  • Can't connect twice to linked table using ACE/JET driver

    - by Tmdean
I'm trying to connect to an MS Access database linked table in VBScript. It works fine connecting the first time on one connection but if I close that connection and open a new one in the same script it gives me an error. test.vbs(13, 1) Microsoft Office Access Database Engine: ODBC--connection to '{Oracle in OraClient10g_home1}DB_NAME' failed. This is some code that triggers the error. TABLE_1 is an ODBC linked table in the test.mdb file. Dim cnn, rs Set cnn = CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") cnn.Open "Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data source=test.mdb" Set rs = cnn.Execute("SELECT * FROM [TABLE_1]") rs.Close cnn.Close Set cnn = CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") cnn.Open "Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data source=test.mdb" Set rs = cnn.Execute("SELECT * FROM [TABLE_1]") '' crashes here rs.Close cnn.Close This error does not occur if I try to access an ordinary Access table. Right now I'm thinking it's a bug in the Oracle ODBC driver.

  • unable to get "ItemValue" of selected item using f:selectitems tag in ace:autocompleteEntry

    - by user1641976
i want to get the Value of selectItem (ItemValue which is an Integer and the Item Label is String) in my backing bean using autocompleteentry tag of icefaces 3.1.0 but i get error: here is the code: <tr> <td>Current City</td> <td> <ace:autoCompleteEntry value="#{service.cityId}" styleClass="select-field" rows="10" width="400" filterMatchMode="" > <f:selectItems value="#{service.cities}" ></f:selectItems> </ace:autoCompleteEntry> </td> </tr> Bean is : public class Service{ private Integer cityId; public Integer getCityId() { return cityId; } public void setCityId(Integer cityId) { this.cityId= cityId; } private <SelectItem> cities; public List<SelectItem> getCities() { return cities=Dao.getCityList(); } public void setCities(List<SelectItem> cities) { this.cities= cities; } } the cities has itemvalue as a number and itemLabel as String stored in it. I do get autocomplete fine and shows list of matches if i store value in some String property of backing bean but if storing in integer property of bean, gives this error as soon i write something in autocomplete. • "Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 provider is not registered" [RESOLVED]

    - by Azim
I have a Visual Studio 2008 solution with two projects (a Word-Template project and a VB.Net console application for testing). Both projects reference a database project which opens a connection to an MS-Access 2007 database file and have references to System.Data.OleDb. In the database project I have a function which retrieves a data table as follows private class AdminDatabase ' stores the connection string which is set in the New() method dim strAdminConnection as string public sub New() ... adminName = dlgopen.FileName conAdminDB = New OleDbConnection conAdminDB.ConnectionString = "Data Source='" + adminName + "';" + _ "Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0" ' store the connection string in strAdminConnection strAdminConnection = conAdminDB.ConnectionString.ToString() My.Settings.SetUserOverride("AdminConnectionString", strAdminConnection) ... But when I run it from the console application it throws the following exception ex = {"The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine."} Both projects have the same reference and the console application did work when I first wrote it (a while ago) but now it has stopped work. I must be missing something but I don't know what. Any ideas?

  • Edit inherited ACE's using icacls

    - by RedPheonix
I am trying to write a script that will allow me to replace the user associated with certain permissions with another username. For example say I have a user Administrators and a user Administrator. Using icacls.exe I want to be able to replace all of the permissions given to Administrators and give them to Administrator. I also want to remove all instances of Administrators. So far I have used the following commands: icacls File1.txt /save acls.bin icacls . /substitute Administrator Administrators /restore acls.bin But when I run icacls File1.txt I get: User-PC\Administrator:(F) NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM:(I)(F) BUILTIN\Administrators:(I)(F) User-PC\User:(I)(F) I have read that icacls has trouble dealing with inherited permissions but I was wondering if there was a method that allowed you to edit all of the permissions including the inherited ones.

  • vmware - ACE, Workstation - how to manage remoe clients??

    - by tom smith
Hi. Exploring Vmware products/services and have a few questions. As I understand VM, you can use VMWare Workstation to create a VM of a target machine/box/OS. Let's call this VM, "foo". If I have 100 client PCs in my dept, and I want to install the VM (foo) on each client, and also manage the remote VM instances of (foo). How can I accompish this? Let's assume that the client machines are running Windows7, and have the vmplayer app installed on the box. I'm looking to do the following kinds of actions regarding the remote client machines: -Update the foo VM/image with new updated copies -Make sure that every VM "foo" has the same user, but a unique passwd -Monitor the traffic/status of each client VM "foo" oin each client -Start/Stop each client VN "foo" from the master console -Etc... Can this be accomplished? How would I do it, what services/products would I need? I've tried toalking to a few of the pre-sales guys in VMWare, and got nowhere, other than telling me to email my questions!! Looking at google shed more insight, but I still have questions. So, if you have detailed VMWare understanding, pointers to consultants, or resellers who can help, all pointers are greatly appreciated. Thanks -tom

  • Re-naming chart legend in Access 2007

    - by rick
In an auto-generated chart based on a query (I dragged the chart object onto a blank form to start it), the chart itself is displaying and updating properly, datawise, but I want to change the Legend from reading "SumOfAvgOfield1" and "SumOfAvgOfield2" to regular words suitable for final presentations. But I can't find a way to change it!

