• How to increase the number of vmware.log files?

  Hi all, Is there any way to increase the number of vmware.log files for a given VM (Vmware Server 1.0.4, host: SLES 10)? Problem is, that one of our VMs crashes every now and then, and I can only see the four log files vmware.log, vmware-0.log, vmware-1.log and vmware-2.log each of which contains records starting after the crash when trying to boot. This seems to be inline with what MSDN says about passing an array to a Range's Value. I also found this page showing something similar in C#. Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong? • PHP array value becomes blank. What is going on?

  I have written a web page that works fine expect for some weird behavior. The code below gets all expected values and populates them correctly except for $v-data["quick_phone_id"] and $v-data["quick_email_id"] which are integers. Those values come out blank in the string I am creating. The value for $v-data["id"] is another integer and works as expected. My only clue is that when I uncomment the commented out line, the code works properly. So I'm guessing this has to do with referencing getting broken for the array. Any ideas? • jQuery indexOf select box manipulation

  Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to remove options from a select box when that option has been selected in an adjacent select box. Basically the user has the option to add multiple records here via select boxes, but I want to remove the list of options available to them so that, for example, they can't enter the same value in two select boxes. When an Add More button is clicked, I fade in the next select box container. A number of select boxes have been generated by PHP and I use JS to hide them. Each select box has a unique number appended to the ID, so i want to access those select boxes which contain the string "other_pet_types", then I want to iterate through the currently visible ones and build an array of the values which have been selected, which I will then remove from the list of options in the newly displayed select box. This is what I have so far, but it's definitely not right - I can't get the initial test on the ID to work. • Risky Business with LINQ to SQL and OR Designer?

  I have two tables with a one to many relationship in SQL 2008. The first table (BBD) PK | BBDataID | int       | Floor_Qty | tinyint       | Construct_Year | char(4)       | etc, etc describes the data common to all buildings and the second (BBDCerts) PK | BBDCertsID | int       | BBDataID | int       | Certification_Type | varchar(20)       | etc, etc is a collection of certifications for a particular building. Thus, the primary key in BBD (BBDataID) is mapped to the corresponding field in BBDCerts via an FK relationship, but BBDCertsID is the second table's primary key and BBDataID is not because it will not be unique. My problem is that I want to be able to use the OR generated data context to get at the list of certs when I access a particular record in the BBD table. For instance: Dim vals = (From q in db.BBD Where q.BBDataID = x Select q.Floor_Qty, q.Construct_Year, q.BBDCerts).SingleOrDefault and later be able to access a particular certification like this: vals.BBDCerts.Certification_Type.First Now, the automatic associations created when the SQL tables are dropped on the design surface don't generate the EntityRef associations that are needed to access the other table using the dot notation. So, I have to use the OR designer to make the BBDCerts BBDataID a primary key (this doesn't affect the actual database), and then manually change the association properties to the appropriate OneToMany settings. There might be a better way to approach this solution but my question is, is the way I've done it safe? I've done a barrage of tests and the correct cert is referenced or updated every time. Frankly, the whole thing makes me nervous.

