  • How to get associated URLRequest from Event.COMPLETE fired by URLLoader

    - by matt lohkamp
    So let's say we want to load some XML - var xmlURL:String = 'content.xml'; var xmlURLRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest(xmlURL); var xmlURLLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(xmlURLRequest); xmlURLLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, function(e:Event):void{ trace('loaded',xmlURL); trace(XML(e.target.data)); }); If we need to know the source URL for that particular XML doc, we've got that variable to tell us, right? Now let's imagine that the xmlURL variable isn't around to help us - maybe we want to load 3 XML docs, named in sequence, and we want to use throwaway variables inside of a for-loop: for(var i:uint = 3; i > 0; i--){ var xmlURLLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(new URLRequest('content'+i+'.xml')); xmlURLLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, function(e:Event):void{ trace(e.target.src); // I wish this worked... trace(XML(e.target.data)); }); } Suddenly it's not so easy, right? I hate that you can't just say e.target.src or whatever - is there a good way to associate URLLoaders with the URL they loaded data from? Am I missing something? It feels unintuitive to me.

  • Android XML. What is the purpose of the star in the ID string?

    - by alex2k8
    In some sources I see such declarations <item android:id="@+id/menu_display_groups" android:icon="@*android:drawable/ic_menu_allfriends" android:title="@string/menu_displayGroup" /> Notice the * @*android: It seems to give access to internal resources. But would like to know for sure. Also curious, if it is safe to build application with such declarations using Android 2.2 SDK, and run it on 1.5.

  • PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer vs Filters -- Spring Beans

    - by John
    Hi there. I've got a question regarding the difference between PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer (org.springframework.beans.factory.config.PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer) and normal filters defined in my pom.xml. I've been looking at examples, and it seems that even though filters are defined and marked to be active by default in the pom.xml they still make use of PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer in Spring's applicationContext.xml. This means that the pom.xml has a reference to a filter-LOCAL.properties while applicationContext.xml has a reference to application.properties and they both contain the same settings. Why is that? Is that how it is supposed to be done? I'm able to run the goal mvn jetty:run without the application.properties present, but if I add settings to the application.properties that differ from the filter-LOCAL.properties they don't seem to override. Here's an example of what I mean: pom.xml <profiles <profile <idLOCAL <activation <activeByDefaulttrue </activation <properties <envLOCAL </properties </profile </profiles applicationContext.xml <bean id="propertyConfigurer" class="org.springframework.beans.factory.config.PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer" <property name="locations" <list <valueclasspath:application.properties </list </property <property name="ignoreResourceNotFound" value="true"/ </bean <bean id="dataSource" class="org.apache.commons.dbcp.BasicDataSource" destroy-method="close" <property name="driverClassName" value="${jdbc.driver}"/ <property name="url" value="${jdbc.url}"/ <property name="username" value="${jdbc.username}"/ <property name="password" value="${jdbc.password}"/ </bean an example of the content of application.properties and filters-LOCAL.properties jdbc.driver=org.postgresql.Driver jdbc.url=jdbc:postgresql://localhost/shoutbox_dev jdbc.username=tester jdbc.password=tester Can I remove the propertyConfigurer from the applicationContext, create a PROD filter and disregard the application.properties file, or will that give me issues when deploying to the production server?

  • Add a child inside a newly created instance, inside of a loop in AS3

    - by HeroicNate
    I am trying to create a gallery where each thumb is housed inside of it's own movie clip that will have more data, but it keeps failing because it won't let me refer to the newly created instance of the movie clip. Below is what I am trying to do. var xml:XML; var xmlReq:URLRequest = new URLRequest("xml.xml"); var xmlLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); var imageLoader:Loader; var vidThumbn:ThumbNail; var next_y:Number = 0; for(var i:int = 0; i < xml.downloads.videos.video.length(); i++) { vidThumbn = new ThumbNail(); imageLoader = new Loader(); imageLoader.load(new URLRequest(xml.downloads.videos.video[i].ThumbnailImage)); vidThumbn.y = next_y; vidThumbn.x = 0; next_y += 117; imageLoader.name = xml.downloads.videos.video[i].Files[0].File.URL; videoBox.thumbList.thumbListHolder.addChild(vidThumbn); videoBox.thumbList.thumbListHolder.vidThumbn.addChild(imageLoader); } It dies every time on that last line. How do I refer to that vidThumbn instance so I can add the imageLoader? I don't know what I'm missing. It feels like it should work.

