  • search solution to integrate community mailing-lists into a website on shared hosting

    The community (300 members), cocktailnetwork, has a website, cocktailnetwork.eu and about ten mailing lists. We want to manage the mailing lists from inside the website (lists and subscribers) and link the list's informations with the member profiles on the site. We are on shared hosting. The community members use the lists to send mails to all other members / groups of members. They can subscribe / unsubscribe from a list. The administrators can in addition create / delete / modify lists. Right now I use ezmlm with QmailAdmin, the lists are completly seperated from the website. I could link the data via remote administration commands, but that's not very satisfactory, does not allow the creation of new lists and it's an deprecated feature of our hosting package, sooner or later we'll need to switch anyway. Do You know of an elegant solution for us ? Any web service with a good, stable API ? Thanks.

    Hey all, I've seen there is a datastore backup utility by "Aral Balkan" ( http://code.google.com/intl/iw-IL/appengine/articles/gae_backup_and_restore.html ). However, this utility is only applicable for Django framework and not webapp. Is there any utility out there for webapp as well? Thanks Joel

  • BST insert operation. don't insert a node if a duplicate exists already

    the following code reads an input array, and constructs a BST from it. if the current arr[i] is a duplicate, of a node in the tree, then arr[i] is discarded. count in the struct node refers to the number of times a number appears in the array. fi refers to the first index of the element found in the array. after the insertion, i am doing a post-order traversal of the tree and printing the data, count and index (in this order). the output i am getting when i run this code is: 0 0 7 0 0 6 thank you for your help.   • Problem using date when querying the appengine datastore

    I'm running this query: SELECT FROM com.Data WHERE entryDate DATE('2010-3-16') I get this error: org.datanucleus.store.appengine.query.DatastoreQuery$UnsupportedDatastoreFeatureException: Problem with query DATE('2010-3-16'): Unsupported method while parsing expression: InvokeExpression{[null].DATE(Literal{2010-3-16})} The same query works when I use it on the admin console. But it does not work for code (java), either locally or when deployed. Any ideas?

  • find and replace values in a flat-file using PHP

    I'd think there was a question on this already, but I can't find one. Maybe the solution is too easy... Anyway, I have a flat-file and want to let the user change the values based on a name. I've already sorted out creating new name+value-pairs using the fopen('a') mode, using jQuery to send the AJAX call with newValue and newName. But say the content looks like this: host|http:www.stackoverflow.com folder|/questions/ folder2|/users/ And now I want to change the folder value. So I'll send in folder as oldName and /tags/ as newValue. What's the best way to overwrite the value? The order in the list doesn't matter, and the name will always be on the left, followed by a |(pipe), the value and then a new-line. My first thought was to read the list, store it in an array, search all the [0]'s for oldName, then change the [1] that belongs to it, and then write it back to a file. But I feel there is a better way around this? Any ideas? Maybe regex?

  • Compute hash of class code at runtime (C#)?

    Is it possible to compute the hash of a class at runtime in C# (presumably through reflection)? To be clear, I don't want to compute the hashcode of an instance of said class, I want to compute the hash of the class code itself (if a function in the class changes, I'd expect a different hash code to be computed). Ideally this would only be sensitive to changes in the object code (and not just a hash of the string representation of the code itself). Thanks in advance for your help, -- Breck

  • Notepad++ Search & Replace with Regular Expressions

    I know its simple, but I can't get it to work... I have a strings like {span style="display:none"}123{/span} and {span style="display:none"}456{/span} and {span style="display:none"}789{/span} in a file. I want to remove all of these string. So, I thought a simple regular expression replace in NotePad++ should be like "{span style="display:none"}[(.)]{/span}" - but, this is not working. Thank for your help!

    Dont know if SO is the appropriate place to ask this question, but anyway ... I have some sites running Wordpress and maintaining/managing them is a pain. Is there any CMS or blogging platform out there that support multiple sites/blogs in one codebase ? I know there are some hacks for Wordpress but they are quite ugly and do not scale (i need 100-1000 blogs supported). WPMU AFAIK run with subdomains only. Thanks in advance.

    Hello, I have designed a trading application that handles customers stocks investment portfolio. I am using two datastore kinds: Stocks - Contains unique stock name and its daily percent change. UserTransactions - Contains information regarding a specific purchase of a stock made by a user : the value of the purchase along with a reference to Stock for the current purchase. db.Model python modules: class Stocks (db.Model): stockname = db.StringProperty(multiline=True) dailyPercentChange=db.FloatProperty(default=1.0) class UserTransactions (db.Model): buyer = db.UserProperty() value=db.FloatProperty() stockref = db.ReferenceProperty(Stocks) Once an hour I need to update the database: update the daily percent change in Stocks and then update the value of all entities in UserTransactions that refer to that stock. In the dashboard, I see that the task.py takes around 65% of the CPU (Stock.py takes around 20%-30%) and I am using almost all of the 6.5 free CPU hours given to me by app engine. I have no problem to enable billing and pay for additional CPU, but the problem is the scaling of the system… Using 6.5 CPU hours for 100 stocks is very poor. I was wondering, given the requirements of the system as mentioned above, if there is a better and more efficient implementation (or just a small change that can help with the current implemntation) than the one presented here.   • HTML Rendering Engine as a Java Control

    Hi All, We have a client side application (Java/Swing) that we need an HTML rendering control for. What I want to find is the most widely adopted, most heavily developed, easiest to deploy solution to get Gecko or WebKit into a Swing app (Needs to run OS X and Windows). The limited (crappy?) JEditPane type solutions are not robust enough for our needs. We would really like to use either WebKit or Gecko. Some libraries seems to exist that would allow this: (QT WebKit) http://trac.webkit.org/wiki/QtWebKit (JRex) [can not post URL because I am new] etc. Whats the best library to achieve this?
