  • Trying to compile from source newest apache with newest openssl

    I need to install apache 2.4.10 using openssl 1.0.1i. I compiled openssl from source with: $ ./config \ --prefix=/opt/openssl-1.0.1i \ --openssldir=/opt/openssl-1.0.1i $ make $ sudo make install and Apache with: ./configure --prefix=/etc/apache2 \ --enable-access_compat=shared \ --enable-actions=shared \ --enable-alias=shared \ --enable-allowmethods=shared \ --enable-auth_basic=shared \ --enable-authn_core=shared \ --enable-authn_file=shared \ --enable-authz_core=shared \ --enable-authz_groupfile=shared \ --enable-authz_host=shared \ --enable-authz_user=shared \ --enable-autoindex=shared \ --enable-dir=shared \ --enable-env=shared \ --enable-headers=shared \ --enable-include=shared \ --enable-log_config=shared \ --enable-mime=shared \ --enable-negotiation=shared \ --enable-proxy=shared \ --enable-proxy_http=shared \ --enable-rewrite=shared \ --enable-setenvif=shared \ --enable-ssl=shared \ --enable-unixd=shared \ --enable-ssl \ --with-ssl=/opt/openssl-1.0.1i \ --enable-ssl-staticlib-deps \ --enable-mods-static=ssl make (would run sudo make install next but I get an error) I'm essentially following the guide here except with newer slightly newer versions. I would prefer to just use aptitude, but unfortunately the versions I need aren't available yet. If anyone knows how to fix the linker problem (or what I think is a linker problem), or knows of a better way to tell apache to use a newer openssl, it would be greatly appreciated; I've got apache 1.0.1i working otherwise.

  • auto-mounting shared folders in VirtualBox

    I am writing to ask what the effect of the auto-mounting process is in VirtualBox, and where the folders can be accessed within a guest Linux system if auto-mount is used. I have VirtualBox 4.0.4 installed on Mac OS 10.6.7, with Guest Additions apparently running correctly. The guest OS is Ubuntu 10.04, and I observe no apparent problems with it. I find that if the shared folders have "auto-mount" unchecked in the VirtualBox settings, they can then be mounted using the prescribed syntax sudo mount -t vboxsf folder_name path_to_mount_point and all works as it is supposed to. But if the auto-mount option is checked, then I find that I can no longer mount the shared folders manually. I get the error mounting failed with the error: Invalid argument and the folders also do not appear to mount anywhere else accessible to me. Using the syntax sudo mount -t vboxsf without specifying a path installs them in /media, with their names prefixed with sf_, but they are not easily accessible there and I have not been able to change their owner using chown, either.     I'm trying to copy all files and folders from one directory to another, but exclude certain files. Specifically, I want to exclude subversion files and folders. However, I'd like a general yet concise solution. I imagine I'll find the need to exclude several types of files in the near future. For example, I might want to exclude .svn, *.bak, and *.prj. Here is what I've put together so for, but it is not working for me. The first part, find works, but I'm doing something wrong with xargs and cp. I tried cp with and without the -R. Also, I'm using OS X and it appears to have a less featured version of xargs than linux systems. find ./sourcedirectory -not \( -name .svn -a -prune \) | xargs -IFILES cp -R FILES ./destinationdirectory

  • Can't access public folders after upgrade to Exchange 2010

    After upgrading a domain from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010, I cannot access the public folders from Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007. I can access the public folders from OWA. The error message in Outlook 2003 is: Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook could not access the specified folder location. Could not open the item. Try again. So far, trying again has not helped. :-P According to the Outlook RPC diagnostic window, Outlook is connecting to the Exchange 2010 server when it tries to get the public folders.