  • How do I test is storage-conf is being loaded in Cassandra 0.7.3?

    - by user657253
    I have installed Cassandra and gotten it working on two machines. I have followed the instructions to hook them up to each other by configuring the storage-conf.xml files. Both machines respond well to thrift and to command line cassandra. This is tutorial I used to setup the storage-conf.xml files. The tutorial says that if I run netstat, I should NOT see Cassandra bound to 127.0.0.1 on my seed node. I should see it bound to my internal IP, which I have configured in the storage-conf.xml file. I have rebooted the servers and relaunched cassandra. Still, I see the localhost address insead of the correct internal IP address. Is it that my .yaml file is overriding the storage-conf.xml file? If so, how do I delete the appropriate things in the .yaml? Or how do I tell Cassandra to look for my storage-conf.xml file? A few things I have tried: renaming the cassandra.yaml file. What happens is that cassandra will not load. If i rename the storage-conf.xml, cassandra does load. When I installed Cassandra, it did not come with a storage-conf.xml file. I had to grab it off the apache wiki.

  • what is wrong with this insert method in asp.net mvc?

    - by Pandiya Chendur
    My controller calls a repository class method on insert, [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Create([Bind(Exclude = "Id")]FormCollection collection) { try { MaterialsObj materialsObj = new MaterialsObj(); materialsObj.Mat_Name = collection["Mat_Name"]; materialsObj.Mes_Id = Convert.ToInt64(collection["MeasurementType"]); materialsObj.Mes_Name = collection["Mat_Type"]; materialsObj.CreatedDate = System.DateTime.Now; materialsObj.CreatedBy = Convert.ToInt64(1); materialsObj.IsDeleted = Convert.ToInt64(1); consRepository.createMaterials(materialsObj); return RedirectToAction("Index"); } catch { return View(); } } and my repository class has this, public MaterialsObj createMaterials(MaterialsObj materialsObj) { db.Materials.InsertOnSubmit(materialsObj); return materialsObj; } But when i compile this i get The best overloaded method match for 'System.Data.Linq.Table<CrMVC.Models.Material>.InsertOnSubmit(CrMVC.Models.Material)' has some invalid arguments... cannot convert from 'CrMVC.BusinessObjects.MaterialsObj' to 'CrMVC.Models.Material'.. am i missing something?

  • ContentNegotiatingViewResolver Issue

    - by Jay
    How to map a url of this kind "/myapp/sample" to map to the default MarshallingView instead of a JSTLView. @RequestMapping("/vets") public ModelMap vetsHandler() { Vets vets = new Vets(); vets.getVetList().addAll(this.clinic.getVets()); return new ModelMap(vets); } The above code works fine. When i tried to use http://.../vets.xml, I was able to download the xml. But, @RequestMapping("/myapp/vets") public ModelMap vetsHandler() { Vets vets = new Vets(); vets.getVetList().addAll(this.clinic.getVets()); return new ModelMap(vets); } doesn't resolve to the XML MarshalView, instead it resolves to JSTLView. Any thoughts? below is the spring v 3 configuration from the petclinic example, that i'm using. <bean id="vets" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.xml.MarshallingView"> <property name="contentType" value="application/vnd.springsource.samples.petclinic+xml"/> <property name="marshaller" ref="marshaller"/> </bean> <bean id="test" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.xml.MarshallingView"> <property name="contentType" value="application/vnd.springsource.samples.petclinic+xml"/> <property name="marshaller" ref="marshaller"/> </bean> <oxm:jaxb2-marshaller id="marshaller"> <oxm:class-to-be-bound name="org.springframework.samples.petclinic.Vets"/> <oxm:class-to-be-bound name="org.springframework.samples.petclinic.Test1"/> </oxm:jaxb2-marshaller>

