  • Checking values in this array, JQuery

    - by Felix Guerrero
    Hi. I have this array (JQuery) where I add all my form's controls, it looks like: var name = $("#name"), surname = $("#surname"), address = $("#address"), phone = $("#phone"), photo = $("#photo"), grade = $("#grade"), profession = $("#profession"), email = $('#email'), title = $('#title'), allFields = $([]).add(name) .add(surname) .add(address) .add(phone) .add(photo) .add(grade) .add(profession) .add(email) .add(title) .add(grade); I want to check the values of each element into the 'allFields' array with function checkingFieldsArentEmpty(){ var valid = true; for (var f in allFields){ if(allFields[f].val() === null) //if any val is null just return false return false; } //true return valid; } I need ideas in order to improve the last function. Thanks.

  • Argument constraints in RhinoMock methods

    - by Khash
    I am mocking a repository that should have 1 entity in it for the test scenario. The repository has to return this entity based on a known id and return nothing when other ids are passed in. I have tried doing something like this: _myRepository.Expect(item => item.Find(knownId)).Return(knownEntity); _myRepository.Expect(item => item.Find(Arg<Guid>.Is.Anything)).Return(null); It seems however the second line is overriding the first and the repository always returns null. I don't want to mock all the different possible IDs asked (they could go up to hundreds) when the test scenario is only concerned with the value of one Id.

I'd like to be able to automatically include the file in the jars that lein creates as well as have the properties file be accessible to "lein swank" (and lein repl). Right now I have the file in my project "root", but I get this error when I using logging from swank [null] log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (com.dev). • Java-Recursion: When does statements after a recursive method call executes

    When are statements after the method call itself going to execute? private void inorderHelper(TreeNode node) { if ( node==null ) return; inorderHelper(node.leftNode); System.out.printf("%d", node.data); inorderHelper(node.rigthNode); } All I can see is that the line of codes inorderHelper(node.leftNode) will continue to iterate until node == null and the method terminates immediately before node.data is printed. I think that I didn't get well recursion but all examples I can find doesn't have statements after the recursive call. All I want to know is when are statements like System.out.printf("%d",node.data) going to execute before the method return?

  • How do I take the advantage of the variable column key/value structure of Cassandra

    - by icejade
    If I have to predefine all the columns, how do I take the advantage of the variable column key/value structure of cassandra? If I use update table command, it will insert null for all the rows which don't have that column. This is same as relational DB. For example, for contact column family, I have name, phone, email. I have 100 contacts have all 3 field. Then number 101 contact has skype id which I want to add. If I use insert statement, it won't let me add skypeid since it's not defined in the CF. So I have to run alter statement to change the CF, then all the first 100 contacts will have a null field for each of them.

Any hint how to override the setter correctly? Thanks

  • Parantheses around method invokation: why is the compiler complaining about assignment?

    - by polygenelubricants
    I know why the following code doesn't compile: public class Main { public static void main(String args[]) { main((null)); // this is fine! (main(null)); // this is NOT! } } What I'm wondering is why my compiler (javac 1.6.0_17, Windows version) is complaining "The left hand side of an assignment must be a variable". I'd expect something like "Don't put parantheses around a method invokation, dummy!", instead. So why is the compiler making a totally unhelpful complaint about something that is blatantly irrelevant? Is this the result of an ambiguity in the grammar? A bug in the compiler? If it's the former, could you design a language such that a compiler would never be so off-base about a syntax error like this?