  • Getting kernel errors when manually mounting VirtualBox shared folders

    Updated: I've rephrased this problem as I understand it a bit more now (and have encountered another problem). I'm using a Fedora 15 guest on a Windows 7 host using VirtualBox. I am trying to mount a partition on the host PC as a shared folder for use in the guest. The folder appears in /media and is accessible when I use the auto-mount feature when setting up the shared folder, but when I attempt to mount without auto-mount I get the following error: $ sudo mount.vboxsf data /mnt/host_data /sbin/mount.vboxsf: Could not add an entry to the mount table.: Invalid argument In addition a popup appears (part of Fedora/GNOME) reporting a crash in the kernel package: WARNING: at lib/list_debug.c:26 __list_add+0x3e/0x81() However the shared folder seems to work, I can certainly browse it (although everything seems to be executable, probably down to a Windows host). Is there something wrong with what I'm doing or is this a bug (and in which case should it be reported to the Linux Kernel team or VirtualBox)?

  • Moving large amounts of data between shared hosts

    I recently acquired a client who is a photographer and was interested in moving web hosts since his current host had threatened to throw him off due to CPU spiking. The migration went fairly easily, with about 350MBs of website and media files. Then I discovered about 60GBs of client galleries he had failed to mention. I am unable to move this much data myself, since I'm capping out at about 20kb/s on the FTP connection. Has anyone encountered a situation where they needed to migrate this much data between cheap hosting? Should we contact the hosting companies about this (he is moving from Westhost to MediaTemple)?

  • Application trying to use the wrong shared library

    I'm having a problem with a program (quartus) running on my ubuntu machine. I'm getting the following error. quartus: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libXi.so: undefined symbol: XESetWireToEventCookie I have the correct libXi.so.6.0.0 file but no matter where I put it, the OS won't use it unless I apt-get remove libxi-dev, but a lot of software uses this libXi. What I want to do is add some sort of exception to the dynamic linker so that quartus uses the libXi.so that it needs and everything else still uses the one in /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu. Thanks!

    I am currently administrating two servers: first one has no control panel, I am creating directory structure, setting permission, configuring different aspects (users/php-fpm pools, nginx hosts..) for each of sites. With more clients, I sat up ISPConfig on my second server, everything is easily handled by ISPConfig Web Interface. However, I am searching for a CLI based solution, i.e. a set of scripts to create and manage hosts. Basically, a method to control ISPConfig from the command line (so I can use it over SSH) would be a good start. Does anybody know of such effort? I searched but all I got was web based solutions.     With the release of WebCenter Content PS5, a new folder architecture called 'Framework Folders' was introduced.  This is meant to replace the folder architecture of 'Folders_g'.  While the concepts of a folder structure and access to those folders through Desktop Integration Suite remain the same, the underlying architecture of the component has been completely rewritten.  One of the main goals of the new folders is to scale better at large volumes and remove the limitations of 1000 content items or sub-folders within a folder.  Along with the new architecture, it has a new look and a few additional features have been added.  One of those features are Query Folders.  These are folders that are populated simply by a query rather then literally putting items within the folders.  This is something that the Library has provided, but it always took an administrator to define them through the Web Layout Editor.  Now users can quickly define query folders anywhere within the standard folder hierarchy.     Through the normal processes I enter my shared music folder on my Windows computer, i.e.: Places Network Windows pc Music. After rebooting my Ubuntu laptop, however, this connection isn't automatically set again. My question: How do I get Ubuntu to automatically connect to that shared folder after login (while first checking whether the Windows computer is 'online')? This because I added the folder to the Banshee Library, and I currently first have to go to the shared folder manually before Banshee can play the files.

  • why adding router will hide all share folders

    I have several computers running winxp installed in my office, they are all connecting to the WAN providing by the building (wall socket) (DHCP, mask 255.255.252.0). I setup a shared folder in my computer so all other computer in the same group could access it. This configuration have been using for long time. Recently, I am trying to setup a router. I have the WAN port of the router go to the wall socket, connect the NIC to the LAN port of the router, setup the router in DHCP mode (192.168.0.100/255.255.255.0 to 192.168.0.110 /255.255.255.0), I turn off all the firewall (windows one and router's builtin one), the NIC has ip set as DHCP. If I ipconfig/all, I see that the NIC was assigned ip 192.168.0.100. I can access the internal, email whatever. However, the shared folder can no longer be accessed by other computers in the same group. I think it is the problem of ip. But what's really weird is if I turn off the DHCP function in the router, ipconfig/all always give 0.0.0.0/255.255.255.255 and I cannot access the internet. I have no idea what's going on. Anyone know how to fix it and allow the shared folder in application of router? Thanks.

