  • Graphics on ubuntu 12.04 not working

    I've got a new build specs: i5 3570k gigabyte z77 d3h Using integrated graphics I've managed to install Ubuntu 12.04 with the alternate installer, and to get video with the nomodeset option on grub screen. However when I log in, I only get the 4:3 display option. I can't get it to change. Under the settings:details tab it recognizes the hd4000 integrated graphics. Hoping someone could help!

[checked] using X.Org x server - AMD/ATI display driver wrapper from xserver-xorg-video-ati (open source, tested) [uncheck] using video driver for the amd graphic accelerators from fglrx propertery [uncheck] same the above and fglrx-updates is ok with Checked? i wants to know, thanks

  • Is there a way to revert my Lubuntu to the "Previous Linux version" at the boot menu

    Today, after some auto upgrade i think, my Lubuntu boot to a blank wallpaper and wrong graphich display. If I boot my computer again, instead of select the first line in the boot menu, I select "previous linux version" and select one old version in the list then my computer boot fine. Now, is there a way to revert my linux to that version? Or I will always have to select this when I boot? Thank you very much

    How can I override the close button near minimize/maximize in such a way that the application doesn't automatically close. I want it to show an exit screen or something like this, so I would like to be able to delay the close and display something on the screen when I press the red close button. At first I thought that I should override the OnExiting() method, but I couldn't get it working. This is my first attempt at creating a fully functional game, so I have no previous experience in game development nor with XNA.

  • view switcher in window

    I used to have button in my file viewer window that allowed me to easily change from list to compact to icons, which was really convenient. Now, in 12.04 (running gnome fallback mode to mostly keep my original layout) I don't have that anymore, I have to go to 'view' and then at the bottom of the menu choose the way I want to display the files. Any way to get this switcher back? In its place I just have a search function and buttons that I don't need and never use.

Lets say the page loads, and a script inserts certain key words that the ad network uses to search their inventory of adverts and assigns the nearest one with matching tags to the publisher advert area? I know Google's adsense and many other similar services index/reads the pages content and then assign certain advert depending on the content with little or no control by the publisher...     In my html page, I have a header and its position is fixed. In the contant or body of the page I have an Iframe to display a youtube video and other DIV tabs. In other browsers like chrome, Morzilla etc all the contants schrolls behind the header and works fine!!. But In IE (IE 11), only the youtube video in Iframe scrolls over/aboves the header. How can I make it to scroll behind the header in IE. Thank in advance

    What i am trying to accomplish is have a randomly created number move around the screen but it is touchable. I am planning to have lots of numbers on the screen, so my question is what class is appropriate to use, so I could set a number randomly at run time and display it while it moves around the screen? I was planning the use a TextView, since I want to use a custom font of mine but I think creating a bunch at a time could cause a memory problem and to my understanding they cant move around the screen at runtime.

  • How can I choose which menubar indicators are shown in 12.04?

    I'd like to be able to tweak the set of shortcuts on the right side of the menubar in 12.04 (e.g. remove the email shortcut, remove the wifi shortcut on my laptop, add a lock screen shortcut so I can lock the screen with a single click rather than facing the choice between two clicks and Ctrl-Alt-L). Is this possible? The only thing I can find to configure in the settings is the date/time display.