  • Google Visualization legend format Jquery ui tabs

    - by Liam
I've got an issue when using the Google Visualization api line chart with Jquery ui tabs. I've got two graphs on two tabs. The first graph, which is visible by default displays fine: the second chart on the hidden tab seems to be messing up the key: I've tried changing the options but nothing I do seems to make any difference. Here are my options: options = { 'title': title, titleTextStyle: { color: color, fontSize: 20 }, 'width': 950, 'height': 400, hAxis: { minorGridlines: { count: x } }, chartArea: { width: 880 }, legend: { position: 'bottom', textStyle: { fontSize: 10 } } }; // Instantiate and draw our chart, passing in some options. var chart = new google.visualization.LineChart(document.getElementById(divId)); chart.draw(data, options); $('#tabs').tabs(); any thoughts on what is causing this and how to prevent it?? Edit If I remove the tabs() call it displays correctly. As per answer below from @Vipul tried setting the div to a fixed width, no difference.

  • ggplot2 add legend for each geom_point manually

    - by user1162769
I created a plot using 2 separate data sets so that I could create different errorbars. The first data set has error bars that go down only whereas the second data set has error bars that go up only. This prevents unnecessary overlap in the plot. I also used a compound shape for one of the groups. I want to create a legend based on these shapes (not a colour), but I can't seem to figure it out. Here is the plot code. p<-ggplot() p + geom_point(data=df.figure.1a, aes(x=Hour, y=Mean), shape=5, size=4) + geom_point(data=df.figure.1a, aes(x=Hour, y=Mean), shape=18, size=3) + geom_errorbar(data=df.figure.1a, aes(x=Hour, y=Mean, ymin = Mean - SD, ymax = Mean), size=0.7, width = 0.4) + geom_point(data=df.figure.1b, aes(x=Hour, y=Mean), shape=17, size=4) + geom_errorbar(data=df.figure.1b, aes(x=Hour, y=Mean, ymin = Mean, ymax = Mean + SD), size=0.7, width = 0.4)

  • OleDBDataAdapter UNPIVOT Query not working with Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 DataSource

I am reading in an excel file with an OleDBDataAdapter. I am using a select statement to UNPIVOT the data and insert into DataSet. However, the compiler is genereating this error: {"Syntax error in FROM clause."} But the SQL Statement is correct as I have used it in other DB's Here is the code: string strConn = "Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=" + FileName + ";Extended Properties=\"Excel 12.0 Xml;HDR=" + HDR + ";IMEX=1\""; OleDbConnection conn = new OleDbConnection(strConn); conn.Open(); string SQL = "select Packhouse, Rm, Quantity , Product " + " FROM " + " ( " + " SELECT Date,Packhouse, Rm,[FG XL], [FG L] " + " FROM [" + xlSheet + "] " + " ) Main " + " UNPIVOT " + " ( " + " Quantity FOR Product in ([FG XL], [FG L]) " + " ) Sub " + " WHERE (Date = '2010/03/08') and Quantity <> '0' and Packhouse = 'A' and Rm = '1' "; OleDbDataAdapter adapter = new OleDbDataAdapter(); adapter.SelectCommand = new OleDbCommand(SQL, conn); ds[sequencecounter] = new DataSet(); adapter.Fill(ds[sequencecounter], xlSheet); If I copy and paste the excel data into a DB, then the select query works, but the data presented to me is in excel spreadsheets. If anyone could provide help on this it will be much appreciated. Regards, J

  • Formatting Telerik Chart and Legend Labels in Silverlight

    - by Bryan
I am trying to format a column called 'Month' using the 3-character month abbreviation in my data grid which is bound to a bar chart. My grid and chart are based on this demo example: http://demos.telerik.com/silverlight/#Chart/Aggregates. Basically, the grid compiles data and summarizes by Year, Quarter, Month, and then some other categories as well. For the Month column, I tried two different methods (for sorting purposes, I have to use an integer or some date value for the month). First, I just made Month an integer field and then used a converter mapped in the xaml for the 'Month' field to display 'JAN', 'FEB', etc. This worked fine for the grid, but the chart would display 1, 2, etc. instead of the month abbreviation. I researched this and was not able to come up with a solution to map the converter to the chart. So, I tried making the Month field a datetime and then set the value to 1/1/1900, 2/1/1900, etc. and specified the format of the field to 'MMM' in the xaml for the grid. I then used the following statement to set the the format in the chart when the user grouped by month: SalesAnalysisChart.DefaultView.ChartArea.AxisX.DefaultLabelFormat = "MMM"; This partially worked in that when the months were displayed across the x-axis they were labeled properly, but not when they appeared in the legend (the user, of course, can group by any of the columns which may or may not include month). I've tried setting LegendItemLabelFormat, ItemLabelFormat, etc. but without success. I'm not sure of the element on which to set the property. I only need to change the default format for just the Month column - all other columns should display normally when grouped. I also came across a class called 'LegendItemFormatConverter' which looks promising but I can't find any examples as to how to implement it. I would actually prefer the converter method because the converter I wrote displays the month abbreviation in all caps, whereas the 'MMM' format displays in upper/lower case. Here is the converter code that I originally used for the grid: using System; using System.Net; using System.Windows; using System.Windows.Controls; using System.Windows.Documents; using System.Windows.Ink; using System.Windows.Input; using System.Windows.Media; using System.Windows.Media.Animation; using System.Windows.Shapes; using System.Windows.Data; namespace ApolloSL { public class MonthConverter : IValueConverter { public object Convert(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture) { if (value != null) { DateTime date = new DateTime(1900, (Int32)value, 1); return date.ToString("MMM").ToUpper(); } else { return ""; } } public object ConvertBack(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture) { return value.ToString(); } } } Please help... Thanks in advance for your assistance, Bryan

