• How to develop Online Shopping Portal Application using PHP ?

  I do not know PHP & I have to develop a Shopping Portal with following Definition : Scenario: Online Shopping Portal XYZ.com wants to create an online shopping portal for managing its registered customers and their shopping. The customers need to register themselves first before they do shopping using the shopping portal. However, everyone, whether registered or not, can view the various products along with the prices listed in the portal. The registered customers, after logging in, are allowed to place order for one or more products from the products listed in the portal. Once the order is placed, the customer gets a reference order number and the order status should be “order in process”. The customers can track their order using the given reference number. The management of XYZ.com should be able to modify the order status of a particular reference order number to “shipped” once the products are shipped to the shipping address entered by the customer at the time of placing the order. The Functionalities required are : Create the interface for the XYZ.com shopping portal using HTML/XHTML and CSS. Implement the client side validations using JavaScript. Create the tables using MySQL. Implement the functionality using the server side scripting language, PHP. Integrate all the above tasks and make the XYZ.com shopping portal functional. While for the beginners, Virus is a complicated matter to fight with. Please explain the way how the virus come flow across the PC using Internet. What are the ways to search for them in the Personal Computer ? Also, we do have various solutions available in the market of Anti-Viruses, but also have different comments available for different software. Which is actually, really a useful Anti-Virus in the market that can give reliable performance ? Every Personal Computer connected to internet has to face against the viruses. Isn't there any general solution using Internet itself through which all networked computers get protected against Viruses ? Please give any solution.

• Problem While Deploying Application in GlassFish

  I have to deploy an application named "mrs-ws-server.war" in glassfish. I did it using both : 1) Package File to be uploaded to the server 2) Local package File or Directory at the address : http://localhost:42328/common/index.jsf It generates the following error : Exception while loading the app : java.lang.Exception: java.lang.IllegalStateException: ContainerBase.addChild: start: org.apache.catalina.LifecycleException: org.springframework.transaction.CannotCreateTransactionException: Could not open Hibernate Session for transaction; nested exception is org.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException: Cannot open connection What should be the solution for the same ?

• Choice of Operating System Version for Azure Roles

  Customers can now choose when their applications receive new operating system updates and patches by selecting which version of the operating system their applications will run on in Windows Azure.  Right now there is only one available operating system version (released on December 17th, 2009), but new builds with the latest updates and patches will be released regularly.  This new feature allows developers to test their applications when new patches come out before upgrading their production deployments. • Path is too long

  Bugged by the irritating "Path is too long after being fully qualified" error while running in the Development Fabric? The solution is pretty funny and not so obvious unfortunately. The culprit here is not your app, but the Development Fabric. The DevFab accumulates a lot of temporary junk comprising of local storage locations, cached binaries, configuration, diagnostics information and cached compiled web site content files over its lifetime. They are typically stored at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\dftmp. The Azure Tools will periodically clean this up, but some time you have to play janitor and take the law in your hands ;). The csrun.exe has quite a few tricks up its sleeve. One of them is the ability to clean the development fabric's temporary junk accumulated over time. You can do this by  running the Azure command prompt with elevated privileges and running csrun.exe /devfabric:shutdown and then csrun.exe /devfabric:clean If the problem still persists then the application directory structure could indeed be too long. A workaround to this is changing the Development Fabric temporary directory to point to a shorter path. The temporary directory path can be addressed by an environment variable _CSRUN_STATE_DIRECTORY. You can try setting its value to something like "C:\WA" or "C:\A" this will reduce some 25+ characters from your path. Do not forget to close Visual Studio and expressly shutdown the dev fab with csrun.exe /devfabric:shutdown (Under elevated privileges of course).   Ever since we’ve been using Data we’ve been religious. Religious about the way we represent it and equally religious about the way we access it. Be it plain old SQL, DAO, ADO, ADO.Net and I am just referring to religions in MSFT world. A peek outside and I’d need a separate book to list out the Data faiths. Various application areas in networked computing are converging under the HTTP umbrella with a plausible transition to purist HTTP and in turn REST fuelled by the Web2.0 storm. It was time the Data access faiths also gave up the religious silos wrapped around our long worshipped data publishing and access methods. OData is the secular solution we have at hand today. It is an open protocol for sharing data. It can be exposed via REST. It is Open as in the Microsoft Open Specification Promise. This allows virtually everyone to build Data Services for any runtime. OData is one of the key standards for Data publishing/subscribing on Microsoft Codename Dallas. For us .Netters OData data sources can be exposed/consumed via WCF Data Services and the process is very simple, elegant and intuitive. • Linqpad with Table Storage

