  • JEditorPane scrolling to the current caret position

    I have a JEditorPane which I use to display an HTML document. the document has hyperlinks embedded in it. When a user clicks on a bookmark a position the caret to the associated place in the JeditorPane. The JeditorPane is then suppose to scroll to this position. This works mostly. But, I noticed that if the document has a lot of "break tags" (BR) tags embedded in it, the scrolling does not position the JEditorPane to right place. It's like the tags throw the callebration off. Any suggestions on what to do about this?

  • jquery clear animation queue

    I have the code below, which works fine it can be viewed here for an example. Once the user hovers over one menu, you can then not hover over it again unless the page is refreshed.   • jquery 'this' confusion

    Hi I have the code below, once the first (only) item in the menu is hovered over, the subtext should appear. I have used 'this' as I thought it should find the class with the "li" and then slideDown.     Hi, I have a link which once hovered over a box below slides down, once hover is removed it slides back up. I have it working almost to how I want, although in IE8 (Havent tested in other IE yet) the text in the box which slides down is not centerd. In firefox, when it slides down the corners are not smooth, but they are in IE.     I'm running the following statement to see what queries are executing in sql server: select * from sys.dm_exec_requests r cross apply sys.dm_exec_sql_text(r.sql_handle) where r.database_id = DB_ID('<dbname>') The sql text that comes back is parameterized: (@Parm0 int) select * from foo where foo_id = @Parm0 Is there any way to get the values for the parameters that the statement is using? Say by joining to another table perhaps?

  • What is the best way to extend restful_authentication/AuthLogic to support lazy logins by an anonymo

    I'm building an iPhone application that talks to a Ruby on Rails backend. The Ruby on Rails application will also service web users. The restful_authentication plugin is an excellent way to provide quick and customizable user authentication. However, I would like users of the iPhone application to have an account created automatically by the phone's unique identifier ([[UIDevice device] uniqueIdentifier]) stored in a new column. Later, when users are ready to create a username/password, the account will be updated to contain the username and password, leaving the iPhone unique identifier intact. Users should not be able to access the website until they've setup their username/password. They can however, use the iPhone application, since the application can authenticate itself using it's identifier. What is the best way to modify restful_authentication to do this? Create a plugin? Or modify the generated code? What about alternative frameworks, such as AuthLogic. What is the best way to allow iPhones to get a generated auth token locked to their UUID's, but then let the user create a username/password later?

I added to fields position and company and deleted the field 'description.'   • jquery refresh php loop?

    Hi, I have a page in which users can make "posts" its similar to facebook, I am trying to figure out how I can get it to run the php loop say every 10mins, in order for the person to see new posts. Everytime a post is made it is added into the db and then the page is refreshed, I want to do it more "facebook like".     I am using the p tag to align text left and right on the same line using: .left { float: left; text-indent: 5px; margin-top: 0px; } .right { float: right; text-indent: 5px; margin-top: 0px; } <div id="content"> <p class="left">Left Text </p> <p class="right">Right Text </p> </div> The left text will indent by 5 pixels, the right text will not.   • When to draw/layout child controls in UserControl

    I have a list-type UserControl (like a ListBox). The items inside the control are another complex UserControl containing a few other controls (ComboBox, TextBox, etc). I'm wondering what the preferred or best method would be to override to draw/layout the child controls. I basically want to trigger this method any time the list changes. I originally had a RedrawItems method that I just called whenever I needed to redraw which added or removed Controls from the Controls collection. But it was getting triggered too early in the lifecycle of the code from some of the designer code. Now I've switched to overriding OnLayout and doing my stuff there. I call PerformLayout when I want to trigger a redraw, such as when the DataSource property changes or when it fires a changed event. Is OnLayout the best place for this?   • Keeping floated divs inline

    I'm having trouble getting my layout working correctly, I have a main div and a sidebar div these are both float: left if the screen size is resized or if its viewed on screen smaller that what I have designed on (1920x1080) then the sidebar div drops below the main content.   • Increase and decrease row value by 1 in MySQL

    Hi I have a MySQL database table "points" the user can click a button and a point should be removed from their account, the button they pressed has an ID of another user, therefore their account must increase by one.   • Two collections and a for loop. (Urgent help needed) Checking an object variable against an inputted

    Hi there, I'm relatively new to java, I'm certain the error is trivial. But can't for the life of me spot it. I have an end of term exam on monday and currently trying to get to grips with past papers! Anyway heregoes, in another method (ALGO_1) I search over elements of and check the value H_NAME equals a value entered in the main. When I attempt to run the code I get a null pointer exception, also upon trying to print (with System.out.println etc) the H_NAME value after each for loop in the snippet I also get a null statement returned to me. I am fairly certain that the collection is simply not storing the data gathered up by the Scanner. But then again when I check the collection size with size() it is about the right size. Either way I'm pretty lost and would appreciate the help. Main questions I guess to ask are: from the readBackground method is the data.add in the wrong place? is the snippet simply structured wrongly? oh and another point when I use System.out.println to check the Background object values name, starttime, increment etc they print out fine.   • Facebook PHP SDK - can't pass parameters to getLoginUrl()

