  In Windows Server 2012 RTM, I am trying to run the BPA. It fails, saying "BPA scan did not complete for one or more servers" Try #1: Try #2: So, I decided to enable the Turn on Script Execution (with Allow all scripts) in Local Group Policy Editor, now I get a very nice exception message :) Clicking on ignore button, BPA logs the following error message: Try #3: So, I decided to go ahead and set the execution policy for all the scopes in PowerShell to unrestricted. Again no luck. What is going on?

• Server 2012 DFS New Member Issue

  I am trying to add a new member to our DFS topology. We have 3 DCs (VMs - VMware) running Windows server 2012, two servers are located in or Primary site and the third at our DR site. Currently the two servers at our primary site are currently replicating DFS (full mesh) and are working fine. I have tried several times to add the third DC to our DFS topology, every time i configure the replication path e.g E:\MSI and click ok the MMC snap in crashes. Below is the crash info, any idea what is causing this? What i am doing is fairly straight forward and don't see why this would be happening.   I am using Webalizer to view my site stats, and it's working ok with one exception; I have log rolling configured so my log directory looks something like this: :/var/log/apache2$ ls access.log access.log.1 access.log.2.gz access.log.3.gz ... Webalizer ends up only storing the last ~4 days each time it runs, so I only ever get a rolling window of stats rather than the full month. How can I make Webalizer process the full set of logs?

  My company's IT department is mostly a Windows run operation and in order to become more secure, they are altering the way that the Macintosh computers login to our internal network so that they use Active Directory like their Windows counterparts. I have been given Administrative permission on my Mac and I am able to do most of what I used to be able to do in terms of authentication of software installations. However, there is a problem: the "Software Update" feature doesn't work. What happens is that when I try to get the Mac to perform its Software Updates from the Apple menu, the normal window appears listing what has to be updated; I am able to select what to update and click the "Update" button, but then nothing happens. It doesn't ask for authentication like it used to, the computer doesn't perform any download or installation (it does sometimes ask me to agree to license agreements for iTunes). I can download the updates individually and install them without any issues, but the auto-update fails. I'd rather use the Software Update menu item like I used to: it is much more convenient. Any suggestions on how I can fix this? EDIT Nov 19th, 2009, 10:09 EST: I have posted this question to the Apple Mac OS X Snow Leopard support forum. EDIT Nov 19th, 2009, 12:39 EST:Yes, the Terminal command "sudo softwareupdate --install --all" does work flawlessly. I want to avoid that as my co-workers are generally not comfortable on the Mac. I also tried Chealion's suggestion to delete "~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist" and "/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist", Software Update still fails. However, I did get diagnostic messages in the Console (below). I've deleted the MS Office Package Receipts and examined the suhelperd (Software Update Helper Daemon?); it appears that suhelperd is crashing and that explains why it doesn't work.   Using Synergy-plus-1.3.4 on Gentoo Linux kernel 2.6.36-tuxonice-r3. Using SHIFT+CAPS to change keyboard layout on BOTH server and client boxes. Works perfectly if change layout using attached keyboard. But when using synergy keyboard (moved mouse from server screen to client and changing with SHIFT+CAPS) it has no effect. Synergy is just amazing thing exception this small issue which I'm assured is solvable. Please, gimme some hint.

  I have a mac environment our server is sharing an NFS mount Setup via Server Admin. Clients connect to the NFS mount at boot via The Directory Utility built into OSX... Everything works fine with one small exception, the NFS mount seems to timeout/dropout every now and then it seems random and requires a reboot to bring it back up? Has anyone else ran into this situation? Any fix would be appreciated.

  I just got a new Mac and am trying to setup a local Perl development environment. I'm using MAMP but also need the ImageMagick perl module installed in order to do some of the photo processing our scripts require. I tried installing ImageMagick manually but ran into some issues and after reading online a lot of people reported having issues going this route. The general consensus was to install it using MacPorts instead so I went ahead and installed MacPorts. Unfortunately, MacPorts can't seem to install it successfully either. • Centralized logging for JBoss / log4j? [closed]

  Does anyone have advice or a pointer to articles on how to centralize logs in JBoss? JBoss will log to syslog, which makes it easy, but doing so breaks multi line debug messages (and Jboss loves dropping exception stack traces in the logs). I can rsync the logs, but that isn't realtime. Log4j has appenders for TCP and multicast sockets, so it seems like something probably exists for streaming logs, but I haven't found a receiver for the data. Thanks

  We are running exchange 2010 and are using the built in anti-spam feature. We have set up Content Filtering, IP Block List Providers, Sender ID, Sender Reputation and it filters out most of the junk but it also quarantines all emails from one of our customers. It is being quarantined because of the Content Filter agent (Report Below). How can I add an exception for this email address to the Content Filter. I can see how to setup an exception for a delivery address ("Don't filter messages sent TO the following recipients") but I want to add [email protected] to our safe list. I don't want to add the whole domain as it is a very popular ISP in Australia and we often get junk from them.
