  • Track Pedestrians

    - by 2vision2
I am using OpenCV sample code “peopledetect.cpp” to detect and track pedestrians. The code uses HoG for feature extraction and SVM for classification. Please find the reference paper used here. The camera is mounted on the wall at a height of 10 feet and 45 degree down. There is no restriction on the pedestrian movement within the frame. I want to track the detected pedestrians’ movement within the frame. The issue I am facing is pedestrians are detected only in the middle region of the frame as most of the features are not visible as soon as the pedestrian enters the frame region. I want to track each person’s movement in the entire frame region. How to do it? Is tracking required? Can anyone give any reference to blogs/codes?

  • Global Import Aliasing in .NET

    - by Josh Stodola
Using import aliasing in a single class, we can reference class library namespaces by assigning our own custom alias like this: Imports Db = Company.Lib.Data.Objects And then we are able to reference the classes inside of Company.Lib.Data.Objects by using the Db alias that we assigned. Is it possible to do this at the global level so that the alias is applied to the entire solution instead of the given file? Currently, we are working with web applications, so I was hoping we could add something to web.config, but I am also interested in whether or not this is possible with windows forms, console apps, and/or class libraries.

  • Char C question about encoding signed/unsigned.

    - by drigoSkalWalker
Hi guys. I read that C not define if a char is signed or unsigned, and in GCC page this says that it can be signed on x86 and unsigned in PowerPPC and ARM. Okey, I'm writing a program with GLIB that define char as gchar (not more than it, only a way for standardization). My question is, what about UTF-8? It use more than an block of memory? Say that I have a variable unsigned char *string = "My string with UTF8 enconding ~ çã"; See, if I declare my variable as unsigned I will have only 127 values (so my program will to store more blocks of mem) or the UTF-8 change to negative too? Sorry if I can't explain it correctly, but I think that i is a bit complex. NOTE: Thanks for all answer I don't understand how it is interpreted normally. I think that like ascii, if I have a signed and unsigned char on my program, the strings have diferently values, and it leads to confuse, imagine it in utf8 so.

  • Can this be done using LINQ/Lambda, C#3.0

    - by Newbie
Objective: Generate dates based on Week Numbers Input: StartDate, WeekNumber Output: List of dates from the Week number specified till the StartDate i.e. If startdate is 23rd April, 2010 and the week number is 1, then the program should return the dates from 16th April, 2010 till the startddate. The function public List<DateTime> GetDates(DateTime startDate, int weeks) { List<DateTime> dt = new List<DateTime>(); int days = weeks * 7; DateTime endDate = startDate.AddDays(-days); TimeSpan ts = startDate.Subtract(endDate); for (int i = 0; i <= ts.Days; i++) { DateTime dt1 = endDate.AddDays(i); dt.Add(dt1); } return dt; } I am calling this function as DateTime StartDate = DateTime.ParseExact("20100423", "yyyyMMdd", System.Globalization.CultureInfo.InvariantCulture); List<DateTime> dtList = GetDates(StartDate, 1); The program is working fine. Question is using C# 3.0 feature like Linq, Lambda etc. can I rewrite the program. Why? Because I am learning linq and lambda and want to implement the same. But as of now the knowledge is not sufficient to do the same by myself. Thanks.

  • Executing an exe with arguments using Powershell

    - by Chris Charge
This is what I want to execute: c:\Program Files (x86)\SEQUEL ViewPoint\viewpoint.exe /Setvar((POSTSTR $POSTSTR)(POSTEND $POSTEND)) /G:C:\viewpointfile.vpt /D:C:($BEGDATE to $TODDATE).xls This is what I have tried: $a = "/Setvar((POSTSTR $POSTSTR)(POSTEND $POSTEND))" $b = "/G:C:\viewpointfile.vpt" $c = "/D:C:($BEGDATE to $TODDATE).xls" $Viewpoint = "c:\Program Files (x86)\SEQUEL ViewPoint\viewpoint.exe" &$Viewpoint $a $b $c When I execute this I receive an error stating: File C:\viewpointfile.vpt "/D:C:($BEGDATE to $TODDATE).xls" not found! I'm not sure where it gets the extra quotes from. If I run the command with just $a and $b it runs fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :) Update manojlds suggested echoargs so here it the output from it: &./echoargs.exe $viewpoint $a $b $c Arg 0 is C:\Program Files (x86)\SEQUEL ViewPoint\viewpoint.exe Arg 1 is /Setvar((POSTSTR 20101123)(POSTEND 20111123)) Arg 2 is /G:C:\viewpointfile.vpt Arg 3 is /D:C:(2010-11-23 to 2011-11-23 PM).xls It appears that all the arguments are being passed properly. When I run this as a command in cmd.exe it executes perfectly. So something on Powershells end must be messing up the output. Is there any other way to go about executing this command using Powershell?

