  I'm currently developing a window application in VS2005,i need to make a setup of the product..and i had used setup and deployment project in VS2005 and created the setup but in the setup process... dialogs cannot be modified.. according to my needs...(ie it will be the same for all products installation only can change the heading , product name or top-banner) i like to make a setup the look the normal software installation...(like Visual studio ,photo shop installation)how is it possible to make a custom setup method..Is there any Custom setup & deployment method which is easy to do...plss help..me to create a better view during the product installation

• Grouped UITableView's cell separator missing when setting backgroundView with an image

  I have a grouped UITableView with a custom UITableViewCell class and I am adding a custom background image to each cell. However, when I do this, the cell's separator is not visible. If simply switch the table style to Plain instead of Grouped, the separator is showing up. I need the grouped table - how do I make the separator show up?   Question: In the path HUDSON_HOME/jobs/<jobname>/builds/<timestamp>/workspace-files, there are a series of .tmp files. What are these files, and what feature of Hudson do they support? Background Using Hudson version 1.341, we have a continuous build task that runs on a slave instance. After the build is otherwise complete, including archiving the artifacts, task scanner, etc., the job appears to hang for a long period of time. In monitoring the master node, I noted that many .tmp files were being created and modified under builds//workspace=files, and that some of them were very large. This appears to be causing the delay, as the job completed at the same time that files in this path stopped changing. Some key configuration points of the job: It is tied to a specific slave node It builds in a 'custom workspace' It triggers a downstream job that builds in the same custom workspace on the same slave node

• Which "platform" should we use for a notifier-component?

  Hi all We need to develop a notifier component. What it will do, is to scan a database at given intervals (say, every 15th minute), to see if any notifications needs to be sent out. We're running on Windows, and so we've been looking into either a Windows Service or the Windows Task Scheduler. Our biggest concern is the robustness of our implementation. If it, for some reason, crashes, can it be auto-restarted the next interval? Can we use custom logging logic, to take care of crashes? I'd like an educated guess on what to use here :) Feel free to say if you need additional info, to make such a guess.. Props will be given if someone could make a short listing of the pros n cons of a windows service vs. the windows task scheduler. Also, it should be noted, that we aren't set on either of these, so if you have any alternatives, please, do post away. Thanks in advance :)

• How to use all the cores in Windows 7?

  I am not sure if this belongs to Stackoverflow or Superuser but I thought I would ask here. I have a console based application written in C which currently takes about an hour to terminate in Windows 7 64-bit OS. The task manager reports that the application is using only 25% of the available CPU. I would like to reduce the run time by increasing cpu usage. Is there any way to let the application use all four cores (the laptop has Core i5) instead of just one? I am assuming that task manager reports 25% because only one core is allocated to the program.

• Event is causing an error, but I can't catch the exception

  A developer has created a custom control in ASP.NET using VB.NET. The custom control uses a repeater. In certain scenarios, the rpt_ItemDataBound event is encountering a data error. My goal is rather than having the user see the yellow screen of death, give the user a friendlier error explaining exactly what the data error is. I figured I would be able to use a Try/Catch block as shown below throw the exception, however, it appears that the event has nowhere to be thrown to and stops executing at the "End Try" line. Protected Sub rpt_ItemDataBound(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.RepeaterItemEventArgs) Handles rpt1.ItemDataBound, rpt2.ItemDataBound Try ProcessBadData... Catch ex As Exception Throw ex End Try End Sub In VB.NET, I can find where the repeater's DataSource is being set, however, I can not find a DataBind event. Any ideas how I can capture the exception in this ASCX control so I can report it to the user?

• Communicate between service and winform

  I could do with a bit of help with a windows service im writing in c#. The service basically just runs various tasks on a schedule. It has 3 main sections: a class which contains everything for the task (config, code to be executed when it runs, etc), the service which contains instances of the tasks, running them on a timer and a windows form which is used to configure the settings for the task. The question I have is would it be possible to reference the service from the Winform whilst the service is running? Ultimately I want to be able to open the Winform and see a live status of what the service is currently doing. I've considered writing something network related to get around it but it didn't seem correct considering that both processes would be on the same machine.

The mybb_userfields is the table that contain custom profile field data that they are able to customize & change in their profile. Now, all I want to do is display all users in rows with the custom profile field data that they provided in their profile(which is in the mybb_userfields table) How can I display these fields correctly together? For instance, p0gz is a male,lives in AZ,he owns a 360,does not know his bandwidth & Flip Side Phoenix is his team. How can it just be like "p0gz-male-az-360-dont know-flipside phoenix" in a row~???

• Display two images side by side on an HTML Page

  I am trying to place two images of the same size side-by-side. If I use a "table" then I am able to display both images side-by-side. But in my CSS Stylesheet I am using a custom format for the table and this shows on the page containing the images too. But I want to just display both images without any custom background or border etc. I tried using "div", "span", "ul" & "li" etc. but failed in each case. How can I place two images (of same size) in a single line, without using a "table"?   I want to add a Custom field to the ContactsContract content provider. I'm trying to build a Voip application and would like to add a SIP address(name@domain) field to it. What MIME type will I need to associate with it? Also I want to add a group address field which will have a list of group addresses in it (name@domain, name@domain,...). Wich MIME type will I have to associate with this type of field. I also want to add custom fields to the Call History like a session ID and SIP address(name@domain) field. How can I customize the call history? It'll be great if someone can give me an example.

