  • Listview...how to conditionally replace a value with a string

    - by GaryAmundson
Hi, my app presents a listview, from a database cursor and XML, that needs to replace the values in a column with various words based on the integer value contained in the cursor. For example, if the value is -1, replace it with the word "Invalid", but if the value is = 0 then just display the value. I was under the impression this could magically be done via XML... TIA.

  • Library to edit odt documents in php

    - by neo
I try to edit ODT-documents programmaticly in PHP. In fact I just want to do some text replacement and adding new rows in a table. I know that a normal ODF document is an archive containing XML-files. But before I reinvent the wheel: is there any library which does most of the tasks? Or should I just parse the XML-file in a DOM-parser and modify it?

  • WCF Service returning 400 error: The body of the message cannot be read because it is empty

    - by Josh
I have a WCF service that is causing a bit of a headache. I have tracing enabled, I have an object with a data contract being built and passed in, but I am seeing this error in the log: <TraceData> <DataItem> <TraceRecord xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/2004/10/E2ETraceEvent/TraceRecord" Severity="Error"> <TraceIdentifier>http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/library/System.ServiceModel.Diagnostics.ThrowingException.aspx</TraceIdentifier> <Description>Throwing an exception.</Description> <AppDomain>efb0d0d7-1-129315381593520544</AppDomain> <Exception> <ExceptionType>System.ServiceModel.ProtocolException, System.ServiceModel, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089</ExceptionType> <Message>There is a problem with the XML that was received from the network. Here is the class. public class MyService : IMyService { IRDCService service; public MyService() { //service = new MySite.RDCService.RDCServiceClient(); EndpointAddress address = new EndpointAddress(APISettings.Default.ServiceUrl); BasicHttpBinding binding = new BasicHttpBinding(BasicHttpSecurityMode.None); binding.TransferMode = TransferMode.Streamed; binding.MaxBufferSize = 65536; binding.MaxReceivedMessageSize = 4194304; ChannelFactory<IRDCService> factory = new ChannelFactory<IRDCService>(binding, address); service = factory.CreateChannel(); } public Response<Customer> GetCustomer(CustomerRequest request) { return service.GetCustomer(request); } public Response<Customer> GetSiteCustomers(CustomerRequest request) { return service.GetSiteCustomers(request); } } and finally, the response object. [DataContract] public class Response<T> { [DataMember] public IEnumerable<T> Results { get; set; } [DataMember] public int TotalResults { get; set; } [DataMember] public int PageIndex { get; set; } [DataMember] public int PageSize { get; set; } [DataMember] public RulesException Exception { get; set; } } So, when I build my CustomerRequest object and pass it in, for some reason it's hitting the server as an empty request. Any ideas why? I've tried upping the object graph and the message size. When I debug it stops in the wrapper class with the 400 error. I'm not sure if there is a serialization error, but considering the object contract is 4 integer properties I can't imagine it causing an issue.

  • trouble in using flalign (LaTeX)

    - by Jorge
I am trying to put 3 equations with "=" signs aligned but also left aligned. I tried the following: \documentclass{article} \usepackage{amsmath} \begin{document} \begin{flalign*} RPC &= A+B\tilde{f} +C x &\ A &= a+\eta &\ E &= cte & \end{flalign*} \end{document} With this I get the stuff in the left and the "=" signs aligned. However, I also need A (in the second equation) and E (in the third equation) to be aligned to the R (in the first one) Does anyone know how to get it? thanks

  • What's the best way to generate an API reference document using a Rails routes.rb file?

    - by RNHurt
I am trying to document the API for my Rails application and I can't help but wonder if there is a better way to generate an XML file based on my routes.rb file. I'm envisioning something similar to the output of rake routes but in a more friendly, XML type format. Corey has some interesting ideas about using reflection/introspection on the routes file here but it's not quite what I need. Please tell me this is a solved problem and I'm not the first one to think of this. :)

  • Routing error when trying to use same view for update and create flows (Rails 3)

    - by Jamis Charles
My overall use case: I have a Listing model that has many images. The Listing detail page lists all the fields that can be updated inline (through ajax). I want to be able to use the same view for both update listing and create new listing. My listing controller looks as follows: def detail @listing = Listing.find(params[:id]) @image = Image.new #should this link somewhere else? respond_to do |format| format.html # show.html.erb format.xml { render :xml => @listing } end end def create # create a new listing and save it immediately. Assign it to guest, with a status of "draft" @listing = Listing.new(:price_id => 1) # Default price id # save it to db # TODO add validation that it has to have a price ID, on record creation. So the view doesn't break. @listing.save @image = Image.new # redirect_to "/listings/detail/@listing.id" #this didn't work respond_to do |format| format.html # show.html.erb format.xml { render :xml => @listing } end end The PROBLEM I'm using a partial that shows the same form for the create view and the detail view. This works perfectly except for one thing: When I pull up http://0.0.0.0:3000/listings/detail/7, it works perfectly. When I pull up http://0.0.0.0:3000/listings/new, I get the following error: Showing /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/rails_testing/feedbackd/app/views/listings/_edit_form.html.erb where line #100 raised: No route matches {:action="show", :controller="images"} Extracted source (around line #100): 97: <!-- Form for new images --> 98: <div class="span-20 append-bottom"> 99: <!-- <%# form_for :image, @image, :url => image_path, :html => { :multipart => true } do |f| %> --> 100: <%= form_for @image, :url => image_path, :html => { :multipart => true } do |f| %> 101: <%= f.text_field :description %><br /> 102: <%= f.file_field :photo %> 103: <%= submit_tag "Upload" %> What I think the issue is: When I upload a new image (I'm using Paperclip), it requires the listing_id to create the image record. Since the listing_id isn't passed in with listings/new it can't find the listing_id. How can I pass in the id? Via a redirect? What's the best way to solve this? Thank you.