    I'm using ClamXav on my mac. I've read this, and I am aware of the whole macs-need-no-AV-but-they-do-anyway discussion. I guess that's why I would feel like a real ass if I somehow managed to compromise my system! So ClamXav has been downloaded and ClamXav Sentry set up to start on log-in, but it doesn't really do anything before you tell it to. Specifically, you have to tell it which folders to watch for virusses/vira so I'm wondering, where are good places to look? Currently it's been set up to look the following places: In the home folder: ~/Downloads ~/Library/Caches ~/Library/Contextual Menu Items ~/Library/Cookies ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins ~/Library/LaunchAgents In my system folder: /Library/Application Support /Library/Caches /Library/Contextual Menu Items /Library/Cookies /Library/Internet Plug-Ins /Library/LaunchAgents /Library/LaunchDaemons /Library/Startupitems Basically, this is 100% conjecture. All (most of) the folders have something to do with internet and things that start up automatically, so I'm guessing that's where vira go. But still, the qustion: Which folders should ClamXav Sentry watch, if any? FYI, I'm not using any mail app's, but please include that in your answer for anyone who might be interested. Cheers!

  • Problem in accessing Windows shared folder on Ubuntu using terminal

    Hi Guys, Description I have 2 systems with me, one running on Windows(Host) and one on Ubuntu, both on a LAN. On the Windows(Host) I develop software intended for the Linux system and because the Linux system has little external memory, my idea to overcome this is by making the project folder on the Host side a Shared Folder with full access and access it on Ubuntu over the network. To achieve this, I have installed Samba on Ubuntu, when I go to Places -> Network I can see the shared project folder and I simply mount it. A link appears on the desktop. Next, using Nautilus I open the link and I can access the contents of the shared folder. Problem Even though I mount the shared project folder, I don't see it appearing in the /media or the /mnt folder, as a result of this I don't know what path to use to access this folder, from the terminal. For example: When, I mounted my USB stick, as expected, a link for the device appears on the Desktop and I also see a folder in the media folder. So, similarly, a mounted shared folder should have appeared on the /mnt folder, too. Can anyone suggest what I should do now? There are many posts around, but no solid solution for this problem.     Im trying to setup libwebsock, simple C websocket library. I followed the installation procedure from INSTALL file, everything went fine. Im able to compile test program given in the examples. But when I want to run my executable, wild error appears: ./echo: error while loading shared libraries: libwebsock.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I checked /usr/local/lib twice, libwebsock.so.1 exists and is doing very well. I also tried copying the lib to the echo folder (so its placed next to binary), still same error. It's quite funny for me: shadowz@Ubu:~/WebSocket$ ls echo echo.c echo.cpp libwebsock.so.1 shadowz@Ubu:~/WebSocket$ ./echo ./echo: error while loading shared libraries: libwebsock.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Any suggestions?     I'm trying to set up a folder in my home directory that will be shared with another user but for some reason it is not working this is what I've done, I have tried two different ways using ACL's and chown/chgrp etc I set up a group called say: sharedgroup and added both my user (john) and fred to it so when I run groups john john wheel sharedgroup groups fred sharedgroup fred mkdir /home/john/shared vim /home/john/shared/hello.txt (typed in some text saved it) chown -R :sharedgroup shared chmod -R o=-rwx shared ll drwxrwx--- 2 john sharedgroup 4096 Sep 9 21:14 shared ll shared -rw-rw-r-- 1 john sharedgroup 7 Sep 9 21:14 hello.txt (I also tried adding in the s permissions but that didn't help either) then when I log out of the server and log back in as fred and try these commands they fail vim /home/john/shared/hello.txt (won't allow me to write opens a blank file) cd /home/john/shared -bash: cd: /home/john/cis: Permission Denied ls /home/john/shared -ls: /home/john/shared: Permission Denied ls -lad /home/john/shared -ls: /home/john/shared: Permission Denied id fred uid=500(fred) gid=502(sharedgroup) groups=502(sharedgroup),500(fred) context=user_u:system_r:unconfined_t Any idea what I'm doing wrong??
