  Hello, I'm working on a c++ code that uses SDL/opengl. Is this possible to create a pointer to a quadric with 'gluNewQuadric()' before having initialized opengl with 'SDL_SetVideoMode'? The idea is to create a class with a (pointer to a) quadric class member that has to be instantiate before the 'SDL_SetVideoMode' call. This pointer is initialized in the class' constructor with a 'gluNewQuadric()' call.

  I two sets of k-dimensional vectors, where k is around 500 and the number of vectors is usually smaller. I want to compute the (arbitrarily defined) minimal distance between the two sets. A naive approach would be this: (loop for a in set1 for b in set2 minimizing (distance a b)) However, this requires O(n² * distance) computations. Is there a faster way of doing this?

• Symfony - Override sf_format when calling get_partial.

  I'm making an AJAX call in my symfony project, so it has an sf_format of 'js'. In the actionSuccess.js.php view, I call get_partial to update the content on the page. By default it looks for the partial in 'js' format since the sf_format is still set as 'js'. Is it possible to override the sf_format so that it uses the regular 'html' partial that I already have (so that I don't have to have two identical partials)?

  I am getting inling warning such as : warning: inlining failed in call to ‘symbol_Arity’: call is unlikely and code size would grow To get rid of this i changed the makefile adding the -Winline to get rid of this. I don't get any inlining warning. But , i don't know how wise is it to do in respect of performance. Can anybody please suggest me about it?

I have come to believe char*'s are preferable because of the ability to do pointer arithmetic and derefernce them over void*'s, is that true? If( not(false and (true)) = if not( false) =if( true) which implies it should enters the loop But it is not happening Can someone let me know if i am wrong at any place
