  • PHPMyAdmin running very slow over internet but fine locally

    I connect to PHPMyAdmin remotely on a Centos server using my local PC via Firefox. Usually it's fine but today it's really slow (2 minutes to load a page), sometimes timing out. Other connections to the server are fine. The SSH command line is as fast as ever as is the GNOME dekstop over SSH. In fact on the GNOME desktop I can run PHPMyAdmin locally from its browser and it's as quick as ever (which is a solution to the problem of course). I've checked the various log files and seen nothing unusual, I've logged into the MySQL command line and the database is running fine without any slowing what so ever. So it just seems to be slow when I access PHPMyAdmin on the server from the browser on my remote PC (I've tried IE and Firefox, both are slow). Has anyone experienced this or have any ideas what the issue could be. Connecting via CLI through tunnel works OK - problem is in phpMyAdmin for sure. Cheers

  • phpMyAdmin not found on Windows

    I installed wamp server 2.2 on Windows 7 x64. I clicked on its system tray icon and put the server online. Then i select phpmyadmin and I get a 404 page. Localhost successfully gives me the Apache 2 test page. Theres no way Im able to fix this. The php error log and the Apache error logs have no errors. Note: Ive tried all combinations of the url such as localhost/phpmyadmin/ and localhost/phpmyadmin and localhost/phpmyadmin/?

I want to delete that file. How would I do this? I need to free the space of the partition. I need some steps on how to do it and also steps on how to delete the /var/log/btmp. I have been googling around but I haven't found anything.

    I installed LAMP on Ubuntu 12.0.4 LTE. Then I installed phpmyadmin. Everything was good. I used phpadmin to do lots of DB administration.... Then I installed Zend CE server. Now, phpmyadmin throws a blank page. No login screen. So, I reinstalled my VPS in the same sequence again. No luck. Same behavior. This time, I installed Apache, Mysql, PHP and Zend server in that order. Then I installed phpmyadmin....Unfortunately, still blank page on phpmyadmin. Any help?...Thanks in advance.

  • problem with phpMyAdmin advanced features

    Hi all, I am having trouble putting the final touches on my MySQL/Apache/phpMyAdmin install on a Windows XP system. I am trying to get rid of all the error message in phpMyAdmin and I have gotten rid of all of them except the ones related to "advanced features." The exact error message I have is : The additional features for working with linked tables have been deactivated. To find out why click here. I have read up on the cause of the errors but I must be missing something because I still cannot get the warning to go away. Here is what I have done: Created a linked-tables infrastructure (default name "phpmyadmin") per the phpMyAdmin instructions and enabled "pmadb" in my "config.inc.php" file. Specified (enabled) the table names in my "config.inc.php" file (there are 9 tables total). Created a "controluser" and granted only Select privilages per phpMyAdmin instructions Adjusted "controluser" pma and "controlpass" pmapass in "config.inc.php" file From what I can see these are all the instruction phpMyAdmin gives on this subject, and I am unable to locate any tutorials on the specifics of "advanced features" in phpMyAdmin. Any help would be appreciated, and be gentle, this is my first go with MySQL/phpMyAdmin

  • Running phpmyadmin xampp Ubuntu 12.10

    I know it is a common problem and there are many solutions on the web but I'm trying everything and anything is working, I can't have phpmyadmin running on my machine. I installed XAMPP through: sudo tar xvfz ./Downloads/xampp-linux-1.8.1.tar.gz -C /opt then I did the chmod trick supposed to make an end to access issues and I change the default location to my php projects from /var/www to Dropbox/php. Then I started XAMPP in the usual way: sudo /opt/lampp/lampp start When I tried to run one of my php projects the output on the web is fine but if for example I try to write localhost on my browser I get: It works and not the usual XAMPP interface and most of all when I try to access localhost/phpmyadmin I get the login page, insert username (root) and password and I get: You don't have permission to access /phpmyadmin/index.php on this server. Apache/2.2.22 (Ubuntu) Server at localhost Port 80 I tried the Required all granted trick and some others but nothing is working. I even tried to uninstall phpmyadmin and reinstall it but this is not working too. I don't know hot to proceed. Thanks for your help.

