• Error while compiling ffmpeg during make

• Authorship tag or Customer reviews to enhance click-through rate

  I was first using authorship tag on all the pages of my website. That gave me a pretty decent improvement in the click through rate. However, I have recently added ratings on my website, i.e. all my pages are being rated by the readers and the same has been made available to Google via rich snippets. The result being the image of the author from the google search results has been removed. It shows ratings given by the customers and just writes the name of the author. What will be its impact on the click-through rate ? Is it OK to have the ratings or should I switch back to only authorship tag as I was using in the past ? Please comment if I am unclear in asking my problem. Thanks :)

• Is wubi for Windows 8?

  My Dell laptop shipped with Windows 8. I installed Ubuntu 12.10(64 bit) through wubi installer, the installer worked fine till the reboot demanding screen. But after the reboot, my laptop boots to a black screen with the problem stated: " File: \ubuntu\winboot\wubildr.mbr Status: 0xc000007b Info: The application or operating system couldn't be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors. " I checked for the specified path in my c drive(windows 8) and i found the file there. Now, whats the problem. Is it the compatibility of wubi with windows 8 or something else?? Could anyone help

  I was using ubuntu 10.10 from last year. every thing was Ok with that. recently I've installed Ubuntu 12.04 in place of 10.10, after installing that on my Dell laptop, I started to feel uncomfortable. It to slow event if you move mouse then its feel like i'll take 1min to move one place 2 another.. I know why this is happening, all because of 12.04 runs my CPU up to 99%-100% all over time. And there are 2-3 processes who use all the cpu.. like 1. System_Monitor 2. compiz I don't know why its use all the CPU even Other app can't able to run .. in Ubuntu 10.10 every think was Ok..   I have Lenovo Y560 Laptop on which installed Windows 7 and Ubuntu 11.10 as dual boot.Due to some reason i had to recover boot loader using bootrec.exe /fixmbr and bootrec.exe /fix boot,It created one partition of size 198MB named "tet" and my both os were working fine. Ysterday while making some changes in partition table i deleted that "tets" partition and after reboot im getting following error Error:unknow filesystem grub rescue i tried to boot from windows installer cd and but it stucks at "starting windows" so not able to run commands which i have mentioned earliar and tried to boot from Ubuntu 11.10,it stucks after showing following error memory full can't kill anymore process. Please help me out

  It is very difficult to use ubuntu. After six hours of research on various websites and ubuntu blogs I was unable to connect to internet using my Huawei DataCard E303C. I wonder that if it takes so much long time to figure out how to connect to internet using a 3g datacard (Huawei E303C) to connect to internet, then how would I do my daily computing tasks using ubuntu. Is there anyone who can help me with that. My personal practical experiences says that using ubuntu instead of windows is not different but tough. Yes it is very tough to use ubuntu. Why it cannot be like we double click and software gets installed as it happens in windows and why we always have to use terminal to install everything. Why everything in ubuntu is very difficult and tough to accomplish. I am drifting away from ubuntu. Can any developer at ubuntu help keep my interest in ubuntu? • Duplicate content appearing for multi lingual sites

  I have a site which has a default url say "http://www.blahblah.com/" (which is default in english language). In my site there is support for multi languages. I am having few links at my home page say "English" "French" "Spanish" etc. and on clicking these links user is redirected to these links: http://www.blahblah.com/en-us/ (English) http://www.blahblah.com/fr-ca/ (French) http://www.blahblah.com/spanish-culture/ (Spanish) and based on culture in the url I am showing the content accordingly to end users in their desired language. Now, this was how my site is. The issue I am getting is with SEO. I noticed Google is considering (I checked via Google web masters) my site pages as duplicate like: 1. http://www.blahblah.com/documents/ and http://www.blahblah.com/en-us/documents/ 2. http://www.blahblah.com/news/ and http://www.blahblah.com/en-us/news and similarly all the pages are considered as a duplicate content in Google webmasters tools. I am worried of this, since I think my site is getting penalized in ranking because of this. Could you drop some idea how to overcome this situation?

