  One of the features of ASP.NET 4.0 is Route Expression builder which allows you to set up hyperlinks like this: <asp:HyperLink runat="server" NavigateUrl="<%$ RouteUrl:RouteName=productos,categoria=Cereales,id=2 %>" >Productos</asp:HyperLink> Now I'm wondering if I can use this sort of syntax inside a ListView Control, I know is possible, but the tricky thing is that I want to genereate de route key value dynamically. So instead to write id=2 I would like to write id=<%# Eval("CategoryID") % . Can I do that?, if so, how should I write it. Thanks for your help!

• Sending variables in URLs in PHP with echo

  Hi all, I can't really find good guidelines through google searches of the proper way to escape variables in URLs. Basically I am printing out a bunch of results from a mysql query in a table and I want one of the entries in each row to be a link to that result's page. I think this is easy, that I'm just missing a apostrophe or backslash somewhere, but I can't figure it out. Here's the line that's causing the error: echo "<a href = \"movies.php/?movie_id='$row['movie_id']'\"> Who Owns It? </a> "; and this is the error I'm getting: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE, expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or T_NUM_STRING If you could elaborate in your answers about general guidelines for working with echo and variables in urls, that would be great. • How to ignore the .classpath for Eclipse projects using Mercurial?

  I'm trying to share a repository between my Mac (laptop) and PC (desktop). There are some external dependencies for the project that are stored on different places on each machine, and noted in the .classpath file in the Eclipse project. When the project changes are shared, the dependencies break. I'm trying to figure out how to keep this from happening. I've tried using .hgignore with the following settings, among others, without success: syntax: glob *.classpath Based on this question, it appears that the .hgignore file will not allow Mercurial to ignore files that are also committed to the repository. Is there another way around this? Other ways to configure the project to make it work?

• Cocoa Screensaver Framework error message

  Hi, I'm trying to make a screen saver using the cocoa screensaver framework. The project builds fine and generates the .saver file, but when I try to run it in the preferences test window, it displays the error message: "You cannot use the screen saver with this version of Mac OSX. Please contact the vendor to get a newer version of the screen saver" I have the xcode settings to Release | x86_64, and I am running OSX 10.6.6 on a 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5 Macbook Pro. I've searched around online, and most of the solutions to this error message seem addressed to making sure the build is 64-bit, which the x86_64 setting should indeed take care of. I am trying to play a QT movie in the screensaver, if that makes any difference. I am at a loss, any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  There are 3 tables. Products, Options and Prod_Opts_relations. The latter holds product_id and option_id so i should be able to figure out which options are selected for any given product. Now i want to retrieve all options from the options table where the value of an extra alias field should hold checked or unchecked depending on the existance of a mathing record in the relations table for a give product id.   I've used mysql's update replace function before, but even though I think I'm following the same syntax, I can't get this to work-it matches the rows, but doesn't replace.   I am creating a custom Attribute (extending System.Attribute). I know I can put it on another class easily enough by doing the following. [MattsAttribute] public class SomeClassWhichIsACodeBehind { However, I need to be able to test this attribute easily, and putting it in the code-behind would cause a lot of extra effort to get it deployed to an environment which would respond to the behavior of attribute. What I would like to do: declaratively apply this attribute to the .aspx page itself (which is really just another class that inherits from the code-behind). Is this possible? If so, what is the proper syntax for doing this?

• Dojo: dijit.form.DropDownButton content not positioned correctly

  I have the following setup: <div dojoType="dijit.form.DropDownButton"> <span>Modify</span> <div dojoType="dijit.Menu"> <div dojoType="dijit.MenuItem">...</div> </div> </div> There is of course more to the final setup. The problem I Have is that if I scroll in the page, the popup menu under the DropDownButton comes much higher in the page. I suspect that it's subtracting the scrollOffset for the position off the popup, while in reality that is not needed. Anyone got any tips about how to fix this? I would prefer to use declerative html syntax for using Dojo widgets. == Fixed == I updated to dojo 1.4.2 and this got fixed then.

All the examples on the internet suggest doing something like The initial mysql> is just the prompt I get after logging in. mysql> mysqldump -u user -p pass myDBName | NewDBName.out; But when I do this I get You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds ... to use near 'mysqldump -u user -p pass myDBName | NewDBName.out' Since I have already logged in do I need to use -u and -p? Not doing so gives me the same error. Can you see what is wrong?

  I have an input text box for search of input, the id of the text box is: id="search". if a user enters 'cat' at first and hit search. In the function, I get the value 'cat' by using the syntax: var input = document.getElementById("search").value; After that, the user enter 'dog' in the search box and hit search using the same function. The function would assign 'dog' to the input variable. How would I compare the current value (dog) to the previously entered value (cat)? I have tried to assign the original input with a statement, something like var orig = input; but that would only overwrite the original input with the new input. What is the logical approach to this problem.

  I have a PHP login which sets 2 cookies once someone login. The problem is that if you login from http://www.example.com and you go to http://example.com, you will find yourself not logged in. I think that is because the browser only send the cookies to the first syntax. It is only one domain, the difference is the www. before the domain name, so how to set cookies to the whole domain whatever there is www. or not? <?php setcookie('username',$username,time()+3600); ?>

I have a struct: typedef struct{ int a; }myStruct; Then I have: myStruct tempStruct; I am trying to pass the struct to a class method whose implementation is: - (void) myFunc:(struct myStruct)oneOfMyStructs{}; I call the method like so: [myClass myFunc:(struct myStruct)tempStruct]; The compiler complains about "Conversion to non-scalar type requested." All I want to do is pass a struct into a class method, but the syntax has me a bit confused. I'm new to Objective-C. Please let me know if you can see where I'm going wrong.   I'm battling with this assignment :) I've got two classes: Ocean and Grid. When I declare an object of the Grid inside the Ocean: unsigned int sharkCount; Grid grid; The compiler/complainer says: error C2146: syntax error : missing ';' before identifier 'grid' Can you possibly predict what produces this error with the limited info I provided? It seems that as if the Ocean doesn't like the Grid class. Could this be because of the poor implementation of the grid class. BTW the Grid has a default constructor. Yet the error happens in compiling time!. EDIT: They're each in separate header file, and I've included the Grid.h in the Ocean.h.

  Hi, I use syntax like name varchar(20) NOT NULL in mysql..i have a big confusion over here. typically does it mean that this field is mandatory? but when i store a space in this field it accepts it.is it correct. its like while insert i say '".$_POST['name']."'. even if the name does not have any value query is executed. can any1 just clarify me on this ? is NULL and blank space same ?

  I am looking for a portable way to implement lazy evaluation in C++ for logging class. Let's say that I have a simple logging function like void syslog(int priority, const char *format, ...); then in syslog() function we can do: if (priority < current_priority) return; so we never actually call the formatting function (sprintf). On the other hand, if we use logging stream like log << LOG_NOTICE << "test " << 123; all the formating is always executed, which may take a lot of time. Is there any possibility to actually use all the goodies of ostream (like custom << operator for classes, type safety, elegant syntax...) in a way that the formating is executed AFTER the logging level is checked ?

  Hi there, Hoping this is a nice softball of a question for a friday but I have the following line of code: //System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException generated if there is no matching data currentAnswers = new CurrentAnswersCollection().Where("PARTICIPANT_ID", 10000).Load()[0]; CurrentAnswersCollection is a strongly-typed collection populated by a view going back to my database. The problem of course is that if there is not a corresponding PARTICIPANT_ID = 10000 I get the error message. Is there a better way to write this so that I wouldn't get the error message at all? I just dont know enough about LINQ syntax to know if I can test for the existance first? thanks.