• WPF Datatemplate + ItemsControl each item uses > 1 MB Memory?

  Does that sound right to anyone???? I have an ItemsControl that displays data from a custom object that implements iNotifyPropertyChanged. The DataTemplate consists of: Border 3 buttons 5 textboxes An ellipse A Bindable RichTextBox (custom class that inherits from RichTextBox... so I could make Document a dependency property (to support binding)) Several grids and stackpanels for layout It uses: Styles (stored in a resource dictionary higher up the tree) Styles affect: colors, thicknesses, and text properties: which are data-bound to a "settings" class that implements iNotifyPropertyChanged, so the user can change display settings That's it! So what gives? I've also noticed that when I empty and remove the ItemsControl, memory isn't freed. over 5000 instances of "CommandBindingCollection" and "WeakReference" are CREATED (using ANTS profiler). And huge number of EffectiveValueEntry objects are created too. So really, what gives!!! :-) Thanks for your insight! Management needs this project soon but in its current state, it's unreleasable.

  I was looking for an InternalFrame for JavaFX. Apparently I it seems like there is no InternalFrame available. How does one create an MDI application with JavaFX? I have tried to simulate this behavior by using a custom Region that can be dragged around. Is that the way to go?   I am developing a php/mysql driven facebook game. I am stuck on an element the table design. When a user completes a task I want to trigger any number of events. I was thinking of something like so: tbl_events *event_id - serogate primary ID *task_id - foreign ID of the task just completed *event_type - what type of event e.g is it a facebook stream publish or a message to the user or does it unlock a new element of the game? *event_param - this is where it gets tricky... the event parameter is a problem for two reasons, 1) it will contain different foreign ids... dependent on the event_type and thus it will not be possible to join to x table. Meaning I would have to call two queries. 2) Most events require a single id or text, however some events require multiple parameters - like the facebook stream publish.

• Configuring log4j at runtime

  I'm using org.apache.tools.ant.listener.Log4jListener to manage logging with my ant script. The ant script is highly configurable and designed to be run different ways with different parameters and therefore I need to be able to log to files specified at runtime. I have a log4j.properties which specifies a log file to be build.log, and despite my attempts to launch ant redefining properties defined in log4j.properties have been unsuccessful. The build ignores them and continues to write to build.log. I haven't found much support regarding writing to custom files unless it's in Java with their Logger class. Perhaps I'm thinking this through wrong. log4j.properties isn't treated in the same way as a property file in an ant script (hence overrideable from the command line)? Is there a way I can do this intelligently without writing a custom task or something?

  In one SQL Task can I create a table variable DELCARE @TableVar TABLE (...) Then in another SQL Task or DataSource destination and select or insert into the table variable? The other option I have considered is using a Temp Table. CREATE TABLE #TempTable (...) I would prefer to use Table Variable so that it remains in memory. But can use temp table if it is not possible to use table variable. Also I cannot use the record set destination as I need to preform straight SQL tasks on it later on.

  This is a bit of a naive / simple question. I'm having a hard time finding this info online. Basically, does rspec run rake db:test:prepare between every rspec group? Or is it between every example or model? Or does the schema get loaded once and then truncated between each. I need to add a rake task directly after this call to create a view since they are not supported in schema.rb. Either a link or explanation would be greatly appreciated so that I know where to insert my rake task to create a view. Or whether there is a callback like rake db:test:after_prepare thx

  I have to develop a class which can run it's own hard-coded task in a background thread and communicate with container class sending him progress updates and taking messages from it. I believe I am going to extend BackgroundWorker class but it looks a bit weird to extend and I haven't managed to find a good example wit Google. Can you share a link to a good example of solving such a task? Please don't offer placing a BackgroundWorker visually on a form and reading the standard tutorial, it's not for my case. Maybe I'd better not extend but encapsulate a BackgroundWorker, but I hardly understand how to use it outide WinForms designer either :-(

I read in SDK I can use service account to login without promting user, but I don't know how to share or give permissions files for custom users. In api reference I found this: "The user is not necessarily yet a Google user (e.g. if a file or folder is shared with an email address that does not yet have an associated Google account). Example: 1111459233037698895607". How a custom user in my app should get a token for own privilages.

  Hello My application keeps running for 4 to 6 hours, During this time there is no contineous increase in memory or anything similar. Then after 4 to 6 hours i start getting EOutofMemory Exceptions. Even still at that time there is only 900MB out of 3GB RAM is used as per task manager. And application itself is not using more then 200MB . Then why i am getting EOoutofMEmory error ? Does it mean that memory leak is not necessarily visible in task manager ? Regagards

  Ok what im trying to do is a kind of audio processing software that can detect a prevalent frequency an if the frequency is played for long enough (few ms) i know i got a positive match. i know i would need to use FFT or something simiral but in this field of math i suck, i did search the internet but didn not find a code that could do only this. the goal im trying to accieve is to make myself a custom protocol to send data trough sound, need very low bitrate per sec but im also very limited on the transmiting end so the recieving software will need to be able custom (cant use an actual hardware/software modem) also i want this to be software only (no additional hardware except soundcard) thanks alot for the help.
