The idea would be to have a machine-readable archive of standard algorithms, with machine-readable annotations on trade-offs, and variants.   I have some philosophical feeling that adding to an entity fields which doesn't mapped to the DB is a wrong way of solving problems. But are there any concrete situations where using @Transient fields leads to implicit and hard fixing problems? For example, is it possible that adding/removing 2nd level cache will break our app when there are @Transient fields in our entities?

  I have a Perl script that calls aspnet_compiler.exe to compile a large ASP.NET website. The problem is that it takes very long to run. Is there any way to compile just a single .aspx file from the command line? (I think that would suit the needs of my script) It seems that all aspnet_compiler.exe can do is compile at a directory level.

• On a VPS that runs DB and IIS, should I limit the RAM used by SQL Server?

  I have a Windows 2008 R2 VPS with 1 GB of RAM. I'm using the VPS to run SQL Server 2008 Express and IIS 7.5. I've noticed that SQL Server tends to use as much memory as it can, to the detriment of other applications (and this makes sense with a server is dedicated to running SQL Server). Should I set a limit? If so, what would a reasonable level be?

  Hi, I am wanting to implement a multi-server specialised hosting environment. I currently have a cloud solution comprising of 3 centos boxes (2 lamp web servers, 1 mysql). What I am wanting to do is, implement a 5 server solution where they is 3 web servers, 1 mysql box and a fileshare. Basically I want the fileshare to host all the web files for the servers, the caching will remain on the individual servers and the sessions will be stored in mysql. • CruiseControl.Net allowForceBuild per project?
