• Programmatically pushing data to Quickbooks Online?

  Our company uses Quickbooks Online to track our books. When our application bills a customer, it would be nice to have that information recorded automatically in QB rather than logging in to QB Online to fill in the info. Is there a way to accomplish this using Quickbook's APIs? The Intuit developer information is very confusing; it is mainly oriented towards extending the desktop version of Quickbooks or developing apps to publish in Intuit's app store. Have you successfully created a web or other service-side app that was able to pull data to or from QB Online?

• Where are AnkhSVN CA certificates stored?

  My Subversion repository is available over HTTPS. I've got a self-signed CA root certificate, and the server uses a certificate signed with that. The CA root certificate is stored in Trusted Root Certification Authorities, which means that (for example) Internet Explorer recognises it. AnkhSVN, on the other hand, reports "There are some problems with this server's certificate". So: what is AnkhSVN using as its certificate store? It doesn't appear to be the Windows one. And how do I put my CA root certificate in there?

• INET_ATON() and INET_NTOA() in PHP?

  I want to store IP addresses in my database, but I also need to use them throughout my application. I read about using INET_ATON() and INET_NTOA() in my MySQL queries to get a 32-bit unsigned integer out of an IP address, which is exactly what I want as it will make searching through the database faster than using char(15). The thing is, I can't find a function that does the same sort of thing in PHP. The only thing I came across is: http://php.net/manual/en/function.ip2long.php So I tested it: $ip = $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']; echo ip2long($ip); And it outputs nothing. In the example they gave it seems to work, but then again I'm not exactly sure if ip2long() does the same thing as INET_ATON(). Does someone know a PHP function that will do this? Or even a completely new solution to storing an IP address in a database? Thanks.

  Hello, So i need to create a tree with tree items for my gwt project. i am using the composite pattern to store all the information i need to be placed within a tree. A User has a root Folder that extends Hierarchy, this root Folder then has a list of Hierarchy objects, that can be FileLocations or Folders. Trouble i am having is building my tree based on this pattern. this data is all stored using hibernate in a mysql database How would i be able to implement this as a tree in gwt. Also the tree item that i create would have to reference back to the object so i can rename or move it.

• What good timesheet should and shouldn't have for a small (non programming) 50 people company?

  I'm sure most people here had to fill at least one time sheet in their life that made their life miserable, hell it's even the worst time taker ever especially after you have to fill it in hurry. I will be developing some simple TimeSheet application for a small company of 50 people (non programming related, it's actually 4 companies working together) and would like it to be user friendly and as less disturbing as possible. So what in your opinion makes it a good timesheet (lack of it doesn't count :p), what data it should store? Should be only hours per day with possibility to choose project, company and simple overview what you have worked on like: Day 1, 3:00, 'Company 1', 'Project5', 'Name', Short Overview Day 1, 5:00, 'Company 2', 'Project6', 'Name', Short Overview Or should it gather more data? Would it be realy bad if it were an WinForms application considering that I don't know ASP.NET or any other web based language? I would be deploying it using ClickOnce or so.

VisualSVN recommends to create 1 respository for our company and then vc all projects inside that. It's a good practice to create one repository for the entire company or department and store all your projects in this repository. Creating separate repository for each project is not a good idea because in that case you will not be able to perform Subversion operations like copy, diff and merge cross-project. VisualSvn.com Currently we're using post-commit hooks to update the testing server with the latest commit and do other project specific actions (such as emailing certain people for one project but not for others) depending on which project has been committed. As post-commit runs for the whole repository, is this still possible in such a situation? How would I go about decerning which project has changes? filter folder structure?