  • media.set_xx giving me grief!

    - by Firas
New guy here. I asked a while back about a sprite recolouring program that I was having difficulty with and got some great responses. Basically, I tried to write a program that would recolour pixels of all the pictures in a given folder from one given colour to another. I believe I have it down, but, now the program is telling me that I have an invalid value specified for the red component of my colour. (ValueError: Invalid red value specified.), even though it's only being changed from 64 to 56. Any help on the matter would be appreciated! (Here's the code, in case I messed up somewhere else; It's in Python): import os import media import sys def recolour(old, new, folder): old_list = old.split(' ') new_list = new.split(' ') folder_location = os.path.join('C:\', 'Users', 'Owner', 'Spriting', folder) for filename in os.listdir (folder): current_file = media.load_picture(folder_location + '\\' + filename) for pix in current_file: if (media.get_red(pix) == int(old_list[0])) and \ (media.get_green(pix) == int(old_list[1])) and \ (media.get_blue(pix) == int(old_list[2])): media.set_red(pix, new_list[0]) media.set_green(pix, new_list[1]) media.set_blue(pix, new_list[2]) media.save(pic) if name == 'main': while 1: old = str(raw_input('Please insert the original RGB component, separated by a single space: ')) if old == 'quit': sys.exit(0) new = str(raw_input('Please insert the new RGB component, separated by a single space: ')) if new == 'quit': sys.exit(0) folder = str(raw_input('Please insert the name of the folder you wish to modify: ')) if folder == 'quit': sys.exit(0) else: recolour(old, new, folder)

My program will take a formula and n-tuples value. Then it calculate the results for each value of a,b,c and d. If you wonder I am saying ;outcome of program is graph. /sometimes,I think i will take input and store in string. then another idea is arise " I should store formula in the struct" but i don't know how I can construct the code on the base of structure./ really, I don't know way how to store the formula in program code so that I can do my job. can you show me? /* a,b,c,d is letters cos, sin, sqrt,ln is function*/

  • Hibernate object equality checking

    - by Sujee
As far as I understand(correct me if I am wrong) Hibernate uses object reference to check the object equality. When Hibernate identifies that there are more than one objects attached to same DB record, it throws following exception. "a different object with the same identifier value was already associated with the session" My question is, does Hibernate use equal() method to check the object equality (The default equal method uses object reference)? If it is true, will overridden equal() method change the Hibernate behavior? Note: My question is not about the issues of implementing equal() or hashCode() methods in a Hibernate persisted object. Thank you.

  • ASP.NET Compiles on page load, but not on Ctrl+Shift+B

    - by Steve Syfuhs
during debug in cassini the code runs fine, but when I explictly build it, the compile breaks on an object saying it can't find the reference. During a breakpoint shows the proper reference to the object, and I can view the debug intellisense. The code itself is simple using CFTW.Controls; ... controls_LatestPresentations c = LoadControl("~/controls/LatestPresentations.ascx") as controls_LatestPresentations; c.loadContent(); return RenderControl(c); The control is a simple user control, with the namespace CFTW.Controls. The calling code is in a webcontrol, which lives in the same folder. I even tried adding the calling code to the same namespace.

  • Can I have the gcc linker create a static libary?

    - by Lucas Meijer
I have a library consisting of some 300 c++ files. The program that consumes the library does not want to dynamically link to it. (For various reasons, but the best one is that some of the supported platforms do not support dynamic linking) Then I use g++ and ar to create a static library (.a), this file contains all symbols of all those files, including ones that the library doesn't want to export. I suspect linking the consuming program with this library takes an unnecessary long time, as all the .o files inside the .a still need to have their references resolved, and the linker has more symbols to process. When creating a dynamic library (.dylib / .so) you can actually use a linker, which can resolve all intra-lib symbols, and export only those that the library wants to export. The result however can only be "linked" into the consuming program at runtime. I would like to somehow get the benefits of dynamic linking, but use a static library. If my google searches are correct in thinking this is indeed not possible, I would love to understand why this is not possible, as it seems like something that many c and c++ programs could benefit from.

