  • Duplication of menu items with ViewPager and Fragments

    I'm building an Android Application (minimum SDK Level 10, Gingerbread 2.3.3) with some Fragments in a ViewPager. I'm using ActionBarSherlock to create an ActionBar and android-viewpagertabs to add tabs to the ViewPager just like in the Market client. I have one global menu item that I want to be shown on every tab/fragment. On the first of the three tabs I want to have two additional menu items. But now two strange things happen: First if I start the app, everything seems to be fine, I can see all three menu items on the first page and only one item if i swipe to the second and third tab. But if I swipe back to the second tab from the third one, I can see all three items again which shouldn't happen. If I swipe back to the first and then again to the second tab, everything is fine again. The other strange thing is that every time I rotate the device, the menu items from the fragment are added again, even though they are already in the menu. Both programmes seem to work perfectly when i lauched them as two separate pgms , but on keeping them in the same project/package only the speaker programme screen is seen and the receiver pgm doesn't seem to work .     I have a database and the database populates a listview. when i long press a list item from the listview i get a context menu where i have the option to edit. When the edit option is clicked i open an activity and get all the values of the respective fields from the database. Now, here I want to get a value from the database and show it in the spinner. the spinner already has these values and is getting populated from the database...   • Display errors using VMWare Player and Remote Desktop on Windows XP

    I've come up against a weird display issue that I can't seem to find any "fix" for. When I first boot up my computer, everything behaves normally. If I start to use VMWare Player and/or Remote Desktop, my desktop starts having some odd video issues. The frames for some windows aren't drawn at all, if I move windows around rapidly, the area under where the window used to be isn't cleared (still shows artifacts of the content of the window), etc. In some cases, the minimize / restore / maximize buttons aren't drawn (but are click-able if you can guess where they are). I've tried the usual stuff - current drivers all around, using a single monitor, etc.. none of it seems to have any bearing. If I try to disable hardware acceleration, it tends to crash the computer. As I said earlier, it's running Windows XP, dual monitors, an NVidia en8400GS video card, asus p7p55d motherboard. Not sure what other pertinent details are needed. I would appreciate any help or suggestions!

    Hi. I am having a problem. I embed WMP in my page, and I need to hide buttons from player. I make it to hide them in IE and FF, but I can't make it happen in Google Chrome. The cue points are not being created dynamically, they are in the FLV video.     I just upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 from 11.10 using update manager. I use it as virtual machine on VMWare Player 4.xx. As usual I installed vmware tools to enable full screen mode and shared folder functionality. But while installing I got an error while building modules for shared folder and fast networking utilities for vmware tools.   • What music players (or related applications) are there that would allow displaying/editing embedded lyrics of music tracks?

    I use OSD Lyrics and CoverGloobus. They are good, they search and eventually download lyrics, when they can find them. The sources used by OSD Lyrics, for example, are rather limited (although I love the way it displays them. The latter accesses a reacher database, but the display is not adjustable as far as I know). Couldn't find a way to make these programs see lyrics from a file selected by me. What I want is to be able to add the lyrics myself, and even to embed them into the music file - and, of course, to display them from there. The last feature alone would be very valuable to me, as I have a large music database with lyrics already embedded, but I cannot see them with these programs: they are just looking for new lyrics on the Internet, although the lyrics are on my computer. In Windows I used Foobar2000 to find, display and embed lyrics (with the add-on lyricsgrabber) and when I needed to add the lyrics manually I used to embed them in MediaMonkey (this player allows finding them, but also editing and embedding - just by copy/paste). I am not able to run MediaMonkey in Wine. Foobar works, but with a lot of problems. And anyway, Wine is of last resort. I am looking for a Linux program that would be able to do something similar to what I have described above.

But if you query this, you are limited to do order by on the name of the group only or id. In my scenarion I need to sort them in an order (other than alphabetic) that I've stored in my database. Take for example this example: Colleagues Excluded Family Friends But the order I want them to display is: Family Colleagues Friends Excluded So how would you accomplish this task?

    Ok I know everyone is going to tell me not to use RegEx for parsing HTML, but I'm programming on Android and don't have ready access to an HTML parser (that I'm aware of). Besides, this is server generated HTML which should be more consistent than user-generated HTML. The regex looks like this: Pattern patternMP3 = Pattern.compile( "<A HREF=\"[^\"]+.+\\.mp3</A>", Pattern.CASE_INSENSITIVE | Pattern.UNICODE_CASE); Matcher matcherMP3 = patternMP3.matcher(HTML); while (matcherMP3.find()) { ... } The input HTML is all on one line, which is causing the problem. When the HTML is on separate lines this pattern works. Any suggestions?

  • Vmware Player Network adaptors have no network or internet access in windows 7 enterprise

My VMWare player installation has setup the two network adaptor VMnet1 and VMnet8 and they are picked up as unidentified networks with no network access (i need this to activate my windows server installation on it). The option to change the network location is not available (this might be because of network policy on the domain despite having set this as configurable in the local security policy section). Is there anyway i can change how these networks are detected or alter the configuration of vmware to get around this?

    I'm using Slackware 13. When a flash app pops up the allow/deny dialog, I'm stuck because the buttons are unclickable. My adobe flash player version is 10,0,42,34. How can I fix this problem? Edit: I'm using fluxbox. I'm using an acer notebook with a synaptics touchpad... both the touchpad and the mouse can't interact with the dialog.

  • ScrollView alawys scrolling to the bottom

    I defined a scrollview with a texteedit in my layout: <ScrollView android:fillViewport="true" android:layout_marginBottom="50dip" android:id="@+id/start_scroller" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:fadingEdge="none"> <TextView android:id="@+id/text" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" > </TextView> </ScrollView> I add text to this ScrollView with the following method: public void writeToLogView(String textMsg) { if (text.getText().equals("")) { text.append(textMsg); } else { text.append("\n" + textMsg); scroller.scrollBy(0, 1000000); } } As you can see i append the text and try to scroll to the bottom of the ScrollView. Unfortunately this doesn't worked correctly. It scrolls down, but not always, and not always to the bottom. Any hints?

  • How to handle application upgrades from free to paid version while preserving any data

    Here is the context. I want to have a free version and a premium version of the same application. When people buy the application, I want them to be able to "upgrade" without losing their data, i.e. the premium version should install over the free version. I want to use the same code base and just switch a setting to build the premium version. Andoid Market does not let me convert a free app to a paid app, so the trivial option is not available. I am curious if someone has tried this successfully. How does Android Market identify an application - will it think that the premium version is a different app and just install it in parallel?
