• Registering NUnit DynamicMock Instances in a UnityContainer

  I'm somewhat new to Unity and dependency injection. I'm trying to write a unit test that goes something like this: [Test] public void Test() { UnityContainer container = new UnityContainer(); DynamicMock myMock = new DynamicMock(typeof(IMyInterface)); container.RegisterInstance(typeof(IMyInterface), myMock.MockInstance); //Error here // Continue unit test... } When this test executes, the container throws an ArgumentNullException inside the RegisterInstance method with the message Value cannot be null. Parameter name: assignmentValueType. The top line of the stack trace is at Microsoft.Practices.Unity.Utility.Guard.TypeIsAssignable(Type assignmentTargetType, Type assignmentValueType, String argumentName). Why can't I register a MockInstance with the UnityContainer, and how do I work around this?

  I am trying to populate GridView, using EntityDataSource(code behind), I need to able to sort GridView.   Hi Guys, i'm developing a 32bit Client-Application with Delphi. From this application I need to connect to databases on two different servers. First databse character set ist WE8MSWIN1252, the other server decodes with WE8PC850. Setting the client NLS_LANG parameter to the correct value solves correct sql-query results. Unfortunately this (the client character-set) seems only to be recognized on applications startup (first connect to oracle). I need to change the client-characterset at runtime. Oracle client seems to store the character set an application used to connect! beside: I#m using udl-files to setup the connections (Microsoft OLE DB - driver) what can I do?

• XP Pro product keys

  I have a very serious problem. After my XP Home OS was trashed by rogue software - a trial of a thing named TuneUp - I did a clean install, including HDD reformat of Windows XP Pro from a purchased OEM disk. This was Service Pack 2, subsequently upgraded to SP3. I had conclusively mislaid the product key. I had to access data on the machine VERY urgently and I did not then know that under some circumstances Microsoft might agree to provide a replacement. I found what I now know must have been a pirate key on the Net which enabled installation but NOT activation. This of course left me functional but 30 days before meltdown - about 20 days left as I write this. Various retailers want around £100 for retail with matching product key. - this would be paying twice over just to continue use on the same computer. I have neither need nor intention of installing XP Pro on any other computer. I have tried a number of applications claiming to deal with this problem but none of them work. A Belarc profile shows that the pirate key has replaced the original one on the system. I have now found two keys, one of which might be the original, but neither work. I am about to upgrade the HDD and it looks like I will just be passing the problem on when I install XP. I have retrieved a key from the disk, but it is seemingly one Microsoft use in production and does not work. It is 76487-OEM-0015242-71798. The keys I have, one of which which might or might not be the original, are CD87T-HFP4G-V7X7H-8VY68-W7D7M and FC8GV-8Y7G7-XKD7P-Y47XF-P829W (or P819W - I believe it to be the latter, but the box will not accept it). The pirate key which has enabled this install and which is now stored on the system but will not activate is QQHHK-T4DKG-74KG7-BQB9G-W47KG. In these circumstances is it likely that Microsoft would issue a replacement? Is there any other solution? I am not trying to defraud anyone, just to keep on using the product I legitimately bought.   I have some code which is generating a rather long command that is being sent to System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(). The call fails with a Win32Exception, message "The filename or extension is too long". The path to the program itself is not very long, but the parameters passed in are quite long. I am calling the version where an instance of ProcessStartInfo is passed as the parameter, and in this case its the ProcessStartInfo.Arguments .Field that is very long. (other parameters: CreateNoWindow = true, UseShellExecute = false, RedirectStandardError = true). It looks like the exception is coming from a call to win32 function CreateProcess. Does anyone have an idea of another way to start the process?

• Ignore certificate errors when requesting a URL in Java

  I'm trying to print a URL (without having a browser involved at all) but the URL is currently throwing the following: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target I'm calling the URL using a JEditorPane's setPage method, which just takes a URL as a parameter. Assuming I can't change anything server side and I still need to get to this resource, how would I go about ignoring the certificate error (or something else that gets me to my goal)? Accessing this URL via a browser tells me the site is untrusted and asks me if I want to proceed.

This details cannot be stored on server in any form due to security related policies. i got 2 approaches to handle this situation, 1. create hidden parameter file with login details and limit the access to owner. again the implication is i cannot store login data in any format on server 2. Create the user as OS authenticated and straight away login into sql without any userid/password I am not able to figure out risks involved in 2nd approach which u experienced folks could have come across. let me know if there is any other approach to handle password leakage issue

  I have a role based ASP.NET C# web application in which I am putting the menu object inside a session and I have a session timeout configured in the web.config as below: <forms defaultUrl="Home.aspx" loginUrl="Login.aspx" name=".ASPXFORMSAUTH" timeout="10"></forms> I first logged into the system as an employee and waited until the session expires and then when I click a link in the menu I am being rightly redirected to the login page with the ReturnUrl parameter. Now when I try to login to the system as an administrator I am still seeing the employee menu and not the admin menu. The method which loads the menu 1st checks to see if the menu session object is not null if so loads the menu from the session if not then it builds the menu and put it into session. So when the system timesout the menu session object is not being cleared. How can I fix this?

