  • Centering images php

    - by peak
I'm trying to center an image in php. I'm currently using this line of code echo '<img src="newimage.jpg" width="110" height="120" class="centre">'; However, this seems to have no effect. I've also tried using something like this, img.center { display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; } <img src="newimage.jpg" alt="Suni" class="center" /> but this merely gives me a syntax error, how do I go about fixing this? Thanks

  • Div horizontal aligning, one fixed, one adaptive

    - by Dorian McHensie
Hello everyone. I would like to create a vertical splitted site structure using two divs: My intention is to have d2 next to d1 in a horizontal align structure (same line). What i get is not this. In fact using that code, d2 does not take the remaining space, but collapses to the min width. if I use WRONG because d2 goes down and takes all the space (but both divs are in different lines). HOW TO REACH MY OBJECTIVE? Is there a design pattern for this problem???? Thanks.

  • JQueryMobile 1.1.1 List items not anchoring to the left

    - by user1664935
    I'm trying to create a simple thumbnail list, the code is pretty much copied off jqm docs pages. However, when I use the code below the button element of the list isn't anchored to the left of the list item and instead appears centered...Can anyone help me? It's driving me crazy! I haven't got any styles in other than what is in the jquerymobile default page template <div id="listDiv" class="ui-content" data-role="main"> <div id="listInformation" data-role="content-primary"> <ul id="swipeMeChildrenList" data-role="listview" class="ui-listview"> <li data-corners="false" data-shadow="false" data-iconshadow="true" data-wrapperels="div" data-icon="arrow-r" data-iconpos="right" data-theme="c" class="ui-btn ui-btn-icon-right ui-li-has-arrow ui-li ui-btn-up-c"> <div class="ui-btn-inner ui-li"> <div class="ui-btn-text"> <a href="index.html" class="ui-link-inherit"> <img src="images/album-p.jpg" class="ui-li-thumb"> <p>Ha</p> </a> </div> <span class="ui-icon ui-icon-arrow-r ui-icon-shadow">&nbsp;</span> </div> </li> </ul> </div> </div>

  • style sheet issue

    - by dotnetrocks
When I add text to my web page using my text editor it display styles correctly inside the text editor which basically is a iframe. After this data is saved it's displayed on another page where the issue occurs. I wanted the description section on my web page to use its own style without getting overwritten by the page styles. Do i need to use a iframe to display this data? Is there a way I can prevent a block from using the page style. Please advise. Appreciate all your help.

  • How can I have centered text and right-aligned image in the same element?

    - by Ethan
I have some th elements with text in them that should be centered and they also contain images: The up/down arrow graphic is a separate image. My question is, what is the simplest reliable way to position that image over to the right side of the th element while keeping the text centered? I'm open to using jQuery/JavaScript if there's a reasonably simple way to do it. One caveat: I need the up/down graphic to be a separate image, not part of the header background. <th> Title <img src='/images/sort_unsorted.jpg' /> </th>

  • Highlight anchor element

    - by dotNetNewbie
I have the following three items displayed side by side: <div class="page-header"> <h1 style="line-height:0">Title</h1> <ul style="float: right; list-style-type: none;"> <li><a href="http://test1.com">T1</a></li> <li><a href="http://test2.com">T2</a></li> <li><a href="#">T3</a></li> </ul> </div> I want to highlight the item once the user clicked on it (eg. T1). Something similar to how stackoverflow has the blocks like Questions, Tags, Users etc.

  • jQuery toggle pushing other elements around... bullies!!

    - by tony noriega
    Ok, so in the left_col of my page, i have a list UL LI that incorporates a jQuery toggle to open a small box, which is "LoginBox". <ul> <li class="members"><a href="/members/signon.asp?userType=member">Members</a></li> <li class="employers"><a href="/employers/signon.asp?userType=employer">Employers</a></li> <li class="providers"><a href="#LoginBox" class="clicker">Providers</a></li> <div class="loginbox" id="LoginBox"> <p>Medical</p> <p>Dental</p> </div> <li class="brokers"><a href="/brokers/signon.asp?userType=broker">Brokers</a></li> </ul> when the jQuery is invoked, it pushes the elements below it down. As expected. What i dont get is that i have an H3 tag below this UL LI which has a background image. The text portion of the H3 gets pushed down, but the background image seems to stay put, and the UL LI that gets pushed down just covers up the background image of the H3. why would the text move, but not the background image itself? here is the H3 style: .sectionmenu h3{ background: url(/_images/h3-triangle.gif) left center no-repeat; color: #000; font-size: 12px; font-weight: bold; padding: 4px 0px 4px 10px; margin: 0; border-bottom:1px dotted #aeaeae;; } and the login box style: .loginbox{ display:none; width:100px; height:50px; margin:0 0 0 77px; }

  • Polygonal Divs -- Making content overflow in a specific shape?

