    Is there a way to give a domain user full control of their local drives at the Group Policy end? Specifically, my IT Manager wants the following: a) Desktop control allowed b) Full access to local hard drives c) Software Installation NOT Allowed d) Existing software Updates Allowed e) Install additional printers Allowed At the moment, our Win2003 setup does not allow users to do a,b,d,e - I wondered if there was a way using GP to enable these?

    I have setup a cron job to run a php file every 30 minutes, lynx -source public_html/scripts/file.php the result comes through to an email but seems to get this error Can't Access `file://localhost/home/username/public_html/scripts/file.php' Alert!: Unable to access document. lynx: Can't access startfile any advice would be much appreciated

  • Windows 2003 routing by port

    I have remote Windows 2003 server with two network interfaces e.g. Cn1 and Cn2. I need that all traffic goes through Cn1 except for one port (for me it's 3389, rdp for administration) that works over Cn2. Currently when I setup all connections work through Cn1, I completely lose connection over Cn2 - and can't connect to server via RDP over Cn2. Now I used static routing based on my ip address (which can changed - so it's bad).

  • iptables management utility (character based): Suggestions?

    I need IPTables , like everyone else, but I don't use it enough to really keep my knowledge complete and fresh. The setup utility in centos is too basic (doesn't seem to allow me to open up custom ports, just standard ones). Suggestions of a tool or utility to simply iptables management? I looked over APF (http://www.rfxn.com/projects/advanced-policy-firewall/). Is that something that is useful? thanks!

  • Where are stickies ( Sticky Notes) stored on mac 10.9.3?

    i deleted an important note on stickies. And i retrieved an old version of it in time machine under preferences / widgets. but the setup appears to have changed in my upgrade to mavericks and I can't open the note. I'm trying to open a "post-mavericks" version in my time machine and I can't find where it is. i saw a post that said look under Library/Preferences/Container, i have no such folder or binary document. Please help.

  • Postfix sendmail bypass restrictions [on hold]

    I have setup a postfix/dovecot mail server and all thing work fine! BUT: I use virtual mailboxes and when you try to send a mail to a non existent mailbox via telnet postfix will punch you... But if you use sendmail, all restricitons are bypassed... This is bad becuase dovecot does not know what to do with this mail! It will stay in the queue for ever... How can I force sendmail to use normal smtp?

  • Bugzilla not sending emails, even to the test file?

    I have installed and setup Bugzilla3 for my domain. Everything is working properly except for the email functionality. The server uses Postfix, and that works for my PHP application, and command line. In Bugzilla, I have tried setting the mail_delivery_method to 'test', and nothing shows up in data/mailer.testfile, it is completely blank... I have no idea where to go from here, any ideas on what to try next?

  • Can I have both apache and nginx serve my websites?

    I have an existing apache serving a couple of sites. Now I have a new django site that's ajax intensive and so I'm planning to run it on apache's mod_wsgi but I'll use nginx as a reverse proxy. Is it possible to have nginx be a reverse proxy to this new django site while make apache serve the other sites directly without using nginx? Also if you can give me a rough setup on how I might do it if its possible.

  • Managing servers over ssh with PermitRootLogin=no

    If I can't ssh as root to each of my servers how can I make modifications in an efficient way? I am not allowed to setup ssh keys or open the sudoers file with NOPASSWD. I can't install puppet or spacewalk. Sometimes when I try to include a sudo command in a script I get the error "no tty present." Has anyone worked in an environment like this?

    I've been trying to follow Scott Hanselman's post on installing the Win8 RP on a vhd, using the win8 .iso on a dvd, but the install wont start. I get a black screen with the Windows text for a minute or two and then a :( with some text about setup experiencing an error flashes up and my laptop restarts. http://www.hanselman.com/blog/HowToGuideToInstallingAndBootingWindows8ConsumerPreviewOffAVHDVirtualHardDisk.aspx Has anyone got any clues what might be going wrong, or how I can diagnose this?     I am receiving the following error on a Puppet agent when trying to install multiple packages at once: err: /Stage[main]/Template::Infrastructure/Package[undef]/ensure: change from absent to present failed: Execution of '/usr/bin/yum -d 0 -e 0 -y install undef' returned 1: Error: Nothing to do The code generating the error is: $packages = [ 'qemu-kvm', 'qemu-kvm-tools', 'drbd84-tools', 'kmod-drbd84' ] package { $::packages : ensure = 'installed', require = Class['yumrepos::elrepo'] } The problem is intermittent. Is there a better way to install multiple packages at once without having to setup a package resource for each?