  I have a list of Accommodation objects bound to a Repeater, and then a nested Repeater which has the various attendee groups listed [e.g. Default, Seniors, Juniors]. This is all output fine, with the values displayed as LinkButtons, which when clicked gets sent to a code-behind event handler. Here is an example of the output to give you a picture [with some er... interesting attendee group names]: In the event handler, I test the object parameter to see which Repeater has been sent, as the outer repeater's links can also be clicked [so the Accommodation would be set, but no Attendee Group]. Is there a way to get a HiddenField from the outer RepeaterItem that contains the currently clicked inner repeater's LinkButton? E.g. From the image, I click the Attending link in the Women section. So the EventArgs via FindControl can get me the hidden field which contains the Attendee Group's ID, which is good, but I also need the Accommodation ID [to know whether it was either Wimbledon Hotel Inn or New Acc]

  I have a HTTPService in my Flex 4 app that I call like this: getUserDetails.send(userLookup.text); In my Ruby on Rails method that this is linked to, how do I refer to the userLookup.text parameter? I have recently started learning regular expressions in my Java programming however am a little confused how to get certain features to work correctly directly in BASH. For example, the following code is not working as I think it should. echo 2222 | grep '2\{2\}' I am expecting it to return: 22 I have tried variations of it including: echo 2222 | grep '2{2}' echo 2222 | grep -P '2\{2\}' echo 2222 | grep -E '2\{2\}' However I am completely out of ideas. I'm sure this is a simple parameter / syntax fix and would love some help! P.S I've done tons of googling and every reference I find does not work in BASH; regex's can run on so many different platforms and engines =/

• Getting a JPEG image from a hex string in XML.

  Well here goes, I am trying to collect a picture that is encoded as a hex string in an xml file. I have been looking all over for the answer to this and have not been able to find it any where. Here is what I have now. byte[] bytes = Convert.FromBase64String(FilterResults("PHOTOGRAPH")); MemoryStream mem = new MemoryStream(bytes); Image bmp2 = Image.FromStream(mem); return bmp2; The FilterResults function just returns the string from the XML. I am able to get the string of characters and convert it into a byte[] but as soon as I execute the Image.FromStream(mem) I get an "Parameter Incorrect" error. Any ideas?

  hi, I have methods which return interface and some methods which accepts interface as parameters. I am trying to use Net DataContractSerializer but I am getting following error... The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: There was an error while trying to deserialize parameter http://tempuri.org/:id. The InnerException message was 'Error in line 1 position 120. XML 'Element' 'http://tempuri.org/:id' does not contain expected attribute 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/2003/10/Serialization/:Type'. The deserializer has no knowledge of which type to deserialize. Check that the type being serialized has the same contract as the type being deserialized.'. Please see InnerException for more details. Please help me how to resolve this error.... If I use Netdatacontract attribute on Operation Contract, can i use DataContract and Datamember attribute on serializable class??? Thanks in advance...

• Use DivX settings to encode to mp4 with ffmpeg

  I'm used to use VirtualDub to encode a video to AVI container with DivX-codec (and MP3 for audio). Now I'm planning to use ffmpeg to encode videos to MP4 container with h264-codec. What I've figured out is that I need to use libx264 and one of those presets to make anything work. However, I'm amazed about the video bitrate ffmpeg uses for encoding. What I currently have is this little batch file: @ECHO OFF SETLOCAL SET IN=source.avs SET FFMPEG_PATH=C:\Program Files (x86)\ffmpeg SET PRESET=-fpre "%FFMPEG_PATH%\presets\libx264-lossless_slow.ffpreset" SET AUDIO=-acodec libmp3lame -ab 128000 SET VIDEO=-vcodec libx264 -vb 1978000 "%FFMPEG_PATH%\ffmpeg.exe" -i %IN% %AUDIO% %VIDEO% %PRESET% test.mp4 ENDLOCAL With this I tell ffmpeg to use 1978k as the bitrate, but ffmpeg uses 15000k+! I tried other presets, but they don't use my specified bitrate. Just in case you wonder how I came up with the 1978000, I'm using this formula which I found valid for DivX-files (I'm guessing the bitrate won't change that much for h264): width * height * 25 * 0.22 / 1000 I'm not sure if the 0.22 correlates with the CRF somehow. Overall I forgot to say the I will use a two-pass scenario, which is why I don't use the CRF here. I will try to read more about this. Currently I'm just trying to get something running that shows me that I'm doing something right (ffmpeg isn't the easiest tool to understand ;)). Is there a better way to do this as in a way to fillin the text body box of gmail compose section. Or some way to open the page and have it prefilled with javascript some how...

  Long story, long: I am adding a web interface (ASPX.NET: VB) to a data acquisition system developed with LabVIEW which outputs raw data files. These raw data files are the binary representation of a LabVIEW cluster (essentially a structure). LabVIEW provides functions to instantiate a class or structure or call a method defined in a .NET DLL file. I plan to create a DLL file containing a structure definition and a class with methods to transfer the structure. When the webpage requests data, it would call a LabVIEW executable with a filename parameter. The LabVIEW code would instantiate the structure, populate the structure from the data file, then call the method to transfer the data back to the website. Long story, short: How do you recommend I transfer (copy) an instance of a structure from one .NET program to a VB.NET program? Ideas considered: sockets, temp file, xml file, config file, web services, CSV, some type of serialization, shared memory

  Hello. How can I resize the height of a ListView depending on how many items are in that ListView? I'm trying to get the text of an item which is clicked, however whenever the user clicks on a space which has no item, there's an error. The exact error is: InvalidArgument=Value of '0' is not valid for 'index'. Parameter name: index. I'm using the code: label14.Text = myListView1.SelectedItems[0].Text.ToString(); I figured that removing the space below the items will solve this problem. Thanks!