  • Creating a view linking three different node types with two node references

    - by mikesir87
I have the following content types: Camp - the top level type Registration Information - contains node reference to Camp called Camp Medical Release Form - contains node reference to registration information called Camper I would like to create a View that takes the nid for the Camp, and pulls out all the fields for the Registration Info and Medical Release Form. I'm having trouble figuring out how to set up the various arguments/relationships. I haven't done something that's referenced more than two types. I know it would be smart/best to just combine the Registration Info and Medical Release Form, since it's a 1:1 mapping, but we can't. So... any help would be appreciated!

  • Read char from txt file in C++

    - by Jack in the Box
I have a program that will read the number of rows and columns from a txt file. Also, the program has to read the contents of a 2D array from the same file. Here is the txt file 8 20 * * *** *** 8 and 20 are the number of rows and columns respectively. The spaces and asterisks are the contents of the array, Array[8][20] For example, Array[0][1] = '*' I did make the program reading 8 and 20 as follow: ifstream myFile; myFile.open("life.txt"); if(!myFile) { cout << endl << "Failed to open file"; return 1; } myFile >> rows >> cols; myFile.close(); grid = new char*[rows]; for (int i = 0; i < rows; i++) { grid[i] = new char[cols]; } Now, how to assign the spaces and the asterisks to to the fields in the array? I hope you got the point.

  • Resources for memory management in embedded application

    - by Elazar Leibovich
How should I manage memory in my mission critical embedded application? I found some articles with google, but couldn't pinpoint a really useful practical guide. The DO-178b forbids dynamic memory allocations, but how will you manage the memory than? preallocate everything in advance and send a pointer to each function that needs allocation? Allocate it on the stack? Use a global static allocator (but then it's very similar to dynamic allocation)? Answers can be of the form of regular answer, reference to a resource, or reference to good opensource embedded system for example. clarification: The issue here is not whether or not memory management is availible for the embedded system. But what is a good design for an embedded system, to maximize reliability.

  • pthread_join from a signal handler

    - by liv2hak
I have a capture program which in addition do capturing data and writing it into a file also prints some statistics. The function that prints the statistics static void* report(void) { /*Print statistics*/ } is called roughly every second using an ALARM that expires every second. So The program is like void capture_program() { pthread_t report_thread while(!exit_now) { if(pthread_create(&report_thread,NULL,report,NULL)){ fprintf(stderr,"Error creating reporting thread! \n"); } /* Capturing code -------------- -------------- */ if(doreport) usleep(5); } } void *report(void *param) { while(true) { if(doreport) { doreport = 0 //access some register from hardware usleep(5) } } } The expiry of the timer sets the doreport flag.If this flag is set report() is called which clears the flag.I am using usleep to alternate between two threads in the program. This seems to work fine. I also have a signal handler to handle SIGINT (i.e CTRL+C) static void anysig(int sig) { if (sig != SIGINT) dagutil_set_signal_handler(SIG_DFL); /* Tell the main loop to exit */ exit_now = 1; return; } My question: 1) Is it safe to call pthread_join from inside the signal handler? 2) Should I use exit_now flag for the report thread as well?

  • problem with kCFSocketReadCallBack

    - by zp26
    Hello. I have a problem with my program. I created a socket with "kCFSocketReadCallBack. My intention was to call the "acceptCallback" only when it receives a string to the socket. Instead my program does not just accept the connection always goes into "startReceive" stop doing so and sometimes crash the program. Can anybody help? Thanks readSocket = CFSocketCreateWithNative( NULL, fd, kCFSocketReadCallBack, AcceptCallback, &context ); static void AcceptCallback(CFSocketRef s, CFSocketCallBackType type, CFDataRef address, const void *data, void *info) // Called by CFSocket when someone connects to our listening socket. // This implementation just bounces the request up to Objective-C. { ServerVistaController * obj; #pragma unused(address) // assert(address == NULL); assert(data != NULL); obj = (ServerVistaController *) info; assert(obj != nil); #pragma unused(s) assert(s == obj->listeningSocket); if (type & kCFSocketAcceptCallBack){ [obj acceptConnection:*(int *)data]; } if (type & kCFSocketAcceptCallBack){ [obj startReceive:*(int *)data]; } } -(void)startReceive:(int)fd { CFReadStreamRef readStream = NULL; CFIndex bytes; UInt8 buffer[MAXLENGTH]; CFStreamCreatePairWithSocket( kCFAllocatorDefault, fd, &readStream, NULL); if(!readStream){ close(fd); [self updateLabel:@"No readStream"]; } CFReadStreamOpen(readStream); [self updateLabel:@"OpenStream"]; bytes = CFReadStreamRead( readStream, buffer, sizeof(buffer)); if (bytes < 0) { [self updateLabel:(NSString*)buffer]; close(fd); } CFReadStreamClose(readStream); }

  • Why this java application print "true"?