  Was trying to install Ubuntu from a CD on a machine which already has windows on it, choose the option of "Resize IDE1 master (hda) and use freed space" during the "Install the base system" step. After that i get the error: Unable to install initrd-tools. An error was returned while trying to install the initrd-tools package into the target system. Check /target/var/log/bootstrap.log for details. The problem is one one hand i cannot proceed with the complete installation and on other hand if i remove the CD, am not able to boot windows as it says No bootable device. Would highly appreciate for any recommendations.

• Executing a C program stored on a windows drive?

  I wrote a simple hello world program but not stored it in Ubuntu's home directory, instead I stored it on one of the Windows drives. (I am using Ubuntu 12.04 alongside of Windows.) When I compiled the program it worked just fine but when I tried to execute it I got an error message "Permission denied". • How does one rein in the complexities of web development ?

  I have been a server-side programmer for most of my career and have only recently started spending more time on web development. I am amazed at the number of things I need to master in order to write a decent web application. Just to list down a few tools/technologies I need to learn, Server side programming language (Java/JSP, ASP, PHP, Ruby or something else) A decent web framework (for any medium to big size application). HTML & CSS Javascript Javascript library (JQuery/ExtJS etc. primarily for AJAX). Good to know even if not necessary. At least a basic knowledge of web design - layouts, colors, fonts etc. A good understanding of web security. A good understanding of Performance/scalability issues. Testing, browser compatibility issues etc. The list goes on. So, my question to seasoned web developers is - How do you guys manage to learn and keep yourself updated on so many things? While developing a web application, how do you handle the complexities involved in these areas and yet manage to write an application that is well designed, user friendly, secure, performant and scalable. As a web developer, does one have to be a jack of all trades or should one specialize in one or two areas and leave the rest to other members of the team ?

• How to solve my big communication issue and take care in future

  My company had a POC which was done by me,my senior ,my boss and our channel partner team 4 people and our company team done most of coding and first installation of the softwares of the POC was done by channel partner team, and documented the same thing, i had installed on our server, Our comapny team worked very hard. Now we are about to start second stage of POC. But today my boss told me that my senior and channel partner team have issue with me ,regarding my communication. So before considering me on this project they want to resolve this issue or not considered me . I agree i have less communications skills. and I don't ask any question till i need to any one , i prefer to ask on stackoverflow. But i don't know, how this issue is being arise ,i had done all the things they asked , replied to all email and talk on phone. I always obeyed them. I always told them what they asked. what should i do that these type of issue doesn't arrive in future. And now boss told me to prepare a script to talk with my senior to resolve the issue. what should i talk to my senior? I want to work on this project , but i don't want to do so much request to work on this project. How should and what should (Code Documentation , Research Material I done etc . what are docs neccessary for communication with team member )i communication with my team member in future so these kind of issue not arise.

• Empathy Audio Call Option Disabled 13.04

  Recently, I noticed that the Audio Call option is now disabled (greyed out) in Empathy when I right click on an available GoogleTalk contact. This option used to be available a few days ago. I do have libtelepathy-farstream3, libfarstream-0.1-0, and libfarstream-0.2-2 installed on Ubuntu 13.04 x64 with kernel 3.8.0-27. (Note, I just upgraded the kernel to 3.8.0-29 and still have this issue). Has anyone else experienced this recently, and if so, is there a resolution?

  Problem: Find a match of word S in text T Given: S and T are part of spoken and written English. Example: Match 'Math' in 'I love Mathematics' NOTE: Ignore CASES. My algorithm: STEP 1) Convert S, T to char[] STEP 2) for i=0, i < T.length , i++ STEP 3) for j=S.length-1, j>0 , j-- STEP 3 is the magic, instead of going about matching M,A,T,H, this matches M, H, T and finally A. This helps in eliminating a lot of possible partial matches. • No windows whatsoever after compiz reset

  Currently using 12.04. This time I was trying to use the application switcher, and it asked me to resolve a few conflicts most of which were not easy to comprehend. So after some yes and no dialogue boxes leading me nowhere, I thought a reset should set things fine. However, after preferences-reset to default, I can't see any window!! NONE whatsoever except the log out one when I press ctrl+alt+del All I can see is the wallpaper and the mouse pointer. I cant even see the terminal or anything when I press alt+f2. I am posting this when I switch to ubuntu 2d (I cant make out the difference between the two, but this just works for now almost the same way)
