  • SlideUp a div if any other div is slided down with jQuery

    - by John
    I have made a function to slidedown different div's by clicking different links. Following is basic code. However, there's a little problem that, for example, if i click on first link, it slides down div. Now If i click on next link, it keeps the first div, and slides down the second div. However I want to do it so that, if there is any div slided down, and I click on any link, it should slide up the previous div and slide down the newer one. I will appriciate your help in this regard. Thanks. $("a.about").click(function(){ $("#about").slideDown("slow"); }); $("a.info").click(function(){ $("#info").slideDown("slow"); }); $("a.contact").click(function(){ $("#contact").slideDown("slow"); });

  • jquery .show("slide") options (WITH PICS!!)

    - by Micky Fokken
    Here's my code. It slides in from the left. <script> $('#goalHS').click(function() { $('div[id^="div-detailed-goal"]').show("slide"); }); $("#redline").click(function() { $('div[id^="div-detailed-goal"]').fadeOut("slow"); }); </script> Instead of fading in from the left, I want a red line to be drawn and then have the DIV slide in from the top. How can I get it to do the following? Horizontal red line grows out from center. --- Red line finishes growing: Content slides in from underneath red line. COntent does NOT show above red line: c. content, content, content d. content, content, content Content finishes sliding in. Awesomeness ensues! a. content, content, content b. content, content, content c. content, content, content d. content, content, content I've tried 4 different ways, and I've tried using other js plugin libraries, but I'm not quite that advanced to figure it out.

  • Retreive value stored in array with jquery index

    - by Dustin
    I am trying to retreive the stored value (div id) of an index stored in var "current" when it's div is clicked, so I can use it in a function to iterate through to the next index later. I want to store this stored value in a var so I can use it in a div show/hide function. my html is quite simple: <div class="gallerypreview" id="1"></div> <div class="gallerypreview" id="2"></div> <div class="gallerypreview" id="3"></div> my javascript is something like this: var images = new Array(); $(document).ready( function(){ $('.gallerypreview').each(function() { images.push($(this).attr("id")); }); $('.gallerypreview').click(function() { var current = $('.gallerypreview').index(this); }); }); how would I go about retrieving the div id from this clicked div? nothing I have tried has worked. I can get the index # fine, but I cannot find the value of the index using any functions that utilize the index # yet.

  • Jquery: How do I fire/play a sound file when I want?

    - by Sotkra
    I have some code that basically inflates a 'balloon' through 15 or so stages and then makes it pop at the 16th stage. (yes, images are changed). What I'm wondering now is if it's possible to use Jquery to play a sound file whenever I reach that 16th stage (or when whatever var reaches whatever value) - in other words...when I want. I've found several jquery sound plugins but they all create this player which I must then click for it to play the file. How do I skip that 'click' part so that the sound is just...directly/automatically played? http://www.sean-o.com/jquery/jmp3/ http://www.happyworm.com/jquery/jplayer/ All help is appreciated G.Campos

  • JQuery can't return xml value

    - by Mistergreen
    I have this simple xml <?xml version="1.0"?> <library> <item name="box_shelf"> <imageback src="images/box_shelf_color.png"/> <outline src="images/box_shelf_outline.png"/> <sku> <wh sku="4696424171" /> <ch sku="4696424179" /> <choc sku="4696425863" /> <ma sku="4696424175" /> </sku> </item> </library> Loading the xml is fine. I then have a function to parse certain nodes. function parseImageXml(mainNode,targetNode) { $(libraryXML).find('item').each(function() { if($(this).attr('name') == mainNode) { var $temp = $(this).find(targetNode).attr('src'); console.log("******"+$temp); return $temp; } }); } The console log is fine with ******images/box_shelf_outline.png ******images/box_shelf_color.png But when I try to return the value into variables, I get undefined. var image_outline = ''+parseImageXml("box_shelf","outline"); var image_back = parseImageXml("box_shelf","imageback"); console.log(image_outline+":"+image_back); undefined:undefined Any insight would be great, thanks
