  • How can the AssemblyName class be used for existing Assembly's?

    - by IbrarMumtaz
This is another exam related question. I want to know how can I use the AssemblyName class to represent an existing assembly that already exists on disk??? I am talking about from the perspective of using the AppDomain's instance method .Load(), that takes an AssemblyName object as a parameter. I know what MSDN has to say about what the .Load() method was designed for but that aside, I still want to know how to use it !!!

  • GUI and Threading

    - by cam
    Isn't there a better way to handle GUI (WinForms) from another thread than creating a delegate for every single method I need to use? It seems like there would be a better way. Here's the current code I use for every single GUI method: private delegate void SetStatusTextDelegate(string set_text); public void SetStatusText(string set_text) { if (status_prog.InvokeRequired) { status_prog.Invoke(new SetStatusTextDelegate(SetStatusText), set_text); } else { status_prog.Text = set_text; } }

  • Modify values on-the-fly during SqlAdapter.Fill( )

    - by Timothy
What would the proper way be to modify values on the fly as they are loaded into a DataTable by SqlAdapter.Fill()? I have globalized my application's log messages. An integer indicating the event type and serialized data relevant to the event is stored in the database as show below. When I display the logged events through a DataGridView control to the user, I interpolate the data to a formatting string. event_type event_timestamp event_details ============================================ 3 2010-05-04 20:49:58 jsmith 1 2010-05-04 20:50:42 jsmith ... I am currently iterating through the DataTable's rows to format the messages. public class LogDataTable : DataTable { public LogDataTable() { Locale = CultureInfo.CurrentCulture; Columns.AddRange(new DataColumn[] { new DataColumn("event_type", typeof(Int32)), new DataColumn("event_timestamp", typeof(DateTime)), new DataColumn("event_details", typeof(String))}); } } ... using (SqlDataAdapter adapter = new SqlDataAdapter(...)) { adapter.SelectCommand.Parameters.AddRange(new Object[] { ... }); adapter.Fill(table); } foreach (DataRow row in table.Rows) { switch ((LogEventType)row["event_type"]) { case LogEventType.Create: row["event_details"] = String.Format(Resources.Strings.LogEventCreateMsg, row["event_details"]; break; case LogEventType.Create: row["event_details"] = String.Format(Resources.Strings.LogEventCreateMsg, row["event_details"]; break; ... The end result as displayed would resemble: Type Date and Time Details ==================================================================== [icon] 2010-05-04 20:49:58 Failed login attempt with username jsmith [icon] 2010-05-04 20:50:42 Successful login with username jsmith ... It seems wasteful to iterate the result set twice-- once as the table is filled by the adapter, and again to perform the replacements. I would really like to do the replacement on-the-fly in my LogDataTable class as it is being populated. I have tried overriding an OnRowChanging method in LogDataTable, which throws an InRowChangingEventException. protected override void OnRowChanging(DataRowChangeEventArgs e) { base.OnRowChanging(e); switch ((LogEventType)row["event_type"]) ... I have tried overriding an OnRowChanged method, which throws a StackOverflowException (I assume changing it re-triggers the method ad infinitum?). I have tried overriding an OnTableNewRow method, which does not throw an exception but appears not to be invoked (I assume only when a user adds a row in the view, which I've prevented). I'd greatly appreciate any assistance anyone can give me.

  • Is it ok to perform DB operation on UI thread?

    - by user648462
I am using a database to persist the state of a search form. I am using the onPause method to persist the data and the onResume method to restore it. My opinion is that restoring and persisting state should be a blocking operation so I plan to perform the database operations on the UI thread. I know this is generally discouraged but the operations should be quick and I think if they were done asynchronously they could lead to inconsistent UI behaviour. Any advice

  • Java: Is there a way to obtain the bytecode for a class at runtime?

    - by Adam Paynter
In Java, is there a way (at runtime) to obtain the bytecode which defined a particular class? Put another way, is there a way to obtain the byte[] array passed to ClassLoader.defineClass(String name, byte[] b, int off, int len) when a particular class was loaded? I see that this method is declared final, so creating a custom ClassLoader to intercept class definitions seems out of the question. In the past, I have used the class's ClassLoader to obtain the bytecode via the getResourceAsStream(String) method, but I would prefer a more canonical solution.

  • how to define a structural type that refers to itself?

    - by IttayD
I want to create a method sum that I can call on different types, specifically sum(1,2). def sum[A](a1: A, a2: A) = a1 + a2 This fails because the compiler can't tell if A has a method '+' I tried to define a structural type: type Addable = {def +(a: Addable)} This fails because of an illegal cyclic reference How can I achieve this in a type safe way without requiring A to extend a specific trait?

