    I thought that in GO language, slices are passed by reference. But why the following code doesn't change the content of slice c? Am I missing something? I have those partitions (in Windows) for example: Hard Disk 1 - Partition C, Partition D Hard Disk 2 - Partition E Is there any way in a program language to know if for example partition C and partition D are in one physical hard disk without WMI? I don't want to use WMI because it's slow - for this example, it took for me 0.5 seconds. I need it to be fast. Thank you.

    I'm using the standard gcc compiler in math software development with C-language. I don't know that much about compilers or compiler options, and I was just wondering, is it possible to make faster executables using another compiler or choosing better options? The default Makefile sets options -ffast-math and -O3 and I think both of them have some impact in the overall calculation time. My software is using memory quite extensively, so I imagine some options related to memory management might do the trick? Any ideas?

  • domain name vs ip address, same server, but different speed

    I have two similar sites: - two of them have almost exactly the same codes, and running on the same server - both sites are the same, they just use different language. - database of the slower site is populated (maybe only the user table) the other tables for site content is the same - the faster uses root to access database one of the sites is not released yet, so it uses IP Address to access the site instead of domain name the site that is using IP address is faster (lot faster) the site that is using domain name is slower do you know why is this happening what could be the reason?