  • build an API service in Django

    - by Peter
    Hi all, I want to build an API service using Django. A basic workflow goes like this: First, an http request goes to http://mycompany.com/create.py?id=001&callback=http://callback.com. It will create a folder on the server with name 001. Second, if the folder does not exist, it will be created. You get response immediately in XML format. It will look like: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <response> <status> <statusCode>0</statusCode> <message>Success</message> </status> <group id="001"/> </response> Finally, the server will do its job (i.e. creating the folder). After it is done, the server does a callback to the URL provided. Currently, I use return render_to_response('create.xml', {'statusCode': statusCode, 'statusMessage': statusMessage, 'groupId': groupId, }, mimetype = 'text/xml') to send the XML response back. I have an XML template which has statusCode, statusMessage, groupId placeholders. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <response> <status> <statusCode>{{ statusCode }}</statusCode> <message>{{ statusMessage }}</message> </status> {% if not statusCode %} <group id="{{ groupId }}"/> {% endif %} </response> But in this way I have to put step 3 before step 2, because otherwise step 3 will not be executed if it is after return statement. Can somebody give me some suggestions how to do this? Thanks.

  • Thread Safety of C# List<T> for readers

    - by ILIA BROUDNO
    I am planning to create the list once in a static constructor and then have multiple instances of that class read it (and enumerate through it) concurrently without doing any locking. In this article http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/6sh2ey19.aspx MS describes the issue of thread safety as follows: Public static (Shared in Visual Basic) members of this type are thread safe. Any instance members are not guaranteed to be thread safe. A List can support multiple readers concurrently, as long as the collection is not modified. Enumerating through a collection is intrinsically not a thread-safe procedure. In the rare case where an enumeration contends with one or more write accesses, the only way to ensure thread safety is to lock the collection during the entire enumeration. To allow the collection to be accessed by multiple threads for reading and writing, you must implement your own synchronization. The "Enumerating through a collection is intrinsically not a thread-safe procedure." Statement is what worries me. Does this mean that it is thread safe for readers only scenario, but as long as you do not use enumeration? Or is it safe for my scenario?

  • How does Backbone.js connect View to Model

    - by William Sham
    I am trying to learn backbone.js through the following example. Then I got stuck at the point ItemView = Backbone.View.extend why you can use this.model.get? I thought this is referring to the instance of ItemView that would be created. Then why would ItemView has a model property at all?!! (function($){ var Item = Backbone.Model.extend({ defaults: { part1: 'hello', part2: 'world' } }); var List = Backbone.Collection.extend({ model: Item }); var ItemView = Backbone.View.extend({ tagName: 'li', initialize: function(){ _.bindAll(this, 'render'); }, render: function(){ $(this.el).html('<span>'+this.model.get('part1')+' '+this.model.get('part2')+'</span>'); return this; } }); var ListView = Backbone.View.extend({ el: $('body'), events: { 'click button#add': 'addItem' }, initialize: function(){ _.bindAll(this, 'render', 'addItem', 'appendItem'); this.collection = new List(); this.collection.bind('add', this.appendItem); this.counter = 0; this.render(); }, render: function(){ $(this.el).append("<button id='add'>Add list item</button>"); $(this.el).append("<ul></ul>"); _(this.collection.models).each(function(item){ appendItem(item); }, this); }, addItem: function(){ this.counter++; var item = new Item(); item.set({ part2: item.get('part2') + this.counter }); this.collection.add(item); }, appendItem: function(item){ var itemView = new ItemView({ model: item }); $('ul', this.el).append(itemView.render().el); } }); var listView = new ListView(); })(jQuery);

  • How can I embed images within my application and use them in HTML control?