  LinqPad as we all know has been a wonderful tool for running ad-hoc queries. With Azure Table storage in picture LinqPad was no longer in picture and we shifted focus to Cloud Storage Studio only to realize the limited and strange querying capabilities of CSS. With some tweaking to Linqpad we can get the comfortable old shoe of ad-hoc queries with LinqPad in the Azure Table storage. Steps: 1. Start LinqPad 2. Right Click in the query window and select “Query Properties” 3. In The Additional References add reference to Microsoft.WindowsAzure.StorageClient, System.Data.Services.Client.dll and the assembly containing the implementation of the DataServiceContext class tied to the Azure table storage. 4. In the additional namespace imports import the same three namespaces mentioned above. 5. Then we need to provide following details. a. Table storage account name and shared key. b. DataServiceContext implementing class in your code. c.   MapReduce is a programming model and an associated implementation for processing and generating large data sets. Users specify a map function that processes a key/value pair to generate a set of  intermediate key/value pairs, and a reduce function that merges all intermediate values associated with the same intermediate key. Many real world tasks are expressible in this model, as shown in the paper. Programs written in this functional style are automatically parallelized and executed on a large cluster of commodity machines. The run-time system takes care of the details of partitioning the input data,  scheduling the program's execution across a set of machines, handling machine failures, and managing the required inter-machine communication. This allows programmers without any experience with parallel and distributed systems to easily utilize the resources of a large distributed system. Example: A process to count the appearances of each different word in a set of documents void map(String name, String document):   // name: document name   // document: document contents   for each word w in document:     EmitIntermediate(w, 1); void reduce(String word, Iterator partialCounts):   // word: a word   // partialCounts: a list of aggregated partial counts   int result = 0;   for each pc in partialCounts:     result += ParseInt(pc);   Emit(result); Here, each document is split in words, and each word is counted initially with a "1" value by the Map function, using the word as the result key.   The tasks required to create an application that access the AppFabric Service Bus are as follows: Create a service namespace. This service namespace contains the resources used by the AppFabric Service Bus to support the application. Define the AppFabric Service Bus contract. A contract specifies the signature of the service, the data it exchanges, and other required inputs, behavior specifications, and object invariants. Implement the contract. To implement a service contract, create a class that implements the interface and specify custom runtime behaviors. Configure the service by specifying endpoint and other behavior information. Build and run the service. Build and run the client application. As with any iterative, service-oriented software development, it may not always be appropriate to follow the preceding steps sequentially, or even start from step 1.   Greetings, Would like to know if we need to explicitly free the string allocated by a xmldomnodeptr using it's get_text() i.e. IXMLDOMNodePtr pNode; /*some code*/ BSTR sValue; pNode->get_text(&sValue); /*Should I do this?*/ SysFreeString(sValue); I cannot see any documentation stating the same, so I'm assuming we need to do explicit deallocation sysfreestring. • can we get the penultimate exception that occurred from an mdmp or hdmp in windbg

  Hi, I got a crash dump (both mdmp and hdmp) for my application (written in C++) captured using dr. watson. After analyzing the dumps through windbg, I concluded that the crash had occurred in the catch() itself :) What I need to know is what exception caused the the failure in the first place i.e. I need that penultimate(last but one th) exception that had occurred. I know I could get the same by some other ways, but is there a specific command with which we could get the list of errors\exceptions occurring from the dump file. Thanks. --Samrat Patil
