  • jQuery: inherit functions to several objects

    - by Fuxi
    hi, i made several table-based-widgets (listview-kind-of) which all have the same characteristics: styling odd/even rows, hover on/off, set color onClick, deleting a row when clicking on trash-icon. so it's always the same (prototype-)code for each widget. is there a way to have the code only once then simply apply/inherit it to all widgets? 2nd, here's some of the code - could this be optimized? var me = this; $("tr",this.table).each(function(i) { var tr = $(this); tr.bind("mouseover",function(){me.hover(tr,true)}); tr.bind("mouseout",function(){me.hover(tr,false)}); tr.bind("click",function(){me.Click(tr)}); }); $("tr").filter(":odd").addClass("odd");

  • jQuery: manipulating through children to check the checkbox in a table row

    - by gsquare567
    $("tr.clickable").each(function() {$(this).click(function() { $(this).children("td:first > input").is(":checked") ? $(this).children("td:first > input").removeAttr("checked") : $(this).children("td:first > input").attr("checked","checked"); })}); this only checks the first row in my table (no matter which row i click on). how can i apply it so that it checks the input on the specific row i click on? thanks! HTML: <tr id="row0" class="alternate clickable"> <td><img width="11" height="11" title="This email failed to send." alt="Failed" src="images/error_warning.png"><br> <input type="checkbox" value="6751" name="emailCheck[]" class="emailCheck"> </td>...

  • HTML, jQuery Suggestion for a List

    - by AnApprentice
    Hello, I'm creating an app that will have a list of messages, each message can be either read or unread. Think GMAIL (though I'm not trying to rebuild that)... My question is when I output all these messages, I need to list if the message is read or unread, I also need to provide the ability to change the message status, from read to unread. That being said, how do you suggest I stored this? A checkbox, a hidden input value? Any thoughts? Thanks

  • Radio buttons not checked in jQuery

    - by kd7iwp
    I have this line of code for page load: if ($("input").is(':checked')) { and it works fine when the radio button input is checked. However, I want the opposite. Something along the lines of if ($("input").not(.is(':checked'))) { so that my if statement runs when none of the radiobuttons are selected. What is the best way to go about this?

  • jQuery success:function{} issue

    - by ufw
    I have several 'select' elements on the page. When I choose some of options, the ajax request is being sent to server and the element adjacent to this 'select' must be updated with response value. I expected the following code to be working: $(".vars").live("change", function() { //selected something in <select> list $.ajax({ type: "POST", url "someurl.php", data: {somedata}, success: function(html) { $this.next().html(html); //this does not update .next() element. } }); }); If I replace $(this).next().html(html); with alert(html); I can see the ajax request was successful. Moreover, it works only if there is only one 'select' on the page, otherwise the empty pop-up appears.

  • jQuery .hasClass method to omit effect

    - by Jonny Wood
    I've created a simple background effect for some tabs on a page but don't want that effect to fire if the tab has the class 'current'. I presume there is a way to do this using .hasClass Here's what I'm using for the effect: $('ul.htabs a').mouseover(function(){ $(this).stop().animate( {backgroundPosition:"(0 -810px)"}, {duration:150}, {easing: 'easeOutCubic'}) }).mouseout(function(){ $(this).stop().animate( {backgroundPosition:"(0 -806px)"}, {duration:150}, {easing: 'easeInCubic'}) });