  • Comet with multiple channels

    - by mark_dj
    Hello, I am writing an web app which needs to subscribe to multiple channels via javascript. I am using Atmosphere and Jersey as backend. However the jQuery plugin they work with only supports 1 channel. I've start buidling my own implementation. Now it works oke, but when i try to subscribe to 2 channels only 1 channel gets notified. Is the XMLHttpRequest blocking the rest of the XMLHttpRequests? Here's my code: function AtmosphereComet(url) { this.Connected = new signals.Signal(); this.Disconnected = new signals.Signal(); this.NewMessage = new signals.Signal(); var xhr = null; var self = this; var gotWelcomeMessage = false; var readPosition; var url = url; var onIncomingXhr = function() { if (xhr.readyState == 3) { if (xhr.status==200) // Received a message { var message = xhr.responseText; console.log(message); if(!gotWelcomeMessage && message.indexOf("") -1) { gotWelcomeMessage = true; self.Connected.dispatch(sprintf("Connected to %s", url)); } else { self.NewMessage.dispatch(message.substr(readPosition)); } readPosition = this.responseText.length; } } else if (this.readyState == 4) { self.disconnect(); } } var getXhr = function() { if ( window.location.protocol !== "file:" ) { try { return new window.XMLHttpRequest(); } catch(xhrError) {} } try { return new window.ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } catch(activeError) {} } this.connect = function() { xhr = getXhr(); xhr.onreadystatechange = onIncomingXhr; xhr.open("GET", url, true); xhr.send(null); } this.disconnect = function() { xhr.onreadystatechange = null; xhr.abort(); } this.send = function(message) { } } And the test code: var connection1 = AtmosphereConnection("http://192.168.1.145:9999/botenveiling/b/product/status/2", AtmosphereComet); var connection2 = AtmosphereConnection("http://192.168.1.145:9999/botenveiling/b/product/status/1", AtmosphereComet); var output = function(msg) { alert(output); }; connection1.NewMessage.add(output); connection2.NewMessage.add(output); connection1.connect(); In AtmosphereConnection I instantiate the given AtmosphereComet with "new". I iterate over the object to check if it has to methods: "send", "connect", "disconnect". The reason for this is that i can switch the implementation later on when i complete the websocket implementation :) However I think the problem rests with the XmlHttpRequest object, or am i mistaken? P.S.: signals.Signal is a js observer/notifier library: http://millermedeiros.github.com/js-signals/ Testing: Firefox 3.6.1.3

  • Java DriverManager Always Assigns My Driver

    - by JGB146
    I am writing a driver to act as a wrapper around two separate MySQL connections (to distributed databases). Basically, the goal is to enable interaction with my driver for all applications instead of requiring the application to sort out which database holds the desired data. Most of the code for this is in place, but I'm having a problem in that when I attempt to create connections via the MySQL Driver, the DriverManager is returning an instance of my driver instead of the MySQL Driver. I'd appreciate any tips on what could be causing this and what could be done to fix it! Below is a few relevant snippets of code. I can provide more, but there's a lot, so I'd need to know what else you want to see. First, from MyDriver.java: public MyDriver() throws SQLException { DriverManager.registerDriver(this); } public Connection connect(String url, Properties info) throws SQLException { try { return new MyConnection(info); } catch (Exception e) { return null; } } public boolean acceptsURL(String url) throws SQLException { if (url.contains("jdbc:jgb://")) { return true; } return false; } It is my understanding that this acceptsURL function will dictate whether or not the DriverManager deems my driver a suitable fit for a given URL. Hence it should only be passing connections from my driver if the URL contains "jdbc:jgb://" right? Here's code from MyConnection.java: Connection c1 = null; Connection c2 = null; /** *Constructors */ public DDBSConnection (Properties info) throws SQLException, Exception { info.list(System.out); //included for testing Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver").newInstance(); String url1 = "jdbc:mysql://server1.com/jgb"; String url2 = "jdbc:mysql://server2.com/jgb"; this.c1 = DriverManager.getConnection( url1, info.getProperty("username"), info.getProperty("password")); this.c2 = DriverManager.getConnection( url2, info.getProperty("username"), info.getProperty("password")); } And this tells me two things. First, the info.list() call confirms that the correct user and password are being sent. Second, because we enter an infinite loop, we see that the DriverManager is providing new instances of my connection as matches for the mysql URLs instead of the desired mysql driver/connection. FWIW, I have separately tested implementations that go straight to the mysql driver using this exact syntax (al beit only one at a time), and was able to successfully interact with each database individually from a test application outside of my driver.