For security reasons I didnt call my subdomain "phpmyadmin" i used a different name.     I was using phpmyadmin(in Wamp) without a password for root. I thought to set a password for root and goto Privileges page and set a password for root. Now whenever I go to localhost/phpmyadmin page it gives me the following error. MySQL said: Documentation #1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO) phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server. I don't know that what is the problem. It is not showing me a login type page to enter a username and password. Any idea that what is the problem ? Thanks

  • phpmyadmin on lighttpd gives me a 403 forbidden need help

    Whats the problem: When I goto //localhost/phpmyadmin I get what I would get if I did //localhost/, I'm using both http: and https:. What did I do, that changed it: I simply reinstalled lighttpd. What I have tried: Disabling and re-enabling 50-phpmyadmin.conf, Now I get a "403 - Forbidden" instead. When I goto /phpmyadmin/setup it asks me for a login, Not a clue what it is. Now I'm waiting for someone to help. :) Thanks to anyone with any answers. Latest Status: Not working, giving me a "403 - Forbidden".

    I just updated from PHP 5.1 to 5.2 and both drupal and phpMyAdmin stopped being able to save information. I've checked the mysql user permissions - they look ok. I wrote some simple php to insert a row into a table, and it works, but if I try to do the same thing in phpMyAdmin, it just says "no change". phpMyAdmin will delete rows, select rows, but not insert or update them. Drupal does the same thing - it will select info from the tables ok, but not insert or update (or delete). Any ideas? I'm really starting to get desperate! Cheers, Marek

I've managed to set up a database in the control panel, have uploaded all to root/phpmyadmin and changed the config.ini.php file to point at 1and1's database server (because that's the way they do it). I can go to the web interface and get to the main page, but all it shows is the database name and I can't find how to create any tables. I know it's a long shot but I'm almost out of ideas. Also, 1and1 have their own phpmyadmin panel, which is pretty annoying to use, and a 1and1 webdatabase which I have barely looked at. Help and suggestions much appriciated.

    On ubuntu 10.04 the phpmyadmin config is a little bit scattered. I want to set the loginexpiration time to zero, should never expire, this is a secured setup behind a firewall. I think it is 3600 by default but cannot find the setting. Where is it? Edit: I actually changed it in /etc/phpmyadmin/conf.inc.php which seems the recommended place for ubuntu. The other files mentioned below might be overwritten on updates.

  • PhpMyAdmin import/export - strange character encoding issues.

    Hello, I'm migrating a site to a new host, and there are a couple of databases on there. There's no SSH access so I'm stuck with phpmyadmin. The issue is that certain characters (namely just whitespace) seems to being corrupt on the new site (same html, and apache doesn't seem to be messing with any encodings - you can see the strange characters have changed when I use less on my linux machine after downloading a table dump from both servers.) The issue isn't as bad if I import into the new database as utf-8 - whitespace characters only have one funny A type symbol instead of two. I've been trying various combinations of character encoding etc to no avail.   • Login error in phpMyAdmin, problem setting auth_type in config.inc.php

    I'm having a problem accessing phpMyAdmin. A few weeks ago I did succeed configuring it for auth_type = 'cookie', but I still receive an error stating that I should have to set blowfish_secret. That was strange because it was set. So I changed auth_type from cookie to http, but it didn't work. After I enter username and password in the login page I get the error. I've tried searching into the log files, but I'm a newbie and I'm not sure I've searched the right ones. I'm using Wamp server 2.0 that has Apache Version : 2.2.11 PHP Version : 5.3.0 MySQL Version : 5.1.36 phpmyadmin : 3.2.0.1

  • set phpmyadmin in ubuntu to listen only on localhost port?

    i can access phpmyadmin by typing in the url: h t t p : / / 234.231.123.123/phpmyadmin. i wonder where to configure phpmyadmin to only accept h t t p : / / localhost/phpmyadmin so i could use ssh tunneling to connect to it. cause i dont want other to get to the phpmyadmin page so they could brute force the password.
