• Build and migrated to software raid (mdadm) on GPT disk, now can't assemble array

  mdadm, gpt issues, unrecognized partitions. Simplified question: How do I get mdadm to recognize GPT partitions? I have been attempting to convert/copy my Ubuntu 11.10 OS from a single drive to software raid 1. I have done similar in the past, but in this case, I was adding in a drive that has been configured for GPT and I tried to work with that without fully looking into the implications. Currently, I have a non-booting mdadm RAID 1 array of /dev/md127 (the OS assigned that and it keeps picking up). I am booting off of live USB keys, currently System Rescue CD from sysresccd. While gdisk and parted can see all the partitions, most of the OS utilities do not, including mdadm. My main goal is just to make the raid array accessible so I can get pull the data and start fresh (without using GPT). /dev/md127 /dev/sda /dev/sda1 <- GPT type partition /dev/sda1 <- exists within the GPT part, member of md127 /dev/sda2 <- exists within the GPT part, empty /dev/sdb /dev/sdb1 <- GPT type partition /dev/sdb1 <- exists within the GPT part, member of md127 History: POINT A: The original OS was install on sda (actually /dev/sda6). I used a the Ubuntu live usb to add sdb. I got warning from fdisk about GPT so I used gdisk to create a raid partition (sdb1) and mdadm to create a raid1 mirror with a missing drive. I had many issues getting this working (including being unable to get grub to install) but I eventually got it to boot using grub on sda and /dev/md127 off of sdb. So at point A, I had copied my OS from sda6 to md127 on sdb. I then booted into a rescue mode and attempted to get a bootloader onto sdb, which failed. I then discovered my mistake: I had installed the raid onto sdb instead of sdb1, essentially overwriting the sdb1 partition. POINT B: I now had two copies of my data- one on md127/sdb, and one on sda. I destroyed data on sda and created a new GPT table on sda. I then created sda1 for the raid array, and sda2 for a scratch partition. I added sda1 into the raid array and let it rebuild. md127 now covered /dev/sdb and /dev/sda1 as fully active and synced. POINT C: I rebooted onto linux rescue again and was still able to access the raid array. I then removed /dev/sdb from the array and created /dev/sdb1 for the raid. I added sdb1 to the array and let it sync. I was able to mount and access /dev/md127 without issues. Once it completed, both /dev/sda1 and /dev/sdb1 were GPT partitions and actively syncing. POINT D (current): I rebooted again to test if the array would boot and grub failed to load. • Jquery autocomplete for input form, using Textpattern category list as a source

  I'm using the Textpattern CMS to build a discussion site-- I have a firm grasp of XHTML and CSS, as well as Textpattern's template language, but PHP and Javascript are a bit beyond my cunning. On the input form to begin a new topic, users need to select a category from a list of over 5,000 options. Using the HTML select-type input element is very unwieldy, but it works. I would like to use some kind of Javascript magic to display a text-type input element that will read user input and display matches or autocomplete from the available categories, passing the required option's value into the appropriate database field. I've seen several autocomplete plugins for jquery, but the instructions presuppose that you understand how Javascript works. As I mentioned above, it's easy for me to generate the category list as a select-type input element, and I can hide that element using CSS. Is it possible to control select-list input using an autocomplete mechanism in a text-type input element? How would I do that?

  If all browsers supported attribute selectors, we could easily do the following: input[type='text'] { font:bold 0.8em 'courier new',courier,monospace; } input[type='radio'] { margin:0 20px; } input[type='checkbox'] { border:2px solid red; But I don't think all IE versions of ^ and greater support this. I think I'd like to avoid skins. Not sure why, other than I tried them and I recall having a negative experience. It was probably my lack of knowledge. Are there any issues in using and CSS, external or otherwise? What's the best way to handle this? Currently I am assigning separate classes to each control type.