  • Having trouble doing an Update with a Linq to Sql object

    - by Pure.Krome
    Hi folks, i've got a simple linq to sql object. I grab it from the database and change a field then save. No rows have been updated. :( When I check the full Sql code that is sent over the wire, I notice that it does an update to the row, not via the primary key but on all the fields via the where clause. Is this normal? I would have thought that it would be easy to update the field(s) with the where clause linking on the Primary Key, instead of where'ing (is that a word :P) on each field. here's the code... using (MyDatabase db = new MyDatabase()) { var boardPost = (from bp in db.BoardPosts where bp.BoardPostId == boardPostId select bp).SingleOrDefault(); if (boardPost != null && boardPost.BoardPostId > 0) { boardPost.ListId = listId; // This changes the value from 0 to 'x' db.SubmitChanges(); } } and here's some sample sql.. exec sp_executesql N'UPDATE [dbo].[BoardPost] SET [ListId] = @p6 WHERE ([BoardPostId] = @p0) AND .... <snip the other fields>',N'@p0 int,@p1 int,@p2 nvarchar(9),@p3 nvarchar(10),@p4 int,@p5 datetime,@p6 int',@p0=1276,@p1=212787,@p2=N'ttreterte',@p3=N'ttreterte3',@p4=1,@p5='2009-09-25 12:32:12.7200000',@p6=72 Now, i know there's a datetime field in this update .. and when i checked the DB it's value was/is '2009-09-25 12:32:12.720' (less zero's, than above) .. so i'm not sure if that is messing up the where clause condition... but still! should it do a where clause on the PK's .. if anything .. for speed! Yes / no ? UPDATE After reading nitzmahone's reply, I then tried playing around with the optimistic concurrency on some values, and it still didn't work :( So then I started some new stuff ... with the optimistic concurrency happening, it includes a where clause on the field it's trying to update. When that happens, it doesn't work. so.. in the above sql, the where clause looks like this ... WHERE ([BoardPostId] = @p0) AND ([ListId] IS NULL) AND ... <rest snipped>) This doesn't sound right! the value in the DB is null, before i do the update. but when i add the ListId value to the where clause (or more to the point, when L2S add's it because of the optomistic concurrecy), it fails to find/match the row. wtf?

  • Between-request Garbage Collection using Passenger

    - by raphaelcm
    We're using Rails 3.0.7 and REE 1.8.7. Long-term, we will be upgrading, but at the moment it's not feasible. Following the advice of several blog posts, we've been tuning our GC, and have settings that work pretty well. But we would really like to run GC outside of the request-response cycle. I've tried patching Passenger per this post, and using the code supplied in this SO question. In both cases, GC does indeed happen between requests. However, every time the between-request GC happens, I see a bunch of this: MONGODB [INFO] Connecting... Basically, GC.start is re-loading the app for some reason. Because of this, between-request GC is much slower than inline GC. Is there a way around this? I would love to have snappy, between-request GC if possible. Thanks.

  • Java Micro Edition (J2ME) - Update Record using recordstore enumeration

    - by Garbit
    Hi there, I have a record store of items which have (name, quantity, owner, status) Now when the user triggers an event i want to set the status of all items in my recordstore with "purchased" re = shoppingListStore.enumerateRecords(null, null, false); while (re.hasNextElement()) { // read current values of item byte [] itemRecord = re.nextRecord(); // deserialise byte array newItemObject.fromByteArray(itemRecord); // set item status to purchased newItemObject.setItemStatus("Purchased"); // create new bytearray and call newitemobject . tobytearray method to return a byte array of the object (using UTF8 encoded strings~) byte[] itemData = newItemObject.toByteArray(); // add new byte array to shoppinglist store shoppingListStore.setRecord(re.nextRecordId(), itemData, 0, itemData.length); } However I am overwriting the next record (using the nextRecordId), i've tried using nextRecordId - 1 but obviously this is out of bounds on the first one Hope you can help, Many thanks, andy