  • How to check whether the tab is active or not in JTabbedPane?

    - by Supereme
Hi, How to check whether a tab in JTabbedPane instance is active or not, in the class of the tab(nested class) itself and not in the enclosing class? I know that there is a method 'booloean isEnabledAt(int index)'; but this method can only be called in the enclosing class whereas I want to check whether the tab is currently selected or not in the tab class (nested class) itself. Can anybody please suggest me something? Thank you!

  • how to set setEnabled: for NSButton in an NSTableView

    - by user460366
Hi All I have an NSTableView which has three columns. The first one is a checkbox and the third one is a button. The button 'is enabled' state depends on whether or not the checkbox is checked. I am setting the table content in the awakeFromNib method and I am implementing the checkbox state in the - (id)tableView:(NSTableView *)tableView objectValueForTableColumn:(NSTableColumn *)tableColumn row:(int)row method. I need to find a way setEnabled: for the NSButton Thanks

  • What is the best way to declare sorted association in grails domain classes ?

    - by fabien7474
It seems that there are two different ways of declaring sorted associations in Grails : Method 1 (see here) using default sort order class Book { String title } class Author { static hasMany = [books : Book] static mapping = { books sort: "title"} } Method 2 (see here) using SortedSet class Book implements Comparable { String title int compareTo(obj) { title <=> obj.title } } class Author { SortedSet books static hasMany = [books : Book] } I am not sure which one to use and what is the difference (if any), pros and cons between using one against the other. I would appreciate any clarification. Thank you

  • Spring transaction management breaks hibernate cascade

    - by TimmyJ
    I'm having a problem where the addition of spring's transaction management to an application causes Hibernate to throw the following error: org.hibernate.HibernateException: A collection with cascade="all-delete-orphan" was no longer referenced by the owning entity instance: org.fstrf.masterpk.domain.ReportCriteriaBean.treatmentArms org.hibernate.engine.Collections.processDereferencedCollection(Collections.java:96) org.hibernate.engine.Collections.processUnreachableCollection(Collections.java:39) org.hibernate.event.def.AbstractFlushingEventListener.flushCollections(AbstractFlushingEventListener.java:218) org.hibernate.event.def.AbstractFlushingEventListener.flushEverythingToExecutions(AbstractFlushingEventListener.java:77) org.hibernate.event.def.DefaultFlushEventListener.onFlush(DefaultFlushEventListener.java:26) org.hibernate.impl.SessionImpl.flush(SessionImpl.java:1000) org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.SpringSessionSynchronization.beforeCommit(SpringSessionSynchronization.java:135) org.springframework.transaction.support.TransactionSynchronizationUtils.triggerBeforeCommit(TransactionSynchronizationUtils.java:72) org.springframework.transaction.support.AbstractPlatformTransactionManager.triggerBeforeCommit(AbstractPlatformTransactionManager.java:905) org.springframework.transaction.support.AbstractPlatformTransactionManager.processCommit(AbstractPlatformTransactionManager.java:715) org.springframework.transaction.support.AbstractPlatformTransactionManager.commit(AbstractPlatformTransactionManager.java:701) org.springframework.transaction.interceptor.TransactionAspectSupport.commitTransactionAfterReturning(TransactionAspectSupport.java:321) org.springframework.transaction.interceptor.TransactionInterceptor.invoke(TransactionInterceptor.java:116) org.springframework.aop.framework.ReflectiveMethodInvocation.proceed(ReflectiveMethodInvocation.java:171) org.springframework.aop.framework.JdkDynamicAopProxy.invoke(JdkDynamicAopProxy.java:204) $Proxy92.saveNewReportCriteria(Unknown Source) org.fstrf.masterpk.domain.logic.MasterPkFacade.saveNewReportCriteria(MasterPkFacade.java:134) org.fstrf.masterpk.controllers.ReportCriteriaController.setupReportType(ReportCriteriaController.java:302) sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:585) org.springframework.web.bind.annotation.support.HandlerMethodInvoker.doInvokeMethod(HandlerMethodInvoker.java:413) org.springframework.web.bind.annotation.support.HandlerMethodInvoker.invokeHandlerMethod(HandlerMethodInvoker.java:134) org.springframework.web.servlet.mvc.annotation.AnnotationMethodHandlerAdapter.invokeHandlerMethod(AnnotationMethodHandlerAdapter.java:310) org.springframework.web.servlet.mvc.annotation.AnnotationMethodHandlerAdapter.handle(AnnotationMethodHandlerAdapter.java:297) org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet.doDispatch(DispatcherServlet.java:875) org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet.doService(DispatcherServlet.java:809) org.springframework.web.servlet.FrameworkServlet.processRequest(FrameworkServlet.java:571) org.springframework.web.servlet.FrameworkServlet.doPost(FrameworkServlet.java:511) javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:710) javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:803) org.jboss.web.tomcat.filters.ReplyHeaderFilter.doFilter(ReplyHeaderFilter.java:96) I'm using Spring 2.5 and annotations to implement this management. Here is the class containing the saveNewReportCriteria method (which, as can be seen by the stack trace, is causing the error) @Transactional( propagation = Propagation.REQUIRED, isolation = Isolation.DEFAULT, readOnly = false) public class HibernateReportCriteriaDao implements ReportCriteriaDao{ private HibernateTemplate hibernateTemplate; public Integer saveNewReportCriteria(ReportCriteriaBean reportCriteria) { hibernateTemplate.save(reportCriteria); List<Integer> maxIdList = hibernateTemplate.find("SELECT max(id) from ReportCriteriaBean"); logger.info("ID of newly saved list is: " + maxIdList.get(0)); return maxIdList.get(0); } public void setHibernateTemplate(HibernateTemplate hibernateTemplate) { this.hibernateTemplate = hibernateTemplate; } } Then I added the following sections to my configuration files to tell spring that I am using annotation driven transaction management: <bean id="actgDataSource" class="org.springframework.jndi.JndiObjectFactoryBean"> <property name="jndiName" value="jdbc/actg" /> <property name="resourceRef" value="true" /> </bean> <bean id="transactionManager" class="org.springframework.jdbc.datasource.DataSourceTransactionManager"> <property name="dataSource" ref="actgDataSource" /> </bean> <tx:annotation-driven/> I'm pretty sure that the de-referencing error is being caused due to the proxy class that Spring AOP creates and uses in order to handle transaction management, but I have no idea how I'd go about fixing it.