• Problems uploading different file types in codeigniter

  Below is my script that i'm using to upload different files. All the solutions I've found deal only with multiple image uploads. I am totally stumped for a solution on this. The url format is like this: /purchase.php?cDd=1&transaction_id=xxxxxxx&verify=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx=&method=creditcard&type=purchase transaction_id= is populated with a sept of numbers verify= is populated by a string of numbers, letters in both caps and lower case Basically I would like to only match URLs which finish by "&method=creditcard&type=purchase" I have tried to just put &method=creditcard&type=purchase but it does retrieve other URLs too Would anyone has any ideas

  Background Our email vendor supports rss feeds for dynamic content, which we use successfully for "daily headline" type emails. This is a great help in automating many different emails that we don't have staffing to create daily. One of our staff as requested that his daily email (which has recent headlines from his Movable Type blog) only have headlines from entries posted on that day. My Question Since we use Movable Type for his blog, is there a way to generate a rss feed that only contains items posted on the current day?

• Why does resolveBinding() return null even though I setResolveBindings(true) on my ASTParser?

  I am writing an Eclipse plug-in that uses JDT AST's ASTParser to parse a method. I am looking within that method for the creation of a particular type of object. When I find a ClassInstanceCreation, I call getType() on it to see what type is being instantiated. I want to be sure that the fully-resolved type being dealt with there is the one I think it is, so I tell the resultant Type object to resolveBinding(). I get null back even though there are no compilation errors and even though I called setResolveBindings(true) on my ASTParser. Person class has property named "ContactNumber" which returns the Contact type, and this property is marked as "Datamember" for serialization. i have marked Contact type as "DAtaContract". on client side i am able to get the values, but when i try to insert a value and then do submit, i get the below exception.   I want to query for a set of results based on the contents of a list, I've managed to do this for a single instance of the class Foo, but I'm unsure how I would do this for a IList<Foo>. • Function that copies into byte vector reverses values

  Hey, I've written a function to copy any variable type into a byte vector, however whenever I insert something it gets inserted in reverse. Here's the code. template <class Type> void Packet::copyToByte(Type input, vector<uint8_t>&output) { copy((uint8_t*) &input, ((uint8_t*) &input) + sizeof(Type), back_inserter(output)); } Now whenever I add for example a uint16_t with the value 0x2f1f it gets inserted as 1f 2f instead of the expected 2f 1f. • Chrome not sending POST requests on localhost, Firefox works fine

  I have copied the simple Django forms example exactly, running on localhost. The basic contact form example should submit a POST request when you click the Submit button. I'm running Chrome on Mac Snow Leopard, and whenever I submit the form, the page simply reloads with an empty form: I can see from the runserver output that it's not sending a POST - instead it's sending a GET request. If I open the same page in Firefox on Mac Snow Leopard, and submit the form, I can see it's sending a POST request (as it should be). Looking at the source in Chrome, the form definitely says method="post". <form action="/contact/" method="post"> <p><label for="id_subject">Subject:</label> <input id="id_subject" type="text" name="subject" maxlength="100" /></p> <p><label for="id_message">Message:</label> <input type="text" name="message" id="id_message" /></p> <p><label for="id_sender">Sender:</label> <input type="text" name="sender" id="id_sender" /></p> <p><label for="id_cc_myself">Cc myself:</label> <input type="checkbox" name="cc_myself" id="id_cc_myself" /></p> <input type="submit" value="Submit" /> </form> External sites with POST forms seem to work OK in Chrome. In addition, if I fill the form in incorrectly, in Chrome the page just reloads, with a GET request, as before; in Firefox the form gets validated, as it should. I've tried with other POST forms on localhost and got the same result. I know Chrome for Mac has its quirks, but what on earth is going on?

But then I access the page using the new url route, I get this error. Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object expected Anyone have an idea why this occurs? Thanks.

But I want use U to differentiate the type (one logic) like NullReferenceException, ArgumentNull Exception, etc. but want to leave the base function(no differentiation by type - other logic) as well.

• Xcode, Dev Docs Search Field Loosing Focus?

  I am having a strange issue with the developer documentation (which i have only noticed after installing Xcode 3.2.3). My problem is that as you type in the search field (upper right) it looses focus and immediately starts looking for the first few letters you type. For example if you looking for "NSObject" you start typing "NSO" and as you type the field looses focus the last 5 characters "bject" just give beeps as you need to reselect the field to type extra characters. Has anyone else come across this or know what the problem might be? cheers Gary.
