  • jQuery: manipulating through children to check the checkbox in a table row

    - by gsquare567
    $("tr.clickable").each(function() {$(this).click(function() { $(this).children("td:first > input").is(":checked") ? $(this).children("td:first > input").removeAttr("checked") : $(this).children("td:first > input").attr("checked","checked"); })}); this only checks the first row in my table (no matter which row i click on). how can i apply it so that it checks the input on the specific row i click on? thanks! • JQuery-AJAX: No further request after timeout and delay in form post

    - by Nogga
    I got a form containing multiple checkboxes. This form shall be sent to the server to receive appropriate results from a server side script. This is already working. What I would achieve now: 1) Implementing a timeout: This is already working, but as soon as a timeout occurs, a new request is not working anymore. 2) Implementing a delay in requesting results: A delay shall be implemented so that not every checkbox is resulting in a POST request. This is what I have right now: function update_listing() { // remove postings from table $('.tbl tbody').children('tr').remove(); // get the results through AJAX var request = $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "http://localhost/hr/index.php/listing/ajax_csv", data: $("#listing_form").serialize(), timeout: 5000, success: function(data) { $(".tbl tbody").append(data); }, error: function(objAJAXRequest, strError) { $(".tbl tbody").append("<tr><td>failed " + strError + "</td></tr>"); } }); return true; } Results are for now passed as HTML table rows - I will transform them to CSV/JSON in the next step. Thanks so much for your advice.

  • Making JQuery horizontal accordion close on click

    - by user310404
    Example: http://vincent-massaro.com/map/ Currently, the script allows you to click on a piece of the accordion to open it, but it is set to close on mouseleave. When I set the mouseleave to .click, it gets confused and doesn't know what state it is in. The code controlling this is below, and the full script is in haccordion.js linked in the page source. If someone could help me modify this script, I would be very grateful! Thanks in advance. $target.click(function(){ haccordion.expandli(config.accordionid, this) config.$lastexpanded=$(this) }) if (config.collapsecurrent){ //if previous content should be contracted when expanding current $target.mouseleave(function(){ $(this).stop().animate({width:config.paneldimensions.peekw}, config.speed) }) }

  • jquery document height reported incorrectly by IE (on XP) first time

    - by Zhami
    I'm having a "first time" problem with IE, which reports a different value for $(document).height(); when the page first loads versus subsequent queries. The difference is 17 pixels regardless of the opening size of the window -- on document ready, the height reported is 17 pixels larger than is subsequently reported. I wonder if this is an artifact of some aspect of my page (some margins or paddings somewhere), but so far can't account for 17 pixels.

  • jQuery storing settings

    - by user138988
    I'm trying to build a player for a radio station that automatically updates the current song from an XML file, the problem is that I don't want it to update the UI (updateSongIMG) unless the song has actually changed. I have a hidden div called settings_songid that stores the song id and it should check that against a value in the XML file, if its different, then it should update it. The problem is that the function below does not actually work, it pulls all the XML data fine, but it doesn't call updateSongIMG as it fails the 'if'. function loadXML() { $.get('player.xml', function(d){ $(d).find('onair').each(function(){ var $onair = $(this); var show_name = $onair.find('showname').text(); var song_l1 = $onair.find('songline1').text(); var song_l2 = $onair.find('songline2').text(); var song_img = $onair.find('songimg').text(); var song_id = $onair.find('song_id').text(); var old_song_id = $("#settings_songid").html(); if (!old_show_id==show_id){ $("#settings_songid").html(song_id); updateSongIMG(song_img,song_l1,song_l2); } }); }); };

  • Performance of jquery visible

    - by Mark Steudel
    I have a bunch of checkboxes on a page, and I only show a subset of those checkboxes at a time. I then perform some action which loops through all of the checkboxes and sees if they are checked or not: e.g. $(".delete_items").click( function() { $('.checkboxes' ).each(function(){ //do stuff } } Then I was thinking, well since the user can never interact with the hidden checkboxes, that adding :visible to checkboxes would speed up the loop e.g. $(".delete_items").click( function() { $('.checkboxes :visible' ).each(function(){ //do stuff } } But I don't know if adding :visible adds more overhead. Any thoughts?

  • Does duplicate id's screw up jquery selectors?

    - by Matt
    If I had two divs, both with id="myDiv" Would $("#myDiv").fadeOut(); fade both divs out? Or would it fade only the first/second? Or none at all? How do I change which one it fades out? Note: I know duplicate id's is against standards but I'm using the fancybox modal popup and it duplicates specified content on your page for the content of the popup. If anyone knows a way around this (maybe I'm using fancybox wrong) please let me know.

  • jquery + prepend text not working

    - by Tiago Teixeira
    Hello, I have this following code: $(".preview").find("#panel").each(function(i, val) { var x = "" + $(val).html(); $(x).find(".dmPageHeadline").prepend(" 1 - "); console.log($(x).html()); html += $(x).html(); }); This code iterates through all accordion panels, concatenates its content and add " 1 - " to the header ( class "dmPageHeadline" ). Probably it's a simple detail, but i cannot figure it out... this line $(x).find(".dmPageHeadline").prepend(" 1 - "); doesn't preprend the desired text. Anyone can point me out what is wrong here? Thank you very much and happy new year ! Teixeira
