Gmail won't forward mail sent to myself.

I own a dedicated server with a domain, we'll say foobar.com. I use google apps to manage my email SMTP servers. Now I don't check two gmail inboxes. I have my own personal one, and then I have foobar.com's inbox from google apps. Naturally the easiest thing to do is just have all foobar's emails forwarded to my personal one. So then I am only checking 1 inbox. This is all fine and dandy. I use MSMTP that with a wrapper that uses /etc/aliases. I have it set so any mail attempting to go to root (Things from cron, etc) will go to [email protected]. So when google app's (foobar.com) gets an email from the email I have setup with it ([email protected]), it automatically doesn't forward the message. This is a "feature" to gmail/google apps I suppose. How do I get around it? workarounds? etc. I could just have my alias set to my personal email but I wanted a place to have all foobar related emails archived in one place (googleapps).

script to list user's mapped drive not giving results or error

We are in the process of migrating two file servers to a new server. We have mapped drives via user group in group policy. Many users have manually mapped drives and we need to find these mappings. I have created a PowerShell script to run that remotely get the drive mappings. It works on most computers but there are many that are not returning results and I am not getting any error messages. Each workstation on the list creates a text file and the ones that are not returning results have no text in the files. I can ping these machines. If the machine is not turned on, it does come up error message that the RPC server is not available. My domain user account is in a group that is in the local admin account. I have no idea why some are not working. Windows 7 logon script net use fails

Our network PCs currently consists of Windows XP Professional on a mixed 2008/2003 domain, with exception to one machine, which is a new Windows 7 PC we have bought for testing before we deploy the operating system. But we have discovered a problem with our logon script which automatically maps network drives for our users. The logon scripts are done via User GPOs, but the script itself is just a .cmd file using net use. The permissions are perfectly fine, as the same user can log on to a Windows XP machine and get their drives mapped without problem, but this one drive mapping constantly fails. This is repeatable using the net use command, and fails every time - it actually prompts the user for a username and password when executed interactively, yet if we enter \\server\share from a run dialog, the contents of the network share appear and are accessible without any further authentication. The Windows 7 PC (just like the XP systems) are domain members and the account being used is a domain account, which does have access to the share (as stated, it works fine on XP). I fail to understand what is happening here, as other shares on the server get mapped on the Windows 7 system. More info: The effective permissions of the share in question only grant the user 'list' permission on the root directory, the share permissions are 'everyone,full control'. I've created a new share with the same permissions just to test if it was down to the 'list' permissions on the root directory, but the Windows 7 machine maps this one fine.

Browsers behaving very strangely/not working in Windows Vista SP 2

Sorry, that I'm posting this as a guest, but I couldn't log in. Maybe you can help me. I had a virus and gave this inspiron 1525 laptop to a computer expert, who removed it. I think he reinstalled Windows, because when I got it back IE 7 was installed. So after 3 hours I installed SP 1, SP 2, IE 9 and Google Chrome. First when there was only SP 1 and IE 7 installed, I could only use Google in IE, and I had copy the links download links of the updates (Update center didn't work) over to Google Chrome to download it there, because I couldn't do that in IE. Now I can't use Google at all, but strangely Bing works. Also I can display certain pages, but not all (I could open StackExchange, but not the login page; that's why I'm posting this as a guest). Another strange thing is, that now a webpage either works in both browsers (I couldn't install Opera, because the installer says it can't download the files) or in none. It is a 32 Bit system. It would be nice if you could help! I hope I will be even able to post this question...

Script to mirror MS SQL Server databases between 2 servers

Hi I have about 200 sites each of which have 2 servers running MSSQL (2k5 at some sites, 2k8 at others) One server is production and the other is primarily there as a backup. We're rebuilding all of these servers this year and as part of that we will have to set up mirroring for ... a lot ... of databases. Some of these sites have 45 databases so mirroring them manually is going to be a huge pain. I was going to write a batch script which uses SQLCMD to backup the database and log, copies to the secondary server, restores the backup and log with norecovery, creates the endpoints and sets the partner. This in itself isn't too complicated, but i'd love to see what other people have done as i'm not very confident in catching errors using the process i've outlined above. I've seen Tools to manage sql 2008 database mirroring? Which looks really good, but the formatting is jumbled and I can't get it to work. If anyone has any other scripts they've written and are willing to share I'd be eternally grateful. Ideally I'd love to be able to use a script to ensure there are matching endpoints (same ports) on both servers, backup the database, backup the log, copy the backups to second server, restore database and log with norecovery, set the partners on both servers, and somehow confirm that the databases are linked and synchronized. Powershell Script Scheduled Task Stopped Running (Could not Start)

