  • Jquery recursive selector

    - by Mazzi
    Hi There, I have whole bunch of <div class="productlistname"><a href="#">The Text!</a></div>. What I want to do go through all .productlistname and truncate the text and replace the current text with the truncated version. Here is what I have so far: $(".productlistname a").html($(".productlistname a").html().substring(0,10)); This just truncate the first one and replaces the rest of .productlistname with the truncated version of the first one.

  • Jquery 3d image carousel - IE6 transparency

    - by jsims281
    I'm using the 3d image carousel available at http://www.professorcloud.com/mainsite/carousel.htm . It's great but I've hit a wall with regards to transparency support for IE6. As the images are being manipulated by java after they are loaded, it's quite a headache. All the mainstream png fixes fail in one way or another...either breaking the carousel or being broken by the animation of the carousel. Does anybody have any ideas on how I can get round this (without using PNG8, .gif etc).

  • Add class to .hover functionality on a specific class name - jQuery

    - by marcamillion
    So, throughout my entire document, I would like for every single time the user hovers over an element with a specific class name, I would like a class to be added. My CSS looks like this: .hotspot:hover, .hotspothover { border: 4px solid #fff; box-shadow: 0px 0px 20px #000; -webkit-box-shadow: 0px 0px 20px #000; -moz-box-shadow: 0px 0px 20px #000; z-index: 1; } Class name: "hotspot". I tried this, but it doesn't seem to work: $("#hotspot.hover #hotspothover").addClass("bubble bottom"); Thanks.

    - by liz
    i have a table of data: <table id="disparities" class="datatable"> <thead> <tr> <th scope="col">Events</th> <th scope="col">White</th> <th scope="col">Black</th> <th scope="col">Hispanic</th><th scope="col">Asian/Pacific Islands</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <th scope="row">Hospitalizations</th> <td>0.00</td> <td>20</td> <td>10</td> <td>5</td> </tr> <tr> <th scope="row">ED Visits</th> <td>19</td> <td>90</td> <td>40</td> <td>18</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> i have a function that retrieves the values from the above table into an array like so (0.00,19) var points1 = $('#disparities td:nth-child(2)').map(function() { return $(this).text().match(/\S+/)[0]; }).get(); i want to check if there is a 0.00 value (or it could be just 0) and change that value to NA... so my resulting array is then (NA,19) not really sure how to go about this, whether in the initial match or as a separate action...

  • jQuery .get appends an unknown variable to URL

    - by ILMV
    I'm using this code as the starting point to an overhaul of our JavaScript framework: $("#get").click(function(){ $("#result").html(ajax_load); $.get( "http://www.google.com", {}, function(responseText){ $("#result").html(responseText); }, "html" ); }); But when the request is made it includes a variable within the URL that I am unfarmiliar with, here is what Firebug says it's requesting: http://www.google.com/?_=1268993359215 How do I get rid of this, when we target our internal scripts it's firing a 404 error :-( Cheers!

  • JQuery Cycle Plugin hover when paused issue, activeSlide

    - by user202141
    Almost all is dialed in except then I click the pause/play button, the current activeSlide div doesn't fade in on rollover like the other slides do. Bit at a loss to figure out why it's not allowing hover even though it works when the cycle is not manually paused (i.e. when just rolling over the pager numbers). Thanks for any guidance! http://www.xtracycle.com/home-test-a-rooney

  • jquery intercept

    - by zurna
    In another question's discussion, I became aware of intercepting clicks and updating area without refreshing the whole page. Problem is, the following code seems correct to me and I dont receive any errors but data taken from another page is not displayed at all. Please advise. main page $('ul.thumbs li.pagination a').live('click', function() { var pageNumber = parseInt($(this).text().replace(/[^0-9]/g, '')); $(function ViewImages() { $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "/FLPM/cp/images.cs.asp?Process=ViewImages&PAGEID=" + pageNumber, success: function(data) { $("#ViewImages").html(data); }, error: function (XMLHttpRequest, textStatus, errorThrown) { $("#ViewImages").html('.'); } }); }); return false; }); <div id="ViewImages"> </div> page where data lays <ul class="thumbs"> <li> <a href="#" class="thumb"><img src="/FLPM/media/news/images/5P2B4K5M_sm.jpg" alt="Forest Flowers" class="floatLeft" /></a> <br /> <a href="?Process=DeleteImage&IMAGEID=21" class="thumb"><span class="floatLeft">DELETE</span></a> </li> <li> <a href="#" class="thumb"><img src="/FLPM/media/news/images/6Z3L5U6W_sm.jpg" alt="Forest" class="floatLeft" /></a> <br /> <a href="?Process=DeleteImage&IMAGEID=20" class="thumb"><span class="floatLeft">DELETE</span></a> </li> <li> <a href="#" class="thumb"><img src="/FLPM/media/news/images/8O5A7J8M_sm.jpg" alt="Dock" class="floatLeft" /></a> <br /> <a href="?Process=DeleteImage&IMAGEID=19" class="thumb"><span class="floatLeft">DELETE</span></a> </li> <li> <a href="#" class="thumb"><img src="/FLPM/media/news/images/9Q6B3Q4S_sm.jpg" alt="Desert Landscape" class="floatLeft" /></a> <br /> <a href="?Process=DeleteImage&IMAGEID=18" class="thumb"><span class="floatLeft">DELETE</span></a> </li> <li> <a href="#" class="thumb"><img src="/FLPM/media/news/images/5B2N4W5Z_sm.jpg" alt="Creek" class="floatLeft" /></a> <br /> <a href="?Process=DeleteImage&IMAGEID=17" class="thumb"><span class="floatLeft">DELETE</span></a> </li> <li class="pagination">1.&nbsp;</li> <li class="pagination"><a href="2">2.</a>&nbsp;</li> </ul>

