    I have a set of lists that look like this: conditions = [ ["condition1", ["sample1", "sample2", "sample3"]], ["condition2", ["sample4", "sample5", "sample6"], ...] how can I do the following things efficiently and elegantly in Python? Find all the elements in a certain condition? e.g. get all the samples in condition2. Right now I can do: for cond in conditions: cond_name, samples = cond if cond_name == requested_cond: return samples but that's clunky. Find the ordered union of a list of conditions? E.g. ordered_union(["condition1", "condition2"], conditions) should return: ["sample1", "sample2", "sample3", "sample4", "sample5", "sample6"] How can I do this efficiently in Python? There are probably clever one liners?

    I want to display a login view to my users if they are not logged in and the main view if they are. In my header file I define a variable to hold the logged in status #define loggedIn 0 I figure I should then reference this in the initWithNibName method and then decide which nib to load.     I am building an iphone app and would like to keep track of how many times it has been opened so that I can prompt the user to do certain actions after it has been opened X number of times. I have thought about storing a variable in Core Data which I update every time it is opened, but this seems like a waste since it is a singleton data, not multiple instances of an object. What is the best way to store data like this and access it without slowing down the app opening time?

    Hi, I am making a simulator and have written lots of files and headers. The problem is whenever I include a file I give the relative path of the particular file. For example a typical code in my application would begin like ifndef AI_H define AI_H include include "../world/world.h" include "pathPlan.h" include "skills/tryskill.h" include "../info/condition.h" include "dataStructures/destination.h" include "../params/gamePlay.h" include "../modules/controlModule.h" class ai { public: etc etc I want to avoid using the relative paths. For example I want to directly include "tryskill.h" and "destination.h" without giving the absolute paths. That way I wont need to bother if I change the location of any particular file. I am using Ubuntu 9.10. Any help would be highly appreciated.

    I have an application where I create a big SQL query dynamically for SQL server 2008. This query is based on various search criteria which the user might give such as search by lastname, firstname, ssn etc. The requirement is that if the user gives a condition due to which the formed query might return a lot of rows(configurable for max N rows), then the application must send back a message instead to the user saying that he needs to refine his search query as the existing query will return too many rows. I would not want to bring back say, 5000 rows to the client and then discard that data just to show the user an error. What is an efficient way to tackle this issue?

  • scrollTop issue on constant moving div

    I have a FLASH object that I mouse over which in turn calls the following function to scroll a div. It works but due to the constant high speed scrolling it would throw up NULLS. This in turn caused IE to open a new page through my FLASH ActionScript 2.0 I found that by creating the SC variable and throwing in the condition "if it exists" keeps FLASH from causing IE to open a new page. However, it still creates an error behind the scenes of "Object Required". Although my application works I do not want load up memory with errors.
