  • WPF Trigger when Property and Data value are true

    I need to be able to change the style of a control when a property and data value are true. For example, my bound data has an IsDirty property. I would like to change the background color of my control when IsDirty is true AND the control is selected. I found the MultiTrigger and MultiDataTrigger classes...but in this case I need to somehow trigger on data and property. How can I do this?

  • Running an existing LINQ query against a dynamic object (DataTable like)

    Hello, I am working on a generic OData provider to go against a custom data provider that we have here. Thsi is fully dynamic in that I query the data provider for the table it knows. I have a basic storage structure in place so far based on the OData sample code. My problem is: OData supports queries and expects me to hand in an IQueryable implementation. On the lowe rside, I dont have any query support. Not a joke - the provider returns tables and the WHERE clause is not supported. Performance is not an issue here - the tables are small. It is ok to sort them in the OData provider. My main problem is this. I submit a SQL statement to get out the data of a table. The result is some sort of ADO.NET data reader here. I need to expose an IQueryable implementation for this data to potentially allow later filtering. Any ide ahow to best touch that? .NET 3.5 only (no 4.0 planned for some time). I was seriously thinking of creating dynamic DTO classes for every table (emitting bytecode) so I can use standard LINQ. Right now I am using a dictionary per entry (not too efficient) but I see no real way to filter / sort based on them.

  • Making GUI applications on Linux/Windows. What languages/tools to use?

    My student group and I are trying to continue working on a project we worked on this semester over the summer to become a professional, deployable app. We originally did it in Adobe AIR but it seems now that the computers this program will be running on will be very slow, maybe 600mhz and 128-256mb ram so flash just isn't going to cut it. It is basically a health diagnosis application that we will be shipping out to impoverished countries. Now comes the real question. We are wondering what language to rebuild our application in. It has to have a good gui builder associated with it, like adobe flex/air gui builder or visual studio's gui builder but the application should run on linux primarily, and if it can run on windows thats just a plus. We are all students too without really any outside help so whatever we decide to do this in there must be ample documentation available when we hit problems. Some things we have considered so far are using python and glade or c# and monodevelop, but again we really are not experts on any of this which is why I am asking for help as I would rather spend the time now choosing the right tools instead of wasting time down the line when we hit a roadblock.   • Recommendations for an in memory database vs thread safe data structures

    TLDR: What are the pros/cons of using an in-memory database vs locks and concurrent data structures? I am currently working on an application that has many (possibly remote) displays that collect live data from multiple data sources and renders them on screen in real time. One of the other developers have suggested the use of an in memory database instead of doing it the standard way our other systems behaves, which is to use concurrent hashmaps, queues, arrays, and other objects to store the graphical objects and handling them safely with locks if necessary. His argument is that the DB will lessen the need to worry about concurrency since it will handle read/write locks automatically, and also the DB will offer an easier way to structure the data into as many tables as we need instead of having create hashmaps of hashmaps of lists, etc and keeping track of it all. I do not have much DB experience myself so I am asking fellow SO users what experiences they have had and what are the pros & cons of inserting the DB into the system?

After downloading the ZIP folder, however, I've found no source. The program is written in REAL Basic, which I don't know anything about.     Hello, On my server, I have following setting: open_basedir /home/ :/usr/lib/php :/usr/local/lib/php :/tmp/ :/usr/local/ :/usr/bin Now, I am little bit confused about ending / in the / home / setting, does that mean that all subfolders inside home have same rights? or does it mean that only home files can be accessed? So, basically what is the main difference between: /home/ and /home With example if possible Thank you in advance.

  • How can I visualise a "broken" hierarchical dataset?

    I have a reasonably large datatable structured something like this: StaffNo Grade Direct Boss2 Boss3 Boss4 Boss5 Boss6 ------- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- 10001 1 10002 10002 10057 10094 10043 10099 10002 2 10057 NULL 10057 10094 10043 10099 10003 1 10004 10004 10057 10094 10043 10099 10004 2 10057 NULL 10057 10094 10043 10099 10057 3 10094 NULL NULL 10094 10043 10099 etc.... i.e. a unique id , their level (grade) in the hierarchy, a record of their bosses ID and the IDs of the supervisors above. (The 2,3,4, etc refers to the boss at that particular grade). The system relies on a strict hierarchy - if you are my boss (/parent) then your boss must be my grandparent. Unfortunately this rule is not enforced within the data model and the data ultimately comes from other systems which don't even know about the rule, let alone observe it. So you and I may share the same boss, but our bosses boss won't be the same. note: I cannot change the data model I cannot fix the data at source. So (for the moment) I have to fix the data once it's in place. Once a fortnight someone will do something which breaks the model and I'll need to modify the procs slightly to resolve. Not ideal, but I'm stuck with this for the next six months. Anyway, specific queries are easy to produce but I find it hard to keep track of the bigger picutre. The application which sits on this runs without complaint regardless but navigating around the system becoming extraordinarily confusing. So my question is: Can anyone recommend a tool (or technique) for generating some kind of "broken tree" diagram in this sort of circumstances? I don't want something that will fix things for me, or attempt statistical analysis but at least something that will give a visual indication of how broken it is at any one time. Note : At the moment this is in a SQL Server database but I'm open to ideas utilising C#, Perl or Python.

    I need to provide an update to application data as a download from a website. The update would actually just be the replacing of some data files with some updated ones. The update, which I assume would be some sort of setup package type program, would need to be able to do the following: access the file system and registry to determine where files should be copied to supply the files to be copied provide strong security so the data files cannot be downloaded or used by the wrong people What would be best way to achieve all of the above?

