• HUD keeps popping up when watching movie in movie player

  When I watch a movie in Movie Player, the HUD pops up every 8 minutes or so. I am not touching the keyboard or the mouse at all. Alt makes the bar go away, and then 7-8 minutes later, it pops up again. This happens when I'm watching fullscreen or not fullscreen. Can you help me fix this? I've been using VLC instead (because it does not have this problem), but I don't like it as much as Movie Player.

• ubuntu 12.04 html5 video jumps out of fullscreen when I change volume [closed]

  Often I can't play html5 videos at all until after a relogin. I have a lenovo t500 with an ati hd3650. My sense is that it's the pop up notice that kills fullscreen. The "popup" notice refers to the notice that always pops up in the upper right hand corner when ubuntu announces something. In this case it pops up when I change the volume and video immediately jumps out of fullscreen. The question is: can I do something about the lack of fullscreen in youtube html5 or is it something I just have to accept?

  I recently switched to Ubuntu 11.10 from Windows. The panel has been acting really weird lately. What happens is when I click on sound icon to change volume, the menu for Bluetooth connectivity pops up. When I try to hover over the popped up menu, the latter disappears the moment I move my mouse. It is just not one icon that has been troubling me. When I click on network icon in the panel, it pops-up the menu for Chat and then the popped-up Chat menu just disappears as soon as there is a movement of the mouse. I hope I was able to explain my situation. I am sure you must be aware of this issue. Please advise. Thanks.

• how can I make the launcher disappear after notication

  I have a generally stock configured Unity 2d, with the launcher in auto-hide mode. When I get a notification, the launcher pops out and the relevant icon wiggles. That is all functioning well. My problem is that the launcher pops out for maybe 5 seconds before hiding. Often times I'm typing or using the mouse on the portion of the display that is now covered by the launcher. After I've mentally received the notification is there some way to tell the launcher "I've seen this, you can go away now". Note, I'm not wanting to modify or shorten the default display time. I'd be very happy to hit 'alt-h' or some other key combination to make it go away.

  I’m running Ubuntu 14.04 Server with a LAMP stack, Samba, and FTP, no GUI, just SSHing into the server and working on it. I’m having trouble searching down a solution to this issue, but as far as I can Google for it, it might have something to do with Samba. no talloc stackframe at ../source3/param/loadparm.c:4864, leaking memory?? The warning doesn't pop up at any kind of regular intervals or in response to the same or repeated actions. It pops up between things I’m doing - changing directories, editing files, copying stuff, and it often pops up when I first log in. Has anyone got experience fixing this issue?

• IIS Windows Authentication not working in Internet Explorer via host name; works via IP

  I'm trying to get a new Windows Server 2003 box working to host an ASP.NET application that uses Windows Authentication. Here's some info: IIS Anonymous Access is diabled IIS Integrated Windows Authentication is enabled I've tried it with and without Digest Authentication and it is the same result Both my machine and the server are in same active directory domain on the same intranet I'm using IE 6 My symptoms: In Firefox, via either IP or host name, a login box pops up, and if I enter my NT credentials, it works. In IE, via the server IP address, it works perfectly with no login box. In IE, via the server host name, it pops up a login box but even if I put in the correct credentials, it just pops up the box again. This is the problem. Why won't windows auth work in IE via host name but it will via IP address? Edit: Here's something else interesting. If I go into my Internet Explorer advanced settings and disable Windows Authentication, it seems to work just fine. And by work I mean that my test .NET app sees my NT ID as the current user.

  From time to time, I'll be on my Macbook using a program that accesses the network – whether Firefox, or Sony's Reader Library – really, it seems like it could happen with any program that accesses the network – and for no reason that I can discern so far (that is, it happens intermittently) the OS X firewall dialog pops up to ask me the question: Except it doesn't actually let me click anything before it disappears! That is: the dialog pops up, ... then goes away by itself a second later, then pops up again, ... then goes away by itself a second later, etc. It happens a few times before stopping. It wouldn't be so maddening to be interrupted if I could just be allowed to click "Allow" and make the darn thing go away for good. In Security preferences I have the firewall turned "On", and I would like to keep it that way. Has anybody seen this problem, found the source, and figured out a solution or workaround? Thank you.

For slickdeals.net, when you click login, a login box pops up like so. Also for Amazon.com, when you hover over the left navigational menus, a new menu pops up! I think it's JavaScript, but how does this work? How can I do something like that?

• Windows XP Log In: Can't do it. Logon Message popup.

  A friend recommended this site to me. Hope you can help! I can't seem to log into Windows. I boot my computer. The log In screen appears. I put in my user name and password, hit OK, and the following message pops up: "The system could not log you on. Make sure your user name and domain name are correct, then type your password again. Letters in your passwords must be typed using the correct case". NOTE: I have tried Safe Mode and the same message pops up. Just to be clear, I am not able to get into Windows (I'm stressing this b/c I've come across some suggestions that require you to be in Windows, which doesn't help in my case).   I've got an HTPC that I built myself, with a Asus P5G41T-M Motherboard. It's got an on-board HDMI port, and I've been using that with no problems. I started out with Mythbuntu ( an older version ), and recently updated to 12.04.1 LTS without any issues. I've been thinking about trying out XBMC for a while, and I decided to give it a go. Unfortunately, I seem to be running into quite a few issues. I got XBMC installed from the repos without any issues, but when I try to run it from a console, a box pops up with the following: XBMC needs hardware accelerated OpenGL rendering. Install an appropriate graphics driver. • How do I fix a terrible system error on ubuntu 12.04