  • How to tell if Microsoft Works is 32 or 64 bit? Please Help!

    - by Bill Campbell
Hi, I am trying to convert one of our apps to run on Win7 64 bit from XP 32 bit. One of the things that it uses is Excel to import files. It's a little complicated since it was using Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 (Excel). I found Office 14 (2010) has a 64bit version I can download. I downloaded Office 2010 Beta but it didn't seem to install Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.14.0. I found that I could download 2010 Office System Driver Beta: Data Connectivity Components which has the ACE.OLEDB.14 in it but when I try to install it, the installed tells me "You cannot install the 64-bit version of Access Database engine for Microsoft Office 2010 because you currently have 32-bit Office products installed". How do I determine what 32bit office products this is reffering to? My Dell came with Microsoft Works installed. I don't know if this is 32 or 64 bit. Is there anyway to tell? I don't want to uninstall this if it's not the problem and I'm not sure what else might be the problem. Any help would be appreciated! thanks, Bill

  • What's a good icon to represent a legend or a key for a diagram?

    - by Bears will eat you
I'm implementing a small web app widget that shows a legend/key for a diagram (or chart/map/graph/whatever), but only during mouseover of the widget. It's basically just going to be a div with a background image. What would be a good icon that communicates "I show the legend" or "I am the legend" to the unfamiliar users? I'm looking for something in the 10x10 to 20x20 pixel range. Assuming that a legend is the same thing as a key (is it?) then I could use a small icon of a key (like you'd unlock a door with) but that seems cheesy or unclear at worst. I'm not sure that's really the clearest way to do it. Is there an icon that should instantly remind users of a legend?

  • Adding LegendItems in Flex places horizontally not vertically (as it's supposed to)

    - by David
I'm dynamically inserting LegendItems into a Legend using the following code: signalLegend.removeAllChildren(); signalLegend.direction = "vertical"; for (var i:int = 0; i < numItems - 1; i++) { signalLegend.addChild(new LegendItem()); legendItem = signalLegend.getChildAt(i) as LegendItem; legendItem.label = "Title here"; legendItem.setStyle("fill", theColour); } While the Legend direction is set as vertical, all the items are appearing horizontally. Very annoying.

  • JavaFX 2.0 - How to change legend color of a LineChart dynamically?

    - by marie
I am trying to style my JavaFX linechart but I have some trouble with the legend. I know how to change the legend color of a line chart in the css file: .default-color0.chart-series-line { -fx-stroke: #FF0000, white; } .default-color1.chart-series-line { -fx-stroke: #00FF00, white; } .default-color2.chart-series-line { -fx-stroke: #0000FF, white; } .default-color0.chart-line-symbol { -fx-background-color: #FF0000, white; } .default-color1.chart-line-symbol { -fx-background-color: #00FF00, white; } .default-color2.chart-line-symbol { -fx-background-color: #0000FF, white; } But this is not enough for my purposes. I have three or more colored toggle buttons and a series of data for every button. The data should be displayed in the same color the button has after I have selected the button. This should be possible with a multiselection of the buttons, so that more than one series of data can be displayed simultaneously. For the chart lines I have managed it by changing the style after I clicked the button: .. dataList.add(series); .. series.getNode().setStyle("-fx-stroke: rgba(" + rgba + ")"); If I deselect the button I remove the data from the list. dataList.remove(series); That is working fine for the strokes, but how can I do the same for the legend? You can see an example below. First I clicked the red button, thus the stroke and the legend is red (default-color0). After that I clicked the blue button. Here you can see the problem. The stroke is blue but the legend is green, because default color1 is used and I do not know how to change the legend color.

  • CodeMirror Dynamic Syntax Validation

    - by rawr
Been trying to decide between using CodeMirror or Ace editor. I've been leaning towards CodeMirror, however there's one feature of Ace that I really like and that is how it does syntax validation. So as I'm typing there can appear a warning or error icon in the left gutter area beside the line number, and when I hover over it it gives me a little description. Is there any way to get this functionality in CodeMirror? Specifically, I'm using the css mode for CodeMirror. It'd also be nice to be able to add in my own custom validation. Thanks.