    - by Will
Here is the site I'm currently working on: http://willcrichton.net/ If you click on the arrows on each side of the hexagon in the middle, you can see that it transitions left and right using jQuery + jQuery Cycle + jQuery Easing. However, you can also see that it is rather ugly -- because I'm using hexagons and not squares and because divs are square shaped, the content hexagon overlaps with with the background in an unpleasant way. So, my question is: how would I essentially hack a div into a hexagon? That hexagon should be the same size/shape of the content div, and when content is outside the area of the hexagon it should be invisible.

  • HTML Line Spacing & Compact Code

    - by William Hand
I was just wondering if there was a professional opinion on the matter of compact code. Does it really speed up page loading. Example: <body> <div id="a"></div> <div id="b"></div> </body> VS <body> <div id="a"></div> <div id="b"></div> </body> any ideas?

  • Auto height and the float issue.

    - by William Hand
I have had this issue before and can't remember if and how I fixed it. I have to create a scenario where I have 2 DIV's floated left and right inside a parent DIV. The 2 floating DIV's have height:auto, but the parent ignores them (perfectly logical) and the background of the parent DIV can't be seen. I know what the issue is, but are there any suggestions of how to solve it? Or any alternatives, I am willing to try a new approach. Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Download button that send application to blackberry and asks everyone else to register???

    - by Stefan
Hello all I would like to know your opinions on how to handle this. I need to create a link or advertisement that offers a phone app to be downloaded. I need that users who are viewing the page with their blackberry receive the download when they click the button but everyone else who would be viewing the page would get a form which asks that they insert a phone number to send the application to. Has anyone else already tackled this or something similar?

  • Can i make this div fill out the remaining space depending on the the sidebars widths?

    - by Marcus
i have 4 divs inside of a div like this: <div id="Wrapper"> <div id="CoreSideBar"><!-- a sidebar to the right --> </div> <div id="SystemContent"> <div id="SystemNavigation"><!-- will be some kind of "tabnavigation" in the top of this div --> </div> <div id="PageContent"> </div> <div id="SystemSideBar"> <!-- a sidebar to the left --> </div> </div> </div> I would like the sidebars to have 200px width each and im also going to make it possible to "collapse" the sidebars so you can have more space for the PageContent div if you need it. What do i need to do to make the PageContent div fill out the remaining whitespace between the CoreSideBar and the SystemSidebar? Is this even possible in all browsers?

  • How do I set font size to 0px in IE6?

    - by Justin808
I have an unordered list, I'm trying to hide the text in the list. I can do this 2 ways that i know of: font-color: transparent; font-size: 0px; I prefer the 0px method as its not selectable. This issue is neither way works in IE6. The first way just doesn't work in IE6 at all, the 2nd leave a 1PX high font. Is there a way to hide the text in IE6? This is a visual thing, I know you can read the text by reading the source and that is OK, I just need it to visually not be there.

  • Bootstrap inline button dropdown within <p> jumbotron

    - by C.B.
Currently I have a jumbotron setup with some paragraph text, and I would like to stick a button dropdown inline with the text. Dropdown button <span class="btn-group"> <button type="button" class="btn btn-default dropdown-toggle" data-toggle="dropdown"> Button... <span class="caret"></span> </button> <ul class="dropdown-menu" role="menu"> <li><a href="#">Opt 1</a></li> <li><a href="#">Opt 2</a></li> </ul> </span> Jumbotron <div class="jumbotron"> <h1>Hello!</h1> <p>Welcome</p> <p>Another paragraph <!-- dropdown is here --> </p> </div> <!-- jumbotron --> If the dropdown is within the <p> tag, it does not "dropdown" (but renders). If it is outside of the <p> tag it functions fine, but I would like it to be inline with the text and need the text to be in the <p> tag to get the style. Any ideas? Things to note -- If I replace the <span> tags with <div> tags, it will work fine within the <p> tags, but won't be inline.

  • How to float span properly

    - by brianr1
I am developing this site http://indigonightlife.com/ The second section down is This Weeks Events. To the right of that heading is an image of the 5 little blue lines. The problem Im having is I cant get it to float to the right side of the container. As it is now, its in the middle of the container. Ive tried all kinds of combos of floats, clearfixes, and such but I cant get it to stay to the right. The section below titled Resident and Guest DJs has the same image but its floated fine. Not sure what the difference is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