    - by user292084
    This is my first Class Hello.java public class Hello { String name = ""; } This is my second Class Test1.java public class Test1 { public static void main(String[] args) { Hello h = new Hello(); Test1 t = new Test1(); t.build(h); System.out.println((h.name)); } void build(Hello h){ h.name = "me"; } } When I run Test1.java, it prints "me". I think I understand, because of "reference transfer". This is my third Class Test2.java public class Test2 { public static void main(String[] args) { Hello h = null; Test2 t = new Test2(); t.build(h); System.out.println(((h == null))); } void build(Hello h){ h = new Hello(); } } When I run Test2.java, it prints "true", why ? Is it "reference transfer" no longer? I am confused.

  • Iterator category

    - by Knowing me knowing you
In code: //I know that to get this effect (being able to use it with std algorithms) I can inherit like I did in line below: class Iterator //: public std::iterator<std::bidirectional_iterator_tag,T> { private: T** itData_; public: //BUT I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO DO IT BY HAND AS WELL typedef std::bidirectional_iterator_tag iterator_category; typedef T* value_type;//SHOULD IT BE T AS value_type or T*? typedef std::ptrdiff_t difference_type; typedef T** pointer;//SHOULD IT BE T* AS pointer or T**? typedef T*& reference;//SHOULD IT BE T& AS reference or T*&? }; Basically what I'm asking is if I have my variable of type T** in iterator class is it right assumption that value type for this iterator will be T* and so on as I described in comments in code, right next to relevant lines. Thank you.

  • Mvp View knows Model

    - by userbb
I'm trying to use MVP and I notice that my View must know Model that should not happen in MVP I presume. here is example: public partial class TestForm : Form, ITestPresenter { public void LoadList(IEnumerable<AppSignature> data) { testPresenterBindingSource.DataSource = data; } } public interface ITestPresenter { event EventHandler<EventArgs> Load; void LoadList(IEnumerable<AppSignature> data); } and the problem is that in TestForm I need reference to AppSignature. In all tutorials I saw, there are some simple examples like public void LoadList(IEnumerable<String> data) where there is no need reference to model. But how i.e DataGridView can publish current row data?

  • Command line tool (PDF Workflow) in OSX that detects if key is down

    - by kroko
Hello! I'm writing a OSX PDF Workflow in ObjC and C. A single executable ("UNIX Tool" as named in the Apple reference), that reads in the spooled PDF file, does some parsing. I'd like to give more functionality by enabling a key-down event handling, meaning - when user opens print dialog in an application - and chooses to left-mouse-click on the custom made pdf workflow to run it - depending on if a keyboard key is down (i.e. option key, but "any key down" would be enough for me) when running that workflow - a decision is made in the code. I have read NSEvent and Carbon Event Manager reference and it seems that in this case (a plain unix executable + not run as root) it's not possible. Or is it? Many thanks in advance, Kroko

  • Fibonacci in C works great with 1 - 18 but 19 does nothing at all...

    - by shevron
    Yeah right... we are forced to programm some good old C at our university... ;) So here's my problem: We got the assignment to program a little program that show a fibonacci sequence from 1 to n 1 to 18 works great. But from 19 the program does nothing at all and just exit as it's done. I can not find the error... so please give me a hint. :) #include #include #include #include int main(int argc, char **argv) { pid_t pid; int fib[argc]; int i, size; size = strtol(argv[1], NULL, 0L); fib[0] = 0; fib[1] = 1; pid = fork(); printf("size = %d \n", size); if(pid == 0){ for(i = 2; i 0){ // Parent, because pid 0 wait(NULL); printf("\n"); exit(1); } } Thanks already!

  • java memory usage

    - by xdevel2000
I know I always post a similar question about array memory usage but now I want post the question more specific. After I read this article: http://www.javamex.com/tutorials/memory/object_memory_usage.shtml I didn't understand some things: the size of a data type is always the same also on different platform (Linux / Windows 32 / 64 bit)??? so an int will be always 32 bit?; when I compute the memory usage I must put also the reference value itself? If I have an object to a class that has an int field its memory will be 12 (object header) + 4 reference + 4 (the int field) + 3 (padding) = 24 bytes??

