I have a response from remote server like this: /home/computer/Downloads |-- /home/computer/Downloads/Apple | `-- /home/computer/Downloads/Apple/Pad |-- /home/computer/Downloads/Empty_Folder `-- /home/computer/Downloads/Subfolder |-- /home/computer/Downloads/Subfolder/Empty `-- /home/computer/Downloads/Subfolder/SubSubFolder `-- /home/computer/Downloads/Subfolder/SubSubFolder/Test this is the output for command computer@athome:$ tree -df --noreport -L 5 /home/computer/Downloads/ I would like to parse this string to recursive php array or object, something like this. I would show only part of result to get the idea. array( 'title' => '/home/computer/Downloads', 'children' => array( 0 => array( 'title' => '/home/computer/Downloads/Apple', 'children' => array( ... ) ) ); Response from server can change according to scanned directory. Can someone help me write this function. Please note that this is response from remote server and php functions can not scan any remote dir.

Why ????? is displayed instead of non-english characters?

I first created a simple HTML page that uses UTF-8 as its character encoding. Then I moved the HTML content as a view in codeigniter and it was still ok (I had used non-english characters that were ok as always) I added a simple dynamic functionality (there is a contact us form in it that emails users feedback to site admin). Please note that the characters were ok at localhost (which is a LAMP server running on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS) Strange is that when I uploaded the app to server, all persian characters are shown as ???? (For example ??? (which means Name) is shown ??? and so so...) I have not even connected to mysql or any other DBMS. It's the only page in the website (it's more an under construction page) and nothing else has been used in it. Maybe I should state that I have also used session library to thank the user after his feedback was sent to admins, nothing else. I have really no idea about the problem. UPDATE Now I can see that the problem is only with cPanel. On Directadmin I can see that everything is normal. Both Chromium and Firefox DO use UTF-8 as page's character encoding. URL is http://WEBSITE.COM/dmf/dynamic/ (dmf is the abbreviation of the project name!). There is nothing non-english in the URL. How to handle redirection in an Ajax based application

hi all, I'm developing a Ajax based php application. As anybody knows, I'm checking whether user is logged in every php file as the first statement. And there are two ways that I should response in an event of logging failure, server redirect to the login page using header(url). CASE: If user directly enter a particular URL passing url in Ajax response asking client side page redirection or notification CASE: If user trying to perform some action through a Ajax request So my question is how can identify whether request coming from client side is a Ajax call or not ? If I know that I can handle my response accordingly. OR Is there a better way of handling above scenario ? Thank You

Hi, I am using the .Net memebership system, and uptil now I haven't had any real troubles with it. I now have a overlay where a user can create a profile. When the profile is created I just want to redirect to the same page, and not to the default page or the return url - which doesn't exists. I have tried to stop the FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage response, but with no effect: FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage(username, false); // End the redirect so it doesnt redirect to default url (front-page) Response.End(); Response.Redirect(Request.RawUrl); Does anyone have an idea to how this can be solved?

Events raised by BackgroundWorker not executed on expected thread

A winforms dialog is using BackgroundWorker to perform some asynchronous operations with significant success. On occasion, the async process being run by the background worker will need to raise events to the winforms app for user response (a message that asks the user if they wish to cancel), the response of which captured in an CancelEventArgs type of the event. Being an implementation of threading, I would have expected the RaiseEvent of the worker to fire, and then the worker would continue, hence requiring me to pause the worker until the response is received. Instead however, the worker is held to wait for the code executed by the raise event to complete. It seems like method I am calling via the event call is actually on the worker thread used by the background worker, and I am surprised, since I expected to see it on the Main Thread which is where the mainform is running. Also surprisingly, there are no cross thread exceptions thrown. Can somebody please explain why this is not as I expect?

Finding the Formula for a Curve

Is there a program that will take "response curve" values from me, and provide a formula that approximates the response curve? It would be cool if such a program would take a numeric "percent correct" (perhaps with a standard deviation) so that it returns simplified formulas when laxity is permissable, and more precise (viz. complex) formulas when the curve needs to be approximated closely. My interest is to play with the response curve values and "laxity" factor, until such a tool spits out a curve-fit formula simple enough that I know it will be high performance during machine computations.

I am making an server control application ( simple with some buttons to start/stop the server ) And when the user wants to close the application there will be prompted an confirm box. Why is django.test.client.Client not keeping me logged in.

I'm using django.test.client.Client to test whether some text shows up when a user is logged in. However, I the Client object doesn't seem to be keeping me logged in. The problem seems to be that the Client object is not keeping the session authenticated.

Attaching files to WCF REST service responses

I have a resource that looks something like this: /users/{id}/summary?format={format} When format is "xml" or "json" I respond with a user summary object that gets automagically encoded by WCF - fine so far. But when format equals "pdf", I want my response to consist of a trivial HTTP response body and a PDF file attachment. How is this done? Hacking on WebOperationContext.Current.OutgoingResponse doesn't seem to work, and wouldn't be the right thing even if it did. Including the bits of the file in a CDATA section or something in the response isn't safe. Should I create a subclass of Message, then provide a custom IDispatchMessageFormatter that responds with it? I went a short distance down that path but ultimately found the documentation opaque. What's the right thing?