  • Calling and writing jquery/javascript functions

    - by Ankur
    I think I have not got the syntax correct for writing a javascript function and calling it to assign its return value to a variable. My function is: getObjName(objId){ var objName =""; $.ajax( { type : "GET", url : "Object", dataType: 'json', data : "objId="+objId, success : function(data) { objName = data; } }); return objName; } I am trying to call it and assign it to a variable with: var objName = getObjName(objId); However Eclipse is telling me that "the function getObjName(any) is undefined"

  • jquery get the index of a row?

    - by KnockKnockWhosThere
    I'm trying to write a function that will do something if the the row index is 0, and then something else if the row index is greater than 0. The zero part is working, but I can't figure out the syntax for rows that have an index greater than 0. For the tr[0] row, I'm doing this: if($("#mytable > tbody > tr ").index(0)) { ... I tried: if($("#mytable > tbody > tr ").index() > 0 ) { But, that didn't work?

  • jquery delegate table rows selector

    - by Jackob
    I have a table which may contains other inner tables (it's not possible to edit generated markup). I want to create a delegate function for row mouseenter and mouseleave which only triggers for the associated main table rows (and not inner tables rows), as following: $("#tableid").delegate("tr", "mouseenter mouseleave", function(e) { //do stuff here }); But with this selector it selects also the inner table rows, so how can I modify the selector to avoid selecting inner table rows?

  • jQuery - Finding the element index relative to its container

    - by Hary
    Here's my HTMl structure: <div id="main"> <div id="inner-1"> <img /> <img /> <img /> </div> <div id="inner-2"> <img /> <img class="selected" /> <img /> </div> <div id="inner-3"> <img /> <img /> <img /> </div> </div> What I'm trying to do is get the index of the img.selected element relative to the #main div. So in this example, the index should be 4 (assuming 0 based index) and not 1. My usual way to go about getting indexes is using $element.prevAll().length but, obviously, that will return the index relative to the #inner-2 div. I've tried using $('img.selected').prevAll('#main').length but that's returning 0 :/

  • Is there a JQuery DOM manipulator/CSS selector equivalent class in PHP?

    - by DKinzer
    I know that I can use DOMDocument and DOMXPath to manipulate XML files. But, I really love JQuery, and it would be great if there was something more like JQuery in the PHP world that I could use for sever side DOM manipulation. NOTE: I'm only interested here in how JQuery Selects and Manipulates the DOM, not all the other parts of JQuerry (I guess you can say just the Pop and the Sizzle parts).

  • tabs using jquery

    - by sea_1987
    I currently have a tabbed system in place, however it not doing exactly as I need it too, I was hoping that by navigating to the URL with #tab2 suffixed on then end it would navigate to my tabbed page and the tab that is present in the URL would be the one that is active, however the first tab in the sequence is always active, is there a way to check what is being passed in the URL first and if there is #tabid present then make that tab the current tab? My javascript currently looks like this, $(".tab_content").hide(); //Hide all content $("ul.tabNavigation li.shortlist").addClass("active").show(); //Activate first tab (in this case second because of floats) $(".tab_content#shortlist").show(); //Show first tab content //On Click Event $("ul.tabNavigation li").click(function() { $("ul.tabNavigation li").removeClass("active"); //Remove any "active" class $(this).addClass("active"); //Add "active" class to selected tab $(".tab_content").hide(); //Hide all tab content var activeTab = $(this).find("a").attr("href"); //Find the href attribute value to identify the active tab + content $(activeTab).fadeIn(); //Fade in the active ID content return false; });

  • jQuery color plugin: onMouseOver animation causes flickering in FF3.5.5

    - by rt-uk
    I'm trying to change the background color of a div on mouseover and mouseout. Instant change to yellow on MouseOver, and slow fade on MouseOut. function hilightel(keydiv) { $('#'+keydiv).animate({ backgroundColor: '#ffffd3' },1); } function lolightel(keydiv) { $('#'+keydiv).animate({ backgroundColor: '#ffffff' },300); } < div onMouseOver=javascript:highlightel('item1'); onMouseOut=javascript:lolightel('item1'); id='item1'CONTENT< /div When the mouse moves over text within the div, though, it thinks I've moused-out and so flickers badly. Alternatives that don't work: - animateToClass doesn't support background-color so I'm using the 'color' plugin - I hear that switchClass doesn't work in Chrome - Can't use .hover because their will be dynamically named divs in the page so need a general function Thanks in advance...