    - by Atara
    Is there any way I can embed the images within my exe (as resource?) and use it in generated HTML ? Here are the requirements: A. I want to show dynamic HTML content (e.g. using webBrowser control, VS 2008, VB .Net, winForm desktop application) B. I want to generate the HTML on-the-fly using XML and XSL (file1.xml or file2.xml transformed by my.xsl) C. The HTML may contain IMG tags (file1.gif and or file2.gif according to the xml+xsl transformation) and here comes the complicated one: D. All these files (file1.xml, file2.xml, my.xsl, file1.gif, file2.gif) should be embedded in one exe file. I guess the XML and XSL can be embedded resources, and I can read them as stream, but what ways do I have to reference the image within the HTML ? <IMG src="???" /> I do not want to use absolute path and external files. If the image files are resources, can I use relative path? Relative to what? (I can use BASE tag, and then what?) Can I use stream as in email messages? If so, where can I find the format I need to use? http://www.websiteoptimization.com/speed/tweak/inline-images/ are browser dependent. What is the browser used by webBrowser control? IE? what version? Does it matter if I use GIF or JPG or BMP (or any other image format) for the images? Does it matter if I use mshtml library and not the regular webBrowser control? (currently I use http://www.itwriting.com/htmleditor/index.php ) Does it matter if I upgrade to VS 2010 ? Thanks, Atara

  • What is a good sample solrconfig.xml for django-haystack?

    - by Danner
    I am building out a solr instance for django, but the example provided from solr is super verbose, with many things that are not relevant to haystack. A sample with spelling suggestions, morelikethis, and faceting, without the extra stuff that haystack doesn't use would go a long way to helping me understand what is needed and what isn't.

  • What is the difference between the add and offer methods in a queue?

    - by Finbarr
    Take the PriorityQueue for example http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/util/PriorityQueue.html#offer(E) According to the Collection API entry http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/util/Collection.html the add method will often seek to ensure that an element exists within the Collection rather than adding duplicates. So my question is, what is the difference between the add and offer methods? Is it that the Offer method will add duplicates regardless? (I doubt that it is because if a Collection should only have distinct elements this would circumvent that).

  • Existentials and Scrap your Boilerplate

    - by finnsson
    I'm writing a XML (de)serializer using Text.XML.Light and Scrap your Boilerplate (at http://github.com/finnsson/Text.XML.Generic) and so far I got working code for "normal" ADTs but I'm stuck at deserializing existentials. I got the existential data type data DataBox where DataBox :: (Show d, Eq d, Data d) => d -> DataBox and I'm trying to get this to compile instance Data DataBox where gfoldl k z (DataBox d) = z DataBox `k` d gunfold k z c = k (z DataBox) -- not OK toConstr (DataBox d) = toConstr d dataTypeOf (DataBox d) = dataTypeOf d but I can't figure out how to implement gunfold for DataBox. The error message is Text/XML/Generic.hs:274:23: Ambiguous type variable `b' in the constraints: `Eq b' arising from a use of `DataBox' at Text/XML/Generic.hs:274:23-29 `Show b' arising from a use of `DataBox' at Text/XML/Generic.hs:274:23-29 `Data b' arising from a use of `k' at Text/XML/Generic.hs:274:18-30 Probable fix: add a type signature that fixes these type variable(s) It's complaining about not being able to figure out the data type of b. I'm also trying to implement dataCast1 and dataCast2 but I think I can live without them (i.e. an incorrect implementation). I guess my questions are: Is it possible to combine existentials with Scrap your Boilerplate? If so: how do you implement gunfold for an existential data type?

  • How do you use FastInfoset with JAXWS?

    - by Chris Kessel
    I've got code that looks like it should be correct based on what I can find, but the spewed output doesn't indicate that it's using FastInfoset. My understanding is the Accept should indicate it can accept Fastinfoset and the response would actually use it, meaning it's not text/xml as the response type. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I've scoured with Google and I'm having a hard time finding much detail on how to use FastInfoset at all. JaxWsProxyFactoryBean factory = new JaxWsProxyFactoryBean(); factory.getInInterceptors().add(new LoggingInInterceptor()); factory.getOutInterceptors().add(new LoggingOutInterceptor()); factory.setServiceClass( C360Server.class); factory.setAddress("http://localhost:8501/cxfcontroller/cl_v5"); C360Server client = (C360Server)factory.create(); ((BindingProvider)client).getRequestContext().put( "com.sun.xml.ws.client.ContentNegotiation", "optimistic"); C360Request requestTrans = new C360Request(); ... code to fill in the request ... • What is the current standard for authenticating Http requests (REST, Xml over Http)?

