  • Stack Trace in error in Webpage in ASP not in my code?

    - by MarceloRamires
I'm new to web-development in ASP, and I'm experiencing a problem where I try to access a certain page through a link and I get an error, the first part says it's an exception, then tips on debugging and then the stacktrace. What happens is that this code isn't on my application, I've had errors like this before, and the peace of code that appeared usually helped me a lot.

  • What's an appropriate HTTP status code to return by a REST API service for a validation failure?

    - by michaeljoseph
I'm currently returning 401 Unauthorized whenever I encounter a validation failure in my Django/Piston based REST API application. Having had a look at the HTTP Status Code Registry I'm not convinced that this is an appropriate code for a validation failure, what do y'all recommend? 400 Bad Request 401 Unauthorized 403 Forbidden 405 Method Not Allowed 406 Not Acceptable 412 Precondition Failed 417 Expectation Failed 422 Unprocessable Entity 424 Failed Dependency Update: "Validation failure" above means an application level data validation failure ie. incorrectly specified datetime, bogus email address etc.

  • Python/Biophysics- Trying to code a simple stochastic simulation!

    - by user359597
Hey guys- I'm trying to figure out what to make of the following code- this is not the clear, intuitive python I've been learning. Was it written in C or something then wrapped in a python fxn? The code I wrote (not shown) is using the same math, but I couldn't figure out how to write a conditional loop. If anyone could explain/decipher/clean this up, I'd be really appreciative. I mean- is this 'good' python- or does it look funky? I'm brand new to this- but it's like the order of the fxns is messed up? I understand Gillespie's- I've successfully coded several simpler simulations. So in a nutshell- good code-(pythonic)? order? c? improvements? am i being an idiot? The code shown is the 'answer,' to the following question from a biophysics text (petri-net not shown and honestly not necessary to understand problem): "In a programming language of your choice, implement Gillespie’s First Reaction Algorithm to study the temporal behaviour of the reaction A---B in which the transition from A to B can only take place if another compound, C, is present, and where C dynamically interconverts with D, as modelled in the Petri-net below. Assume that there are 100 molecules of A, 1 of C, and no B or D present at the start of the reaction. Set kAB to 0.1 s-1 and both kCD and kDC to 1.0 s-1. Simulate the behaviour of the system over 100 s." def sim(): # Set the rate constants for all transitions kAB = 0.1 kCD = 1.0 kDC = 1.0 # Set up the initial state A = 100 B = 0 C = 1 D = 0 # Set the start and end times t = 0.0 tEnd = 100.0 print "Time\t", "Transition\t", "A\t", "B\t", "C\t", "D" # Compute the first interval transition, interval = transitionData(A, B, C, D, kAB, kCD, kDC) # Loop until the end time is exceded or no transition can fire any more while t <= tEnd and transition >= 0: print t, '\t', transition, '\t', A, '\t', B, '\t', C, '\t', D t += interval if transition == 0: A -= 1 B += 1 if transition == 1: C -= 1 D += 1 if transition == 2: C += 1 D -= 1 transition, interval = transitionData(A, B, C, D, kAB, kCD, kDC) def transitionData(A, B, C, D, kAB, kCD, kDC): """ Returns nTransition, the number of the firing transition (0: A->B, 1: C->D, 2: D->C), and interval, the interval between the time of the previous transition and that of the current one. """ RAB = kAB * A * C RCD = kCD * C RDC = kDC * D dt = [-1.0, -1.0, -1.0] if RAB > 0.0: dt[0] = -math.log(1.0 - random.random())/RAB if RCD > 0.0: dt[1] = -math.log(1.0 - random.random())/RCD if RDC > 0.0: dt[2] = -math.log(1.0 - random.random())/RDC interval = 1e36 transition = -1 for n in range(len(dt)): if dt[n] > 0.0 and dt[n] < interval: interval = dt[n] transition = n return transition, interval if __name__ == '__main__': sim()

  • Custom Filter Problem?

    - by mr.lost
    greetings all,iam using spring security 3 and i want to perform some logic(saving some data in the session) when the user is visiting the site and he's remembered so i extended the GenericFilterBean class and performed the logic in the doFilter method then complete the filter chain by calling the chain.doFilter method,and then inserted that filter after the remember me filter in the security.xml file? but there's a problem is the filter is executed on each page even if the user is remembered or not is there's something wrong with the filter implementation or the position of the filter? and i have a simple question,is the filter chain by default is executed on each page? and when making a custom filter should i add it to the web.xml too? the filter class: package projects.internal; import java.io.IOException; import javax.servlet.FilterChain; import javax.servlet.ServletException; import javax.servlet.ServletRequest; import javax.servlet.ServletResponse; import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest; import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse; import org.springframework.beans.factory.annotation.Autowired; import org.springframework.security.core.Authentication; import org.springframework.security.core.context.SecurityContextHolder; import org.springframework.web.filter.GenericFilterBean; import projects.ProjectManager; public class rememberMeFilter extends GenericFilterBean { private ProjectManager projectManager; @Autowired public rememberMeFilter(ProjectManager projectManager) { this.projectManager = projectManager; } @Override public void doFilter(ServletRequest req, ServletResponse res, FilterChain chain) throws IOException, ServletException { System.out.println("In The Filter"); Authentication auth = (Authentication) SecurityContextHolder .getContext().getAuthentication(); HttpServletResponse response = ((HttpServletResponse) res); HttpServletRequest request = ((HttpServletRequest) req); // if the user is not remembered,do nothing if (auth == null) { chain.doFilter(request, response); } else { // the user is remembered save some data in the session System.out.println("User Is Remembered"); chain.doFilter(request, response); } } } the security.xml file: <beans:beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/security" xmlns:beans="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd http://www.springframework.org/schema/security http://www.springframework.org/schema/security/spring-security-3.0.xsd"> <global-method-security pre-post-annotations="enabled"> </global-method-security> <http use-expressions="true" > <remember-me data-source-ref="dataSource"/> <intercept-url pattern="/" access="permitAll" /> <intercept-url pattern="/images/**" filters="none" /> <intercept-url pattern="/scripts/**" filters="none" /> <intercept-url pattern="/styles/**" filters="none" /> <intercept-url pattern="/p/login" filters="none" /> <intercept-url pattern="/p/register" filters="none" /> <intercept-url pattern="/p/forgot_password" filters="none" /> <intercept-url pattern="/p/**" access="isAuthenticated()" /> <custom-filter after="REMEMBER_ME_FILTER" ref="rememberMeFilter" /> <form-login login-processing-url="/j_spring_security_check" login-page="/p/login" authentication-failure-url="/p/login?login_error=1" default-target-url="/p/dashboard" authentication-success-handler-ref="myAuthenticationHandler" always-use-default-target="false" /> <logout/> </http> <beans:bean id="myAuthenticationHandler" class="projects.internal.myAuthenticationHandler" /> <beans:bean id="rememberMeFilter" class="projects.internal.rememberMeFilter" > </beans:bean> <authentication-manager alias="authenticationManager"> <authentication-provider> <password-encoder hash="md5" /> <jdbc-user-service data-source-ref="dataSource" /> </authentication-provider> </authentication-manager> </beans:beans> any help?

