  • Support for VB.NET's Imported Namespaces feature in C#

    I am use to VB.NET. The game source code I am learning from is written in C#. I find it annoying that I have to add using System.Diagnostics to the source code in order to type Debug.WriteLine.... I checked under project properties, but I cannot find the References tab that allows me to add namespaces to Imported Namespaces. Where do I find this in C#? Also, why can't I do this in C#? Imports x = System.Math

  • simple yet secure encrypt / decrypt asp to asp.net

    First post here. I have a asp/vb6 web app that logs in a user I want to encrypt the users identity field and pass(querystring) it to a asp.net app and then decrypt it to do a db lookup. I've google'd it of course and found rot13, not secure enough. I've also found some hits on MD5 / RC4 but did not find any good examples of encrypt / decrypt. Thanks, Michael

    Similar to Ubiquitous way to get the root directory an application is running in via C#, but that question seems to be related to Win Forms. How would the same be done for Web Forms? I was using... HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath("~") This works great for handling HTTP requests but seems not to work if a scheduler like Quartz.NET invokes a job (the problem I am having). The HttpContext.Current is null in that scenario since an actual HTTP request is not made.

    Hi, I need to change the code of some asp.net application but the application is missing its .cs files, there are only .aspx files. As I read in google, I understand that the application is a precompiled website. I am not too familiar with it so the question is, can I somehow retrieve the code-behind .cs files of this application because I need to change some functions there.     Can I write code against .Net 4 and its libraries using VS2008? If so how should I configure it? I realise that VS2008 will probably struggle with language changes such as the dynamic keyword but can I install the version 4 and target it anyway?
