    - by singlepoint
Hi, I am unable to open Gmail/Facebook/Hotmail on Firefox/IE on Widows 7 Home. I just unboxed a brand new hp laptop with Norton Security Suite running inside. I get following error message on Firefox. Please help. The connection has timed out The server at www.google.com is taking too long to respond. * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web

  • Cannot access internal website after being connected to other network

    - by Dandroid
I have a client who claim they cannot access their internal website when they have e.g. been out traveling. They have to reset their browser settings every time to be able to get access again. As they live on another continent and timezone it's hard for me to run live tests with them to see what changes in their browser settings. My first guess would be it's some sort of Proxy related issue, but I want to know if there could be other reasons for this? It's not the LAN itself, that we are sure of. It's browser specific only. Edit It's worth mentioning that it only happens when they turn off/restart their computers.

I have two classes X and Y, like this: class X implements Serializable { int val1; Y val2; } class Y implements Serializable { int val; } I want to transmit an object of type X from a client to server but i can't because the class X has a field of type Y. I replace the field of type Y with a field of type X in class X and it works.

  • New Comer to JS Looking for Guidance

    - by New Coder
I'm fairly new to JavaScript. Can anyone share some good advice on getting started? I have a little experience in ActionScript 3 and have taken a few Java classes toward my CS degree but my background is of a designer transitioning into development. My goal is to become a well rounded front-end developer and I'd like to move beyond the simple slideshow animations and rollover effects. Any guidance/wisdom will be much appreciated!

  • What is the cost of object creating.

    - by Tony
Hi If I have to choose between static method and creating an instance and use instance method, I will choose static methods always. but what is the detailed overhead of creating an instance? for example I saw a DAL which can be done with static classes but they choose to make it instance now in the BLL at every single call they call something like. new Customer().GetData(); how far this can be bad? Thanks

Hi, On this site I found a lot of cool examples of PHP OOP. Maybe you know where to find complete examples? Guest books, registration forms, blog... When I look at the full model is much easier to understand OOP PHP. As different classes interacting with each other, exchange data How to use the generic class for sending data to the database Thanks

  • Where does that randomness come from ?

    - by Jules Olléon
I'm working on a data mining research project and use code from a big svn. Apparently one of the methods I use from that svn uses randomness somewhere without asking for a seed, which makes 2 calls to my program return different results. That's annoying for what I want to do, so I'm trying to locate that "uncontrolled" randomness. Since the classes I use depend on many other, that's pretty painful to do by hand. Any idea how I could find where that randomness comes from ?

  • Disable address bar in Internet Explorer 9

    - by token
I'm trying to disable the address bar in IE9. I've done a significant amount of searching on this and just can't seem to find a way to make it happen. A lot of web resources discuss how to do it in IE8, but not IE9. The reason you might ask? I have an application being hosted in a remote desktop farm that links to web pages outside of the application into Internet Explorer. I need to ensure users are limited to just going to the pages the program pushes them to. I realize I could use a proxy server to limit where they can go, but I'm trying to find a really simple way to just disable the address bar instead. I can't use Kiosk mode because it puts the browser into full screen mode. This won't work for my situation as I need to give users what appears to be a regular browsing experience without an address bar.

  • Spring @Transactional Annotation Best Practice

    - by Thomas Einwaller
We are currently discussing the Best Practice for placing the @Transactional annotations in our code. Do you place the @Transactional in the DAO classes and/or their methods or is it better to annotate the Service classed which are calling using the DAO objects? Or does it make sense to annotate both "layers"?

  • Nginx return 444 depending on upstream response code

    - by Mark
    I have nginx setup to pass to an upstream using proxy pass. The upstream is written to return a 502 http response on certain requests, rather then returning the 502 with all the header I would like nginx to recoginse this and return 444 so nothing is returned. Is this possible? I also tried to return 444 on any 50x error but it doesn't work either. location / { return 444; } location ^~ /service/v1/ { proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:3333; proxy_next_upstream error timeout http_502; error_page 500 502 503 504 /50x.html; } location = /50x.html { return 444; } error_page 404 /404.html; location = /404.html { return 444; }

  • What's the Flash equivalent of FlexEvent.CREATION_COMPLETE

    - by John
I'm moving some Flex classes to pure Flash/AS3 to be part of a shared library. I have an event listener on FlexEvent.CREATION_COMPLETE to create and add display-objects once things are running, but I don't know the right way to do this in Flash? edit: Maybe if my class subclasses Sprite rather than a Flex class, I can add children in the constructor, I don't need to wait for a "construction complete" event?

    - by yeraycaballero
Since there isn't respositories for value objects. How can I load all value objects? Suppose we are modeling a blog application and we have this classes: Post (Entity) Comment (Value object) Tag (Value object) PostsRespository (Respository) I Know that when I save a new post, its tags are saving with it in the same table. But how could I load all tags of all posts. Has PostsRespository got a method to load all tags? I usually do it, but I want to know others opinions

  • Fully secured gateway web sites

    - by SeaShore
Hello, Are there any web sites that serve as gateways for fully encrypted communication? I mean sites with which I can open a secured session, and then to exchange through them with other sites in a secure way both URLs and content? Thanks in advance. UPDATE Sorry for not being clear. I was wondering if there was a way to access any site over the Internet (http or https) without letting any Intranet-proxy read the requested URL or the received content. My question is whether such a site exists, e.g.: I am connected to that site via https, I send it a URL in a secured way, the site gets the content from the target site (possibly in a non-secured way) and returns to me the requested content in a secured way.

  • Exposing members or make them private in Python?

    - by deamon
Is there a general convention about exposing members in Python classes? I know that this is a case of "it depends", but maybe there is a rule of thumb. Private member: class Node: def __init__(self): self.__childs = [] def add_childs(self, *args): self.__childs += args node = Node() node.add_childs("one", "two") Public member: class Node2: def __init__(self): self.childs = [] node2 = Node2() node2.childs += "one", "two"

  • Best practice - Accessing preferences globally

    - by JK
User preferences for my app is store in NSUserDefaults. This includes a "theme" preference, which needs to be accessed frequently by multiple classes. I would prefer not to call "[[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] objectForKey:..." repeatedly as it makes for inconcise code and I assume will incur overhead. What is the preferred and most concise method for accessing preferences in any class?