• getting the Contact's Birthday of a HTC Sense phone

  I am not sure, but probably HTC Sense does the following, syncs my Facebook contacts to my phone along with their mobile number and their birthday. This shows well in the agenda and the user panel. But as it turns out it doesn't use the standard SDK way to store the birthdays.   I want to create a browser based game and I have a huge problem, the game can be easily hacked. The problem is at a page where you can go to "work", I store in a file the work ending date and the amount of money what you will receive after finishing the work. There are 4 type of works. The problem is that I use ajax to send to a php file the necessary information. The URL looks like this x.php?date=....&pay=.... The javascript part of the page calculates the date and the pay but if you simply enter in your URL bar x.php?date=anynumber&pay=99999 you will receive that 99999 dollars. What should I do ? And sorry for my bad english :)

  I need to store a undirected graph in a Google App Engine database. For optimization purposes, I am thinking to use database indexes. Using Google App Engine, is there any way to define the columns of a database table to create its index? I will need some optimization, since my app uses this stored undirected graph on a content-based filtering for item recommendation. Also, the recommender algorithm updates the weights of some graph's edges. If it is not possible to use database indexes, please suggest another method to reduce query time for the graph table. I believe my algorithm does more data retrieval operations from graph table than write operations. PS: I am using Python.

• How can I export images from SQL Server to a file on disk?

  I have a User table that has all of their avatars saved in an image field. I'd like to just take that out of the database and store it as a regular file on disk.   For example, i have a column named EmployeeName. Every time a user changes/fix his name, i need to keep a count. If he changes his name twice, then count is 2. Also, i need to store the time of every change employee makes on EmployeeName e.g. if the name essentially is James and time created is 9:00 AM and then employee changes to John on 11:00 AM, i need to preserve this new time and new value as well as the previous one which is James at 9:00 AM. • Hbase schema design -- to make sorting easy?

  I have 1M words in my dictionary. Whenever a user issue a query on my website, I will see if the query contains the words in my dictionary and increment the counter corresponding to them individually. Here is the example, say if a user type in "Obama is a president" and "Obama" and "president" are in my dictionary, then I should increment the counter by 1 for "Obama" and "president". And from time to time, I want to see the top 100 words (most queried words). If I use Hbase to store the counter, what schema should I use? -- I have not come up an efficient one yet. If I use word in my dictionary as row key, and "counter" as column key, then updating counter(increment) is very efficient. But it's very hard to sort and return the top 100. Anyone can give a good advice? Thanks.

• Accessing form's resources (resx file) from code

  If I have a form Frm1.cs that is using some icons, images or other resources, these resources get stored in the form's resx file (Frm1.resx). My simple question is how do I access these resources from code? As a workaround I can store these resources in the Project resource file and they will be available via Properties.Resources.resourcename. However, similar syntax does not work for the resources stored in the form's resource file. While searching for a solution I have come across several references to ResourceManager class but was not able to find a way to use that to access the form's resources...

  I followed several tutorials-which all appeared to say the same thing-on how to create deployable flat-packages (.pkg) using the OS X system provided pkgbuild tool. The packages was always generated just fine. They did, however, not want to be installed. Running the graphical Apple Installer or the command line interface installer aborted the installation early on giving an generic “Unknown error” after prompting for higher permissions. Hours later after closer investigation I discovered that I could not install other packages either. Not even updates and new installations from the OS X App Store. Why could I not install my own nor any other packages? What was going on?

• resizing arrays when close to memory capacity

  So I am implementing my own hashtable in java, since the built in hashtable has ridiculous memory overhead per entry. I'm making an open-addressed table with a variant of quadratic hashing, which is backed internally by two arrays, one for keys and one for values. I don't have the ability to resize though. The obvious way to do it is to create larger arrays and then hash all of the (key, value) pairs into the new arrays from the old ones. This falls apart though when my old arrays take up over 50% of my current memory, since I can't fit both the old and new arrays in memory at the same time. Is there any way to resize my hashtable in this situation Edit: the info I got for current hashtable memory overheads is from here How much memory does a Hashtable use? Also, for my current application, my values are ints, so rather than store references to Integers, I have an array of ints as my values.

My two concerns are: How will I send the user's password securely from the client. How will I store the user's password securely on the server. How can I achieve these?   I have 2 tables, Stores - storeId (int) and year (int(4)) both Primary Keys. fruit - fruitId - Primary Key and storeId. I need to create 1 to many relationship between the Store and Fruit (Foreign Key held within Fruit) how ever I always get shown the error - The Columns in table <table> do not match an existing primary key or unique constraint. The type's are both int and named the same. Any help would be appreciate in advance, many thanks.