I'm running a scheduled task (for Powershell Script) on Windows 2003 Server. I believe the script works fine. The task is scheduled to run every 10 minutes from 7:00am to 11:50pm everyday. However, it never gets to run more for than a day. It always stops some time in the afternoon (between 2pm and 6pm). I'm not sure exactly what happened but I always get the error The attempt to log on to the account associated with the task failed, therefore, the task did not run. The specific error is: 0x80070569: Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer. Verify that the task's Run-as name and password are valid and try again. It seems like most people with this error are saying that they need to make user "logon as a batch job". However, this option is greyed-out for me. I search for other places where users have similar problems but the solutions are not written in detail (some of them have something to do with GPO). I've only used the basic features of Windows Server and I have no clue how to get to the place they are referring to. Can someone please confirm whether "logon as a batch job" is indeed a solution and provide a detailed walkthrough on how to solve my problem? Thanks. p.s. someone suggested the website http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc755659(v=ws.10) I tried to followed the method for web server with domain. However, got stuck on the 6th step where it mentions Group Policy Object. I don't know where it is.

Setting up logging for a remote backup script

So I wrote up a short script that I am planning to run via a cron job daily to package up my site files and send them to a remote location. I also plan to incorporate DB dumps, but I have not gotten that far yet. My issue today however is that Im am uncertain how to log the output of each command for errors, warnings, or other pertinent information the command may output. I would also like to install sometype of fail safe so if something goes horribly wrong the script will stop dead in its tracks and notify me via email or something. Ok the email thing is not as critical, but would be nice. Does anybody have any ideas for that? Here is what I have so far. RSS "Newspaper" / Google Reader replacement

With the impending demise of Google Reader I've been looking at ways to replace it. I've decided that what might be cool is to get an email every morning, with all the updates from the last twenty-four hours, maybe in the style of a newspaper. That's not a very original idea, since sites like http://fivefilters.org/pdf-newspaper/ and http://feedjournal.com/ already do this, but they both have various drawbacks. In particular both require a single feed, will just take the last n items, and clicking around on their website. The Pro option for feedjournal seems almost like it would do the job, but the project seems to be dead, and there's no way to buy it. Before I hack together something crazy I'd like to know if there's a better solution to my problem. In short: I want to replace Google Reader with a daily pdf email, how should I do this? edit: I didn't award the bounty because nobody solved the problem (not that I'm assuming it has a solution). Answers like "well for the way I do things this wouldn't work" aren't actually helpful, even if they are well-meaning.

How to access Virtual machine using powershell script

For that I used below script, Enter-PSSession -computername sheetal-VDD -credential compose04.com\abc.xyz1 where, sheetal-VDD is hostname of virtual machine compose04.com is the domain name of virtual machine and abc.xyz1 is the username of virtual machine After entering above command , it asks for password. When the password is entered I get below error, Enter-PSSession : Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message : WinRM cannot process the reques t. The following error occured while using Kerberos authentication: There are currently no logon servers available to s ervice the logon request. Same script, different behavior [migrated]

I just stumbled upon an interesting bug... Still trying to figure out what is exactly happening. Maybe you can help. First, the context. I'm currently building yet another man to html converter (for some reasons I won't motivate here, but I need it). So, have a look at the screenshot below (see the link), more precisely at the outlined spots. See? On the upper shell, I have &lt ; and &gt ;, that is, escaped html. While on the shell below I have < and directly. But as you can see (or do I seriously need looking glass ?), the command man 2 semget | webmanneris the same on both sides, as is the which webmanner. The two are executed roughly at the same moment, with no modification made to the script between. [Oops, cannot post pictures just yet... Here comes the link] http://aspyct.org/media/webmanner-bug.png But the shell below is older (open about 1 hour ago). Newer shells all print out &lt ;. So my first guess was that it somehow had a cached reference to the old inode of the file, or old blocks or whatever. So I modified parts of the script, at the start and then at the end, to print different messages. And, surprise, the message shown up on both terminals. But still, same difference between &lt ; and <. I'm confused... How to explain that behavior? I'm working on a OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion) EDIT: OK, there is one big difference: the shell below uses ruby 1.9.3, while above is 1.8.7. Is there any known difference in string handling between the two versions ?

