I currently use Perforce for source control, but want to start working on the code from 2 different PCs at the same time (desktop and laptop). The laptop would not be able to access the perforce server very often, which makes Perforce a poor choice in this setup.
Distributed source control tools like Mercurial seem better suited to the task, but I am still not clear if this would work or not. Does anyone have any experience of using Mercurial to work on 2 machines at once (eg desktop in the week, laptop in evening and weekends). Does it help, or is it still a pain the butt keeping everything in sync and knowing what is going on.
I am working with the Parallel libraries in .net 4 and I am creating a Partitioner and the example shown in the MSDN only has a chunk size of 1 (every time a new result is retrieved it hits the data source instead of the local cache. The version I am writing will pull 10000 SQL rows at a time then feed the rows from the cache until it is empty then pull another batch.
Each partition in the Partitioner has its own chunk. I know every time I call to the IEnumerator in from the SQL data-source that needs to be thread safe but for use in a Parallel.ForEach do I need to make every call to the cache for the chunking thread safe?
Is it possible to take a screenshot of a web page with ASP.net with C# Code and then submit that back to the server?
In this code access only local host only, but same source code not access to the IIS, CopyFromScreen error ware occurred. What is the reason is it possible?
Sample Source Code:
Bitmap Bitmap;
Graphics Graps;
Bitmap = new Bitmap(Screen.PrimaryScreen.Bounds.Width, Screen.PrimaryScreen.Bounds.Height - 110, PixelFormat.Format32bppArgb);
Graps = Graphics.FromImage(Bitmap);
Graps.CopyFromScreen(Screen.PrimaryScreen.Bounds.X, 110, 0, 0, Screen.PrimaryScreen.Bounds.Size, CopyPixelOperation.SourceCopy);
Bitmap.Save(Server.MapPath("~") + "/YourShot.gif");
Hello guys, there are three (open) questions about the internationalization of GWT, I have:
1) Is it a (huge) performance issue, to use only "Messages" for constant and parameterized text (that's possible), where you would use both "Messages" and "Constants" usually?
2) Is there a way to specify the original text in the source code, whose translations can then be specified somewhere? (e.g. Translate("Hello") in the source code and than in a properties file for e.g. spanish: Hello = ¡Hola!)
3) Do you know any translation-tools, which generate the properties and interfaces for you?
Thanks in Advance!
I have a method which compares two objects and returns a list of all the property names which are different.
public static IList<string> GetDifferingProperties(object source, object)
{
var sourceType = source.GetType();
var sourceProperties = sourceType.GetProperties();
var targetType = target.GetType();
var targetProperties = targetType.GetProperties();
var properties = (from s in sourceProperties
from t in targetProperties
where s.Name == t.Name &&
s.PropertyType == t.PropertyType &&
s.GetValue(source,null) != t.GetValue(target,null)
select s.Name).ToList();
return properties;
}
For example if I have two classes as follows:
public class Address
{
public string AddressLine1 { get; set; }
public string AddressLine2 { get; set; }
public string City { get; set; }
public string State { get; set; }
public string Zip { get; set; }
}
public class Employee
{
public string FirstName { get; set; }
public string MiddleName { get; set; }
public string LastName { get; set; }
public Address EmployeeAddress { get; set; }
}
I am trying to compare the following two employee instances:
var emp1Address = new Address();
emp1Address.AddressLine1 = "Microsoft Corporation";
emp1Address.AddressLine2 = "One Microsoft Way";
emp1Address.City = "Redmond";
emp1Address.State = "WA";
emp1Address.Zip = "98052-6399";
var emp1 = new Employee();
emp1.FirstName = "Bill";
emp1.LastName = "Gates";
emp1.EmployeeAddress = emp1Address;
var emp2Address = new Address();
emp2Address.AddressLine1 = "Gates Foundation";
emp2Address.AddressLine2 = "One Microsoft Way";
emp2Address.City = "Redmond";
emp2Address.State = "WA";
emp2Address.Zip = "98052-6399";
var emp2 = new Employee();
emp2.FirstName = "Melinda";
emp2.LastName = "Gates";
emp2.EmployeeAddress = emp2Address;
So when I pass these two employee objects to my GetDifferingProperties method currently it returns FirstName and EmployeeAddress, but it does not tell me which exact property (which in this case is Address1) in the EmployeeAddress has changed. How can I tweak this method to get something like EmployeeAddress.Address1?
I am using jQuery to detect drop on target, the target in question is a image. If i drag one image upon another, and then drop it, it shall replace the target source with the dropped source. This works fine until two images lies upon each other.
Some of the images lies next to each other and some times the target images overlap. if i drop, both the visible image and the image beneath is replaced with the dragged image.