  • IEnumerable not null but calling Count() results in Exception

    - by Draak
I have code that's working beautifully on my development machine, but when deployed to the server is throwing null reference exception. So, I can't step through the code, but I've pinned down the culprit. But now I am puzzled. Here's the code. The question is below. Dim certs = From p In persons _ Select New Certificate( _ p.Value, _ New CertificateData.Seminar(thisEvent.Seminar.Name, _ thisEvent.StartDate.Value, _ thisEvent.EndDate.Value, _ thisEvent.Venue.City, _ thisEvent.Venue.State, _ New CertificateData.Instructor( _ staffMember.Name, _ staffMember.Titles, _ instrSignatPath))) _ With {.CertificateId = p.Key} lblMessage.Text = CStr(certs Is Nothing) lblMessage.Text = lblMessage.Text + "<br />" + CStr(certs.Count()) In the code above persons is a dictionary of custom class, and certs is of IEnumerable type. Now here's the quandary.. The first line that sets the label returns False, so certs is not null. But the second line throws an null reference exception. How is this possible?

  • Continuous build infrastructure recommendations for primarily C++; GreenHills Integrity

    - by andersoj
I need your recommendations for continuous build products for a large (1-2MLOC) software development project. Characteristics: ClearCase revision control Approx 80% C++; 15% Java; 5% script or low-level Compiles for Green Hills Integrity OS, but also some windows and JVM chunks Mostly an embedded system; also includes some UI pieces and some development support (simulation tools, config tools, etc...) Each notional "version" of the deliverable includes deployment images for a number of boards, UI machines, etc... (~10 separate images; 5 distinct operating systems) Need to maintain/track many simultaneous versions which, notably, are built for a variety of different board support packages Build cycle time is a major issue on the project, need support for whatever features help address this (mostly need to manage a large farm of build machines, I guess..) Operates in a secure environment (this is a gov't program) (Edited to add: This is a classified program; outsourcing the build infrastructure is a non-starter.) Interested in any best practices or peripheral guidance you might offer. The build automation issues is one of several overlapping best practices that appear to be missing on the program, but try to keep your answers focused on build infrastructure piece and observations directly related. Cost is not an object. Scalability and ease of retrofitting onto an existing infrastructure are key. JA

  • Use multiple inheritance to discriminate useage roles?

    - by Arne
Hi fellows, it's my flight simulation application again. I am leaving the mere prototyping phase now and start fleshing out the software design now. At least I try.. Each of the aircraft in the simulation have got a flight plan associated to them, the exact nature of which is of no interest for this question. Sufficient to say that the operator way edit the flight plan while the simulation is running. The aircraft model most of the time only needs to read-acess the flight plan object which at first thought calls for simply passing a const reference. But ocassionally the aircraft will need to call AdvanceActiveWayPoint() to indicate a way point has been reached. This will affect the Iterator returned by function ActiveWayPoint(). This implies that the aircraft model indeed needs a non-const reference which in turn would also expose functions like AppendWayPoint() to the aircraft model. I would like to avoid this because I would like to enforce the useage rule described above at compile time. Note that class WayPointIter is equivalent to a STL const iterator, that is the way point can not be mutated by the iterator. class FlightPlan { public: void AppendWayPoint(const WayPointIter& at, WayPoint new_wp); void ReplaceWayPoint(const WayPointIter& ar, WayPoint new_wp); void RemoveWayPoint(WayPointIter at); (...) WayPointIter First() const; WayPointIter Last() const; WayPointIter Active() const; void AdvanceActiveWayPoint() const; (...) }; My idea to overcome the issue is this: define an abstract interface class for each usage role and inherit FlightPlan from both. Each user then only gets passed a reference of the appropriate useage role. class IFlightPlanActiveWayPoint { public: WayPointIter Active() const =0; void AdvanceActiveWayPoint() const =0; }; class IFlightPlanEditable { public: void AppendWayPoint(const WayPointIter& at, WayPoint new_wp); void ReplaceWayPoint(const WayPointIter& ar, WayPoint new_wp); void RemoveWayPoint(WayPointIter at); (...) }; Thus the declaration of FlightPlan would only need to be changed to: class FlightPlan : public IFlightPlanActiveWayPoint, IFlightPlanEditable { (...) }; What do you think? Are there any cavecats I might be missing? Is this design clear or should I come up with somethink different for the sake of clarity? Alternatively I could also define a special ActiveWayPoint class which would contain the function AdvanceActiveWayPoint() but feel that this might be unnecessary. Thanks in advance!