  • How to give focus to default program of shell-opened file, from Java ?

    - by Rabarberski
From within Java, I am opening an Excel file with the default file handler (MS Excel, in this case :-) ) using the method described in this stackoverflow question: Desktop dt = Desktop.getDesktop(); dt.open(new File(filename)); However, the Excel program doesn't get the focus. Is there any easy way to do so? Edit: There is a related stackoverflow question for C#, but I didn't find any similar Java method.

  • What is the most effective way to create BigInteger instance from int value?

    - by Roman
I have a method (in 3rd-party library) with BigInteger parameter: public void setValue (BigInteger value) { ... } I don't need 'all its power', I only need to work with integers. So, how can I pass integers to this method? My solution is to get string value from int value and then create BigInteger from string: int i = 123; setValue (new BigInteger ("" + i)); Are there any other (recommended) ways to do that?

  • Java accessing variables using extends

    - by delo
    So here I have two classes: Customer Order Class and Confirmation Class. I want to access the data stored in LastNameTextField (Customer Order Class) and set it as the text for UserLastNameLabel (Confirmation Class) after clicking a "Submit" button. For some reason however, the output displays nothing. Snippet of my code: package customer_order; public class customer_order extends Frame{ private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; private JPanel jPanel = null; private JLabel LastNameLabel = null; protected JTextField LastNameTextField = null; private JButton SubmitButton = null; public String s; public customer_order() { super(); initialize(); } private void initialize() { this.setSize(729, 400); this.setTitle("Customer Order"); this.add(getJPanel(), BorderLayout.CENTER); } /** * This method initializes LastNameTextField * * @return javax.swing.JTextField */ public JTextField getLastNameTextField() { if (LastNameTextField == null) { LastNameTextField = new JTextField(); LastNameTextField.setBounds(new Rectangle(120, 100, 164, 28)); LastNameTextField.setName("LastNameTextField"); } return LastNameTextField; } /** * This method initializes SubmitButton * * @return javax.swing.JButton */ private JButton getSubmitButton() { if (SubmitButton == null) { SubmitButton = new JButton(); SubmitButton.setBounds(new Rectangle(501, 225, 96, 29)); SubmitButton.setName("SubmitButton"); SubmitButton.setText("Submit"); SubmitButton.addActionListener(new java.awt.event.ActionListener() { public void actionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent e) { System.out.println("actionPerformed()"); // TODO Auto-generated Event stub actionPerformed() //THE STRING I WANT s = LastNameTextField.getText(); java.awt.EventQueue.invokeLater(new Runnable() { public void run() { new confirmation().setVisible(true); } }); } }); } return SubmitButton; } package customer_order; public class confirmation extends customer_order{ private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; private JPanel jPanel = null; // @jve:decl-index=0:visual-constraint="58,9" private JLabel LastNameLabel = null; private JLabel UserLastNameLabel = null; // @jve:decl-index=0: /** * This method initializes frame * * @return java.awt.Frame */ public confirmation() { super(); initialize(); } private void initialize() { this.setSize(729, 400); this.setTitle("Confirmation"); this.add(getJPanel(), BorderLayout.CENTER); } /** * This method initializes jPanel * * @return javax.swing.JPanel */ private JPanel getJPanel() { if (jPanel == null) { UserLastNameLabel = new JLabel(); UserLastNameLabel.setBounds(new Rectangle(121, 60, 167, 26)); //THE PROBLEM?   • Partial view postback from a standard Html form with MVC

