• Can't append space at end of UITextView

  I have a UITextView in which I want the initial value to be "@username " (notice the space after the username). This way the user can start typing right away without having to tap space. So I do: textView.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"@%@ ", username]; But it seems like it's impossible to have the UITextView text property ending with a space (it always gets stripped out). Am I correct? Is there any workaround for this? I tried using the \s char and no success.

I know It can be done but I couldn't find a way to do it. Keep in mind that I'm updating the entries so I need to make sure that they always come between the header and the footer. I create a table below with an xml column and declare a variable, initialize it and Insert the Value into the xml column, create table CustomerInfo (XmlConfigInfo xml) declare @StrTemp nvarchar(2000) set @StrTemp = '<Test></Test>' insert into [CustomerInfo](XmlConfigInfo) values (@StrTemp) Then comes the part of the question,, if I write this... update [CustomerInfo] set XmlConfigInfo.modify('insert <Info></Info> into (//Test)[1]') -- Works Fine!!! but when I try this, set @StrTemp = 'insert <Info></Info> into (//Test)[1]' update [CustomerInfo] set XmlConfigInfo.modify(@StrTemp) -- Doesn't Work!!! and throws an error The argument 1 of the xml data type method "modify" must be a string literal. is there a way around for this one? I tried this, but it is not working :(

  Hi there, I'm pretty new to CakePHP and was missing a crucial feature not generated as scaffold: filtering. What do I have to do to provide dropdowns or multi-selects on the index pages for each field that is a (foreign) key, thereby allowing to filter the table ("OR" inside multi-select, "AND" between different multi-selects, if any)? From what my websearch has shown me there are many more people trying to accomplish the same thing, although I couldn't find anything that would work for me because either they have text fields and do wildcard filtering, or the plugins they propose only work for 1.2 whereas i now started with 1.3 etc. etc. Can someone alleviate the confusion and maybe present some working code or direct me to the definitive guide[tm] where this matter has been solved?   I have a single table called "Indexes", it contains one nvarchar and three ntext columns (all Full Text Indexes). Index is up to date. CONTAINSTABLE(Indexes, *), 'test', 5) //5 results No matter what I change the above keyword too, it only returns the first 3-5 results. It should roughly return 90-120 results, for the above query. SELECT count(*) FROM Indexes WHERE [Description] like '%test%' //122 results How would I start to troubleshoot this problem?

  Hello! i need to extract terms with highest frequencies from several lucene indexes, to use them for some semantic analysis. So, I want to get maybe top 30 most occuring terms(still did not decide on threshold, i will analyze results) and their per-index counts. I am aware that I might lose some precision because of potentionally dropped duplicates, but for now, lets say i am ok with that. So for the proposed solutions, (needless to say maybe) speed is not important, since I would do static analysis, I would put accent on simplicity of implementation because im not so skilled with Lucene (not the programming guru too :/ ) and cant wrap my mind around many concepts of it.. I can not find any code samples from something similar, so all concrete advices (code, pseudocode, links to code samples...) I will apretiate very much!!! Thank you!

I implemented an array-based approach where the children of node i (numbering in level-order traversal) were at the 2*i index for the left child and 2*i + 1 for the right child. The interviewer seemed more or less pleased, but I'm wondering what serialize means exactly? Does it specifically pertain to flattening the tree for writing to disk, or would serializing a tree also include just turning the tree into a linked list, say. Also, how would we go about flattening the tree into a (doubly) linked list, and then reconstructing it? Can you recreate the exact structure of the tree from the linked list? Thank you/

• Convert any currency string to double

  I need to store multiple currencies in SQL server. I understand that SQL won't support all different types of currencies (unless I store it as a string, but I don't want to do that). My idea was to convert all the values from their currency format to a standard double and store that instead. Then just re-format based on the culture info when displaying. However, I have tried doing something like e.g. var cultureInfo = new System.Globalization.CultureInfo("en-US"); double plain = return Double.Parse("$20,000.00", cultureInfo); This doesn't ever seem to work it always throws a FormatException. Even removing the currency symbol and just trying to do this based on the number alone does the same thing. This is just an example I want to support pretty much any type of currency. Is there a standard way of stripping out currency and getting the value as a double?

• PHP getimagesize with ampersand in string creates errors

  I'm using the getimagesize function in PHP, and the path string contains an ampersand, which otherwise is fine. The page gives me errors where getimagesize() is called. Looking at the source code, though, I see the ampersand is being passed through as & rather than just & I presume this is causing errors because PHP doesn't need to convert it to the html tag in order to find the path, right? Here is the error: Warning: getimagesize(image.php?name=username&pic=picture) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory

  Hi Stack Overflow, I have found a whole lot of different solutions to this problem, but not all of them work, and a lot of them seem somewhat hacky and inefficient. Basically I have a string of hexadecimal data (i.e. "55 AA 41 2A 00 94 55 AA BB BB 00 FF") which I would like to convert to raw data. What is the best way to do this?
