  • How do I remove a <tr> with jQuery?

    - by George Edison
Okay, I am really stuck here. I have a table of tr's that have id's: #tr_xx where xx is a number. item is a number. The if(... part makes sure that what follows is only executed once at the end of all the animations. $('#tr_' + item + '>td').fadeOut('slow', function() { if($('#tr_' + item + '>td:animated').length === 0) { $(this).parent().remove(); // This function recolors the rows // -not really related to this Recolor(); } }); The problem is that the tr does not get deleted. It just gets hidden. How can I delete the <tr> and not just hide it?

  • jQuery treat hover on two elements as one elements

    - by davewilly
I have an image map which I have overlaid with some markers in the form of anchors. I currently have a hover trigger on each image map area and the associated anchor - as shown in screen shot I need to treat these two elements as one, as currently when mouse is moved out of one onto the other it calls .hover() and callback again. I want to call hover callback only when mouse is moved out of either elements.

  • Parsing plain data with Javascript (JQuery)

    - by Angelus
    Well , I have this text in a Javascript Var: GIMP Palette Name: Named Colors Columns: 16 # 255 250 250 snow (255 250 250) 248 248 255 ghost white (248 248 255) 245 245 245 white smoke (245 245 245) 220 220 220 gainsboro (220 220 220) 255 250 240 floral white (255 250 240) 253 245 230 old lace (253 245 230) 250 240 230 linen (250 240 230) 250 235 215 antique white (250 235 215) 255 239 213 papaya whip (255 239 213) And What I need is to cut it in lines and put them in one Array , after that i must separate each number and the rest in an string. I'm getting crazy searching functions to do that but now i can't see anyone in Javascript. modified End expected format will be first the next: array[0]='255 250 250 snow (255 250 250)' Then i wanna take it and extract each line into some vars to use them: colour[0]=255; colour[1]=250; colour[2]=250; string=snow (255 250 250); (the vars will be reused with each line)

  • jQuery animation loop not working

    - by Marko Ivanovski
    Hi, I'm trying to create a looping animation that starts on onmousedown and stops on onmouseout. The effect is a simple scroll that will continue looping until you release the mouse. I've created a function which performs the .animate method and it passes itself as a callback but the code only runs once. Here's the entire code: $(document).ready(function() { var $scroller = $("#scroller"); var $content = $("#content", $scroller); // lineHeight equal to 1 line of text var lineHeight = $content.css('line-height'); //Amount to scroll = 3 lines of text a time var amountToScroll = lineHeight.replace("px","")*3; var maxScroll = $content.height() - $scroller.height(); function scrollDown() { var topCoord = $content.css("top").replace("px",""); if(topCoord > -maxScroll) { if((-maxScroll-topCoord) > -amountToScroll) { $content.stop().animate({ top: -maxScroll }, 1000 ); } else { $content.stop().animate({ top: "-=" + amountToScroll }, 1000, function(){ scrollDown() } ); } } } function scrollUp() { var topCoord = $content.css("top").replace("px",""); if(topCoord < 0) { if(topCoord > -amountToScroll) { $content.stop().animate({ top: 0 }, 1000 ); } else { $content.stop().animate({ top: "+=" + amountToScroll }, 1000, function(){scrollUp()} ); } } } $("#scroll-down").mousedown(function() { scrollDown(); }); $("#scroll-down").mouseup(function() { $content.stop(); }); $("#scroll-up").mousedown(function() { scrollUp(); }); $("scroll-up").mouseup(function() { $content.stop(); }); });

  • Jquery attach show event to select option

    - by John
Hi, I have a select form element with 5 options. If option 2 is selected I want to display another form input box (this has a style of display:none initially). How can I attach an event to option 2 so that whenever it is selected the input box is shown otherwise it is hidden. I have this currently but this does not handle is option 2 is already selected when the page loads $('#type').change(function(){ var typeSelected = $(this).val(); if (typeSelected == 2) { $('#extraInput').show(); } }); I know I could add another bit of code which checks what is selected on page load but wondered if there was a neater way of doing this. Also something that could handle the hiding of the input box if option 2 is not selected at the start as currently I have just hard-coded style="display:none" onto the input box but I would prefer this to be dynamic. Thanks

  • Turn off Jquery UI Accordion animation only during page load

    - by Matt H
I'd like to turn off the accordian animation during page load, and then turn it back on after the page is loaded. Basically I've got multiple forms inside the accordion sections and when submitted the page gets reloaded and the relevant section is reloaded. But during the reload the animation is triggered which looks a little ugly. But I like it when the page is not being loaded. How do I achieve this effect?

  • jQuery: Circulate plugin: stopping midway in animation

    - by kelly
Has anyone had any luck in altering the plug-in code so that one might animate an object in "3d" space for only a 1/4 or 1/2 turn? As it stands, an object must complete a full circle before stopping or looping. And for those who haven't seen it yet: http://css-tricks.com/examples/Circulate/

  • Jquery remove and add back click event

    - by London
Is it possible to remove than add back click event to specific element? i.e I have a $("#elem").click(function{//some behaviour});, $(".elem").click(function{//some behaviour});(there are more than 1 element) while my other function getJson is executing I'd like to remove the click event from the #elem, and add it again onsuccess from getJson function, but preserve both mouseenter and mouseleave events the whole time? Or maybe create overlay to prevent clicking like in modal windows? is that better idea? edit : I've seen some really good answers, but there is one detail that I omitted not on purpose. There are more than one element, and I call the click function on the className not on elementId as I stated in the original question

  • Division of text follow the cursor via Javascript/Jquery

    - by webzide
Dear experts, I wanted have a dynamic division of content follow you with the cursor in the web browser space. I am not a pro at JS so I spent 2 hours to finally debugged a very stupid way to accomplish this. $(document).ready(function () { function func(evt) { var evt = (evt) ? evt : event; var div = document.createElement('div'); div.style.position = "absolute"; div.style.left = evt.clientX + "px"; div.style.top = evt.clientY + "px"; $(div).attr("id", "current") div.innerHTML = "CURSOR FOLLOW TEXT"; $(this).append($(div)); $(this).unbind() $(this).bind('mousemove', function () { $('div').remove("#current"); }); $(this).bind('mousemove', func); } $("body").bind('mousemove', func) }); As you can see this is pretty much Brute force and it slows down the browser quite a bit. I often experience a lag on the browser as a drag my mouse from one place to another. Is there a way to accomplish this easier and faster and more intuitive. I know you can use the cursor image technique but thats something I'm looking to avoid. Thanks in advance.