    I'm using the Facebook PHP SDK for simple login with extended permissions. I'm using the example code from the SDK docs, but I found that I need to manually clear out the FB session data otherwise if($user) comes back as true even though the user is logged out. I have the app going to logout.php upon logout; this page clears out the session vars and redirects to the app home page. Once I clear out the FB session data, log in/log out works fine. However, it stops working if I pass $params to the getLoginUrl function.   • Questions regarding detouring by modifying the virtual table

    I've been practicing detours using the same approach as Microsoft Detours (replace the first five bytes with a jmp and an address). More recently I've been reading about detouring by modifying the virtual table. I would appreciate if someone could shed some light on the subject by mentioning a few pros and cons with this method compared to the one previously mentioned! I'd also like to ask about patched vtables and objects on the stack. This is because the compiler will try to decide any virtual calls during compile time if possible (correct me if I'm wrong). Does that mean it does not matter if you patch the virtual table or not, as long as you use objects on the stack (not heap allocated)?

I'm not exactly clear what's going on here: surely YY is constant? I had always assumed that the "static const" approach was preferable to "#define". Is there any way of using "static const" in this situation?

  • "Too much recursion" error when loading the same page with a hash

    Hi, I have a site w/ an image gallery ("Portfolio") page. There is drop-down navigation that allows a user to view a specific image in the portfolio from any page on the site. The links in the navigation use a hash, and that hash is read and converted into a string of an image filename. The image src attribute on the /portfolio/ page is then swapped out with the new image filename. This works fine if I'm clicking the dropdown link from a page OTHER THAN the /portfolio/ page itself. However if I take the same action from the /portfolio/ page, I get a "too much recursion" error in Firefox. I initially thought this was the function that was causing the recursion error, but when I remove the setTimeout I still have this problem. Does this have to do with a closure I'm not aware of? I'm pretty green on closures.   • PHP while loop, table row

    Hi, I'm trying to loop through a database and output data into a div, if there are 3 divs horizontally accross it will the start a new tr until it reaches another 3 etc. It is currently outputted like : [] [] [] [] [] [] Currently I have it working when it reaches 3 it starts a new row, but I don't know how I can only echo a new tr once? As it creates a new table row each time. echo '<table><tr>'; while ($result) { $i ++; if ($i&3) { echo '<td> <div>Row Data</div> </td>'; } else { echo '<tr> <td> <div>Row Data</div> </td></tr>'; } } echo '</tr></table>'; The $result variable is the recordset from my sql query, everything works fine I just don't know how to only create a new table row once?   • Shared secret length limit on OSX VPN client

    I'm trying to setup the built-in VPN client with OS X. The settings I'm using (IPsec GW, shared secret, etc...) work flawlessly using other clients (IPsecuritas, vpnc, etc...) but isn't working with the built-in client. The error I get is: Wrong shared secret (not the exact message, since OS X is localized) The shared secret is 128 chars long so I'm wondering if it's hitting a length limit. I would like to know if that's true, and if so, how I could overcome it?

    Trying to ssh into a computer I control, I'm getting the familiar message: @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @ WARNING: REMOTE HOST IDENTIFICATION HAS CHANGED! @ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ IT IS POSSIBLE THAT SOMEONE IS DOING SOMETHING NASTY! Someone could be eavesdropping on you right now (man-in-the-middle attack)! It is also possible that a host key has just been changed. The fingerprint for the RSA key sent by the remote host is [...]. Please contact your system administrator. Add correct host key in /home/sward/.ssh/known_hosts to get rid of this message. Offending RSA key in /home/sward/.ssh/known_hosts:86 RSA host key for [...] has changed and you have requested strict checking. Host key verification failed. I did indeed change the key. And I read a few dozen postings saying that the way to resolve this problem is by deleting the old key from the known_hosts file. But what I would like is to have ssh accept both the old key and the new key. The language in the error message ("Add correct host key") suggests that there should be some way to add the correct host key without removing the old one. I have not been able to figure out how to add the new host key without removing the old one. Is this possible, or is the error message just extremely misleading?

  • INFORMIX - listener thread err 25582

    I´ve been digging different forums in the last 7 days looking for a possible solution.... Our database is based on informix running in a Linux server (LINUX SUSE 11). Suddenly, last saturday informix began to show an error message: listener-thread err=-25582 oserr=0, network connection is broken End users started to call reporting about slow network performance to this server, moments where the database application lost connection with server...so we proceeded doing a ping to the db server, getting good responses (1ms) without losing packets. I tried typing telnet (ipserver) 1526 which is informix's port for the application, it works. We had to disconnect the server and enable a backup db server which is located on another branch. It has been working in a regular way because the backup server hasn´t good specs (it is an old dell server model). So, I scanned the main server looking for viruses using Trend Micro Server Protect, it didn´t find anything (0 viruses and spywares). I revised the switches and routers, but I haven´t find anything strange... What else could be ? Thanks in advanced for your time and help with this issue.....I would really appreciate any advice...