  • Serialize ASP.NET Web Service HTTP POST request results

    - by nigative
I am trying to serialize my webmethod output (rename XML element with results), So far [return: System.Xml.Serialization.SoapElementAttribute("results")] before method declaration works fine with soap requests, but I am looking for something that would work the same way with HTTP POST/GET requests as well (right now I get return class name as element name)

  • SQL Profiler and Tuning Advisor for Reporting Services - what events should be selected?

    - by chris
I've used the SQL Profiler to generate a trace file, and tuning advisor to take that trace file and provide some recommendations on db updates. However, the SQL Profiler doesn't seem to track the queries when running against a Reporting Server, the profiler doesn't seem to be capturing any of the queries. I'm logging the defaults (SQL:BatchCompleted and Starting, RPC:completed, and Sessions - Existing Connections) What events should I be capturing in SQL Profiler in order to run the tuning advisor?

  • A file's web address is different from the local file structure

    - by allanb
I'm not sure how best to describe this (as you can clearly tell from the title) so I'll give you an example: I have a multisite Drupal installation. Each of the sites' sitemap.xml files are located on the server at /sites/example.com/files though with a browser (and to search engines) it is accessible at example.com/sitemap.xml I was wondering how this was achieved? Is this called Virtual Directory? Thank you

  • Accessing Erlang business layer via REST

    - by Polyn
For a college project i'm thinking of implementing the business layer in Erlang and then accessing it via multiple front-ends using REST. I would like to avail of OTP features like distributed applications, etc. My question is how do I expose gen_server calls/casts to other applications? Obviously I could make RPC calls via language specific "bridges" like OTP.net or JInterface, but I want a consistent way to access it like REST.

  • How do I upload a file when I know the client's filepath?

    - by GJTorikian
I'm interested in the way Sonic Living detects your iTunes library XML file. It prompts the user to approve its actions, then automatically uploads the XML file based on the client OS (and assuming the default installation path of iTunes). How the heck does it do that? None of the upload libraries I've looked at have this feature. They all assume that a user will click "Select file..." then browse around for the right thing to upload.

  • File paths on Silverlight applications

    - by jose
I have two silverlight applications. One produces XML files (models) that are used for the other to read. The XML files are uploaded to a specific (abosulte for now) folder. So, I need a solution to grant access by these two applications, a Models folder. Right now I'm using absolute paths and developing in ASP.NET Dev server. What would be the best way to accomplish this, thinking on IIS approach? Regards,

  • SOAP VS REST PRAGMATIC CASE STUDIES ?

    - by asksuperuser
I'm not satisfied with the answers given by the SOAP vs REST questions notably here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/106546/performance-of-soap-vs-xml-rpc-or-rest because it's just general philosophical answers and not pragmatic answers with some study cases. Nobody can give precise cases of when soap would be more suitable than rest, especially as for performance point of view ? For example let's say I have a flash client for a financiall simulation wizard calling legacy code. Should I use SOAP or REST ? Why ?

  • How to stop attributes from being pickled in Python

    - by Ries
I am using gnosis.xml.pickle to convert an object of my own class to xml. The object is initialized so that: self.logger = MyLogger() But when I do dump the object to a string I get an exception stating that the pickler encountered an unpickleable type . Is there a way to 'tag' the logger attribute so that pickler will know not to try and pickle that attribute?

  • Task Manager with Trac support for Mac

Found Mylyn as a very good task manager that supports Trac and Gmail Task. I've seen Tasktop, but looking for something with smaller memory footprint that I could always run in background. Is there any lighter client (not on Eclipse platform) to manager at least Trac tasks (via XML-RPC) and in best case scenario with GMail Tasks support?

  • Is there a max size for POST parameter content?

    - by l3dx
I'm troubleshooting a java app where XML is sent between two systems using HTTP POST and a servlet. I suspect that the problem is that the XML is growing way to big. Is it possible that this is the problem? Is there a limit? When it doesn't work, the request.getParameter("message") on the consumer side will return null. Both apps are running on tomcat