    - by fearofawhackplanet
I have a file upload button on my MVC view. After the file is uploaded, my FileList partial view on the page should refresh. I tried to upload with Ajax.BeginForm(), but have discovered that Ajax will not submit file data. I've got the file upload working now by using the jQuery Form plugin, which lets you ajaxify the normal Html.BeginForm() submit method. Is is still possible to trigger the partial page update using this method?

  • I can't send gps values via the eclipse emulator control panel

    - by Janusz
I try to send gps longitude and latitude to the android emulator with eclipse, but the values seem to never be set. Instead the onStatusChanged method of my listener is called. Edit I send those values through the emulator controls in the ddms view in eclipse. If I send data via telnet I get the correct data shown and the onLocationChanged method of my listener is changed.

  • Custom SessionListener, name is not bound in this context, javax.naming.NameNotFoundException

    - by mehmet6parmak
Hi, I am trying to implement HttpSessionListener so that users of this listener can register implementation of ISessionEvent interface to session Events.code is below: public class MySessionListener implements HttpSessionListener{ @Resource ISessionEvent sessionEvent; public ISessionEvent getSessionEvent() { return sessionEvent; } public void setSessionEvent(ISessionEvent sessionEvent) { this.sessionEvent = sessionEvent; } @Override public void sessionCreated(HttpSessionEvent arg0) { sessionEvent.SessionCreated(arg0.getSession()); } @Override public void sessionDestroyed(HttpSessionEvent arg0) { sessionEvent.SessionDestroyed(arg0.getSession()); } } When user implement ISessionEvent and add as a bean, SessionCreated and SessionDestroyed functions of implementation will be called when these events occured. You can ask why dont you just write inside listeners methods, i dont i'm just trying. When i try the code above i got the following error message: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Name com.mehmet6parmak.sessionlistener.MySessionListener is not bound in this Context at org.apache.naming.NamingContext.lookup(NamingContext.java:770) at org.apache.naming.NamingContext.lookup(NamingContext.java:153) at org.apache.catalina.util.DefaultAnnotationProcessor.lookupFieldResource(DefaultAnnotationProcessor.java:278) at org.apache.catalina.util.DefaultAnnotationProcessor.processAnnotations(DefaultAnnotationProcessor.java:187) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext.listenerStart(StandardContext.java:4082) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext.start(StandardContext.java:4630) at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.start(ContainerBase.java:1045) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHost.start(StandardHost.java:785) at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.start(ContainerBase.java:1045) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardEngine.start(StandardEngine.java:445) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardService.start(StandardService.java:519) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardServer.start(StandardServer.java:710) at org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina.start(Catalina.java:581) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap.start(Bootstrap.java:289) at org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap.main(Bootstrap.java:414) Resource annotation causes the error but i could not resolve it. • Play animation (storyboard) backwards

    - by drasto
Is there a simple way to play some StoryBoad backward (reversed) ? As there is a method Storyboard.Begin() I would expect that there is some method like "Storyboard.BeginReversed()" but I cannot find it. If there is no way to play an animation backwards that I have to write for most of my animations complementary animations. That smells bad to me (code duplication of some kind). Basically I just animate a Grid that shows and than hides.

  • add a decorate function to a class

ROOT.TChain.DrawPlot = _DrawPlot when I call this method: chain = TChain() chain.DrawPlot(opts) I got: self.memoized[hash] = self.function(*args) TypeError: _DrawPlot() takes exactly 2 arguments (1 given) why doesn't it propagate self?

  • What is the best .NET Obfuscator tool on the market?

    - by markattwood
I have tried .NET Reactor but it seems to break our complex application even with the most simple option (just rename method name). Also, it does not provide any option to filter method names by Regex like DotFuscator. DotFuscator is very good but it is too expensive. I have heard about Xeno code and other tools. Any one has any ideas on which one is best?

What is the proper indentation for Python multiline strings within a function? def method: string = """line one line two line three""" or def method: string = """line one line two line three""" or something else? It looks kind of weird to have the string hanging outside the function in the first example. Thanks.