I hope the problem is clear and their is any good solution
Hi,
I need to extend the behavior of an instance, but I don't have access to the original source code of that instance. For example:
/* I don't have the source code for this class, only the runtime instance */
Class AB
{
public void execute();
}
in my code I would to intercept every call to execute, compute some sutff and then call the original execute, something like
/* This is how I would like to modify the method invokation */
SomeType m_OrgExecute;
{
AB a = new AB();
m_OrgExecute = GetByReflection( a.execute );
a.execute = MyExecute;
}
void MyExecute()
{
System.Console.Writeln( "In MyExecute" );
m_OrgExecute();
}
Is that possible?
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?
When the CacheRolesInCookie property is set to true in the Web.config file, role information for each user is stored in a cookie. When role management checks to see whether a user is in a particular role, the roles cookie is checked before the role provider is called to check the list of roles at the data source. The cookie is dynamically updated to cache the most recently validated role names.
a) As far as I understand the above text, even though role management checks the roles cookie, role provider still checks the list of roles at the data source?
b) Above text talks about role management, which is invoked before role provider is called. What class acts as a role management?
thanx
A few of the classes on a VS 2010 class diagram are displayed with a red title. The Class Details window shows all of the methods, properties, fields and correctly shows no events. However, there's an entry under each of methods, properties, fields and events that states where the name should be:
"The type cannot be edited because the
source code file contains an error."
However, the source file builds with no errors or warnings.
Anyone seen this? Any idea how to fix it?
Hi,
I don't know what I did but somehow the IDE has started displaying a green dot whenever I press spacebar and a green arrowhead whenever I press TAB. The source has become littered with these characters all over and I am finding it very difficult to code in the presence of so many formatting marks. I have tried to search a solution on Google but couldn't perhaps enter the right keywords so haven't been able to fix the behavior.
Is there any way I can stop VS2008 IDE from littering my source code with these green dots and arrowheads whenever I press spacebar/tab?
I would be really thankful for this help.
Thanks,
-AL
PS: Re-posting the question as I am new to this forum and probably couldn't see the email notification option earlier. My apologies for this inconvenience.
What are the advantages/disadvantages of keeping SQL in your C# source code or in Stored Procs? I've been discussing this with a friend on an open source project that we're working on (C# ASP.NET Forum). At the moment, most of the database access is done by building the SQL inline in C# and calling to the SQL Server DB. So I'm trying to establish which, for this particular project, would be best.
So far I have:
Advantages for in Code:
Easier to maintain - don't need to run a SQL script to update queries
Easier to port to another DB - no procs to port
Advantages for Stored Procs:
Performance
Security
Hi guys, i'm working with Flash Live Encoder.
It's using camera for streaming video.
Support forum say's that i can create custom direct show filter and stream data that i need.
I cann't understand how direct show filter will display in the source list of the live encoder.
I've tryed to use some commercial virtual camera and it work's fine, but it cann't use source from network stream.
Summary. I have a several network streams. I think that i must to create virtual camera for each one. But if i find examples with direct show filter on C#, i cann't find for virtual camera.
My team is using the Mere Mortals .NET framework from Oak Leaf. Being used to working with primarily open source software, I found it excruciatingly painful to find ANY community support for MM.NET. When I asked if there was any, the only place I was given to look for support was Universal Thread, which is a site which requires a membership for search and archived questions. It seems like a third party, pay-for site should not be the primary source of support for anything like this, especially MM.NET which costs $700 per developer. It doesn' to me like an entire community around MM.NET would choose to all pay on top of the license just to use a forum. If not Universal Thread, then what is the "official" place to find support for the Mere Mortals .NET framework?
Hi,
This is my script for the draggable and droppable
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function() {
$(".Source li").draggable({
appendTo: "body",
helper: "clone",
revert: "invalid"
});
$(".Destination ").droppable({
activeClass: "ui-state-default",
hoverClass: "ui-state-hover",
accept: ".Source li",
drop: function(event, ui) {
$(this).find(".placeholder").remove();
$("#Hf1").val(ui.draggable.text());
$("#TxtItemId").val($("#Hf1").val());
}
});
});
</script>
Now I want to access the value of the "TxtItemId" control in the code-behind through a postback. How do I go about doing this ?
BTW, this is for a scenario where a person will drag an item from a panel into a shopping cart and I need to capture the Id of the dropped item and trigger a postback after the drop to update the quantity of that item in the cart.
Hi,
I keep getting an NHibernate.PersistentObjectException when calling session.Save() which is due to an uninitialized proxy passed to save(). If I fiddle with my cascade settings I can make it go away, but then child objects aren't being saved.
The only other fix I have found is by adding the following to my DefaultSaveEventListener.
protected override bool ReassociateIfUninitializedProxy(object obj, global::NHibernate.Engine.ISessionImplementor source)
{
if (!NHibernateUtil.IsInitialized(obj))
NHibernateUtil.Initialize(obj);
return base.ReassociateIfUninitializedProxy(obj, source);
}
This is obviously not an ideal solution.