  • If it is possible to auto-format code before and after a source control commit, checkout, diff, etc.

    - by dennisjtaylor
If it is possible to auto-format code before and after a source control commit, checkout, diff, etc. does a company really need a standard code style? It feels like standard coding style debates that have been raging since programming began like "put the bracket on the following line" or "properly indent your (" are no longer essential. I realize in languages where white space matters the diff will have to consider it but for languages where the style is a personal preference is there really a need to worry about it anymore?

  • Is it possible to debug GWT client code on a REMOTE server using IntelliJ 9 Community Edition?

    - by Nadav
I'm trying to move our Google Web Toolkit (GWT) development from Eclipse to IntelliJ 9 Community edition. So far I've been able to run and debug client/server code successfully via the GWT Maven plugin and its embedded Jetty container. However, I'm having trouble debugging client code when it is already running on a remote machine (and hence there's no need for the embedded Jetty container). Has anyone been successful at achieving this? Any help would be appreciated!

  • What does this code do? Recursive Iterator in php?

    - by Ali
I'm working on a zend framework based email project and I'm following some code samples online.. I can't understand this line of code which apparently loops through different 'parts' of an email message. I have no idea how it works btw and suspect that theres some error taking place which my parser isn't showing right. foreach (new RecursiveIteratorIterator($mail->getMessage($i)) as $ii=>$part) what does the above foreach loop mean?

  • How to 'code collapse' wiki syntax on Notepad++ (or any other text editor)?

    - by meiryo
I'm familiar with Notepad++'s code collapse for certain programming languages but recently I've been working with a plain text file that uses with Wiki syntax. For example: ==Heading1== Content ===Heading2=== Content ===Heading3=== Content ==Heading1.1== into (when I collapse Heading1): ==Heading1== ==Heading1.1== I want to be able to collapse these headings and all their contents down at different levels, much like how Notepad++ can collapse tags in HTML, hiding all other tags inside it. I think that's as clear as I explain it any suggestions?

  • Is it possible to see the source code of the violating files in Hudson with Violations and Pylint?

    - by copelco
I'm using Hudson CI with a Python project. I've installed the Violations plugin and configured it to run the code against pylint. This works, but I only see a list of violations without linking to the source code. Is it possible to setup Violations and pylint to load and highlight the violating source files (something similar to the Cobertura Coverage Reports)? Better yet, can Violations integrate with pep8.py?

  • How can I use wildcard urls with Code Igniter?

    - by tarnfeld
I am building a system that has urls like app.com/login and app.com/dothing but it will also have app.com/xOldP. The web application is build using the latest version of Code Igniter and I was wondering if there was a way to add a check in, that if the url is a controller then do that and finish, but if not, do something else (which will check the url and if its not real 404, which I can do). I was wondering how annoying this would be :/ Some sample code or links would be great!

  • Bad method names and what it says about code structure.

    - by maxfridbe
(Apologies in advance if this is a re-post but I didn't find similar posts) What bad method name patterns have you seen in code and what did it tell you about the code. For instance, I keep seeing: public void preform___X___IfNecessary(...); I believe that this is bad because the operation X has an inversion of conditions. Note that this is a public method because classes methods might legitimately require private helpers like this

    - by lost
Is there anyway Encryption on an unidentified file can be broken(file in question: config file and log files from ardamax keylogger). These files date back all the way to 2008. I searched everywhere, nothing on slashdot, nothing on google. Ardamax Keyviewer? Should I just write to Ardamax? I am at a loss of what to do. I feel comprimised. Anyone managed to decrpyt files with Crypto-analysis?

  • Using Ruby/Python code in an iPhone OS app?

    - by igul222
My app needs to use a library which is only available for Python and Ruby. From my understanding, Apple allows Ruby to run on iPhone as long as users can't execute arbitrary code (Rhomobile uses Ruby). How can I bundle Ruby/Python with my app, call a function from my Obj-C code, and get the result (a string) back in C or Obj-C format?