• Bound DataGridView not updating data source

  I'm trying to bind a table of structures to a DataGridView. Loading and viewing the table is working fine but I can't edit a value and get it stored back into the table. Here's what I'm doing. I have a "primitive" data type, Real defined by public struct MyReal:IMyPrimative { public Double m_Real; //... public MyReal(String val) { m_Real = default(Double); Init(val); } //... } It gets used in a structure: public struct MyReal_Record : IMyRecord { public MyReal Freq { get; set;} MyReal_Record(String[] vals) { Init(vals); } } And the structure is used to define a table using a generic Binding List public class MyTable<S> : BindingList<S> where S: struct, IMyRecord { public Type typeofS; public MyTable() { typeofS = typeof(S); // ... } This table is used as a binding source for a grid, dynamically. private void miLoadFile_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { MyModel.Table<Real_Record> RTable = new MyModel.Table<Real_Record>(); //... Table initialized here //set up grid with virtual mode dataGridView1.DataSource = RTable; } All of this works fine and I can create RTable, initialize it and display it in a grid. The grid allows editing and has events set for CellParsing and CellFormatting which look like: private void dataGridView1_CellFormatting(object sender, DataGridViewCellFormattingEventArgs e) { if (e.DesiredType != typeof(String)) return; e.Value = e.Value.ToString(); } private void dataGridView1_CellParsing(object sender, DataGridViewCellParsingEventArgs e) { if (e.DesiredType != typeof(MyReal)) return; e.Value = new MyReal(e.Value.ToString()); e.ParsingApplied = true; this.dataGridView1.UpdateCellValue(e.ColumnIndex, e.RowIndex); } When I edit a value in a cell, I can change the text. On leaving the cell, CellParsing fires and the event handler is called. Everything seems to be correct going into the CellParsing handler. e.DesiredType is MyReal. e.Value is a string with the new value. After the new MyReal is created from the string, e.Value is set correctly. RowIndex and ColumnIndex are correct. ReadOnly is set false. However, when I leave the cell, the system restores the original value to the cell. I thought the UpdateCellValue would replace the value in the dataSource but I seem to be missing something. • Dynamically Insert Variables into DB Table using PreparedStatement

  I was working with PreparedStatement today and noticed that it used setString() setTimestamp() etc. to insert variables into the DB. I basically have 20 tables each with at least 15 columns and it would not be feasible for me to manuallt write down all the setters. Considering that I have an ArrayList "Vals" which contains all the variables to be inputted in String format (obtained by getString() using PreparedStatement itself), is there any way I can do an insert without using expressly using the Setters? That would save me a lot of time.

  I have problem querying table with variable in IN function. SELECT s.date, (SELECT GROUP_CONCAT(value) FROM value WHERE id_value IN(s.ref_values) ) AS vals FROM stats s ORDER BY s.date DESC LIMIT 1 Where s.ref_values is '12,22,54,15'. I get only one return for first number (12). When I insert that value directly in IN(12,22,54,15) it finds all 4. So, there must be problem with using variable in IN. What am I doing wrong?

  When my desktop computer was running Ubuntu 12.04, my PS3 controllers would work with USB. I didn't need to do any special setup. I could just plug it in before I start SuperTuxKart and it would recognize it. I can also do this on my laptop (still running 12.04). Since I gave my desktop a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04, the controller would never work. I have played with some installed software that I found when looking for information.   I'm currently using the Horde projects IMP, DIMP, MIMP, Ingo, Kronolith, Mnemo, Nag, Turba and Sork. I ignored the (rather outdated) Debian packages and installed the upstream versions. A few years later, my Horde installation is a bit outdated and I consider updating each project and each version individually a pain. The Debian stable packages are as outdated as ever, but squeeze will deliver reasonably current versions, so I'm considering switching to the Debian packages as soon as squeeze is released. What would you recommend for software packages like Horde? Using the upstream versions and manually updating or using the distribution's packages?

• problem with revalidating a jframe.

  I have this code which should take the radio button input do a little math and display a popup. which it does fine. but then it is supposed to re validate and ask the next question. when i get to the second question, the answer always comes out as the isSelected(true) value no matter which radio button you click on.   I want to do a vlookup (or similar) against a column which is a list of values. This works fine for looking up a value from a single row, but I want to be able to look up multiple rows, sum the results, and divide by the number of rows referenced.   One handy feature of Scala is lazy val, where the evaluation of a val is delayed until it's necessary (at first access). Ofcourse a lazy val must have some overhead - somewhere Scala must keep track of whether the value has already been evaluated and the evaluation must be synchronized, because multiple threads might try to access the value for the first time at the same time. What exactly is the cost of a lazy val - is there a hidden boolean flag associated with a lazy val to keep track if it has been evaluated or not, what exactly is synchronized and are there any more costs? And a follow-up question: Suppose I do this: class Something { lazy val (x, y) = { ... } } Is this the same as having two separate lazy vals x and y or do I get the overhead only once, for the pair (x, y)?