    - by CodeToGlory
    The standard should solve the following Authentication challenges like- Replay attacks Man in the Middle Plaintext attacks Dictionary attacks Brute force attacks Spoofing by counterfeit servers I have already looked at Amazon Web Services and that is one possibility. More importantly there seems to be two most common approaches: Use apiKey which is encoded in a similar fashion like AWS but is a post parameter to a request Use Http AuthenticationHeader and use a similar signature like AWS. Signature is typically obtained by signing a date stamp with an encrypted shared secret. This signature is therefore passed either as an apiKey or in the Http AuthenticationHeader. I would like to know weigh both the options from the community, who may have used one or more and would also like to explore other options that I am not considering. I would also use HTTPS to secure my services.

  • How to add a SaveOrUpdateCopy event listener in NHibernate

    - by skrishna
    How can I add a event listener for SaveOrUpdateCopy in NHibernate ? I see that the ListenerType enumeration does not have a 'SaveOrUpdateCopy' type. I tried using the 'Merge' type, but that adds it to the MergeEventListeners collection. The SaveOrUpdateCopy invokes the events from the SaveOrUpdateCopyEventListeners collection. How can I add my event class to the SaveOrUpdateCopyEventListeners collection in NHibernate? Any help is appreciated.

  • Hibernate: update on parent-child relationship causes duplicate children

    - by TimmyJ
    I have a parent child relationship in which the parent has a collection of children (a set to be specific). The child collection is setup with cascade="all-delete-orphan". When I initially save the parent element everything works as expected. However, when I update the parent and save again, all the children are re-saved. This behavior leads me to believe that the parent is losing its reference to the collection of children, and therefore when persisting all the children are re-saved. It seems the only way to fix this is to not use the setter method of this child collection, but unfortunately this setter is called implicitly in my application (Spring MVC is used to bind a multi-select form element to this collection, and the setter is called by spring on the form submission). Overwriting this setter to not lose the reference (ie, do a colleciton.clear() and collection.addAll(newCollection) rather than collection = newCollection) is apparently a hibernate no-no, as is pointed out here: https://forum.hibernate.org/viewtopic.php?t=956859 Does anyone know how to circumvent this problem? I've posted some of my code below. The parent hibernate configuration: <hibernate-mapping package="org.fstrf.masterpk.domain"> <class name="ReportCriteriaBean" table="masterPkReportCriteria"> <id name="id" column="id"> <generator class="org.hibernate.id.IncrementGenerator" /> </id> <set name="treatmentArms" table="masterPkTreatmentArms" sort="org.fstrf.masterpk.domain.RxCodeComparator" lazy="false" cascade="all-delete-orphan" inverse="true"> <key column="runid"/> <one-to-many class="TreatmentArm"/> </set> </class> </hibernate-mapping> The parent object: public class ReportCriteriaBean{ private Integer id; private Set<TreatmentArm> treatmentArms; public Integer getId() { return id; } public void setId(Integer id) { this.id = id; } public Set<TreatmentArm> getTreatmentArms() { return treatmentArms; } public void setTreatmentArms(Set<TreatmentArm> treatmentArms) { this.treatmentArms = treatmentArms; if(this.treatmentArms != null){ for(TreatmentArm treatmentArm : this.treatmentArms){ treatmentArm.setReportCriteriaBean(this); } } } The child hibernate configuration: <hibernate-mapping package="org.fstrf.masterpk.domain"> <class name="TreatmentArm" table="masterPkTreatmentArms"> <id name="id" column="id"> <generator class="org.hibernate.id.IncrementGenerator" /> </id> <many-to-one name="reportCriteriaBean" class="ReportCriteriaBean" column="runId" not-null="true" /> <property name="rxCode" column="rxCode" not-null="true"/> </class> </hibernate-mapping> The child object: public class TreatmentArm { private Integer id; private ReportCriteriaBean reportCriteriaBean; private String rxCode; public Integer getId() { return id; } public void setId(Integer id) { this.id = id; } public ReportCriteriaBean getReportCriteriaBean() { return reportCriteriaBean; } public void setReportCriteriaBean(ReportCriteriaBean reportCriteriaBean) { this.reportCriteriaBean = reportCriteriaBean; } public String getRxCode() { return rxCode; } public void setRxCode(String rxCode) { this.rxCode = rxCode; } }
