.

    I would like to cache the response of an redirect. (Cache the request to some site which returns a redirect and cache the second request which returns the actual content.)     I'm running a local dns server on port 5300 to develop a software. I need my machine to use that dns but I wasn't able to tell /etc/resolv.conf to check on a different port. I searched a bit on google and I didn't find a solution. I set 127.0.0.1 as nameserver on /etc/resolv.conf. This is my whole /etc/resolv.conf: nameserver 127.0.0.1 Could you please tell me how can I redirect outbound traffic on port 53 to another port?     Hi, I'm requesting data from a server which returns data in the JSON format. Casting a HashMap into JSON when making the request wasn't hard at all but the other way seems to be a little tricky.     I'm running Windows Server 2008 64-bit "workstation" and would like to get corflags.exe. Which SDK do I need to download? Edit: I know about .NET Framework 2.0 Software Development Kit (SDK) (x64) and Windows SDK for Windows Server 2008 and .NET Framework 3.5 but I was hoping to find something smaller as these are quite large downloads. Also the note about 2.0 SDK seems to suggest to download the 3.5 one, should I follow that?

The script was written for assemblies built against .NET 2 (the same version of the framework that PowerShell runs with), but now needs to work with .NET 4 assemblies as well as .NET 2 assemblies. Since .NET 4 supports running applications built against older versions of the framework, it seems like the simplest solution is to launch PowerShell with the .NET 4 runtime when I need to run it against .NET 4 assemblies. How can I run PowerShell with the .NET 4 runtime?

Any idea why is this error coming? Actually first i created a Enterprise application and everything seemed to work fine. But then, i copied files from my enterprise application's ejb module to a separate module and since then these errors are coming.     Hi, I'm using the 1kb css grid framework for a site, and although nested rows are apparently supported by the framework, when I try to drop in a nested row it doesn't work! After googling for Gallio integration with Team City I tried many ways to make this thing work and I think I am close but need help.     Dear Everyone I have tried the Orange Framework for Naive Bayesian classification. The methods are extremely unintuitive, and the documentation is extremely unorganized. Does anyone here have another framework to recommend? I use mostly NaiveBayesian for now. I was thinking of using nltk's NaiveClassification but then they don't think they can handle continuous variables. What are my options?

    I've thrown together some code to tinker with the new .Net 4.0/VS 2010 pieces, but I can't seem to find a build of my logging framework of choice (log4net) for 4.0, and I'm getting reference errors with the 2.0 version. Is there a 4.0 version available somewhere? I'm not asking for new features, just a version that's already been rebuilt against the new assemblies. Anyone know where I can find a build of 1.2.10 built for the 4.0 framework?
