  • jquery + prepend text not working

    Hello, I have this following code: $(".preview").find("#panel").each(function(i, val) { var x = "" + $(val).html(); $(x).find(".dmPageHeadline").prepend(" 1 - "); console.log($(x).html()); html += $(x).html(); }); This code iterates through all accordion panels, concatenates its content and add " 1 - " to the header ( class "dmPageHeadline" ). Probably it's a simple detail, but i cannot figure it out... this line $(x).find(".dmPageHeadline").prepend(" 1 - "); doesn't preprend the desired text. Anyone can point me out what is wrong here?     Hi all, i have a problem with this code: var par = []; $('a[name]').each(function() { if (($(this).attr('name')).indexOf("searchword") == -1) { par.push($(this).attr('name')); $('.content').empty(); for (var i = 0; i < par.length; i++) { $(".content").append('<a id="par" href="#' + par[i] + '">' + par[i] + '</a><br />'); } } }); It causes ie and firefox to popup the warning window "Stop running this script". But it happens only when there is a very very large amount of data on page. Any ideas how to fix it?

    I have this line of code for page load: if ($("input").is(':checked')) { and it works fine when the radio button input is checked. However, I want the opposite. Something along the lines of if ($("input").not(.is(':checked'))) { so that my if statement runs when none of the radiobuttons are selected. What is the best way to go about this?

  • jquery updating a div in ajax diesnt work properly, when using a variable

    hi, i got the following code var zieldiv = $(this).attr(\'id\'); $.ajax({ url: \'index.php?params\', type: \'POST\', data: { color:thenewcolor, zieldiv:zieldiv }, timeout: 50000, beforeSend: function() { $("#" + zieldiv).css({background: "#" + thenewcolor} ); } }); I use this for dragging a small div into a bigger div. the variable at the beginnning would give out the string "test1". So in the ajax.thing the css of a div which matches the var zieldiv should be updatet. Problem is, if i would place a string instead a var into the $(...) like $("#test1") it acts like its supposed to, the #test1 gets updated. but if i use the var $("#" + zieldiv) the parent div, which is surrounding the #test1-div gets updated. but i know for sure the var zieldiv contains the string "test1", because when passing it to php it contains "test1". so i think this is a little strange. do you have any ideas? thanx, maschek

    Why would POST work but not GET? I'm not using [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)]. I'm calling this: public ActionResult GetTest(string key) { var test = new { HelpTest = key }; return Json(test); } And it works when I do this: $.post("/Home/GetTest", { key: options.key }, function(helpTest) { alert(helpTest.HelpTest); }); But not this: $.get("/Home/GetTest", { key: options.key }, function(helpTest) { alert(helpTest.HelpTest); }); Why would this be? Using GET returns an XMLHttpRequest.status of 500. What am I confused about?

I have a problem I really can't fix: I have a <table> of questions, the first question is visible (class:visible), the others are hidden (class:hidden) $(document).ready(function(){ $('.hidden').hide(); When people click on the first question, I want the second question to appear (and the first question to turn to grey, using a 'done' class). $('.visible:not(.done)').click(function(){ $(this).addClass('done'); $('.hidden:first').toggle(500).removeClass('hidden').addClass('visible'); }) The first question is now done (class:done) and the 2nd question should be the only one to react to a click(), and so on... But it doesn't work: the other <tr> appear only when I click on the 1st <tr>. Can someone give me a hand on this problem ? Thank you.

  • Does duplicate id's screw up jquery selectors?

    If I had two divs, both with id="myDiv" Would $("#myDiv").fadeOut(); fade both divs out? Or would it fade only the first/second? Or none at all? How do I change which one it fades out? Note: I know duplicate id's is against standards but I'm using the fancybox modal popup and it duplicates specified content on your page for the content of the popup. If anyone knows a way around this (maybe I'm using fancybox wrong) please let me know.

  • jquery easy image slider

    Using easy slider to scroll through Images . It's working occasionally (on a refresh), but more often not. The height of the slide and also the position get screwed up on load for seconds. This style was applied to the style="width: 1308px; height: 70px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;" I'm not sure where it's pulling those values from (height and width) the slide not expanding vertically to reveal the content and the slide being out of position horizontally. I have this style applied to #slider width:538px; height:auto; overflow:hidden; but they're not being passed correctly.
