    Does anyone know if Fiddler can display the raw SOAP messages for ASMX web services? I'm testing a simple web service using both Fiddler2 and Storm and the results vary (Fiddler shows plain xml while Storm shows the SOAP messages).   • Ajax to read updated values from XML

    I am creating file upload progress bar. I have a CGI script which copies the data, and here I increment the progress bar value by ONE after certain iterations. I am storing the incremented value in XML file (I also tried using plain text file). On the other side I have ajax reading incremented value from xml and depending on that it increments the DIV element. However, what happens here is, it seems to me that although the ajax reads all the incremented values but it processes it after the CGI has finished execution. That is progress bar starts execution once the file copying and other stuff in CGI is completed.   • Each request takes 25-30 sec for Google Analytics API?

    I'm using GAPI library (in PHP) for querying Google Analytics API. I request 2 dimensions (pagePath, date), 2 metric (pageviews, visits), past 365 days time range, and 2 filters for pagePath. Average time to get data for one query is 25-30 sec. When I use only 1 metric (pageviews), average response time is 3 sec. Why would there be such a difference when using 1 or 2 metrics?

  • Ubuntu 11.04 and OpenLDAP - where is the config?

    I've been asked to setup a multimaster LDAP environment on Ubuntu 11.04 - instead of a single master server. I cloned the master server and recreated it into two VMs. I am trying to follow the instructions on the OpenLDAP documentation here: http://www.openldap.org/doc/admin24/replication.html and it talks about modifying the cn=config tree within LDAP. The subdirectory tree appears to be there at: /etc/ldap/slapd.d/ and a slapcat -b cn=config drops out a load of config information. When I try to connect using a browser and the admin bind credentials: ldapsearch -D '<adminDN>' -w <password> -b 'cn=config' I get: # extended LDIF # # LDAPv3 # base <> (default) with scope subtree # filter: (objectclass=*) # requesting: ALL # # search result search: 2 result: 32 No such object I don't see the config context when I connect via an LDAP browser either. I'm sure I'm missing something, but I can't see what it is!

  • How to search for a Windows 8 folder by name

    In Windows 7, if you press the Windows key and type the name of a folder, and the folder shows up among the Start menu search results. In Windows 8, if you do the same thing, no folders are listed. The Files filter shows files with matching names, but no folders. I realize that you can still search for folders from the Windows Explorer search box, but navigating that way is a bit slow and clumsy. Is there a quicker way, in particular a way to search directly from the Windows 8 Start screen?

  • Asp Dot Net : IHttpModule + m_context.Server.Transfer = session state error

    I have an IHttpModule that implements IRequiresSessionState. The session state is at "on" on the page directive and I also added it to the web.config. In the method "OnBeginRequest" in the IHttpModule, I make a Server.Transfer but I get the error : Session state can only be used when enableSessionState is set to true, either in a configuration file or in the Page directive. When I access the page directly or with a Response.Redirect, there is no error. Any idea?

    How can I limit the upload and download bandwidth on my CentOS server? This is a box with a single interface, eth0. Ideally, I would like a command-line solution (I've been trying to use tc), something that I could easily switch on and off in a script. So far I've been trying to do something like tc filter add dev eth0 protocol ip prio 50 u32 police rate 100kbit burst 10240 drop but I'm obviously missing a lot of knowledge and information.   • HttpURLConnection does not read the whole respnse

    I use HttpURLConnection to do HTTP POST but I dont always get back the full response. I wanted to debug the problem, but when I step through each line it worked. I thought it must be a timing issue so I added Thread.sleep and it really made my code work, but this is only a temporary workaround. I wonder why is this happening and how to solve.   • Winamp question: I want to search through my songs by which playlists they're sorted into

    I'm trying to think of a way to do this. I sort my songs into a variety of playlists corresponding to different 'moods' I might have, but some songs fit for more than one kind of mood (e.g. a techno song might be 'stylish' and 'surreal', or something to that effect). I also give them different star ratings for a general sort of opinion about them. I want to be able to filter my media library by moods I want or don't want, as well as by star rating. Anyone have a good way to do something like this? Alternatively, is there a way to 'tag' my songs by mood and then search up by those tags? because then I could just dump the queried results into playlists as needed. Thanks in advance.

Update: After examining the code, I have discovered it is not possible. The Ent Lib TraceListeners do not actually utilize the config attributes they specify in overriding TraceListener.GetSupportedAttributes(), despite the recommendations in the .NET TraceListener documentation.     I'm writing out wave files in Java using AudioInputStream output = new AudioInputStream(new ByteArrayInputStream(rawPCMSamples), new AudioFormat(22000,16,1,true,false), rawPCMSamples.length) AudioSystem.write(output, AudioFileFormat.Type.WAVE, new FileOutputStream('somefile.wav')) And I get what appears to be corrupt wave files on OSX. They won't play from Finder however using the same code behind a servlet writing directly to the response stream and setting the Content-Type to audio/wave seems to play fine in quicktime. What gives?

Suppose the Active Directory Server has nodes, each of which is another Active Directory Installation in a different geographic location. Eg: one AD server in US and another in Australia with a root AD Server in US with the former two as nodes. Would the filter queries I write for searching users across geographic locations work if I run them on the root AD server ?. The query I use is (|(objectClass=user)(objectClass=person)(objectClass=inetOrgPerson)) I cannot actually test this scenario but need to know the what will happen here.

Would the filter queries I write for searching users across geographic locations work if I run them on the root AD server ?. The query I use is (|(objectClass=user)(objectClass=person)(objectClass=inetOrgPerson)) I cannot actually test this scenario but need to know the what will happen here.

  • decrypting AES files in an apache module?

    I have a client with a security policy compliance requirement to encrypt certain files on disk. The obvious way to do this is with Device-mapper and an AES crypto module However the current system is setup to generate individual files that are encrypted. What are my options for decrypting files on-the-fly in apache? I see that mod_ssl and mod_session_crypto do encryption/decryption or something similar but not exactly what I am after. I could imagine that a PerlSetOutputFilter would work with a suitable Perl script configured, and I also see mod_ext_filter so I could just fork a unix command and decrypt the file, but they both feel like a hack. I am kind of surprised that there is no mod_crypto available...or am I missing something obvious here? Presumably resource-wise the perl filter is the way to go?

  • Removing emails from all mailbox with certain text in subject

    So, we had an errant program kick off about 15,000 emails to our users. I have our spam filters now blocking these on the edge until that gets resolved, but now I would like to clean our our users' mailboxes for them. Is there anyway with Exchange 2007 to remove all emails with certain text in the subject line? It would need to be a partial match because the subject changes slightly for each email. I am trying to do this with Forefront's manual scan job + content filter, but it does not seem to like partial matches on the subject.

  • How can I query Google Spreadsheets API with a string value?

    I am using Zend_Gdata_SpreadsheetsListQuery. In PHP my query is: "confirmation=$confirmation" The problem is that $confirmation = 'AB-CD-EFG-012345'; Apparently the hyphens are causing problems with the query and the exception thrown is: Uncaught exception 'Zend_Gdata_App_HttpException' with message 'Expected response code 200, got 400 Parse error: Invalid token encountered' How can I quote or escape the value to not cause parse errors? Single quotes cause the same error, double quotes don't throw errors but there are no results to match.
