    The following code splits a string into a list of words but does not include numbers: txt="there_once was,a-monkey.called phillip?09.txt" sep=re.compile(r"[\s\.,-_\?]+") sep.split(txt) ['there', 'once', 'was', 'a', 'monkey', 'called', 'phillip', 'txt'] This code gives me words and numbers but still includes "_" as a valid character: re.findall(r"\w+|\d+",txt) ['there_once', 'was', 'a', 'monkey', 'called', 'phillip', '09', 'txt'] What do I need to alter in either piece of code to end up with the desired result of: ['there', 'once', 'was', 'a', 'monkey', 'called', 'phillip', '09', 'txt']

    I've been trying to get a good hold on the x86 assembly language, and was wondering if there was a quick-and-short equivalent of movl $1, %eax. That's when I thought that a list of idioms used frequently in the language would perhaps be a good idea. This could include the preferred use of xorl %eax, %eax as opposed to movl $0, %eax, or testl %eax, %eax against cmpl $0, %eax. Oh, and kindly post one example per post!

    I did some searching but I cannot find documentation on how unix usage works. I know somethings (mostly through trial and error) but for example how do I know that: /usr/bin/ls [-aAbcCdeEfFghHilLmnopqrRstuvVx1@] [file]... Means that you can include more than one option. Ie: ls -la Can someone point me to some documentation on what the usage syntax is.

    I've downloaded and extracted the Havok demos, but the project has dependency on a folder: $(HAVOK_SDKS_DIR)/win32/dx/Include But it didn't set up a HAVOK_SDKS_DIR (there is no installer), and I can't find a win32/dx directory anywhere in the extracted Havok package. How can I get the demo files to build? What am I missing?

    Hi, I'm using SimpleModal plugin (http://www.ericmmartin.com/projects/simplemodal/) for generating a simple modal dialog. Now the application I'm using this in had some previous code that uses Spring MVC - DWR Ajax framework. I believe it uses jQuery internally. Now when I include the jQuery file in this project and use the plugin, the plugin works fine but it is breaking the existing AJAX implementations in the project (which I assume is because I'm including the jQuery file again.) How do I resolve this conflict?

    I have this code example, but I don't understand why changing the values in the array inside outputUsingArray() are changing the original array. I would have expected changing the values of the array in outputUsingArray() would only be for a local copy of the array. Why isn't that so?     I'm trying to split a string on newline characters (catering for Windows, OS X, and Unix text file newline characters). If there are any succession of these, I want to split on that too and not include any in the result. So, for when splitting the following: "Foo\r\n\r\nDouble Windows\r\rDouble OS X\n\nDouble Unix\r\nWindows\rOS X\nUnix" The result would be: ['Foo', 'Double Windows', 'Double OS X', 'Double Unix', 'Windows', 'OS X', 'Unix'] What regex should I use?

  • Visual Studio 2010 including old version of jquery

    When I create a new ASP.NET project in Visual Studio 2010, it creates the scripts directory, like it should, however the version of JQuery it sticks under the scripts directory is an old version of JQuery. Version 1.36 I believe. How can I update this so that Visual Studio 2010 will include the newest version of jquery? I know I can remove it and manually add it, but I don't want to have to do this everytime I create a new project.

I mean, I don't want to download all the bytes of the remote image -- just enough to detect if it exists. And while on the subject but with just a slight deviation, I'd like to download just enough bytes to determine a JPEG's width and height information. Speed is very important in my concern here on this system design I'm working on.