  I don't know what happened, but one day my computer had some sort of a system error and could no longer update itself. The software center will not open, it will begin to initialize and then a message pops up saying theres a system error and needs to shut down the software center. Then another box pops up after I go to report it saying it was unable to identify source or package name. I also can't extract a zipped folder to anything, or reinstall Ubuntu from a USB boot drive anymore, it keeps telling me my my computer isn't compatible when I know for a fact it is, because thats how I got Ubuntu on here in the first place. the only thing I know about this error is that a message popped up after I went to check for updates saying to report the problem and include this message in the report: 'E:malformed line 56 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse)' it also called it a bug. I just want to know how to either get rid of the bug completely or find some way to be able to reinstall Ubuntu again. I know it's not a lot of information, but It's all I can give. Sorry.

  I am currently working on a project where I am using a WebBrowser control as an editor. I have design mode turned on and it seems to be working. The issue im having is when I try to save the Document and load another it pops up the "This document has been modified." message. • webbrowser disable script debugging in Visual Basic 6

  Hi, I want to disable script errors from popping up in a VB6 application. (I have VB6 installed on this machine). Currently, if I navigate to a particular page, it pops up saying "INternet Explorer Script Error: An error has ocurred in the script on this page" ... "Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?" Setting the webbrowser1.silent to 'true' does not work. Instead all that happens, is instead of displaying an error message, it starts up the actual 'script' debugger, and then exits the program. On a machine without the (visual studio) debugger, it still pops up a message asking to use the debugger, i.e., on Vista, (when silent is set to true). Manually changing the 'disable script debugging (other)' (and regular one), doesn't seem to working in MSIE (also testing version 6.0 for xp users). How do I disable script errors? • Speech Recognition Server Does Not Stay Open

  I am trying to create a simple program that loops for user speech input using com.apple.speech.recognitionserver. My code thus far is as follows: set user_response to "start" repeat while user_response is not equal to "Exit" tell application id "com.apple.speech.recognitionserver" set user_response to listen for {"Time", "Weather", "Exit"} with prompt "Good Morning" end tell if user_response = "Time" then set curr_time to time string of (the current date) set curr_day to weekday of (the current date) say "It is" say curr_time say "on" say curr_day say "day" else if user_response = "Weather" then say "It is hot outside. What do you expect?" end if end repeat say "Have a good day" If the above is run on my system it says good morning and it then pops up with the speech input system and waits for either Time, Weather, or Exit. They all do what they say they are going to do, but instead of looping if I say Time and Weather and asking again until I say exit the speechserver times out and never pops up again. Is there a way of either keeping that application open until the program ends or is applescript not capable of looping for user speech input?

• IE downloads and installs CAB dialog popup upon every page refresh

  I have a signed cab on an aspx page. I am seeing the following inconsistent behavior. Any insights would be highly appreciated. On some machines, the cab is downloaded and installed on every page refresh. On few of those machines, the IE "install cab" dialog pops up on every page refresh, while on the others it pops up only once. Additional info: The CAB contains a .NET DLL The CAB is slightly large (around 30 MB), hence recurring download behavior is a pain Target browsers are IE6 and IE7, and the behavior is common to both!

• Extra < using auto complete in Sublime Text 2

  I installed the All Autocomplete package in my Sublime Text 2 editor and everything works fine except when I type "<div" or something similar, the auto-complete box pops up, I select the one I want and hit enter and it adds "<<div></div>" with an extra "<" in the front of my tag. I have to go back and delete the extra "<" every time...(!) I can't seem to resolve this issue. If I use the command CTRL+Space, the box pops up and I can select the tag I want and it does not include the extra tag but that messes with my flow. Has anyone out there experienced this? • Maximizing the current window in javascript

  Is there a way I can maximize a currently minimized window from Javascript? Here's my situation: I have a series of links that all target the same external window (e.g. "MyNewWindow"). When I click a link, a new window pops up. If I click another link, the page pops up in the same window as expected. If I minimize the "MyNewWindow" popup, I'd like to be able to click another link and have that window maximize. My approach was to put something on the onLoad part of the body so that when the page is refreshed it will automatically "maximize" if it is minimized. Note: Using window.MoveTo() and window.resizeTo() doesnt seem to do the trick (the window stays minimized). Thanks!

• Clickonce application does not update or launch.

  I have a winforms application that I have deployed using clickonce, but the users navigate to a network drive and double click on setup.msi instead of using a webpage to install it. I have two users that have it installed and it's worked in the past. I did an udpate last week and now when the users try to launch the application the window that says "Verifying Application Requirements" pops up then when it disappears nothing happens. The dialog asking if it's ok to update never pops up. The network people have verified that they have permissions on the network drive (though, I would expect an error message if this were the issue). Any clues what could cause this to happen?

For example if I want to search "hello", a new window pops out (even if a Firefox window is already open) and then launches a Google and Bing tabs searching for "hello". If I change the keyword to "world", a new browser pops out again with Google and Bing tabs searching for "world". I've looked at the webbrowser module but couldn't get it to: 1.