How to unit test asynchronous APIs?

Hi all. I have installed Google Toolbox for Mac (http://code.google.com/p/google-toolbox-for-mac/) into Xcode and followed the instructions to set up unit testing found here (http://code.google.com/p/google-toolbox-for-mac/wiki/iPhoneUnitTesting). It all works great, and I can test my synchronous methods on all my objects absolutely fine. However, most of the complex APIs I actually want to test return results asynchronously via calling a method on a delegate - for example a call to a file download and update system will return immediately and then run a -fileDownloadDidComplete: method when the file finishes downloading. How would I test this as a unit test? It seems like I'd want to the testDownload function, or at least the test framework to 'wait' for fileDownloadDidComplete: method to run. Any ideas much appreciated!

get img src from an img loaded dynamically using jQuery

Hey Guys (and Ladies) I am looking at getting the image name from an image with a src loaded dynamically. Basically what I am doing is using the Google chat badge on a site to live chatting. And else where on the page, I have an image saying Live Chat:Online or Live Chat:Offline. And I want this to change depending on whether I am available to chat or not. Does this make sense? Anyway, the easiest way I figure to do this would be check the img url. If the img is offline.gif then obviously I am offline. An example of a dynamically loaded img would be something like <img src="http://www.google.com/talk/service/badge/Show?encrypted_acount_id_here" /> Once this image has loaded, it loads one of the following images "http://www.google.com/talk/service/resources/offlinef.gif" "http://www.google.com/talk/service/resources/idlef.gif" "http://www.google.com/talk/service/resources/onlinef.gif" Hopefully this make sense now. Hey guys, I need a little help.. iv'e been developing a Jqery plug-in to get the page ranks of urls on a website using XHR, The problem is when requesting the rank from google servers the page is returned no content, but if i use an inspector and get the url that was requests and go to it via my browser the pageranks are shown. so it must be something with headers but its just got me puzzled. How to make script paths inside user control independent of page hierarchy.

My website is organized in the following folder structure Root Pages CustomerManagement DepartMentManagement Script UserControls Now i have a user control inside userControl Folder. I have to use a external js file. So i use it this way <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="../Script/slider.js"></script> My understanding is that since both are under root so i have used a single .. Now what happens is that when this usercontrol is used inside DepartMentManagement it checks for script folder inside CustomerManagement as .. refers to one hierarchy above and script file is not found.Even using a ~ doesnot work. I want to make this script path independent of the path where this control is used. I don't want to move script reference code to the page as control requires script mot page.Please tell me how to achieve this.

Geocoding non-addresses: Geopy

Using geopy to geocode alcohol outlets in NZ. The problem I have is that some places do not have street addresses but are places in Google Maps. For example, plugging: Furneaux Lodge, Endeavour Inlet, Queen Charlotte Sound, Marlborough 7250 into Google Maps via the browser GUI gives me However, using that in Geopy I get a GQueryError saying this geographic location does not exist. How can I determine/use $(this) in js callback script

I am using Rails and jQuery, making an ajax call initiated by clicking a link. I setup my application.js file to look like the one proposed here and it works great. The problem I'm having is how can I use $(this) in my say.. update.js.erb file to represent the link I clicked? I don't want to have to assign an ID to every one, then recompile that id in the callback script.. Nginx + PHP-FPM executes script, but returns 404

I am using Nginx + PHP-FPM to run a Wordpress based site. I have a URL that should return dynamically generated JSON data for use with the DataTables jQuery plugin. The data is returned properly, but with a return code of 404. I think this is a Nginx config issue, but I haven't been able to figure out why. The script 'getTable.php' works properly on the production version of the site which is currently using Apache. Anyone know how I can get this to work on Nginx? Other people have reported similar errors with other XML documents. The way I worked around this was to do a StreamReader.ReadToEnd, then do Regex.Replace on the result of that to yank out the script block, before passing the modified string to XmlReader.Create(). Feels like a hack. Has anyone got a better approach? I don't like this because I have to read in a 125k string into memory. Is it valid rss to include "complex content" like that - a script block inside an element?

Automating telnet with powershell