Any ideas?
I've never written drivers before but I'm starting an open-source project that involves creating virtual MIDI ports that will send the MIDI data over a network.
For this, I presume I would be creating some sort of virtual driver using WDM (unless it's possible with kernel hooks?) - but being a beginner to driver development I don't know where to begin.
Does anyone know any useful resources that would help me with this project? Or some open-source code from a similar project that I could fork as a starting point?
What is normally to be done to run a WinForms application on a Mac or Linux machine?
a. Just copy and run (assuming they have a Framework installed).
b. Rebuild.
c. Cosmetic source code modifications.
d. Heavy source code modifications and forms redesign.
Assuming that the application is developed as 100% managed C# 3 code by means Visual C# Express or Visual Studio 2008 targeting .Net Framework 3.5, developed without using any 3-rd party components/libraries, without encapsulating nonmanaged code or any low-level hacks - only standard Microsoft-documented .Net Framework C# API used). Or the same conditions but C# 4 language, .Net Framework 4 and Visual Studio 2010.
I have used this code for extracting urls from web page.But in the line of 'foreach' it is showing
Object reference not set to an instance of an object
exception. What is the problem? how can i correct that?
WebClient client = new WebClient();
string url = "http://www.google.co.in/search?hl=en&q=java&start=10&sa=N";
string source = client.DownloadString(url);
HtmlDocument doc = new HtmlDocument();
doc.LoadHtml(source);
foreach (HtmlNode link in doc.DocumentNode.SelectNodes("//a[@href and @rel='nofollow']"))
{
Console.WriteLine(link.Attributes["href"].Value);
}
I am getting some "ref" vs "out" keyword errors using the sql-net and C# Sqlite combination for windows phone 7.1. Is this due to a wrong combination of libraries that I am using?
App Type: Windows Phone 7.1
Using:
1) sql-net Version 1.0.5, Source Nuget thru Visual Studio
2) C# Sqlite for WP7 (wp7sqlite) ( Community.CSharpSqlite.WP7) Version 0.1.1, Source Nuget thru Visual Studio.
The exact error I receive is below
**Error 5 The best overloaded method match for Community.CsharpSqlite.Sqlite3.sqlite3_open(string, ref Community.CsharpSqlite.Sqlite3.sqlite3)' has some invalid arguments
C:\Dev\Learning\SQLite.cs Line:2492 Column: 29 **
The next error then hints that it is related to the parameter being passed as "out" type instead of "ref" type.
Error 6 Argument 2 must be passed with the 'ref' keyword C:\Dev\Learning\SQLite.cs Line: 2492 Column: 64
I can make the compile errors go away by replacing the "out" keyword with the "ref" keyword, but that is likely to lead to other issues. Given that I do not see much complain about this issue - I may be doing something wrong but not able to detect easily.
Thanks,
Parmeshwar
Is there a simpler way of reordering methods within a class source file in IntelliJ than cutting and pasting the code manually? Nowadays I often need this while refactoring legacy code, e.g. to move related methods close to each other in the source code.
In Eclipse AFAIK there is a view similar to the Structure view of IntelliJ, where I can drag and drop methods around. However, this does not work in IntelliJ and I couldn't find any hints from its help either.
I am using IntelliJ 9.0.2 to be specific.
Hello,
I wanted to download the "UML plugin" to NetBeans through the "Tools/Plugins" but I didn't find the plugin there. Then I read in many articles that the "NetBeans UML plugin is not supported anymore" :-( .
Then I discovered that there exists some "NetBeans SDE" tool that supports the UML in NetBeans and there exists the "Comunity Edition" of that tool which is free, but only for "non-commercial" uses - so it's not open-source - and so I don't want to use it.
So I would like to ask, if Sun (or whoever else who officially maintains (or maintained in the past) the NetBeans UML plugin) is not going to support the UML plugin to NetBeans anymore and if so, is there any "open-source" UML plugin which is supported in version "6.8" and "later" and if so - which?
Thank you.
I'd like to embed a few Google Calendars for my client's web site. The "Google Embeddable Calendar Helper" provides very few customization options. Updating the hex code for the background color in the generated source only works if you pick one of the ~70 standard Google Calendar bg colors. (I can tweak the "border" selector because at least it's in an actual statement.)
A "view-source" on the rendered page shows a CSS file loaded from the iframe, but I obviously can't change anything in there. And I assume I can't force an override of selectors with my own CSS file because I have no way of "injecting" it into the iframe.
Does anyone know of a (non-API) way of tweaking the colors, fonts, and other CSS thingies in an embedded Google Calendar?
Thanks in advance...