  • Netbeans 7.2 won't open on OS X

    I installed Netbeans on OSX Mountain Lion running JDK 7. Everything was working fine. Then my machine for no reason crashed. After this I could no longer open Netbeans anymore. If I try to start Netbeans from the commandline: /Applications/NetBeans/NetBeans 7.2.app/Contents/MacOS/netbeans Then it works fine. From there I can select Netbeans About and confirm that my userdir and cachedir is: User directory: /Users/<user>/Library/Application Support/NetBeans/7.2 Cache directory: /Users/<user>/Library/Caches/NetBeans/7.2 So, I deleted these directories and tried again, but alas, I can only start netbeans via the commandline. Ideas appreciated...

  • SWT Filedialog Open into home folder

    I want to open a FileDialog window into the user home folder (i.e. /home/user or /Users/unsername) I read the user home folder, using System.getProperty: String homefolder = System.getProperty(user.home); And the variable containts the correct home folder. But when i set the filterpath in FileDialog, it opens (in linux) only the /home level not entering into the user home dir.     How do I bind any version or a range of versions of an assembly by using the app.config? I'm currently binding the MySql.Data assembly like this: <runtime> <assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1" applies-to="v2.0.50727"> <qualifyAssembly partialName="MySql.Data" fullName="MySql.Data, Version=6.2.2.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=c5687fc88969c44d, processorArchitecture=MSIL"/> </assemblyBinding> </runtime> Any version of MySql.Data other than 6.2.2.0 is not working this way. The versions of this assembly are changing fast so I either want to bind any or all versions beginning with 6.2 to my application without changing the app.config each time.

  • Someone selling my GPL theme

    I'm having a tough time trying to figure out the best way to handle this. I've created a few themes last year, released them under a GPL license, and pretty much forgot about them. My goal was to put them out publicly as samples of my work. I've recently come across a site and was shocked they are selling one of my themes among several other themes (not mine) and other support and package systems. Anyway needless to say I'm not happy about this. I did not intend for those themes to be sold, and if they are to be sold, at least I would expect a percentage of those sales. I contacted the website asking how many they sold and that I'm the author of one of the themes they were selling. I eventually received a reply that my theme is a GPL theme and that this license allows them to sell it without compensation to me. WTF? Just the way the reply was worded pissed me off. There is no way to comment on the site to inform possible buyers that those themes can be downloaded from my site. What can I do about this? I realize now it was a bad choice to release them under that license. Is it possible to take back the theme from public distribution or is it out forever. Can I change it from GPL to another license at this point? Will that be sufficient to stop the sale of my theme in the future? Any insights are appreciated.

  • cahoots - zend framework application is not running

    hello everyone, I downloaded cahoots from sourceforge.net. It is a zend framework application. Very nicely done and I must say that it should be a nice tutorial for everyone who is struggling to learn Zend framework. But my problem is that even after reading the instructions this application is still not running. The application just doesn't run at all giving an error message. I have tried my best. no success :( Also I wanted to execute the application as "http://localhost/cahoots" but it runs by this URL "http://localhost/cahoots/public". why is it so.? I am using XAMPP v 1.7.1 with mod-rewrite enabled. Please guide me through the process. Any good tutorials on zend framework with zend tool would be appreciable. I want to learn this framework.   • SSIS Data Flow Task Excel Source

    Hi, I have a data flow task set up in SSIS. The source is from an Excel source not an SQL DB. The problem i seem to get is that, the package is importing empty rows. My data has data in 555200 rows, but however when importing the SSIS package imports over 900,000 rows. The extra rows are imported even though the other empty. When i then download this table into excel there are empty rows in between the data. Is there anyway i can avoid this? Thanks Gerard

  • Push or Pull to Excel for reporting data

    I am unsure which is the best way to go here. I have a third party Excel 2003 spreadsheet that needs to be filled in on a monthly basis and emailed. Currently it is a manual process and I am in the process of automating the generation of the spreadsheet. I have been throwing around different ideas of how to get the data into the spreadsheet. I have thought of using SSRS to create a report that is in a similar format and get the user to cut and past. Alternatively writing a VBA addin that retrieves that data from a webservice and then adds the data to the spreadsheet. Or using the third party spreadsheet as a template and open it on the server via oledb and adding the data then serving it as a downloadable file. Which is better or are the better solutions out there?

  • Limit the model data fields serialized by Web API based on the return type Interface

    We're updating our architecture to use a single object model for desktop, web and mobile that can be used in the MVVM pattern. I would like to be able to limit the data fields that are serialized through Web API by using interfaces on the controllers. This is required because the model objects for mobile are stored in HTML5 local storage so don't carry optional data while a thin desktop client would be able to store (and work with) more data. To achieve this a model will implement the different interfaces that define which data fields should be serialized and there will be a controller specific to the interface. The problem is that the Web API always serializes every field in the model even if it is not part of the interface being returned. How can we only serialize fields in the returned interface?

  • Facebook Open Graph Not Showing Object Title

    I'm having conflicting reports for our users that people that share Object Graph objects to their wall, are sometimes showing the Object title and other times not. Specifically, every test I do on my own account shows the Object Title, but on their Mobile apps - it doesn't appear. I've tested the Open Graph debugger.So I have a couple of questions: Is there a length limit on the number of characters? Does Facebook not show the whole Object.title on Mobile? Does Facebook scrap the OG tags and if it can't find them or if it timeout do they not receive them?