  • Connection Pooling

    - by cshah
    I have the following code, If I use conn == null in finally do I still use connection pooling? I know it is a good practice to close your connection but how about disposing the whole connection object? public void ExecuteNonQuery(SqlCommand Cmd) { //========== Connection ==========// SqlConnection Conn = new SqlConnection(strConStr); try { //========== Open Connection ==========// Conn.Open(); //========== Execute Command ==========// Cmd.Connection = Conn; Cmd.CommandTimeout = 180; Cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); } catch (Exception Exc) { throw Exc; } finally { //======== Closing Connection ========// if (Conn.State == ConnectionState.Open) { Conn.Close(); } //======== Disposing object ========// Conn = null; } }

  • Writing a basic C Shell - understanding argv[] [on hold]

    - by Flame
    I have an assignment for my class to write a basic C Shell. I have found many pages that explain parts of it and some fully implemented code. I'm not going to copy, i'm just using it right now as a way to get started. So I'm at the beginning of this project obviously. One example I am looking at parses the user's input and stores a pointer to the beginning of the argument in char *argv[3]; Am I just misunderstanding this or would this technically break if there are more than 3 arguments? (say /a.out arg1 arg2 arg3 etc). Would I wanna malloc this somehow? I know a.out is considered argv[0], and the arguments argv1 - however many there are. It's probably bad practice to have too many arguments for a program, but I still would at least want to address it as I don't know what my TA's are going to use to test my shell.

  • Unlock device, display a text, then lock again

    - by Waza_Be
    For the need of my application, I need to display a message on the screen even if the lockscreen is enabled, then wait 3 seconds, than I have to lock again the phone as I don't want it to make unwanted phone calls in your pockets. First part is easy: if (PreferenceManager.getDefaultSharedPreferences( getBaseContext()).getBoolean("wake", false)) { KeyguardManager kgm = (KeyguardManager) getSystemService(Context.KEYGUARD_SERVICE); boolean isKeyguardUp = kgm.inKeyguardRestrictedInputMode(); WakeLocker.acquire(ProtoBenService.this); Intent myIntent = new Intent(ProtoBenService.this,LockActivity.class); myIntent.setFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK); if (isKeyguardUp) { ProtoBenService.this.startActivity(myIntent); } else Toast.makeText(ProtoBenService.this.getBaseContext(), intention, Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); WakeLocker.release(); } With this class: public abstract class WakeLocker { private static PowerManager.WakeLock wakeLock; public static void acquire(Context ctx) { if (wakeLock != null) wakeLock.release(); PowerManager pm = (PowerManager) ctx.getSystemService(Context.POWER_SERVICE); wakeLock = pm.newWakeLock(PowerManager.FULL_WAKE_LOCK | PowerManager.ACQUIRE_CAUSES_WAKEUP | PowerManager.ON_AFTER_RELEASE, "CobeIm"); wakeLock.acquire(); } public static void release() { if (wakeLock != null) wakeLock.release(); wakeLock = null; } } And the Activity: public class LockActivity extends Activity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); Window window = getWindow(); window.addFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_DISMISS_KEYGUARD); window.addFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_TURN_SCREEN_ON); window.addFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_KEEP_SCREEN_ON); TextView tv = new TextView(this); tv.setText("This is working!"); tv.setTextSize(45); setContentView(tv); Runnable mRunnable; Handler mHandler = new Handler(); mRunnable = new Runnable() { @Override public void run() { LockActivity.this.finish(); } }; mHandler.postDelayed(mRunnable, 3 * 1000); } } So, this is nice, the phone can display my text! The only problem comes when I want to lock again the phone, it seems that locking the phone is protected by the system... Programmatically turning off the screen and locking the phone how to lock the android programatically I think that my users won't understand the Device Admin and won't be able to activate it. Is there any workaround to lock the screen without the Device Admin stuff?
